So i bought Xperia M5 a month ago and i love the phone and it has a grate thing ability to change themes i was always crazy about themes. Now there is a lot of themes online and on Google play especially on XperiaBlog anf with these themes you can change NavBar/Soft buttons/Navigation button. But in my case i can't at least not with all, themes that are made by Sony works fone well maybe two or three don't but others from online/XperiaBlog don't work, the wallpaper and all other stuffs changes except NavBar,So is anybody else having this issue or just me?
Trying to do this on Xperia M5 E5603 from 2016,lollipop 5.1.1 30.1.A.1.33 (that's the latest update for my CDA/SI code)Thanks

Hi,
recently, I have upgraded my Xperia Arc S to the official sony android 4.0 rom for 2011 xperias, which is quite nice.
But today (21st June, 2012), Sony released a new android update for the Sony Xperia S, which is different from the android 4 for my arc. Here is the video about it: youtube.com/watch?v=i189IkIvJc0&feature=player_embedded
I noticed that among everything else, Xperia S got 3 new awesome apps: "Walkman", "Album" & "Movies." The "Messaging" app also got updated with useful new features [shown in video at 2:45]. Would anybody be willing to make these 4 apps available on other Xperia phones as well?
dude we already have walkman and messaging app..and hopefully remaining apps will be available soon
and this topic is already being discussed in general section...
Could you add a link to the section about those 2 apps please?
go to this thread and see .. there is discussion going on about these new apps & how they work on Xperia 2011 model ICS versions.
go to this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1723986
Thanks!

Somebody please make an Android 4.4.2 KitKat Rom with all the Sony Apps like Walkman, Cybershot, Album, Honami Home etc including its framework. . . It would really be nice if Aroma is also included like in Nature Xperia Advance v3.2 International Edition ROM. . . Carbon Rom makers or Paranoid Android Developers or anyone.
I tried many different Rom's but I found none of them stable. All has got some problem or the other...
It would really be cool if someone does make one with all the Sony Apps.

I was in the same boat as you, but ever since I moved to BeanStalk, I don't really miss anything from Sony, except the Small Apps. I am in the process of trying to port (following the CM11 guide) the Small Apps on the BeanStalk. If I successfully manage to do that, I am in heaven!
Google camera is just as good as the Sony stock one.
The Apollo is also just as good, not to mention the built-in DSP for the headphones, which is fantastic.
Even with the stock ROM, I used QuickPic, since it is quicker than the built-in Gallery.
The ROM is fully customisable, and I moved from Google's Home to NOVA launcher... the phone is just flying!
The only other thing which I "ported" from the Sony stock and I love is the "Top contacts" widget. I used Titanium backup to restore the app and behold it worked straight away!
I actually just discovered HALO!
It is included in the BeanStalk version. It is quite similar to SmallApps from Sony. It is not quite as elegant, BUT it also has a major advantage!
You can fire app ANY app on your phone as a SmallApp!
I am fully converted now!
If you have xperia ion...this is what you need, it includes small apps too

I Believe he is looking for the Xperia S lt26i 4.4.2 Sony Apps as I am.
I got the Xperia Z2 4.4.2 deodexed rom from it´s forum but I don´t know which files the Sony Framework requires and what kind of modification I should do to it.
Anybody know a way to make a Flashable zip of it?
Hi,
I really like cm11 compares to the default Sony interface on the xperia z1 compact. Unfortunately I have run into a bit of an issue with the mobile hotspot feature. It works perfectly on stock Sony but on cm11 it appears to create the mobile hotspot first time round but subsequent times it appears that it has created the hotspot, I can even see it on other devices, but devices will time out after a while and never connect.
I am new to android, but I have found in /system/app and priv-app on the stock Sony ROM a bunch of different things to cyanogenmod11. Should I be borrowing any apk files from Sony to update the drivers or something on cm11?
Thanks for your time.
Try a different 4.4.4 ROM like Pacman ROM.
Or go stock and use different launcher and a theme

The reason to make this experiment beacuse I have problem with the original contacts app, that force close every time I open phone/contacts app.
So I looked for another phone app - True Phone, I like this app a lot, so I would like to replace it with the original one, so that I can go directly to phone book at the lock screen.
But after trying to freeze original phone app will lead to freeze original contacts app to be frozen the same time.
And I am not able to make the True Phone to be system app (strange! I could do that in other phone), so now I have to keep the original one together with True Phone which is a little waste of rom...

And m5 has so little RAM to waste?! Phone.apk shouldn't freeze or stop responding, so try clearing data on both phone and contact storage, but backup contacts first 'cause cleaning data on contact storage erasers all contacts. If you already did try this and didn't work you can try to repair your phone with Xperia Companion, but unroot the phone before trying to repair...Good luck

It was not functioning before updating the phone OS, but everything back to normal after a successful update, but I missed the black phone interface for now.

Since moving to the XA1 ULTRA from the z3 i noticed the ultra doesn't have one of the best features that the z3 had, the gallery widget. is there a way to install it again? ive looked at 3rd party widget apps for gallery but they are trash. also the record screen option in power menu is gone. why is sony pulling a apple and removing great features?
I'm in the same boat. I received my xa1 ultra on the 3rd and I was previously on a z3. We lost a lot of the best features. Beside what you mentioned, no more answering machine, no small apps, and no ps4 remote play. No windows drivers for the xa1 ultra from Sony either, just the other 3 xa models. I had to modify the inf file to make it apply the driver, but it works now.
I'm sure there's more I'll find but the answering machine was my favorite. Now ill have to get back to working on mine unless I can figure out how to port it. Have you rooted yet? If so, have you tried replacing,or installing, the apks from the z3 onto the xa1u?
