Annoying Screen Rotation Issue

If I have the hardware keyboard out and the phone goes into sleep mode and I close the phone, when I hit the power button, I get the issues shown in the attached images. It won't respond to anything unless I open out the keyboard and close it again or, tap on the notification area and close the notification screen. No issues if the phone is not allowed to sleep.
Don't want to hard reset if I can avoid it, anyone else had this issue?
I have never seen my device do this, but I don't think I have ever let my device go to sleep while in landscape.
To avoid this, why don't you just change your backlight settings? While on battery power, set the backlight to turn off if idle for 5 minutes or something. This way you'll never have it fall asleep on you. Unless of course you read extremely slow and a page takes 5 minutes.
Was thinking about increasing the backlight settings for a bit longer. I had that situation by chance last night and tried various things, uninstalling software, bluetooth head set, changed radio, hard reset and even task29 and a new flash, still same issue.
Just starting to get fed up with these little annoyances, would be nice if it just worked, lol.
Wow that's rather odd that you did a hard reset and still had the issue. That would suggest that it is most definitely device specific. Maybe you can call your carrier, and if it's your lucky day they can replace your phone. ??
Why no try Energe ROM, It has no such problem.

Lg Optimus V Emergency Recovery Mode Walkthrough

So I'm planning on testing partition sizes and I want to start w/ stock. Good thing is I haven't found a good walkthrough for using the Emergency Recovery mode, so I will tell you my experience. If it works great, if not you can learn from me. I have a Nandroid backup, and a Titanium Backup. I feel prepared and confident.
I have KDZ (KDZ_FW_UPD_EN) and the stock cab (VM670ZV4_13.S4_13.P61007)
I've read shabby walk-through-esque deals...
but it's disenchanting how it starts with,
"NO ONE should try this. No one. Not ever. Don’t do this. This will brick your phone."
but again I feel confident in my abilities now so let's see how it goes
Battery out; Power + vol down + back (very hard to push and plug in usb, but it's possible)
I'm not interested in shaking the phone.
After win 7's driver notification sound goes off a few times and disabling the LGE CDMA USB Modem in device manager, I watched to make sure it didn't re-enable after the drop/add driver sound. It's all good.
CDMA pulldown in KDZ wasn't pulling anything, tried 3GQTC and nothing popped up. When I selected "Read Phone Info" in 3GQTC info was pulled up then KDZ locked up, but I saw it said the battery didn't have enough charge, so I put the batter back in.
Checked device manager again....all good.
So just to test I shook phone vigorously in CDMA Emergency, CDMA CS_Emergency, 3GQCT CS_Emergency, and 3GQCT Emergency.
Just to see what happened I tried to use Lg's software updater....no bueno, couldn't communicate...no harm no foul...
And so then, while the battery was out, the usb cable came unhooked. I gasped, but after turning phone on all is good.
I will try again soon.

For now, the firmware put out by LG doesn't load in any of the updaters. It is assumed to be broken.
Started on something else, I'll come back later
I really want to figure it out, but I'll come back to it later.

[Q] question about brick

well like a 2 months ago i bought a new s3 and it was having a issue with interaction function like when you are texting and put it on the ear it call immediately to the you were texting well then i just root the phone and nothing had change so i just install some apps to try to modify the functions but it didnt work then i just think to use recovery and back the phone to default factory configs but my sorprise when i just leave the phone on the table installing the old software but when i back the phone it didnt turn on, just off (i dont remember how much battery the phone had and i think this is why the phone have this problem) i was scary so i conect the charger to the phone but nothing happens so i investigate and i find "brick" so there´s a way to get back the phone i thought and immediatly call a friend who have a good knowleged about android stuff and i tell him what happen and he say " maybe with jtag resurrection it could get back" but that didnt work he said that is hardware error not software error because when he connect the charger to the phone without battery the led red turns on, but when he put the battery back on the phone it turns off

wifi does not turn on

dropped my phone from a decent height, managed to crack the display but not the glass... guess the shock transferred through the case or something i really dont know. also managed to break wifi, whenever i try to tick the tab in settings it just immediately slides back to off as soon as i take my finger off. it was on oreo and i read that oreo might cause wifi problems so i rolled back to marshmallow, but same problem just slightly different presentation (flick tab, sits at on and tries to turn on for 60 seconds, flicks back to off and posts 'error' in the status line) even here on a fresh ruu.exe install, no modifications at all aside from twrp. any idea what might have happened and how to fix it? ill be taking it apart to replace the screen whenever it shows up so id like to know what to possibly be on the lookout for.
note that its not a problem trying to connect to wifi, wifi literally wont turn on.

LG G7 Dead

Hi All,
While using my G7 Thinq, screen froze & none of the buttons were responding. To reboot the phone, I pressed volume down & power button & G7 switched off. However, while trying to restart, the phone isn't responding anymore. I've tried volume down + Power button, Volume up + Power button, but the phone isn't turning on. I've tried to charge the phone & tried to restart it, but there is no response. Even with the charger on, the phone isn't showing any signs (no activity on screen, no vibration).
I've searched online, there was someone who faced similar issue with his G7. In his case, he was unable to switch off the phone. His battery got discharged in few hours & he was able to recharge the phone & use it. In my case, since phone is switched off, battery may not get discharged for a very long time.
1. Is there a way to completely discharge the battery quickly in switched off mode?
2. Is there a way to reboot the phone?
3. Is there a way to retrieve the data stored on in-built memory?
Before taking the phone to service center, i want to try out whatever i can to save the data. In case service station guys solve the issue, they will surely wipe out the data from phone.
Pls help me
Thanks,
Ankit Jain
Without the phone being on to get the data that requires jtag, but that might be a little out of your league and you will lose warranty.
Try connecting the phone to a computer and see if the pc picks up your phone in a certain mode.
Usually black screen and no sign of power is 9008 mode which its on, but it is stuck and wont switch off

Hi,
I've tried connecting the phone with PC. Its not getting detected. Is there a way around this 9008 mode? My phone is presently out of warranty. I've searched online & haven't heard of many cases like mine. I don't know if this is a manufacturing defect & I should take it up with LG.
I'me pretty much concerned about the data on the internal memory of the phone. In case phone needs to be reflashed, i'm thinking of using a data recovery software to get the data back.
Hi All,
I have taken my phone to LG service. As per them, its processor is gone. All they can do is change the processor, or rather entire motherboard. All data will with it. Moreover, repair cost is more than the new phone itself. I'm pretty disappointed with LG. I don't think I'll buy an LG product in future.
