I am currently facing an issue with getting install/update errors for a good majority of the apps. Specifically error 963. I am running the latest Lollipop and the tablet is completely stock. This started occurring recently and it appears to be tied to the latest version of the Play Store. One workaround is to uninstall the updates for the Play Store itself. This works but is only temporary since the Play Store will get updated and the problem starts occurring again. The only other option I discovered is to unmount the SD card and remount after the apps are updated. The SD card is self is currently not being used for anything and I also recently formatted it using the tablet itself. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there any way to correct this problem? Does anyone know why this is occurring?
I confirm I am having a similar issue. I made a post about this today as well
@Title101: the uninstall option for Google play is back (was not there yesterday for me) and updating apps seems to be working again.
I meant to say I have a rooted device....but had done this rooting process many months before this issue.
Reply if your errors went away too...

It appears the issue has gone away. I have moved all the apps over to the SD card and it appears the apps update okay now. Prior to the issue, any app that was on the SD card would be put back to internal storage which was a bit of a pain since I always had to move it back the the SD card. However, now it appears that this not required anymore.
I have thought of rooting the device and using Link2SD. I have held back in the hopes that Samsung will update the OS to Marshmallow and either allow for adoptable storage or the moving to external storage option present in the Galaxy S7/Edge. One question I have is if I root would it be possible to go back the the stock recovery in case an update does arrive at some point? I don't necessarily want to re-flash the image and loose all the data. Currently once the device is rooted, OTA does not work anymore.
Link2SD seems to have issues - it has actually corrupted the 2nd partition I had created on an SD card once, and I'm using it again quite cautiously (I only moved 2-3 apps to the SD card this time versus 10-15 last time). Maybe it depends on the size of the partition or how often the apps (on the SD card) are used, but I am not sure.
So I'd recommend being careful with Link2SD...
But yes, rooting has the advantages + disadvantages you just mentioned...
I tried googling to see if the Tab S gets Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but so far haven't found anything.

I have used Link2SD in the past and do recall running into some issues. Sometimes it would require a re-link and I also noticed boot up was taking way longer then it does now. However, I did have a lot of applications installed to the second partition. Loosing OTA update ability due to rooting was another reason I decided to go back to stock. At this point I am hoping that Samsung does not forget about this tablet and decides to do right by us since it was their flagship tablet not that long ago. The Galaxy S5 came out a few months before our tablet and it's getting Marshmallow so hopefully our tablet will be next.
We might just be next, check it out (it's not that official though...)

Hello guys, i am having a problem, last night my Adobe flash player automatically got updated, it was previously a system app which was done with titanium, after it got updated, i integrated it into the rom like before.
however i lost 3mb in the process i tried cleaning the dalvick catch and i used sd maid also to delete any dead apps but both did not find anything to clean.
I tired uninstalling it and installing my previous version via titanium backup, but sill i have lost 3mb, Any ideas to how i can retrieve my internal space back?? now I have turned off the automatic updates. thanks.

Were you having the previous installation of Flash player in the sd card?
No, it was originally from the market.
Seriously, you are complaining about 3 MB?
Nevertheless, back to topic: When system apps are updated, the updates are always installed to /data partition. Don't know why, but this gives you the possibility to uninstall updates, which could not be done if updates were installed to /system.

Whenever my internal space starts to get low and some of the applications have been updated more than once I uninstall them and the re-install, it seems to be that my phone is storing data after every update so updating straight to the most recent version seems to take up less space.
I dont know if this is 100% correct but it seems to work for me.
Its not about 3mb, thats one case, if several updates happen then you will have no internal space. I dont have a table for my desire, after all my main apps installed im left with a limited 25mb of internal space so every mb matters. il try that aswel TheDarkenedPoet though. thanks for replying
Is anyone having an issue with their phone restarting randomly? I have only had the phone a day and it has happened twice. I suspect it is either a problem with root or a problem with disabling the bloatware using nobloat. Anyone that is rooted having these issues?
I havent had that happen to me. I am rooted and i used nobloat. No reboots or anything yet. Although adw ex launcher lags when i hit the home button not alot but its noticeable.
reboots?
Ran doomlord's zergrush and no bloat, everything is fine here. no lag or reboots.
I took my sd card straight from my Captivate to the Nitro. Maybe that could be causing some issues. I'll reformat it then see how it does.

Please do update
Reboots seem to have stopped after formatting my sd card. I will report back if it happens again.
Hmmm i seem to be getting the same issue. If i'm switching back and forth from different apps or opening lots of apps, it "freezes". Only wait to unfreeze for me was to hold power button down and the phone would restart.
I havent formatted my sd so i have to try that. If you format, is it just the app data i lose?
You will lose everything that is stored on the SD card. You wont lose any programs unless they were installed there.
after rooting and moving apps to sd through Titanium backup . i restarted my phone and found it to be extremely slow and glitchy , apps would force close, phone would randomly go in a restart loop with LG logo, tried both SD card in / out. I restored to factory defaults with no sd card. phone loads up first boot. installed titanium backup and restored all user apps with data. works flawlessly , no glitches.
try that but make backup of your apps . i didnt back up and system apps or restored them, just the user apps. not sure if that has anything to do with it. but restoring to factory defaults after root definately did work and i still GOT ROOT !
Hi guys,
I think there's a virus on my phone.
I got an error message saying the internal storage is full. I tried deleting some apps but it just filled right up again to 1.2gb in a matter of seconds (and adding up all the storage usage of the apps listed there comes nowhere near 1.2gb).
I just did a full reinstall of everything (wiped everything, new gapps, new cm7, etc) but 5 minutes after having done so the error is there again.
Anybody know what's going on?
Thanks
I doubt a virus or any kind of android malware is capable of doing that. You should try and flash an sbf to be sure to have done a full clean wipe. Factory reset only resets data, not system so if the bug is in your system it's still there. It's probably the case.
CM7 + CM9 double boot
I have the same issue. It started after i installed cm 7.2. What should i do?
same thing here
just started but i havent flashed a newer version of CM7 , been using it for months and just 3 days ago got the same message , although i did a fresh install 12 hours later storage full again. wtf is going on
Either a rare bug, or maybe your memory chips are damaged. But that's unlikely. Have you tried flashing a new SBF + another version of CM7?
Are you actually having a performance problem or just reading an app-watcher app? I'm on stock 2.2.1 and if I run the built-in Task Manager it will always warn me I'm maxing memory. In my case it means absolutely nothing as that's how Android behaves. And... I get zero slow-downs etc. On some stock phones where memory is really getting maxed out and phones slowing, have heard that activating the "Debugging" option is a work around, although no one is sure why.
Do you use a cracked version of Titanium Backup or one that you did not update to the very last version and were you also recently using the latest Google Play Store (3.5.15 or 3.5.16 - released today) by any chance?
I ask because I know that an slightly out of date version of TB was giving me such problems with Google Store v3.5.15: "out of memory please uninstall some apps" and I had about only 50% of the memory used.. And I've read somewhere that there were issues with the 2 softwares due to changes in Market links and stuff...
To solved that, I've then reverted to my old and trusted version of TB and Market v3.4.4 which only updates to 3.4.7.
I might be beside the track here..but that's my guess anyway.

After you wipe/fresh install uncheck the Restore google thing after signing in. I had the same problem the first wipe/reinstall of cm i did ran out of space in under a hour. the last wipe/install i unchecked google restore and its been a full 24 hours in i've still got storage. I don't know if that will work for you but so far its worked for me.
Since we have root and recovery now, I was wondering if anyone coming from a different OEM device used TBackup to restore their apps and did it successfully? I was able to restore a few apps but the rest had a blue question mark with a silver background circle icon. Wondering if this normal or my microsd card got corrupted and that's why I'm seeing what I'm seeing. Or, it's normal due to the backup is from a different OEM.
I'm thinking of taking another chance on the G3 again since my 1st one was returned due to getting a lemon.
EDIT: Looks like it was due to a bunch of corrupted files on my sdcard since I just got a new G3 and was able to see all my app backups in TBackup.

sweet glad it worked, also remember to NEVER restore system data from another device within TB. I used to do this back in my noob days and I wondered why my phone kept having FC's.. Just restore all apps with data
When I switch devices, I only restore missing user apps. It's generally safe to restore the user data with those apps but you need to be careful with a few -- for instance I find Facebook doesn't restore well, the notifications often don't work if you do that, just I just skip it and install it from the Play Store fresh. But for the 200 or so user apps, it saves so much time.
Hi everyone,
I wanted to start this thread to show a solution which I was not able to find anywhere else. I hope this helps someone
PROBLEM:
Lately the camera has began very bad and some system animations as well. This happened after the latest MIUI 13 update. No reset or apps removal worked or worked very little. The system runs on the official ROM, no mods done to the phone.
SOLUTION:
The solution was very simple - I removed the SD card, rebooted the phone and it was fixed! Probably corrupted SD card, even though it was not used in the phone in any way, no data or apps there.
