Thank you for your help

I am deciding to buy a phone: between hd2 and desire. I would prefer hd2 as it can have multi-os. I am a developer and it's a plus to have a phone support multi os so that i can develop and test on these os without having to buy multiple phones... i am planning to use android as my main os but i am wondering if it worth it..
I have been reading a lot of threads of android roms on hd2 and posting quite some questions lately about flash 10.1 support, battery etc..
the more i read about the android roms on hd2, i keep finding more and more issues(with some constantly repeating):
like robot voice where some people say it's fixed in one thread and in another more recent thread someone else says he still has the issue (and has to enable loudspeaker and turn it off or some say the phone freezes when they get robot voice and have to reboot); that's pretty annoying imo..
there's also low volume issue that i always see in every rom thread i read..
then there is vibration problem or phone not ringing, missed calls issues, battery drain issue, etc... (the list is quite big )
my question: do these issues exist in htc desire sock rom or desire's custom roms (i am a fan of customisation and will probably be flashing custom rom on desire if i buy a desire instead of an hd2)?
My primary concerns are
calls, sms (I will be using it for my work; so missing a call or having bad call quality or missing sms are not acceptable)
camera (should react quick a bug-free to take photos with default winmo quality)
music player (just need decent sound)
,
is there an android rom having all these 4 functionalities stable and bug-free (haven't found any yet.. been doing a lot of research and reading a lot of android rom thread)...
sorry for the long post and thx for reading it... waiting for your responses... depending on my needs. Hopefully, i will get the necessary advice to make my final decision. Thanking you in advance
u've said it all in ur post, if android is not running as it should on hd2 (as hd2 is primarily designed for WM) and u need android as ur first OS option, there should be no question which of these 2 to chose.
as for custom ROMs u have a thread about each one so take a look. basicly they all do the work.
but then u have multi os on hd2 and like i am asking in my post : is there actually a stable android build on hd2 that do not have the issues i mentionned? maybe i missed it... would be glad if a user with both phones could answer me
There are many great roms for desire. As long as you choose a stable one and not a rc. All have different pros and cons. Personally defrost & oxygen my favorite. But I change all the time currently running ReDux. Which is the most stable gingerbread rom I've found. Anyway any stable rom should consistantly deliver those 4 thing u want. Can't speak for hd2 as never used 1. But I really rate my desire. .
P.s get a case straight away as camera cover gets scratched up easy.

Do you want to run WinMo? If not.. desire all the way
Why struggle to make something run Android when you can get a proper native android device? Seems like a no-brainer to me
Hi everybody,
Maybe this is an old question but i couldn't find it:
Is there a way to change the volumesettings?
The volume is so soft
Everything is on the loudest but stil so soft.
Before the HTC desire HD i had a windowsphone (Omnia 1900) and there was a code for. Then you could change the volume in the system of the phone.
Hope you can read my bad english and thanx
There is app called dsp manager with volume increase patch. Try to search..
P.s. If you use this patch, be aware, your battery life will be shorter.

Try flashing leedroids new kernels, he has increased the global volume by 20%

You can also try flashing Buzz Sense kernel or a custom ROM which uses LeeDroid or Buzz Sense kernel. I've flashed Revolution HD and Buzz Sense kernel on my phone and the experience has definitely improved.
Flash Buzz or LeeDroid kernel and you should be set, volume is much nicer now when talking on the phone. The other day I actually have to turn it down that was a first lol
Thanks for the responds
However, i'm new at this and never worked with roms and kernels
Sooooo....you think it's a smart thing to try as a newbie

Hey all,
I have just recently, while playing ninja royale been having sound issues .
The sound simply goes down to a minimum while pressing screen and it also fluxuate op and down, not higher then the original sound setting.
I have not dropped the phone on the floor and i use an Otterbox 'defender when i go outside. so only thing that ive done is using my fingers on the screen.
Im using android 4.0 , Sense 4.1 CoreDroid v 4.4 htc api 4.23 htc ext. 403-1-GA-20 kernel 2.6.39.4-g090b42e baseband 2.1204.135.20
versionnr 2.17.401.2 CL89015 webkit /534.30
and i have played the game over a month and this has not accured before, with same rom etc.. I fear the phone has gone broken.
So i need someone to help me with correct original HTX ROM and my is CID HTC_Y13. Maybe a link to how to unroot the thingo so i can return it to dealer for rep.

Hi all, this is my first post in that forum, with a doubt about my girlfriends wildfire s. I rooted the phone months ago (unlocked + s-on) but cant find a stable and long-last-battery life with a2sd anywhere. Ive tried out with wildchild, cyano 7, miui, stocks and others ive find in htcmania (im spanish) and here in xda. She wants a ROM with Sense because of the widgets and simpleness. Now, shes using a sense 3.5 based one, but battery life cant last long more than 10h with about 1 or 1 and a half screen time... Without a2sd because it makes the phone bootloop and force closes everytime. I checkd the battery with an app that i use in my One X, gsam battery, and got immpresed about the radio drains.
Any help, suggestion? Thanks
Hi mate. I'm spanish too so i guess that you know some spanish developers such as chucky6600. He's permanently developing Sense roms and he's quite obssesed with battery friendly ones. If you are interested please contact me by MP in order not to make spam
HTC has just launched an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update with its Sense 5 user interface for the HTC One X. For now, only the unlocked European version of the smartphone can benefit from the update, but the rest of the One X owners should get it in the coming weeks.
With Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5 UI, the HTC One X gets features like Blinkfeed, Lockscreen widgets, as well as the Quick settings panel. The latter brings access to 12 different settings with a single swipe. Another user interface enhancement, albeit minor, is the battery level percent indicator next to the battery icon in the status bar.
The gallery app has been also overhauled with video highlights, which come with 12 different themes. There's also auto exposure and autofocus lock available in the camera app. Lastly, the music app enjoys the got visualization with live lyrics.
The Android 4.2.2 update for the HTC One X weighs at 380 megabytes and brings the software version of the device to 4.18.401.2.
HTC has been launching quite a lot of updates for its Android smartphones this summer. Just the week before, the company issued the very same update for the HTC One X+. In July, the company started seeding Android 4.2.2 for its flagship HTC One, and just a day after that the Butterfly got the Android 4.2.2 treatment.
