Phone will not boot. Starting phone, makes it to the optimizing app # of 26. The first number varies, but it never makes it through the full count without rebooting. I can not boot in safe mode. I have used Odin to re-flash stock firmware 5.1.1 successfully and also factory reset after flashing. the problem still exists.

I bought the phone with this issue. I thought I could simple resolve it with a clean install via Samsung Smart Switch.
I tried Stock Firmware via Odin and Smart Switch, Custom ROM via TWRP and all other Recoveries.
It would be nice to see what the phone actually does while booting.
I dont have a clue what is actually wrong. MAybe hardware, but which part...? hmm

Check if power button do not sticks. To clean use alcohol. Pull battery out, little drop on power button, press couple times. Dry with hair dryer for 2-3min. Put battery back and power on. Let us know.

Most of the screen still works and i can touch it and get feedback but it's mostly black. I guess this is for any phone but I need advice. It's rooted and I have a customm rom on it. I have a warranty on it and want to get it replaced. I purchased triangle away and have it installed but not being able to see makes it hard to use.
What do I need to do to make it good to send back for a replacement?
You could boot into download mode and Odin back to stock.

I used it over a year ago.. but basically you dont need to run anything on android. You need to have the computer set up to use adb, which means having the android sdk, ur phone drivers, and getting adb to recognize ur phone (adb devices on the command line should show ur phone when you connect by usb cable)
Then screencast will show ur screen on ur computer and u can use a mouse & keyboard. Note: you cannot use this in download mode or recovery! But maybe u can manage to do what u need via odin and screencast.
By the way, after you get this working you should download droid explorer. It includes screencast and a bunch of other tools and a UI to transfer files via adb. Here: http://de.codeplex.com/

Warranty won't cover you dropping it anyways. You can send it back for insurance and pay the deductible and it won't matter that it's rooted. Can even say you lost it. But they will charge you for that warranty does not cover. I learned on my s3

It has been rumored that Samsung will not warrant the device if it is bricked but if the power button breaks they would most likely repair it.

Hi
I dont know what really happen to your device but here some things that might help.
1. Get the latest twrp zipfile should be 2.6.3
2. Unpack in a New directory on your PC - in this directory should be 2 files - one ODIN and one TWRP
3. Use the ODIn in that new directory only this Odin version will work.
4 load the TWRP file into ODIN
5 The only Oding Setting which should be changed is the Auto Re-Boot Option switch it off.
6 Than start the Load Process be patient can Take up to 6 Min.
This works i did it myself if any further question feel free to ask - ih this has helped a thanks would be nice-
Good Luck

Post #55 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3114290
I used the latest CF Auto Root to re-root it, then installed the TWRP app from the Play Store, then was able to successfully reinstall TWRP. Now I'm booting to an AOSP ROM.
Figured since it's a brand new OS (Marshmallow; 6.0), it'd be nice to have a thread with all info on root/mods/recovery/ROMs/etc. Share your info guys on what works/doesn't work! :good:
1. First and foremost, the MM 6.0 100% stock TAR. Thanks so much @Sunderwear
2. Sadly, we still do not have a recovery that supports this new update (the TWRP 3.0 doesn't work unfortunately).
3. Root by flashing this TWRP in Odin, then flashing SuperSu 2.68 in recovery!
4. No mods/ROMs yet for Sprint S6 MM.
Has anyone got root already ?

i flashed back the stock 5.1.1 OL1 freshly, then updated to MM 6.0.1 right away without installing anything.
anything went right except no signal. i cant make call or sms...
All you should have to do is flash TWRP in Odin...which is still compatible with the update and then flash SuperSU 2.68.

Have you tried going to options in Odin and turning off the auto reboot feature first before flashing TWRP. And then when it says pass...you manually reboot into TWRP...by holding the volume down and power button until it turns off and then hold the button combo for recovery.
