Hello,
Does anybody know if this will be available? I have been using an Otterbox case on my M7 ever since it came out and it has saved my phone from some painfull falls several times.
EDIT: damn, wrong kind of topic....

Was just wondering if anybody know about a good shield for the HTC Hero (GSM version). I used to have the flexishield before, but the phone became too bulky for my liking though so I got rid of it. Now the paint has started coming off on the corners of the phone. So does anybody have a good shield, which is a bit thinner than the Flexishield?
Thanks

46 views, and no response? Awkward.
You could try a Zagg invisibleshield or StealthGuard
I just wanted to know if that's the case. Thanks

Looks like it does. When i bought this phone (about 4 months ago) it was kind of hard to leave some fingerprints on it, no matter how hard i tried and now i gotta clean it after every phone call :-/ Altough it's still much better then my wife's fingerprint magnet (HTC Desire S).
Yes, It happened to me about 2 weeks in.
Me too! Since I started putting my phone in a leather belt case, it looks like it is wearing the coating off, shame.
what I'm actually wondering is if it's still scratch resistant

Actually it's the coating that's more likely to scratch. The actual glass is quite a bit tougher.

Moved to Q&A
I dropped my phone and it shattered in the corner and a big crack going across the screen. Insurance rang me today and said they will fix it and I'll have it back by next week.
Obviously now I want a case or something that will stop this happening again.
Will most cases protect the screen from drops or are there certain good ones?
I'd rather the cheaper the better since I'm a poor student, but obviously I want it to work!
Thanks
otterbox defender, is what i bought after dropping and smashing my dhd screen. it's very good, does what it says.

Thanks!
Just had a check, bit pricey. Gonna look around more first see if there are cheaper alternatives
yeah for a case, its expensive, but well made (when i first got it my mate kept just picking up my phone and throwing it across the room for fun! the case itself is still like new to be honest.
theres some others i saw, not tried em, but theres ballistic, trident, casemate and more

I have the otterbox commuter.
Got it for around $33 AUD posted.
I don't know how well it would go if you were throwing it around the room but it's rugged enough to withstand the odd drop.
I think a simple neoprene/leather pouch will be all you need. There are plenty in Accessories forum.

I'm not sure whether it's the size/weight or the slippery, but I found holding OPO in one hand is not comfy.
Did anyone have a better experience after using an accessory?

I used many diff cases on my many phones before. Recently, carrying my OPO naked and loving it. I've never dropped a phone in the last 12 years. I carry mine in belt loop.
Hello friends,
I would like to ask if any of you managed to not scratch the back of your phone. If so how?
Because in my experience, after a light drop when i bought it, i said for the first time in my life, in going to use a case (previously all htc phones, then xperia z2, all looked brand new after 2 years of use without a case).
But with the original ice view case (which split in two after 6 months because the glued flap was weak btw), i somehow found the aluminum back cover of the phone getting scratched/peeled here and there, even though i never used the phone without the case.
I am now about to have the back cover replaced with a brand new red one at a shop since i have to replace the battery anyway (sadly i see a significant decrease of battery life after a year).
Question : do any of you fellows managed to keep the metal back of the phone in good condition with a case? I mean regarding the peeling off the coating. If so, what were your picks?
Thanks in advance everyone.
I haven't noticed any scratches from any of my clear TPU cases or leather ones. I have been using the official ICE case lately so I'll double check to see if that's done anything so far. It's a nice case but cracks way too easily for being $50.

Ive always used a skin before putting a case on to protect it from grit getting in the case

I use a Spigen Slim Armor, I had a solid drop with it on the other day from about a meter high, it landed face down on concrete and skidded across a metal manhole plate. Phone wasnt scratched at all, but the case certainly took the beating instead. Definitely recommend one (also its been on about a year and the back of the phone still looks like brand new) it also gives the phone a much less slippery feel which is a massive bonus.
If you keep the crud out from in between the case and the phone it'll stay scratch free. Just take it off every few weeks and clean it, boom.
I dropped mine about 30' off a bridge pier I was inspecting last year with a Spigen slim armor case on, and it survived. I have no idea how, but it wasn't even scratched. The case was effed up pretty bad and the screen protector was trashed. Toughest phone I've had to date.
Hopefully the U12 or whatever gets away from the glass back plate because I'll most certainly break that.
