[Q] External speaker issues... again

So I'm wondering how many people out there have had issues with the external speaker? This is my second inc that the speaker has blown on. Is this a normal issue? I don't normally use my phone to play music unless it has a aux cable or headphones in.
Kinda lame considering I finally decides to s-off a few weeks ago. Finally got everything set up the way I like it and of course now I have to revert everything back to stock. I don't think it would get past Verizon if the bootsplash has a Android pissing on a Apple

I'm on my second one already. So far so good.

How do you guys keep going through speakers? What are you playing through them that is causing them to break? Is it music with extreme bass or something?
I've had my incredible for 3 months and had no issues what so ever.

Inc 3, month 3. 2nd one arrived with a blown speaker and was the reason why I am on Inc 3.

i went through three of them. on the third i never turned volume past half way. still blew.

Ordered 5 replacement speakers. already On the 1 replacement speaker so far. Yea it voided my warranty but takes like 5 mins to change out. And I don't do well with refurb stuff.

3 inc in 2 months...same thing (blown external speaker) do not play music at all.

Ive been thinking about buying a replacement speaker also. Is it a simple slide in or is there any special tools needed besides torx? An explanation how to do it yourself would be great.

External speaker issues

Is somebody experiencing issues with the external speaker? Everything was normal until suddenly the speaker started to sound like is broken. I am using viper audio and I am not sure if this is making the problem. But, somebody can tell me what can I do?

Actually I realized that my external speaker is damaged (even if I don't know how it happened) in conclusion I decided to buy the the spare part at zandparts. Believe me or not this is a great phone and having a galaxy note 3 too, I prefer this one a thousand of times.

yeah my speaker does the same. now its not working at all...

Yeah, I replaced it by myself and there is a website where you can find the spare parts.

was the speaker on the zenfone2 easy to replace ? I bought a zenfone2 from Eglobal and after 7 weeks speaker as failed

I know this sounds really stupid, but push on the holes on the back cover slightly hard over the mesh, i did this and it worked, weird but hope it helps you aswell

I got scared, because the same thing happened to me and all i had to do was press on the speaker and it worked, on the back press on the mesh and it might work.! hope it helps

My speaker was broken too but it's very easy to replace it and the speaker's price is very low on aliexpress or ebay. I found a how to on ifixit.com

Aha. It seems that i'm not the only one. I replaced the speaker in March in ASUS service center and it breaks again now.

hi all, experiencing same problem with my zenfone 2, sent the device to a local repair shop but they said that problem with the chip on the board.
They changed 2 speakers and same problem, what you guys think ?
The thing is that I could still hear some sound at very high frequency but things such as music or youtube no.

Speaker problem

My zenfone 2 ze551ml model bought in india from flipkart is just 45 days old and it has got a problem, there is a crackling sound while playing any audio from rear speaker from yesterday, i have tried to turn off audio wizard even factory reset the phone but no benefit, what can bw the problem, i have unlocked the bootloader already, if i send this for warranty service shall i be eligible for that, hope u people got me right

I have had my Z2 for three months, I had already replaced the speaker and now the new one is going bad, the speaker just sucks.

4 month and my speaker is still working fine unlocked bootloader using superzen rom

hey mate, where did you find the replacement? same here, crackling and annoying buzzes from the speaker. poor quality overall, even when it was fine.

I purchased it from ebay, takes about 10 minutes to replace, it very easy to do http://m.ebay.com/itm/buzzer-loud-S...e2-repair-replacment-/281792338212?nav=SEARCH

I went to the service center here they said that they don't have the speaker yet so they registered my complaint and told me that when they will receive the speaker they will call me and get it replaced, now just waiting for their call

You can buy a new one on ebay for $6 shipped, I ordered 4 if them, so now I have enough speakers to last me a year.

ZenFone 2 rear speaker sucks
Fitted 3 speakers in 3 weeks they only last a week .us this a fault with the ZenFone 2 speaker??

Old thread but check your speaker for black powder on the outer edges. Its dust thats magnetic/ferrous. Clean it off and you could be good to go.

Is there any accessory for Zenfone 2 (ZE551ml) similar to the Padfone Station?

My Zenfone stopped detecting touches a week ago and when I tried to replace the screen, none of the replacements seemed to work. The diagnosis from the technician was a problem with the main board of the phone (specifically the connector that connects the screen to the board). When I asked for the board, he said the price is 80% of the original cost of the phone. I don't want to spend that much money to repair a phone that got damaged just after one year of usage. I also don't want to just let it go because of a problem with the touch capability.
Are there any accessories like the Padfone station that lets you dock your phone to a tablet with a bigger screen and battery? All the stuff other than the touch screen works. I am using the phone now by connecting a mouse to it. Any help will be much appreciated.

Anyone who has sent their phone out for warranty work: what was the turn around time?

Looking for feedback from people that have had to mail out their Razer phone for warranty work. How long did it take to get it back?
I'm thinking about mailing mine off vs trying to fix it myself.
The issue I'm having is my speakers are crackling, even post "audio update" that reduced volume by around 30%. I can't get above 3\4 volume without having the speakers start crackling. What's strange is the crackle seems to be worse when orienting the phone to the side vs upright.
Both of them are doing it. Not sure if they are just dirty or they are blown, but when I first got my phone I would play most things at full volume often. I thought about pulling the speaker grills off since I read that sometimes the adheasive loosens and things vibrate but I wasn't sure how I was going to re stick them back down. Can't find replacement grills anywhere. Or replacement speakers for that matter. So I was going to send it in.

11 days round trip to Germany from UK ended up with factory replacement

The first time i sent my phone there it took 4 days to come back but the second time it took around 10 days. I asked why and they said "limited supplies" now i had sent 2 phones and both had speaker problems. The first was a heavily cracking bottom speaker after 3 weeks of use. The second one was both speakers weakening but not cracking and the third one has the same problem which is weird given that they advertized the speakers as good. Hopefully they fix this because i wanna buy razer phone 2
