I have the same problems. No bloody manual, just a quick start guide.

I finally made the gps work. Anyway, in regards of manual, I found it on the german samsung web (german/english version)
what is the solution ?
I thought I heard that the Vogue has GPS but is locked. Is this true?
The vogue does have GPS and it is locked. You can unlock it by flashing one of the newer ROMs or the kitchen from PPCKitchen.org. I heard DCD is working on an updated kitchen for the Vogue, but he hasn't released it yet.
just my 2cents here...i would not call it "locked", but "disabled" when purchased from Sprint. for the Sprint version there's the stock/leaked ROM that enables GPS and Rev A. as the poster above says, there's quite a few custom ROMs that also enable GPS and Rev A. GPS is not, however, locked to Sprint. don't know about the Telus folks, tho.

Until recently, there have not been any CDMA Touch's(Vogues) with GPS... The hardware is there, but the necessary software isn't.
Most carriers will be releasing an update, however they may not release GPS support. Telus, for example, is only promising Rev. A.
The good news is, yes, the hardware is there. There ARE a few custom roms available which do enable that feature.
I just flashed my Vogue with the sprint rom to update the radio and hardware, then I flashed it with OMJ's Bell rom, and now I have GPS, Rev A speeds and even the bluetooth file transfer is about 30kbps faster(getting 110-115 now as opposed to 75-80 before).
The rev. A speed is nice, internet seems snappy and responsive and I get about 900kbps max throughput.
Edit: forgot to mention, i'm running a Bell Touch that i bought in early december, 2007
I flashed a rom that was suppose to have rev a and gps, i dont seem to have it at all.
I've unlocked and installed one of the leaked ROM's and my GPS is working great, i'm just having problems with my camera, it isn't saving the pictures. It shows the counter decreasing but I can't find where the picture or video is, there isn't anything there.
But, GPS gets a good stable lock everytime and works great with TomTom Navigator and Google Maps.

Search your micro sd card... your pictures should be in a folder named DCIM.
Is there anybody who knows if the HTC touch XL (elfin), (this is the name in france) is similar to vogue?
Is there a solution to verify if my HTC TOUCH elfin is CMDA or not????

What is the name of your carrier? Some carriers are GSM, some are CDMA. Someone will know which of the two networks your carrier is using (or you can make a quick call to customer service and ask). That's the simplest way.
Which carrier are you with? i can research this for you if I get the company's name.
Thanks a lot for your help. My carrier is ORANGE...
Your Touch uses GSM so I think you need to look in the Elf forum here if you have any questions.
Votre Touch utilise GSM, donc je pense vous devez chercher dans le forum d'Elf ici si vous avez des questions.
Ok, but my ELF have:
- memory 128Mo
- flash 256Mo
That's why i was thinking my phone was an ELFIN, not an ELF but i was hoping ELFIN was similar to vogue.
Is there any chance to have GPS in spite of it's not a vogue?
Yours is the enhanced version of the GSM Touch. Elfin is the Touch XL. It only means you have more ram and memory than the original GSM Touch. All the info you can find is over in the Elf forums. Sorry we couldn't help!
Yes i understand, in the ELF thread effectively, there are ELF and ELFIN mentionned...
GPS for VOGU
I have the VZW VOGU that I bought a couple weeks ago so I was wondering if I can get GPS on it. It seems like there is alot of back and forth and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. If ya just let me know how and possibly where to get it that would be nice. Thanks
i have the telus htc touch, and after i installed a custom gps rom i still can't see how to use the gps... i tryed google maps and it says "seeking for satellites " and locks there 4ever, and with tomtom i can't choose internal gps.....any ideas of what to do or what ive done wrong?!!
You have to do specific steps. You need to install the leaked sprint rom to upgrade the radio and firmware, then you need to install your other(gps enabled) rom of choice, then the GPS will work.
As we all know Lg ks 20 and htc kaiser use the same processor. Is it possible to use the gps driver from Kaiser in order to enable the gps reveiver (if there is an antena) for the Lg? The idea is based on the fact that the Kaiser users use our video driver to improve their video performace. Maybe we can also use their driver to enable the gps. The Kaiser's users can help us here to our try.
The registry location of the gps driver of the Kaiser is:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver]
I think that the driver is the "QualComm GpsOne Card". You can view some registry values for the gps of the Kaiser here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1735972&postcount=112
I think that what we need is descpribed below:
In fact, most QGPS implementations, including the SiRF-III and the Kaiser's Qualcomm have 4 layers of software to make the whole thing work.
The first being the GPS channel driver itself obviously. The second is an GPS intermediate driver, which is somewhat a managed com port driver.
The third - the most important one - being a QGPS service (in Kaiser) / a helper background process (in SiRF-III) running in the background to actually use the downloaded quick gps ephemeris/almanac data to calculate satellite positions, and then upload it to the GPS chip. It is indeed contrary to popular believe that you upload the whole QGPS file to the GPS chip and let it do all the computation. This is actually quite impossible given the processing power of such a small chip and very limited memory. The data crunching must be done with a processing unit running off the chip, i.e. on the host device. In a SiRF-III implementation, the real-time ephemeris/almanac data obtained by the GPS are actually being written back to the QGPS data file, presumably in an attempt to preserve the most updated data in a data store.

Already I found the gps driver and the quick gps in Italian language from the Kaiser rom thanks to Guybrush. You can find it here:

I install it in lg. After the instalation it obviously seems that all the registry values are similar to the Kaiser for quick gps and the gps driver, but the gps is not activated and the quick gps program does not start at all. I don't know if it is a good start but its a good opportunity to try something for enabling the gps in lg ks20 if exists. Maybe we have also to make some changes in the nv backup file. I don't know.
If anyone knows what we can do next please share it with us.
If it s possible it will be so nice
Are you sure the hardware is the same as the kaiser?

Both use Qualcomm MSM 7200, 400MHz processor core. Also in the nvbackup file of the lg you can find something like the following lines:
xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
where are also used I think from Kaiser.
antenna
I don´t know much about this, but I think that besides the chipset, the device needs a gps antenna to work - and I highly doubt there would be a spare one in the ks20...

This is true. There must be a gps antenna in order to make it work. But we will not know that unless someone open the device or make the gps functional working through the gps driver. The second option is easier I think...

According to this site there is no gps antenna into the ks20. If someone else can check the photos and can see a gps antenna, then we can continue searching for enabling the gps driver. But for know everything seems bad...
Hi
I am trying to enable VoLTE and WiFi calling on my Nexus 5x. My carrier supports these features, and as far as I know, Nexus 5x is capable of supporting them as well. My phone is rooted, and runs Pixel 2 ROM which I found on xda (https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/development/rom-pixelmod-lg-nexus-5x-t3486862). I have Magisk flashed and I just enabled the "VoEnabler" module so that I get the necessary toggles in Settings. They appear, but unfortunately, they do not work. When I check IMS registration in ##4636## (##INFO##) it still says "Not registered". I have learnt that I need to enable a certain "profile" for the Qualcomm radio chip as well, so I downloaded QPST_2.7.460 and managed to see the phone in PDC.exe after installing the correct Qualcomm drivers on my PC, and setting the DIAG PORT to on for the phone by issuing the command 'su; setprop sys.usb.config diag, adb' in a Terminal emulator on the phone. Where I am stuck now, is in PDC, because it only shows me 3 profiles: HW_DEFAULT, SW_DEFAULT and ROW_Generic_3GPP. I read that Vodafone_India, or Telefonica UK, or Telia Finland would be profiles that may work with my carrier and allow my phone to register with IMS, but unfortunately I do not have those in the list. So, my question is, does someone have more experience with this, can I load MBN files for this profiles using the "Load" button in PDC? If so, do files coming from other Nexus 5x, or even other phones work? If anyone has any experience with this, any help would be grately appreciated.
A little update: I tried with some of the mcfg_sw.bin files from the stock ROM, unfortunately, it just cannot activate for Sub0 and switches back to ROW_Generic_3GPP. Furthermore, I downloaded an LG G4 firmware, as that phone uses the same chipset, and tried to see the files extracted from the KDZ file usig 7zip, yet none of the "mcfg_sw.bin" files actually appear in PDC so I cannot "activate" it on the phone. Would really appreciate someone with a bit of experience to guide me on this one.
Thank you very much.
PS. Sorry if this is the wrong section, feel free to move it wherever it belongs to.
Your carrier needs to have enabled these features in their network for your phone model, too.
I've found that support for VoLTE is very spotty among custom ROMs. Some don't seem to pay any attention to it, some say they "support" it but it doesn't seem to work. That may be a per-carrier issue. FWIW I'm on Verizon in the USA and CandyROM is one of the few I've found that "supports" VoLTE, *and* it actually works for me, *and* the ROM is actively maintained. So maybe try that one if you're not too attached to PixelROM. I wish this feature was paid more attention by developers, it really makes a big difference in call quality.
The carrier supports it, of course. Do you have the same phone (5x) and run CandyROM on it? Have you got a link for it? I don't see how ROMs really have to do anything special, since they do not touch the radio partition, which is still the one from stock. You just have to add the toggles to the Settings app by editing build.prop, I guess. But I will take a look anyway, maybe it actually works, although my carrier does not support this actual model, I was hoping I couod change the modem config on it and force it to work with WiFi calling and VoLTE.

Yes, I have a 5X, run this ROM, and VoLTE works.

Maybe I'll try it, although I am pretty sure it won't work by default on my carrier, since it has the same default radio which lacks the proper config for my network. That's what I am trying to get, a proper config that will work with my phone, by switching it with Qualcomm PDC.
For Verizon, the necessary config is already in the radio image, of course, and probably gets picked up automatically when the device signs into the network. For Europe, all I see is EE UK...
In the UK the operator EE does support VoLTE for many phones but not for the N5X, even if you've "provisioned" it in your ROM.
Hello all!
So, as said in thread name, lot of users from 4pda.ru founded that GLONASS doenst work on our device - apps like GPS Test cant find any glonass satelites (while other android phones at same time and place - got them).
After all our tests we have founded only gps and beidou satelites.
firmware version is 00W_1_340_RU
Have anyone got it working?
