Lost the imei tinkering.. Have no clue how but it is now missing from the settings and will not connect to the network. This is on my tmo g3. Please help
Dial *#06#
Nothing
What have you done to the phone?
Most of the time there is a sticker under the battery.
Yeah but what do i use to get the imei back inside the phone instead of just the sticker
Will donate if somebody can help me figure this out..
Isn't this that efs backup stuff talked about in the PurpleDrake thread?

As Skizzy034 noted you'll need to have performed an EFS backup. You can either flash the zips you made or use ADB to restore the partition.
Or call t mobile and tell em your phone does not work right and get replacement. You still never said what happened? What did you do right before issue happened?
I believe I saw a efs recovery method in the lg g2 forum but it looked like a long process and it might not even work for our phone. If I was you I would try to find it quick because normally anything that can potentially spoof imei numbers gets deleted when a moderator notices it.

That's of no help unless somebody comes out with a method for restoring without a backup (I've seen it done with a couple devices). Until that happens, unfortunately there's not a lot you can do with the device.
Do a search for a member by the name Odia, I messed mine up before on another phone and He helped me restore withbout any backup. This was before I ever heard of efs

What about if your phone has the WRONG imei number after flashing a ROM? Does that matter? The phone still works.
I don't have any info on being able to help but this is a prime example of why you take the few extra steps and back up. Most of the time I'll admit, in fact I have never needed mine but on those rare occasions its literally a phone saver.

Same happened to me! Did you fixed it or send it back for repair?
Editing the IMEI in any way is illegal and against our rules. The only allowed way is to have a backup. Anything else is not allowed here.
Also do not Suggest people send the device in to be repaired under warranty. This is Fraud and also not allowed.

I rooted my phone after 15 days the phone crashed with imei null error and i had to pay for motherboard replacement.
that is why every thread about rooting suggest to backup your efs partition.

Which method did you use to root?
Stumproot
If you had to pay for motherboard replacement, that means you wasnt able to turn the phone on? If its that, they couldnt prove your phone was rooted. If you were able to turn it on, you should simply flash stock and send it to repair center. So they wouldnt notice that phone was rooted. It is not for sure, that root your device made it to be imei NULL.

I have the similar problem as well, my phone couldn't switch on, and only stays at LG logo screen, and only can access fastboot mode.....
I didn't do the EFS back, so I'm planning to send it back to LG to change the motherboard.....
Or, is there any other way to fix it??
I really can't tell, sorry. About EFS, even if you could somehow establish communication between PC and G3 via adb you have to move those two files from SD in order to have them available after going back to stock.
My D850 has been rooted for 2 months my F400S was rooted until I dropped it and my F460S is also rooted. I've never had an issue with imei null error on any of my G3's. Did you do anything that could have caused this?
efs doesn't wipe by itself, if you have IMEI nul that means efs has been corrupted or deleted which is usually due to you doing a mod incorrectly. None of the current root methods will touch efs.

So as I though and I wrote before. Root is not failure for IMEI Null. So, he should just flash kdz to stock and turn it back. In that way he could say it happen by itself, thats it. No paying for new motherboard.
Hi, I've been trying to find a solution for the problem of null IMEI I'm having after wiping EFS partition on the Chinese TWRP, maybe it's not that and it is because I've erased modemst1, modemst2 and flashed modem+fsg.
I'm pretty sure it had to do with one of those procedures, when I wiped the EFS I've got some error saying it couldn't be done but something went missing.
I've got a more direct question now, my brother just bought a Moto Z Play yesterday, if I backup his EFS on my phone (he already asked if I want to do that) will both of us would be able to use our phone normally?
can anyone backup their "efs" and upload it here so that i can restore it and get back my imei.
plzzz. needed indian efs

No way, like you already now, each phone has an individual IMEI. Your phone is unfortunately unusable.
What did you attempt to do? Flash another firmware package ?

Lenovo could generate it. But they probably instead replace the main board. You may ask them how much the repair is.
I think I'll just take it there and see if they can do anything about.
well, lesson learnt hard way

New motherboard unfortunately
Now you know not to use fishy Chinese recoveries.
efs
Hey you can use sigma box to restore imei which will cost you around 800 rs,same thing happened for me but still not fixed just using with wifi
If partition can be wiped, then is not read only. If is not read only, should be possible to write backup back. Otherwise, what's the point of the backup?!
Each phone should/must have different IMEI, depending of the network. In theory, should be possible to take partition from one phone and write to another. However, Moto maybe prevents that checking some hash, serial number... If it's possible to write partition from another phone, again question is can those two phones be on the same network in the same time. I also saw a way to change IMEI, I think even on this sub forum.
If someone solve this problem I definitive pay to that sir, he would be rich In the first day..

I need a backup from a rooter phone. The file itself. XDA has stated a method to get it but it's already lost for me so no way to get it. There's the way.
-Now when you lose IMEI first try this method. Now take the MPDB_001 file which you took backup at the first step and navigate through
Root explorer to this location ->ROOT->DATA->NVRAM->MD->NVRAM->NVD_IMEI.
I'm really begging you to make that backup and send it to me so i can use it to restore my imei address..
Bro don't worry P8K is a MediaTek device and you can easily restore your IMEI from MTK engineer mode even if you have lost it. I have myself lost it x number of times but was always able to restore it either by flashing stock ROM or via MTK engineer mode. Google it and you will get the process.
Hello I had Protax installed everything ran perfectly. But I installed the stockrom again. But then my IMEI was 0. I installed LineageOS and my IMEI was still 0. So I installed Xposed with an IMEI changer and changed my IMEI. And when I * # 06 # calls is also my right IMEI there. But in the settings my IMEI is 0. I can not make any calls or log in to the network. What can I do?
I think you cant do anything without efs partition backup
hi !
have you tried to flash a firmware with odin ? but with "re-partition" for a full restoration...
Or by a PC ,with smart swift or kies you have a process of restoration after a fail and errors...
i had that issue with my old s2 and a technique in a store got it fixed i gave him the box and he did it
