Hi, I have unlocked the bootloader on my E6853 device, however I am unable to install a custom recovery via fastboot.
The recovery is the TWRP 2.8.70 img file and it says it has installed correctly. When I try to enter recovery it does not boot into recovery and just boots up the phone as normal.
Have I missed a step, as I have made sure the bootloader is unlocked by typing in the dialer (*#*#7378423#*#*) and under configuration is says bootloader unlocked: Yes.
Please help! Thank you
If you arenonthe lastest Fw then I suggest you fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-premium/general/32-1-1-185-stock-modified-kernel-t3355369

Hi, today I tried to update my Xperia S to 6.2.b.0.211 using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302631
But I got a brick which put my phone on a bootloop like the sony logo wouldn't disappear. So I used PC Companion to repair it and now I'm at 6.2.b.0.200 without root.
What I'm asking: Is there any way to root/flash a pre-rooted rom or whatever to have my phone rooted?
Thanks in advance.

Hello guys, u dont need pre-rooted rom or use the old .200 rom anymore
just get the .211 stock rom and u can root it!!
Seems the .211 rom is not available in many country, including Hong Kong (where i'm from)
u can just flash the .211 rom with the ftf file with flash tool in your XS
u may download it here : http://goo.im/devs/DooMLoRD/xperia_s/LT26i_6.2.B.0.211.ftf
u can flash it in without wiping data or cache (while the pre-rooted rom will wipe data)
then root it with doomlord easy rooting kit : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327473
hope it helps

Here is very easy and wonderful way !
1. Unlock the bootloader ! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560613&nocache=1
2. Download flashtool and install it. http://androxyde.github.io/
3. Download doomkernel and SuperSU-1.25-Busybox-1.20.2-UPDATE.zip - 1.43 MB http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305591
4. Now flash the doomkernel via flashtool and restart the phone. Now when you see cool doomlord logo, pressing at 'volume +' you will get CWM recovery and pressing at camera button you will get TWRP recovery. choose any one of them and flash this 'SuperSU-1.25-Busybox-1.20.2-UPDATE.zip - 1.43 MB'

I'm not sure if it's region free but i can instal in on my Hong Kong version Xperia S so i believe it can be installed on yours
i believes most languages are here too
but there's only xperia international keyboard by default
seems other keyboard can still e added in setting
but the Xperia Chinese keyboard is missing and i have to flash it myself
if u dont like this version, u may look for another ftf file

It wont detect it. Go to update and when it tells you no device detected, click repair. When it prepares the firmware and asks you to connect it, hold vol down while plugging it in. IIRC that's how I did it.
PS: it'll get wiped

In the last time the phone booted ADB was enabled, then you should be able to do the following adb commands while in the bootloop:
Code:
adb pull /data/app .\app
adb pull /data/data .\data
adb pull /sdcard .\sdcard
Then you flash it in repair mode through SUS or PC Companion, after that enable ADB and do the following commands, but make sure your working dir is the same used during adb pull, otherwise it'll fail:
Code:
adb push .\app /data/app
adb push .\data /data/data
adb push .\sdcard /sdcard
If ADB wasn't enabled, then you will need Flash Tool and a FTF file for Xperia M, choosing to flash only /system partition should make it work again with minimal data loss (any app/mod that modified the /system partition will be lost)

Hi guys, please help, I have a simmilar problem.
I have (successfully) rooted my phone while leaving bootloader unlocked, but than I've realized that I have to unlock it in order to install CM11.
I have followed the instructions on SE folder and got the message that bootloader is successfully unlocked.
After that, the phone enters a bootloop every time I try to turn it on. Then, I've instaled CWM using flashtool and boot.img from CM11(kernel)?
Maybe the last one was bad idea, but I wanted to try to simply install new rom and see if it will help.
But I've stopped to ask for advice, is that the right thing to do or something else?
edit:
Because I've instaled CM11's boot.img(kernel) I don't know if I can simply use PC companion repair? And if I use PC companion what will happen with my root? And is it safe just to try to continue with installing CM11?

Don't update using pcc or ur phone will brick. Just download the 4.3 Ftf and flash via flashtool. Then flash cwm kernel for cm11 then flassh cm11 rom.
Or if u can access cwm of cm11 wipe data cache and flash cm11 rom.

If you use this method, you will lose your settings and personal apps and data.
you've been warned.
Download Flashtool, and the firmware(ftf). 15.5.a.1.5, its available on XDA.
Install Flashtool, run it. On first run it will download a list of devices from GitHub. Then install drivers from Flashtool/drivers folder. select Xperia M (nicki), flash, and fastboot drivers.
Run Flashtool again, select the lightening symbol on top. select flash mode.
Select the ftf file(firmware) downloaded.
It will prepare the files then will ask you to connect the device.
Press volume down button pressed and connect the device to PC.
It will install the frimware.

I don't know what caused the bootloop. Thanks for pcc info, **** I'd never say that would cause brick
Anyway, I've just flashed original rom again, than cwm for cm11 and cwm11. Now it's fine.

Hello there,
I think i have a solution to your problem and the answer is ( just follow what i say)
1) Download Androxyde XPERIA Flashtool from here.
2) Then install it on your PC , later install Fastboot and Flashtool Drivers (the .exe file will be there in c:\flashtool\flashtool drivers,u need not download separately) , as u are using Sony Xperia M , Check Flashtool drivers , Fastboot Drivers and Drivers for Xperia P,S when prompted.
3) Download the .FTF file of your Phone. Google it u"ll find it in no time
4)Then open Flashtool and Connect your Phone in Flashmode Mode ( by holding Volume Down button ,check for ur phone )
5) Search for the .FTFfile u"ve downloaded , Do check Wipe cache and data checkboxes and then click Flash, plz wait for the Flashtool to detect and prepare your files for Flashing
That's it , Now your Phone will work like never before
Plz tell me if it worked or not coz it worked for me and i am sure it will work for u too. i use Sony Xperia M Dual C2004

Worked Thank's a lot
I have an Xperia M C1905 currently at 4.3 15.4.A.1.9.
I now want to root it again, and to do so I need to downgrade it back to 4.1.2. However, the flash process always fails with the following error message "ERROR - Processing of loader.sin finished with errors.".
I looked for a sollution and found one, it said to install all drivers from flashtool/drivers/flashtool_drivers.exe which I have done, but I'm still getting the same error.
Unlocking the BootLoader is not an option, as my carrier is not allowing it.
How do you attach your phone to the computer? You must first press flash and then attach the phone only when you are asked to.
You don't have to.downgrade anymore as towelroot can root 4.3 locked bootloader. Look in the general section for step by step guide on doing it, I have rooted mine via that guide
Sent from my C1905 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I forgot to reply to this post.
The problem was because I didnt uncheck the file verification in FlashTool. I know about the new half-root method to use with rootfix on 4.3, I would have used it as a backup method is the other root method failed.
To people that may be finding this topic while searching on google, what I did was flashing 4.1.2, rooting it (Framaroot - SuperSU and Gandalf exploit), then flashing 4.3 excluding the system.sin .
There are Tutorials about it in the General section.
Other useful stuff to do after getting a rooted 4.3 is to swap the memory. I've been using a script that worked well, now I did it by placing a file into init.d. Again, all of this can be found on xda (google it, it will most likely spit out xda results).
I finished my work, so this topic can be locked, or left open for people to ask questions regarding the steps I did. Everything is working fine for me.
EDIT:
Forgot to mention that Reboot Fix is no longer necessary on 15.4.A.1.9 (even though it didn't work on 4.1.2). So far, during the re-installation of all my apps (was not required during the root process, I decided to do everything from scratch to remove all apps I haven't been using) my phone didn't reboot once, normally it would reboot roughly every 10th to 20th click. So I figure Sony has fixed the problem.

I have downloaded latest Flash tool and able to take the backup of my D5316 model (not yet done root or recovery). Not sure we can flash it back to device after trying to unlock bootloader or root the device (in case unlock/root fails).
I dont see the the rooting procedure for device D5316. They are talking of TA Backup prior any rooting or Unlocking BL. When taking the complete FTF, doesn't it retain the DRM keys? I am less confident risking going for rooting for this device without confirmed backup of TA
Emma don't support Xperia T2 Ultra but you can use other Flash tool
To restore the original firmware go to xperiafirmware.com/8-firmware/55-sony-xperia-t2-ultra-d5303
download the tool and the firmware of Xperia t2 ultra (D5303/D5316/D5306/XM50t) <- same model
Check you put your phone on flash mode (volume down), not fastboot (volume up).

Flashtool you need to get from http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
Stock Sony firmware you can download using another nice tool: XperiFirm ~ Xperia Firmware Downloader & Checker.
Using Flashtool you will need to convert stock firmware into flashable D5316_4.4.2_Sony.ftf , then you need to put your phone in flashmode mode by connecting USB cable to a computer while pushing Vol down (or up). Flashtool should recognize this mode.
Then you can chose what do you want to flash and what to skip.
It worked well for me and hope will help others.
Good luck!
I'm stuck on the android screen after flashing my T2 with a FXP ASOP Build. Will this same method to get me back to stock?
Download your device stock ftf file. And then flash through flashtool
Done and I'm back up and running. Appreciate the help. Now I need to cook my own ASOP rom. One last question, when I reflashed, SuperSu and other apps said they didnt have root access but when I got to unlock the phone again. It says its already unlocked. What am I missing here?
