I've owned 3 Samsung devices and never had an issue. I downloaded the cf auto root and tried flashing it as instructed through Odin 3. I had already installed twrp before all this. It wasn't rooting properly and now it won't boot and isn't recognized in Odin anymore and I can't get into twrp. Please help!

dont you still have TWRP installed?
Can you get in TWRP?
Try to hold power button until it turns off. Then turn it back on

You can root using TWRP, I was able to root mine. I think thats in the advanced settings option

Used the gooim app. I actually got it booted now. Left in the charger for a while and tried Odin avian and it surprisingly recognized it. And oddly enough... Now I'm rooted. But now I wanna know how to go back completely stock and wipe the flash count. Any advice?

I think you can get them if you install stock recovery.

install using odin if you dont have root

I dont know what really happen to your device but here some things that might help.
1. Get the latest twrp zipfile should be 2.6.3
2. Unpack in a New directory on your PC - in this directory should be 2 files - one ODIN and one TWRP
3. Use the ODIn in that new directory only this Odin version will work.
4 load the TWRP file into ODIN
5 The only Oding Setting which should be changed is the Auto Re-Boot Option switch it off.
6 Than start the Load Process be patient can Take up to 6 Min.
This works i did it myself if any further question feel free to ask - ih this has helped a thanks would be nice-

Nope. Twrp never actually installed using gooim. I used Odin instead

So I was running Slimbean 6.2 weekly with ktoonez 6.8 kernel and decided to go into recovery (CWM Touch 6.0.3) to fix permissions and clear cache since I was having some battery drain issues. After I hit fix permissions it started to do so and then all of a sudden my phone rebooted and gets stuck at the splash screen. Went back into recovery to try and fix permissions again same thing happens. Tried clearing cache and doing a normal reboot still stuck at splash screen. I tried doing a factory reset but it keeps rebooting right when it gets to formatting data. So essentially I can do anything aside from format data so I am guessing there's some corrupt file there that's keeping me from formatting it. I've tried installing different ROM's that I have on my SD card but they always get stuck at the splash screen. Doing a restore doesn't work as once it gets to restoring data the phone reboots. I checked report error or something along those lines in CWM Advanced and it said can't format /emmc which I'm not sure what that means.
I've looked around but haven't been able to find any information on how to fix this. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Ok go into CWM wipe cache, wipe dalvik and do factory reset. Then flash any rom which you have on your phone storage. Does this work?

nope it keeps rebooting when CWM goes to wipe data
Start from scratch. Install 4.1.2 Stock and flash ROM of your choice.

i've already tried flashing different roms, which i can install but they all get stuck at the splash screen for that ROM.

You never mentioned you started over by installing 4.1.2 Stock and then tried flashing ROM again, only that you went into recovery numerous times. Download Mode and Odin to Stock is what I was getting at. Then... Flashing 4.2.2

Ah I'm sorry, misunderstood what you were referring to. I haven't used Odin since I first rooted the phone a year ago. I imagine its rather self explanatory to use ?

Even better, download one of the Odin 1-clicks. Connect your phone, open the 1-click and stand back while it does its magic.

Click that and it will start downloading. When it's finished, connect your phone while in download mode and then run the .exe

so I used the one click odin file but it didn't do anything that I can tell. All it seemed to do was check the md5 sum which came back successful and thats it. Do I need a stock rom file as well with this? Sorry for the noob questions

Negative. You're rooted. Just on stock. I'd redownload all files you want to flash to be on the safe side.

Since you still have the bootlogo, you can boot in download mode and use Heimdall or Odin to reinstall the OS
Do you have a custom recovery installed?

I'd leave it plugged in overnight first to be sure it gets at least a good 40% of charge.
Assuming you use Windows (any XP or above will work, even on a Pentium 3 as long as it has USB2):
Download the MB4 firmware (it comes in 3 pieces, effectively meaning it contains a complete image and will work regardless of previous OS). Extract the CODE, CSC and .PIT files.
If you haven't installed and used Kies or Odin before, install the USB drivers.
Extract and open Odin.
Hold down [Volume -]+[Home]+[Power] until you get "Warning - a custom OS can cause problems...", release all buttons and press [Volume +]. The screen should change to "ODIN MODE ... Do not turn off target".
Connect the cable: after drivers install you'll see the first square under "Odin3 Model Name" lighting up.
Click the large PIT button and open the .pit, then PHONE for CODE and CSC for CSC :cyclops:
On the left side, select "Auto reboot", "Repartition" and "F reset time", no more no less.
Click the Flash button and wait 5 minutes
After that you can use Odin to install a newer stock firmware or load CWM and a custom rom.

I went to cyanogenmods website and ran the installer as directed. That installed cyanogenmod and rooted the device automatically, then you can download and flash any of the other custom ROMs on this site.
I rooted 4.3 with allinone toolkit clicking older variation and worked fine

My note 2 is blocking the cyanogenmod installer. It says unartherized access to a secured area on your phone without authorization has been blocked.
I'm stumped just got this phone and it is a pain to root

2. Connect to pc and use odin to flash twrp. Make sure you uncheck reboot and flash twrp in the pda slot.
3. Once flashed pull battery and disconnect from pc.
4. Press vol+ menu power buttons while inserting battery (yes it is difficult but can be done)
5. Now in recovery perform factory reset.

7. Now reboot it will act/look weird but dont worry this is normal. It will reboot and take a long time to boot.
Now you are on stock mc2 (no knox anymore). Root using cf autoroot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33278464
Now use odin once again and flash your recovery again. Now you are rooted and have a custom recovery. Oh and you have a working phone again.

Everything seemed to be working ok except I couldn't get any phone signal but wifi worked. I tried loading the dirty unicornes rom and the same thing happened . I then flashed cm 10.1 and the phone worked for calls but the asop keyboard kept crashing and couldn't login to the wifi network. I tried several installs with factory resets with the same results. If I follow the directions you listed will I be able to install these roms and the phone work for calls or am I missing another piece of the puzzle?

Look for it in the development thread. The op will have a link. Use 6.07.9 version and make sure it has a zip extension not md5.

I've been reading a LOT about rooting for the past few weeks and understood everything perfectly and I DO know how to recover my phone from accidental soft bricks but whenever I boot to download mode and run odin i start shaking and end up doing nothing..I really want to root but Im too scared..what do you think I should do?

Root it man,there is nothing to fear. If you doing it exactly how it writen in instructions,there is nothing to worry about. just don`t plug off your phone and let it complete. It`s last ~ 10 sec,and you`ll be good

This isnt going very well with me..I just tried flashing philz touch and it said reset instead of pass? nothing happened to my phone (can still open my phone and all) but i panicked when i saw that message.. any idea?
Stock ROM flashes stock recovery on boot, that's why Philz doesn't stick.

You used Autoroot,or what?
Odin sometimes stucks on RESET,it`s not telling you that something went wrong. Start worry if you see FAIL

No man, you lose it when you flash official samsung rom, then your device will be able to get OTA updates from samsung. So called " Unroot "

I’m having an issue with a Samsung tab 3 10.1 and done help would be much appreciated. I have tried to follow done guides but haven’t been that successful.
I have purchased a tab that is stuck in mgm/retail mode and the seller is no longer getting back to me to return it.
I believe that is a way to use Odin and flash the device in download mode.

I believe that is a way to use Odin and flash the device in download mode.
The problem I have is finding the file to do this with? A point in the right direction would be much appreciated

What extension is ur file?
I’m not 100% sure but I have used the file on another tab and it worked.

What are you trying to do? Are you using stock ROM from https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-tab3/firmware/#GT-P5210 page ?

Thanks for the reply, i've downloaded what you have sent over but i can't find a .tar file to send to the device via odin.
I'm trying to reflash the device to factory settings.

This ROM is in a format supported by TWRP.
So you could in short:
- install TWRP using ODIN https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...covery-twrp-3-x-samsung-galaxy-tab-3-t3340938
- install ROM using TWRP, you can install stock or custom ROM

I found another site with roms https://samsung-firmware.org/pl/model/GT-P5210/, maybe here will be the ROM in format supported by ODIN.

Ok so i've tried to install TWRP using Odin - No Joy
So now i'm unsure where to go from here as i cant put TWRP on the device to install the ROM?
No the flash did not reset to factory settings, this is the trouble im having no rom will flash the device, feel like banging my head against a wall.

Which guide did you follow? I am asking becouse it should work, strange.
Steps in short:
- Enter download mode Volume Down + Home button + Power button.
- Start ODIN
- Flash TWRP
- Enter recovery mode Volume Up + Home button + Power button
- Flash ROM from zip
Or with ROM in ODIN compatible format:
- Enter download mode Volume Down + Home button + Power button.
- Start ODIN
- Flash ROM
Ok so I have done exactly that with two stock rims and I’m still having the same issue. Don’t know where to go from here. Could I root it, would that work?
