Fix bad connections - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

If your phone disconnects from 4g lte and switch to E all the time go to your dialer dial *#*#4636#*#* go to the bottom and select lte only. I did that and haven't lost my connection yet. I use to get switched to E all the time in my room. Now it's staying on 4g lte.

Just a note.. you can't place or receive phone calls while in lte only.. Texting, data, Internet and voicemail notifications work though. Its good if you just want data and it takes less than 10 seconds to switch back to lte/gsm auto prl. I've noticed it helps to turn the radio off after you select lte only and it sets it to that when radio is turned back on. Voicemail notifications still work so it's great to not completely miss a call.

Spoke too soon just downloaded Google hangouts dialer and was able to make a phone call and everything. Now if I just knew how to get the incoming calls to come through Google hangouts I'd never have to switch back to lte/gsm again.?

Can't use Data or Text while Roaming on my EVO 3g (Quite possibly calls too)

When roaming (Which is most of the time at home) my phone fails to send text messages. It just keeps trying to resend and is unable to send. I have my Data Roaming enabled (Data Roam Guard/sound are disabled) and I have always on mobile data. Under the "Roaming" setting I have it set to Automatic.
Also, something I experienced while at the Grand Canyon this weekend (Which I had full bars that were roaming) I was unable to make phone calls or use any data. I was however able to receive phone calls. My friend with a Hero that is also on the Sprint network was able to use his phone just fine. (Text/Calls/Etc)
Is there anything I can do to try and fix this issue? I rarely have no signal my only problem is that I lose a lot of functionality when roaming and this should not be the case.
I tried calling Sprint about the issue and they weren't very helpful. I'm going to try again tomorrow.
Go to Settings>System updates and update your profile and PRL. See if that helps at all.
I've done both PRL and Profile a few times. It doesn't do a thing with regards to that. Handcent just continually tries to send a text and repeatedly fails till I exit roaming the text then sends.
So I have tried doing one of those PRL hacks to use a Verizon tower and when I do that I'll get reception on the verizon towers. The only thing is at that point I can't send or receive messages or make calls. It seems to be an internal setting somewhere on my account with sprint.

LTE Call Problem

Recently I noticed I been having this weird issue while my phone is on LTE. When it is on LTE, it doesn't seem to receive any calls. I understand the phone is supposed to switch over back to 3G, but it doesn't do so and the call just rings and nothing happens (testing with house phone).
However if I try to dial out with my phone while on LTE, it will switch to 3G and make the call. I hang up (and while still on 3G), I called my phone with the house phone and it went through fine.
What's up with that??

Similar issue with some wifi calling... when at my girlfriends old place, I would connect to wifi (with wifi calling enabled) and my mom would come by to pick me up or whatever but when she called to let me know she was outside, my phone wouldnt ring.... when I called her, everything was fine and the call would go through... have you toggled the wifi calling options at all when testing out if your phone will receive the calls? I know you said that it was happening over LTE but the circumstances seem eerily similar

[Q] Ignore calls and not drop LTE

I tether my i317 Note 2 on T-Mobile to video chat. I need LTE to video chat. Whenever I get a call, it switches to 3G and kills the video chat.
I tried "blocking mode" in settings, "ignore all numbers" in the phone settings, and both, and regardless, whenever someone calls, while it does 'block' the call (doesn't ring, immediately shows as missed) it drops LTE every time and video chat stops.
My workaround after it drops LTE because of a call is to disable mobile data for about 5 seconds, turn it back on, and hope it connects back to LTE. Most of the time it will reconnect to LTE, some of the time it will reconnect to 3G. Either way, it's driving me nuts and hurting my business.
I need the phone to stay on LTE even if someone is trying to call me. I'm thinking of changing my number to Google Voice and using forwarding to go to my phone. That way, I can disable call forwarding on Google Voice and people straight up won't be able to call my phone and disable LTE unless they randomly dial the phones random number instead of the Voice number.....kinda complicated to do that.
Stock ROM has band selection which should do the trick. It's accessible from the service menu. (I forget the dialcode, shouldn't be too hard to find))

service lost every so often

hey all,
I have att on my fire phone , and every now then(atleast once a day) I lose service. It would say searching on the signal bar and it never finds it lol. I would have to restart the phone and then it reverts back to normal. is anyone else having this issue?
I'm guessing it's the fact that LTE has lower signal quality than 3G and
once you force the phone to 3G (once per reboot) it will never disconnect.
LTE is used only for data, when you make calls it will switch to 3G anyways,
so call your phone while it's in LTE and you should notice signal improve ...
To switch do this:
Same as dialing *#*#4636#*#* but this is easier to use:
play.google.com /store/apps/details?id=diewland.testing.phone
Go under Phone Info, then select 3G auto I believe, 4th down from top.
Also, contact Amazon support (right from help on your phone) if the above fixes it.
Tell them you want settings for disabling LTE added to the phone,- I did that and they
said they've submitted to developers, but I guess it's best if more people request this ...

Missed calls not showing, and late SMS

I'm having issues when on WiFi and LTE Enabled, the phone does not get any phonecalls, missed phonecalls do not show and SMS arrive late (my carrier has the option to notify me missed calls, but yesterday the message got me 10 minutes after the call).
After searching, I've found out something similar happened to nexus 4-5, when WiFi is ON, LTE is ON, and the phone is in Sleep Mode but nothing on Zenfone 2. Have a friend with ZF2 that confirmed it happens sometimes but we doubt if it' s a phone issue or carrier issue.
Getting the network mode to 2G/3G seems to fix it, but it misses the LTE
try to restart the phone (?)
I reboot my phone every couple of days, but the bug sometimes appears in the phonecall right after rebooting
What messaging app are you using? I know I miss messages from my wife when I had textra in the "off" state with autostart manager. When I told it to start when the phone boots it started getting the text messages and mms's right away. Are you using a VPN or do you have weak signal and what firmware are you using?
make sure phone is allowed 2g/3g/4g all. If you restrict it to 4g only you will face such issues.

I usually reboot in the mornings. But I US Google voice so the issues never really show up.
Stock FW (was on 168, now I'm yesterday patched versopm) , Stock SMS, no VPN, and set to 2G/3G/4G
As I said, the problem is fixed when I'm on 2G/3G, but it kinda loses the point to have an LTE plan
can you test with 4g on and wifi off. What carrier are you on. Because carriers can use wifi and lte combo in case you have same carrier providing both facilities.

I'm on Uruguay Antel and it does not offer any combo whatsoever, voice calls are usually switched over to 3G when I'm on LTE, but somehow the network or my phone fails to switch sometimes
