i have noticed that a few people have had an issue with their lg g4 and half of the screen going blank.
has there been any confirmed way of fixing the issue eg. loose connection or complete screen replacement??
My lg has this issue and i have sent it to LG to try and get warranty but as the bootloader has been unlocked they wont repair it. so i am wanting to know if anyone has fixed the issues them selves, if so what was done.
thanks in advance

I JUST got my LG G2 from sprint less than 4 hours ago and as soon as i got home i rooted it using ioroot25 that i found somewhere online (if its important i can dig up the link but figure its probably irrelevant) and installed TWRP recovery, made a backup, not a single issue, then all of a sudden half hour later i pick it up and turn it on and the screen is mostly white with yellow lines (that move/respond to touch and whats supposed to be going on on the screen) and it will not show any sort of picture just kinda yellow fuzz lines...it looks just like some phones ive seen with cracked/ faulty LCDs but if i hold the power button and up or down to hard reset it, the LCD starts working again upon boot, and continues to work untill the LCD turns off for the first time after booting and i try to wake the phone again, every time i turn the screen on when its on it goes back to fuzzy lines with no way to make it start working other than restarting the phone with the buttons on the back.
anybody ever seen anything like this before? it cant be a broken or cracked lcd cuz when it first boots it shows a crystal clear screen and everything works fine untill the first time the screen turns off...im guessing i am more than likely going to end up making a trip back out to the sprint store tomorrow for a manufacturer defect replacement? any insight into this strange problem would be greatly appreciated!

Faced similar problem with LS980
I am also facing similar problem with LS980.
Only additional mistake i have made is -
I have installed TWRP recovery for D802 instead of LS980(Seller labeled it as D802). After reboot into recovery mode, My lcd showing only lines.
Any suggestion/help ?
hey guys just wondering if you guys could help. I think its a hardware issue as my phone does get alerts, calls and such even though the screen is black. I was able to factory reset it using Device manager, and it seems that it did work. What would be the issue and what would i need to replace to get my screen working

U might try in asscessibility settings somewhere. Are u rooted and custom rom or modified? If so i always say to try going back stock first and tring unmodified u may have altered or disable something that is dependent on it. If stock unrooted. Its either in a setting shutoff. Or bug in firmware. Try factory reset or again try reflashing what ever firmware ure on only. Dont go up or down. If still dont work something in hardware.
We got a fella in the note5 threads stock unrooted and multi touch quit working. Ended up being from a fall and screen replacement the flex plug was only plugged in enough to barely work only reconized 2 touches.
Hi, from last six months my Lg G4 h815 started showing random black screen. Meanwhile the screen is black the phone keeps running (music, leds, messages). Sometimes I lock the phone, then I unlock and display turns on, sometimes not. I face this problem only in stock MM fw, not AOSP or LL. What can I do? Thanks
I have exactly the same issue... I returned it to LG (it is still on warranty time), but with a random issue, I think I'll have a random fix lol.
Did you found any solution ?
Long story short, after I received my LG G4 back from assistance because of the bootloop problem, I noticed that I can't turn bluetooth on, the button moves correctly but within second it turns off on its own. I would like to avoid sending in the phone another time since I rooted and unlocked it and it would be an hassle to explain that this problem is not caused by me. The bluetooth was working just fine before, but then they changed the motherboaard and erased all data on it and I'm afraid they could have messed up with something hardware related. What can I do to try to fix it software-wise? If it is impossible to fix it software-wise, could be worth a try to let it be repaired by those "chinese" (nothing offensive, I just don't know how to call them) street phone-fix shops? Thanks in advance, best regards
