Dear XDA followers,
primarily I would to mention my full satisfaction of my device, the ASUS ZenFone ZE551ML (4GB of RAM).
Unfortunatelly, whenever I try to record a video into an environment with a low noise in background (i.e. TV powered on, someone who talks quietly or if I try to register some voice in the distance) I hear like an attenuate sound and it's impossible to recognize who are talking in it.
I'm using the last version of ASUS PixelMaster Camera.
I tried to use other apps but the problem persists.
I've looked in the web to find a solution but uselessly.
It could be a bad manage of the automatic gain control which doesn't work well.
If you have some suggestion for this annoying system, please contact me.
Thank You in advance for Your future answer.
Kind regards,
Angelo

hi guys,
I was wondering if you guys who allready got the G3, could test the audio recirding quality,
what I mean is, G2 has a problem with noise cancelation microphone, and very often (allways) video recording sounds distorted, like underwater, cutouts, blanks, etc etc. '
is that problem still persistent with the G3, as the camera module is the same, so nto sure if they used the same microphones as well..?
please get back to me with this, I know that the majority of users wont notice this while playing recording on a cell phone, but when you play ot on a tv or laptop, the issues is very very big
seriously, no one has G3?
The audio recording in my opinion is great.

There is another thread on here somewhere with regards to this, sorry I don't have the link.
I haven't tested it yet myself, waiting for an opportunity to be in a loud club or something to give it a whirl.
Also search YouTube there may be some videos on there by now.

Thank for your answer you have the same problem..
Same issue here... I'm getting very nervous about that
How do we bring this up to asus? I believe it is a software issue because it happens accross the different zen2 variants n not limites to only one variant.
I dont have sync issues... Both Audio/Video as well as time syncs perfectly... I am using ZE551ML with 2.15.40.10 pre-rooted...Videos playing from MX Player Pro and Audio files from PlayerPro..
Hmm, perhaps the higher end models r not affected...so far i can confirm from two devices. Ze500cl n ze550ml 16gb
Please check for latest system updates or when the next update becomes available. To optimize memory and performance go to:

Who have a solution ?
And thank for the answer asus
Thanks asus, i hve checked in the zentalk forum n many other ppl having same problem, still no fix. Some says that rebooting will fix it for some time. But it will eventually come back. I noticed aft rebooting the problem video audio sync problem was minimised. But for instagram it will still stop n loop the audio only
Theres a new update that fixed this! So far soo gud!
Zenfone 2 video lagging
For those people people suffering from video lagging on facebook and instagram, just disable audio wizard and change battery settings to optimized.

Surprisingly, I disabled developer options and it works fine.
Today I downloaded a dB meter app from Play Store, and I wondered why it didn't work, then I found out that it wasn't the app's problem but the phone's.
I tried other apps from Play Store that use the mics including Recforge, Sound Recorder, etc but still no sound signal coming from the mics, and yes, calling doesn't work. (Using headphone/earphone with plug-in jack works.)
An interesting finding is that when I tested with Shazam, after I pressed the turning Shazam logo, it almost immediately told me that no song was found, it was like whenever the app detects dead silence in the first 1 sec, it just gave up listening any longer.
I was using BlissPop so I switched back to stock-based SuperZen, suspecting it is ROM related problem but still no luck, still dead silence
Then I even switched to Latest WW Official Stock, but when I get into the test menu via the calculator app and performed the two mic tests, both of them failed. (I'm sure that it is not the speaker's problem)
So, I wonder if I can safely say that the phone's microphones are hardware dead now, if it is true maybe I will be sending the phone to repairment later next week. Or is it possible that it is some deep level software problem that I'm not aware of?
I have doubt because all other components are working except the two mics, and I think it is pretty abnormal for two components at two different side(top and bottom) of the phone to hardware malfunction at the same time. (Also because of the Shazam app's behaviour)
Thank you.

Hi, have you resolved the issue?
Hi comcraizer,
did you find a solution to this?
Thanks.

I also have a problem with mic in Skype only when using speaker phone, regular phone works fine with speaker phone. This happens only with the mm bootloader on every ROM, worked fine on lp bootloader with any ROM. Anybody else have this issue?
Hello everyone, this post is to show my problem and find out if anyone has a solution. I bought my LG G5 Sprint second hand (used) and I had a problem that I thought was a system, this problem I'm talking about, is that I can not hear anything with the cell phone, no calls, no multimedia, no notifications, Hearing aids, that is, completely without audio, someone tells me if there is a way to reinstall the system and fix it, or it is a board problem. I also have problems with playing videos on YouTube, recording audio, recording video, every time I try one of the actions mentioned above, the application stops working and I have to go home, or forcibly close it. Do you think it would be solved by changing boards? Attached images of the system, and the problem on YouTube.
I install the V8 version, with Uppercut program, but nothing change.
Thanks in advance!
Hi.
I have been using this forum for years but this is the first time I started a thread so I hope it hasn't been answered before. I did a search but didn't see anything that matches my query.
I have a Sony bravia XF9005 running android 7 and I haven't updated android since I bought it.
I was trying to get a video conferencing app to work on the TV because I had been using screen mirroring from apps on my phone but the quality was hit and miss and it wasn't as convenient as doing it directly on the TV.
I have managed to get Skype Lite, Zoom and Jami onto the TV and used TV App Repo to create shortcuts for them in the launcher.
I have connected a logitech C270 webcam to the TV and got it to work for video. I got this working by switching the TV to pro mode and running Skype which then connected to the camera. When I switch back to normal TV mode Skype, Zoom and Jami all work fine with the camera but the audio mic built-in to the camera is not working.
I got around this problem by connecting a USB mic to another USB port on the TV and it works well when I can get the apps to connect to it. The mic I am using is a Blue Yeti.
In Skype lite if I make a video call to another Skype account everything seems fine until both devices are connected but then I have no audio from the Yeti. I have found a quick way around this is to make an audio call to the other device, the yeti is recognised and the audio works perfectly, then I just switch on the video and both work fine. It is the same for receiving a Skype call, if I answer with video the Yeti doesn't work but if I answer as audio only it works fine, then I can just switch the video on and it's all good again. I'm not too bothered about this as the workaround is easy enough.
In Zoom I have been able to get it to work well with both the camera and the mic but there are problems with it too. When I first installed the latest Zoom app and started a meeting it asks me for permission to use my video and my audio. When I give permission both work perfectly and I have had 4 devices in a meeting with no problems at all. As long as I don't close the app I can go from meeting to meeting with no problem but when I close the app and open it again I have no audio from the Yeti. I found a workaround on this as well but it is not as easy as the Skype one. Before I open Zoom I go to the app settings and permissions and disable the microphone permission for Zoom. Then when I create a meeting the app asks me for the mic permission and everything works perfectly again.
I have gone into the developer options and changed the Select USB Configuration to Audio Source. I have also allowed zoom to automatically switch on the sound in one of its settings but neither has made any difference. It seems like after the app is closed it doesn't recognise the mic on the next use.
Is there a way of automatically disabling a permission for an app after the app is closed or does anyone know of another workaround. I know that the apps aren't designed to work on the Android TV version of Android but bar these little problems they do work well.
I haven't really played around with Jami as much as the others so I haven't looked to see if I can get the audio working with it but the video works fine. I also tried the normal Skype app but it tends to turn itself into portrait mode when you are making calls or changing settings whereas the Skype Lite app runs perfectly in landscape all the time and it is much quicker too.
I was going to try Tellybean but I haven't got around to it yet plus most people already know Skype and now Zoom whereas I'm not sure how wide Tellybean is known.
Thanks for any help.
Hmm, a difficult situation. Have you solved this problem yet? A friend of mine works with conferences on https://brightvisionevents.co.uk/conferences / and he often gives me advice about my work because I often use conferences. I had a similar situation. Most likely, this is an incorrect operation of the microphone drivers. I think either reinstalling Windows or removing the microphone drivers and installing them from the official website of your Blue Yeti microphone can help you. I hope my advice helped you and you will solve your problem. Write if you have succeeded in everything, maybe it will help someone. Good luck!
