I need to recover in TWRP, everything was OK, till boot, my stock dialer is missing, looks like not installed. Is there option to recover dialer without factory reset?
LG G3 16Gb without brand, euro version, root and TWRP.
Thanks
Problem seems to be solved, fortunately I've other backup, after recover from this file everything works fine again.
Amazing, hard reset didn't help, lol

I've searched and tried all the applicable solutions, but nothing is working.
I flashed (successfully I might add) task650's AOKP ROM (clean wipe). When I discoverd that I flashed it without flashing the gapps file, I went back and flashed that. then I realized all my contacts and spps were gone and I tried to reinstall. I made a Nandroid backup, but somewhere along the way I screwed up. I tried a restore from CWM but I think I messed it up.
At first I thought I had a hard brick, but i am now able to get into Download. I've tried to re-install a fresh boot .tar but nothing is working.
anyone point me in the right direction. its bad enolugh i lost all my contacts and have to restore all my apps/settings, but a dead phone is depressing.
well that was fortuitous! I managed somehow to get into Recovery finally. Don'tsk, I don't know how....did a factory reset...and now everything is back to how it was before except I lost an app......but my Calendar and Contacts are back....Thank you Google Cloud!
I don't know what I did but i sure would like to know.
I recently rooted my phone and unlocked the boot loader and all that was fine. My phone worked fine after that. I decided to try out a mod for the dotview case, and installed it and it wouldn't work properly so i decided to delete it. First off i removed the mod from the phone's internal storage but it still stayed on the phone. So i decided to do a factory reset. After i did the reset however, i went through all the start-up steps, but once the phone booted up all the software buttons were gone, and i couldn't access the pull down notification shade. Also my background was completely black and wouldn't change when i changed wallpapers. I'm not sure what to do to get the phone back to normal. I dont have any custom software installed besides a recovery.
If anyone could help me with my problem that would be great!
You must have deleted some system files. Factory reset will not restore these. You need to restore the system partition either from a stock nandroid backup or an ruu.
For future reference, never ever mod your phone unless you have a working backup.
Okay so the story is that my LG G3 was rooted and I used Titanuim Backup to delete some of the bloatware without having a backup, and so after deleting some random stuff thatI thought was going to make my phone slower, my homescreen is black. Like, I see pop ups of processes stopping and not working and I don't know what to do. I tried facotry restore and reset but it won't work. I'm not stuck at the factory reset screen because my lg wizard setup keeps on stopping and the homescreen is just black. If nothing works, should I get a new replacement and how much would it cost to replace my lg g3 with a new one. I"m from verizon in case you guys wanna know.
Just flash back to stock. Factory reset doesn't play nice if u already deleted stuff from the system.
Install the flash tool and flash back using the stock kdz or tot and DLL method. There are a few ops about this so I would definitely read through everything first so you understand how to do it.
I wouldn't uninstall apps next time just freeze them via titanium unless you are desperate for the space. Alternatively you could just back up titanium to your SD but the flash tool is a pain sometimes. It will work it just takes time.
Newbie here.
My SGH-T989 was getting stuck at Samsung logo during bootup [tried everything else before odin] so I used Odin (both ver 1.85 and ver 3.09) to flash the phone using stock ROM (4.1.2 from sammobile.com). However it never gets out of the stuck mode so I tried even the older ICS version. The phone still remained stuck so I went back to 4.1.2 version. Again, no change. Tried all these few times and everytime the ROM flashing succeeds but the phone doesn't bootup.
I DON'T want to do a factory reset yet because I want to retrieve the contacts and pictures. So I did research and got contradictory info hence simple newbie questions.
1. By flashing it with stock ROM using odin, did I loose my contacts, pictures etc? I believe the answer is NO. Please confirm.
2. If I root my phone is there a chance that I may be able to recover the phone. It is likely that my stock ROM was just fine from the beginning but something else like an app is causing a problem. In that case even rooting the phone may not change anything. Is this likely or am I missing something?
3. If I attempt to do a custom recovery using CWM or TWRP, is there a chance that I may be able to retrieve my contacts and pictures? Or have I already lost them?
Thanks in advance.
Jay
You will not loose your pictures, they are stored in your phone's Internal SD and WILL NOT be deleted with a factory reset. I do believe, however, that by returning to stock with ODIN, you have lost all of your contacts unless you synched them with google.
The only way to loose your pictures is by formatting (not factory resetting) your phone
I think that's what's causing your problem, you need to do a FULL WIPE and then install a ROM for it to work properly. I do think all your contacts are lost though, so might as well go for it.
Again, your pictures are all safe, you can even enter recovery mode and mount as USB to recover them if you have any doubt.
I have a T-mobile LG G4 and I'm in the US. I did my research, watched videos, and read several threads about rooting... I thought I had it down. I followed the instructions in This thread exactly, to the best of my knowledge. Unfortunately, after my phone rebooted following step 10 (running the root script), it keeps saying "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped working" over and over.
I'm downloading the kdz files to return my phone to stock (hopefully--since I screwed up somehow, following the root instructions). But has anyone had this happen? Know what's causing it? Or how I can fix it besides a factory reset?
UPDATE: Ok, so I got freaked out reading about how returning to an earlier version of stock could brick your phone, so I decided to bite the bullet and do a hard factory reset. When I did, it asked if I wanted to restore from an earlier backup. I thought, "hey, no way it backed up after I just tried to root it, this backup ought to be safe!" and gave it a whirl. Well, when it finished restoring, root checker says I've successfully rooted! What the hell?! So, um... yay?
I have this exact same problem.
I have a tmobile variant and I had root previous(don't remember method I used). I installed the marshmallow rom, and thought it was too sluggish so I restored my device. But then my phone was wack...so I had to do a complete restore using flash tool. After that my phone worked fine, but I had no root. I attempted to use this new program with adb cmd. It worked but now my phone is sluggish the ui crashes, the camera doesn't work, and back buttons. I restored again... then rooted again.... same thing....so I restored AGAIN. I hope anyone can help.
Buuuuump
Bump Bump Bump... sadly this is the only known root I know of soooo #NoRoot4Meh :/
happen to me too..
just go to setting (use the notification shortcut), search for Home in apps (all apps) and then clear data and cache.
helped me to solved this problem, you will need to re-align your icons and apps on the launcher.
