I was updating the phone LS991 and after reboot, the display was distorted. I rebooted few times with a hope that would fix the screen but now there is no display at all. The phone boots fine, makes sound, i can swipe finger and can hear screen unlock sound, but there is no display. The backlight comes on i can see but screen remains black, just no display. On boot there is not even the LG logo.
Anyone can please help? it was on Marshmallow 6.

I have an international model but I had exactly the same problem. I send it for repair, and they changed the motherboard. It's all good now, everything working good. I had sn505 now the new motherboard is sn602. Which aerial number you have??

Just disassemble the phone yourself and see if the connectors are well connected, reconnecting got the job done on my case

I've got a problem with a OneX I'm trialling for work.
This is a stock device with the latest OTA update applied. I installed Good for Enterprise, activated it, and got my work emails. I opened a PDF attachment which opened for a couple of seconds then the display glitched.
The attached images show what I mean. The display is glitched for every screen. Soft resetting the phone was okay until it started again a couple of minutes later.
Soft resetting a 2nd time was where my real problems started. The phone vibrated as it started, but the display stayed dark. If I tap the power, the touch buttons light up. If I go through the motions of the lock ring and my gesture lock, I feel vibrations of my actions but can't see a thing. If I ring the phone, it rings, the touch buttons light up and the LED blinks. The display stays dark at all times.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on here? It's almost like when a graphic card overheats in a PC.
I would try a hard reset, see what that does, it should fix it as it looks like software problem
Squeeze your phone between thumb and forefinger (on the screen and rear cover) about 1.5-2cm in from the USB port, and slightly below. Let us know if the screen comes back on.

I think your phone is on drugs.
Seriously though, that's the scariest gfx bug I've seen on a phone.
Work were just as surprised as everyone else.
It's been sent back to them so they can talk with Vodafone about just what's happened with it.
In the few days I had it, it's a decent phone. The primary reason for considering the OneX is the screen size, and the fact you can read a PDF clearly on it.

Mine looks exactly the same once Ive had a few whisky's...
I had the exact same problem, so I shipped off my phone to service.
They actually changed the whole motherboard. I got my phone back 2 days ago, and it is working better than ever. Even better than before they changed the board.
My guess; Same problem as me. Busted motherboard. Im waiting to get a reply from the service guys that fixed my phone, so I can get some solid answers about what was actually wrong.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Sebastian

Both, either not charging and charging...
and there's an area in the touchscreen that is untouchable
but when you restart it a couple of times the whole touchscreen will start functioning again...
The touch digitizer might be damaged.. As was in my G too.. To find it out set the brightness to full and check near the bezels.. If you see white light coming near the bezels (the black colour has been somehow scratched away).. Then you need a digitizer replacement

Well, this seems to be software problem if it is specific. Did you try a wipe? Reflashed KDZ?

Did u try to test the touch screen in lg hidden menu .. You can enter it by entering the following in the dialer
3845#*<yourmodel>#
Eg.
3845#*975# for lg e975
3845#*970# for lg e970
In the hidden menu go to device test then individual item test (at the bottom) then. Touch Draw Test..
Now just draw there and see for yourself if the Touch is damaged...
In my case , i couldn't draw at the center of the screen ..

I'm having an issue when making or receiving a call. The screen goes black. Same thing happens if I use Hangouts to make a call. Maybe it's my phone. Never had this problem on MM. And no issues when I use the S7.
It's has something to do with the proximity sensor. When you end a call or want to end the call, lock the phone then unlock it. That should let you unlock the phone with the screen on and end the call. There's no real fix besides not being on the dev preview. Actually you might be able to turn off the screen turning off during the call but I'm not sure.

Tried that with no luck. Only way to get out of the black screen is to double click power to get the camera app to appear, then close it.

That's weird. I've never had it where I had to go to camera. Check to see if you can turn off the proximity sensor. Honestly that issue was why I stopped using the dev preview and swapped back to purenexus.
Ended up flashing back to MM. Tried everything possible to get it to work.
Downloaded the N Dev 3 preview twice (in case of a bad DL).
Tried flashing manually via fastboot twice.
Clean flashed MM then flashed N Dev 3.
Clean flashed MM then took the OTA.
Every time, the same issue happened. Screen went blank when making/receiving a call. Locking the phone by hitting power button didn't work. Sometimes the double click to camera would. Usually needed to power off.
I was having the same issue, I hope in the next release the issue get fixed
I mas with this problem and I just change the screen protetor film
So my phone has had some tumbles during me using it but outside of some cracks the phone was mostly fine.
Sometimes the touchscreen wouldn't respond properly but locking and unlocking the phone always fixed it.
After waking up and using my phone for about 10 minutes, My phone's screen suddenly went black and it won't show anything anymore.
It's not black as in not turning on, because I can see that the backlight turns on. it just doesn't display anything else.
Can this be fixed by just replacing the screen? or is there any other fix, which i doubt
Same here...?
Did you get it repaired. What was the problem..?
Same issue

I am facing the same issue of Screen getting black. The sound keeps on coming but the display turns dark. It gets normal after a restart.
Hi,
I recently clean flashed Pixel Experience 12 plus rom on my Oneplus 5T (dumpling).
(file: PixelExperience_Plus_dumpling-12.1-20220614-1354-OFFICIAL.zip , source : https://download.pixelexperience.org/dumpling )
After that I am facing a serious issue regarding the display.
After screen is locked (by pressing the power button or using tap to sleep feature or screen time out), it does not light up at the time and after unlocking. The screen remains black. But it does not mean that the display is gone or the phone is turned off. Phone works perfectly fine at that stage except the issue. The touch, vibration, sound effects,locking-unlocking (through fingerprint), taking screen shot, notification and call facility etc. works normally.
Sometimes the screen flashes for some millisecond if I try to unlock it repeatedly but it is visible only in the dark room.
To get rid of this state I have to boot the phone in recovery (Orangefox) mode then turn it on or force restart the phone (force restart does not work every time. When it does not work the boot screen also remains black)
Surprisingly, I do not face the problem in fastboot mode or recovery mode. Also when Always On Display is on, I don’t face the black screen issue.
I have followed instructions mentioned in this page https://telegra.ph/How-to-install-Pixel-Experience-11-25
and flashed firmware.zip (whose link is provided on the page) and PE12 plus rom .
Please help to resolve this issue and let me know if you need any further information.
Thank you..
I have got the same issue on my MI A2. after replace display I worked fine with pixel experience. and I moved to stock firmware. that is got the same problem. how to solve that issue?
