Hello, i tried rooting my galaxy s6 edge g925t, on 6.0.1, and was successful but than tried to install twrp recovery and the phones bricks.. Later i get into the downloading mode and reinstall the stock ROM, than later i reinstall the root(CF-Auto-Root-zeroltetmo-zeroltetmo-smg925t.zip) and was still successful at the root. I figure out i need a custom kernel that will work for my android version, i cant find any kernels that will work for my 6.0.1. i still have a simplkernel for lollipop but i know that one wont work. Is there anyone that can help me find a simplkernel for my model phone and android version!
Never mind
I found a twrp/kernel recovery online and it worked, its all good now!!
I'm still using stock kernel which has no issues like in call audio or wifi problems.
only twrp that worked fine was Arter97 modified version.
as far as root rooted with version 2.71 Beta.

Link to a Tmobile supported SM-G925T 6.x Kernel???
Already have setup rooted working. I want to experiment with International versions. me thinks I still need a TMobile 6.x kernel to work since I already tried and wouldn't boot up. Nandroid back to my stock rooted TMobile Smartswitch installed version works fine.

So you'll tell us you got it to work and you'll tell us you successfully found a TWRP and kernel but you don't give us any way to find the programs so that we can use them as well which is the point of this website as far as I'm concerned glad your phone works but this post is useless...

I got my htc one back in January and immediately rooted it with s-off and installed twrp, since then I have been using this rom and it has worked just fine. But recently I got quite sick of sense and when I tried in stall this rom the phone would not work, I tried cm11 after but it would not flash at all giving me an error every time. I read that I need to update my firmware but Im not really sure what that means, or how to tell what firmware I am on(I thought firmware was the same thing as a rom?)
sorry if this is a stupid question, Im not really that good with technology :L

There were some recent changes to CM11 that require a new recovery. Have you tried the latest version of TWRP?
Where you using the CM11 nightlies or M releases?

Looks like you're a few versions behind, the latest version (2.7.0.8), and fastboot installation instructions are available at the link below.

Where there any errors while installing the rom in TWRP? You might try one of the CyanogenMod snapshots instead of a nightly, they're a bit more stable and well tested. Also, make sure that you backup and wipe when switching between different roms.

I recently decided to get back in the trying customized software after taking almost a year and half break from regularly doing it back on my Nexus S. Everything was going smoothly at first and I choose the latest version of liquidsmooth as first at bat and it worked like a charm until the cellular radio would not turn on. I tried everything I could find and even tried flashing the latest radio while on the rom, but no dice. I had to flash the stock image and it worked again, but when I tried flashing again same problem. I even tried slim rom after my second attempt with liquid and the radio just would not work. Wifi worked like a charm but no cellular at all. Can anyone help me with this. I really liked what I got to play around with on liquidsmooth, but I need my phone to actually function as phone. For now I am back to stock until I can find a solution.
Which stock image did you flash? I recommend

Lemme guess...you were using twrp to flash 4.4 ROMs

Yes. I read that as long as I used version 2.6.3.3 or higher, it would be fine.

"would be fine" in the sense that it has been common knowledge since 4.4 CyanogenMod builds started in November 2013...that TWRP does not work on L900 for AOSP-base 4.4, and it never has. And by the looks of things never will, as there's been no progress on L900 TWRP working in months,
Use PhilZ to flash and odds are your radios will magically work.

Alright, thank you for the help. I will try PhilZ and see how it goes.
I got a Galaxy S3 SPH-L710 and it was all ready updated to the L710VPUDOH1 baseband version. After searching around a little bit I noticed that most of the Roms are for baseband L710VPUDND8 and that some of the ND8 roms would not flash correctly.
I guess maybe i found a workaround for this. When i first tried to flash the CM 12.1 Rom I got error and it did not load. Did not hurt anything either. Was a little tricky getting initial root but got it all working.
Figured id share how i accomplished this in case someone else with the L710VPUDOH1 baseband wants to run the other Roms.
First i tried to root with Odin and the supersu.zip but it didnt take correctly.
Odin showed successful and the supersu flashed to the /system but every time i tried to run supersu I get Unfortunately SuperSU stopped working.
So i ended up using ODIN to get Temp CWM recovery and installed the CF-Autoroot in the CWM recovery. This woorked to get Root.
I downloaded the TWRP manager from playstore andused it to install TWRP 2.8.1.0
The TWRP Manager gave me an error but when i booted into recovery I had TWRP.
After that i tried to flash CM 12.1 in TWRP but got error and it didnt work.
I read that wicked 2.2 would load,
its big all most a gig so i figured it was pretty complete. maybe based off of stock.
I loaded it successfully.
afterwards i booted back into twrp and did an advanced wipe of.
Dalvic Cache
/ system
/data
/internal storage
/cache
Then i loaded Cm 12.1 with no issues.
Tested Pac-Rom No issues.
Im thinking any of the newer roms will flash fine now.

I'm hoping you left out some steps, because if you tried flashing CM 12.1 without doing a wipe on System/Data/Cache/Dalvik then you will not have a working phone.

I don't think the roms care if your on ND8 or NJ2 or whatever the latest is . You should also update twrp to 2.8.7.0 . Version 2.8.4.0 and on allow you to flash a new twrp version image right from recovery . 2.8.1.0 is pretty old . Best of luck with your new hobby .
Ya i didnt have any troubles.
Im currently working on 5 devices and writing sort of a kitchen.
But it dose way more than most kitchens. Even creates a CWM style backup over adb like onandroid.
I found a way to patch a factory recovery.img to flash files signed with my own keys and that kinda started it all.
Anyway Merry Christmas
what's the root method for DOH1? ;; I can't seem to find a thread specifically walking through the root method for the latest baseband and i have an old S3 and was thinking of playing around with it for a while for fun turn it into a light weight media player to save battery on my LG G4 since we all know how inconsistent and crap the battery can be with the G4 lol
The root is pretty easy.
I used this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963812
Then just get Clockworkmod or TWRP recovery for the d2spr sphl710 and flash it.
After that load any rom you want

To root, you need odin on your PC. You can get it here.
Use odin to flash twrp recovery. You can get twrp from their site. twrp
Get the .tar of the newest build for d2spr (sprint s3). Put it on you PC somewhere you can find it (download folder is fine)
There are tutorials everywhere for using odin. It's the way to root almost all Samsung phones.
You also need the Samsung drivers on your PC. I don't have a link for that at this moment.
Then launch odin on your PC.
Put phone in download mode (from powered off, hold power+home+volume down)
Plug phone in to PC and odin should say "added"
Click AP button in odin then navigate to where you have the Twrp .tar downloaded and select it
Click start in odin.
When it finishes it should say pass.
Don't let the phone boot to system, unplug it and take out battery
Put batter back in and boot directly to twrp recovery by holding power+home+VOLUME UP
In twrp select reboot, then system. It should say you don't have root and ask if you want root. Swipe the arrow for yes. Once it boots, open SuperSU and update binaries if it asks. Choose normal method.
Done. Rooted.
You should really have looked up how to root before coming to a thread about flashing roms. There are tutorials everywhere for rooting this phone. Google is your friend dude.
Edit: you can get the Samsung USB drivers here
That thread has rooting instructions too. It's for the virgin Mobile s3, but its the same phone. Those instructions work fine. Only difference is I linked you to twrp recovery instead of philztouch (philz development is dead) and I linked you to a newer odin.
If you are that new that you aren't sure about rooting, maybe start over there in Android forums. I'm a guide there.

I was given a SPH-L710... Originally purchased from sprint.... Currently activated on boost. I got the phone Dec. 24 2015. It had stock unrooted DOH1 with untripped warranty bit. I have successfully booted and ran these roms for a minimum of 24 hrs each. As far as I could tell they were fully functional including: 4G LTE, MMS send and recieve, hotspot, wifi, bluetooth, camera (still and video). All main fuctions worked correctly for the limited time that I used each rom. :
-Wicked-X-Bare-Bones.zip
-Wicked-X-v8.2.zip
-cm-11-20150831_SNAPSHOT-XNG3CAO3FN-d2lte.zip
-cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K7-d2spr.zip
-cm-12.1-20160202-NIGHTLY-d2spr.zip
-cm-13.0-20160130-UNOFFICIAL-d2spr.zip
Im currently running CM13 unofficial as a daily driver. Cm12.1 SNAPSHOT was also very responsive and gave me no problems. I flashed them with twrp.2.8.7.2-d2spr.img. i flashed the recovery with odin after i made it into a .tar.md5 using linux mint 17.3 cinnamon. For the lte and mms i used "apn backup and restore" from google play with the root explorer method. Open gapps aroma for each android version i got from cyanogenmod website. i would recommend searching and using the dd command with adb shell in a linux terminal or cygwin to backup every partition on your doh1 first. (You will need root and busybox) There should be 24 partitions in mmcblk0. Make a backup of every one and you can recover one way or another ALMOST regardless of what may or may not go wrong. I used supersu 2.65 zip. Ive had alot of issues due to DOH1 but all the resources are in that easily used omnibox. Hope any of this info helps you.

Actually, I don't use any company cause I don't live in the US so I use the phone only with WiFi.
I have tried several versions of custom recoveries to flash via Odin to root the new tmobile 6.01 fireward that was released today and have not had any luck so far.
So far I have tried using the recommended versions of twrp 3.0.2-0 with no luck:

Has anybody successfully rooted with the 6.01 T-mobile firmware that was released today? If so could you please provide a link with the exact custom recovery file you used.
Thank you in advance.

Search for 3.0.2 nobleltezt twrp and download latest version (This recovery is for Note 5 but works awesome, and S6 Edge+ TWRP stuck or won't boot)
Flash in Odin but remember to uncheck auto-reboot then reboot manually with volume down and power button combo.
To anyone having probs. rooting the new DPD1 Marshmallow update, follow the guide HERE. Looks like dirtybudha has compiled everything in one post. Hit the thanks buttons!!!!!! It works perfect for both devices.

Correct, I odined MM from Sammobile for the TMO S6edge+, this morning but could not get rooted and Titanium up and running all day, flashed and odined probably 15 times. Long story short, both firmwares are DPD1, and work fine.
Ok that makes sense. I'm using a COKC 5.1.1 note5 ROM on my edge plus so I guess it's the same principle just on a different Android version.
Thanks

I know exactly what you are doing wrong...
Go into Settings>Developers options and enable the OEM unlock.
By default the OEM unlock is always enabled so you must have
disabled it!!! LOL
That's why you are having issues with odin flashing twrp.
Keep the OEM unlock ENABLED all the time.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Is there an odin tar for mm yet or bootloader and modem
Tia
I have 2 questions
1. Always private mode is lost by making root in 6.0.1?
2.in g928t 6.0.1 you do not need a custom kernel?

Here are the links to the proper versions of TWRP and SuperSU for
the Marshmallow 6.0 update/firmware for the G928T S6 Edge+ and
the Note 5 N920T phones. - Courtesy of @Chainfire and @bigbiff -

SuperSU-v2.71-G928T-N920T.zip

These work 100% on both phones, they have been
fully tested and they even work perfectly for me. LOL

I just got this phone (SM-928T) and switched to Tmobile 2 days ago. Much happier with-mobile by the way. Anyway, I am on 5.1.1 AOGD and was weary about installing OTA updates so I didn't take incase I wouldn't be able to root. I currently have root via CF-Autoroot for 5.1.1 but, for whatever reason I cannot get TWRP installed on it though. Once I do it, it soft bricks and upon rebooting I get an error in the top left stating "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING" I can only get back into ODIN. Recovery doesn't boot. I have to reflash with CF-Autoroot in order to get my phone to boot again. So my question is, if I install stock 6.0 firmware via ODIN or Smart switch returning me to stock 6.0 and "unroot" then flash then these files I should be on 6.0 and achieviable root again? Thanks for any info!
- Sorry If this is a dumb question, but I haven't been in the rooting scene in awhile since I had a Note 4 that couldn't be rooted on Verizon for about 2 years.
So I got bored today. I decided to give MM another go. BIG mistake. I can't get back to lollipop. I made a TWRP backup but restoring from it gets stuck on the Samsung screen. It just says Kernel is not seandroid enforcing. I installed MM via odin and it must of upgraded the boot loader because now when I try to flash 5.1.1 via odin I get sw rev check fail device 4 binary 3 on my phone. HELP! I can't even get MM past the "LTE Plus" boot screen on MM. Any advice would be wonderful! Otherwise my s6 is a nice paperweight and I'm stuck without a phone
AFAIK, if you are on one of the 3-4 latest MM builds, you CANNOT go back to 5.1.1 anymore.
Samsung added the anti-downgrade function to those builds already.
You cannot downgrade as yaibakt pointed out. After installing the latest MM version via Odin, boot to stock recovery and wipe all user data. It will boot then.

@Poebat, may I offer to help a bit? You won't be able to roll back, but you'll feel a whole lot better about what you have.
Follow my guide here to get up to the latest firmware, rooted and with TWRP: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
Then install the latest BiggDaddy ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...pment/biggdaddypi3grace-ux-rom-6-0-1-t3484252
Play around with the many options. It is a great ROM.

Damn. Last time I tried I was able to downgrade. I assumed I would be able to do the same with the latest. I'm a genius. Thanks for the heads up.
