News about Ulefone Vienna, formerly Alpha, has been around for half a year and now Ulefone has finally announced all its information on their official website. But what kind of a phone has taken the company so long to make?
What tops Ulefone Vienna is no doubt the independent HiFi chipset named NXP Smart Audio PA which packs both DAC and operational amplifier. The audio system of the Vienna has a frequency response range from 20Hz to 20KHz, covering all the sound frequencies hearable to human ears. The 109db high SNR and <0.01% low THD are said to make sure users will get the pure music experience.
Among the mains specs, Ulefone Vienna is equipped with an 5.5-inch 1080P LTPS display from Sharp and a 32GB built-in storage for flawless music files (and apps too). Other specs include an MT6753 8-core 64-bit chipset, 3GB LPDDR3 RAM, 13MP Panasonic MN34150 camera with dual flash, and a 3250mAh Sony li-polymer battery.
Ulefone Vienna’s fingerprint scanner implementation supports the registration of five different fingerprints; a physical key under the power button can be used to start the camera and voice recorder apps; also, the IR Blaster enables to control home appliances with remote control apps.
Design-wise, Ulefone Vienna has a 2.5D glass on the front side, while the unified frame and back cover can’t be removed. SIM card and MicroSD has to be put on a side-inserted tray on the left edge and on the right edge, volume up and down buttons are divided.
Measuring 153.5 x 77.85 x 8.6mm, Ulefone Vienna weights 156g. It is offered in 4 colors: grey, white, black and pink.
Ulefone Vienna has been the only model featuring HiFi among small brands, also a good sign that we may begin to enjoy high quality audio at lower price.

Ulefone compares Ulefone Vienna with Vivo X5 Max Speakers
Ulefone Vienna has been hyped with the label of HiFi, but what level it has reached? A comparison with a well-known HiFi device will best answer the question.
Ulefone has released a video where the Vienna is shown together with the Vivo X5 Max for the loudspeaker test. By playing the same piece of violin sonata, the Vienna and X5 Max has given out different styles of sound which we can easily distinguish. Ulefone say they have tried to make Vienna have a young and passionate voice while the final sound will be much milder than what the prototype delivers.
Ulefone have also shown the Vienna’s BOX sound chamber, which is a little bigger than the sound chamber in ordinary budget phones. In the mean time, the company stresses that the built-in phone speaker can hardly fulfill the capacity of the Smart Audio PA processor.
Soon the company will release another test video on YouTube to show how the Vienna’s sound performs using some professional audio equipment.

Just Google for it for "needrom".
Waiting for Official Ulefone's firmware links.

Ready. Reviews and Support stuff have been added.
Interesting. Why put a Hifi chip in this and then only have 16GB storage? That's not enough for lossless msuic.

Oh 32GB, that's twice the amount. But still not enough for lossless. 20mb a minute of flac give or take. That's about 50mins per GB.

It depends on how much space do you need, for the price you can't get higher internal storage. MicroSD slot is here though.

I'll receive this device soon, and i'll publish here a real-life review that will clear any possible doubt.
HiFi-featured Ulefone Vienna pre-sale.
Ulefone started the pre-sale of its audio-centric device Ulefone Vienna.
All the Ulefone retailer partners sites started to pre-sale it today (29/03/2016) and it will end on April 12 when the price will increased back to $199.99 without gift. Starting from April 15, Ulefone will start to ship the items and promise to process orders at normal speed.
New video from Ulefone, now testing audio output using some professional speakers. Well done!
Guys the device is almost ready to be sold to public, there are only some software adjustments that has to be made before release. I'll keep you updated.

>Thank you, I think that you work for Ulefone or you know very well someone inside Ulefone because you have this kind of news.
If from one side is good to know that they are still working on software bugs trying to solve them, from the other side it's a little bit strange that they are still doing this 5 days before shipping time... it can mean that they are late with work...
That sounds me strange... I was intended to buy this phone but I think I will wait for some reviews from some real users.. I don't think that the price will be much higher that 169$ even after the presale end (12 april)... In just a couple of month we will find many products with better hardware at the same price.. And I'm thinking most of all to the SOC MTK6753 that in my opinion is a little old compared to the "high quality" of the rest of the VIenna configuration.

Even Google Nexus devices aren't completely bug-free when they are released, so this is a pretty common behavior.
Ey Guys. Ulefone has published today an article with Ulefone Vienna GPS Test. I let you it here:
Audio Centric Ulefone Vienna Official GPS Test
Since Ulefone Vienna samples are not available presently, we only have official reviews to judge how it runs. Today Ulefone releases a video to show the device’s performance in navigation.
The test lasted about 15 minutes when the Ulefone staff had a drive in Shenzhen City with GPS and Google Map opened on the Vienna. The whole process was shown by the video without cut, except that the original sound was silenced for background music. Since Ulefone Power, Ulefone has been bold in releasing uncut reviewing videos to show their confidence in products. They have made 3-hour battery test for the Power while it is proved authentic.
Ulefone Vienna presales promotion ends today but you can still get it for USD169.99 from some of Ulefone’s retail partners, given the device has independent audio chipset, Sharp FHD display, 32GB storage besides, MTK6753, 3GB LPDDR3 RAM, and 13MP Panasonic camera.

It's a TCL Meme Da 3S (TCL M3G 3S) clone since TCL and Umi seem to be working together now
Very interesting phone for $150US
I might order one, except that it's only available in white for now. What do you think?

Oy, this thread died already?
I'm having trouble finding an official section for this phone. I'm SUPER tempted to buy this thing, but I don't want to get stuck on an old OS - need to know that there is development on it... at least to get us to Marshmallow (Android 6).
Where I can get stock firmware for this phone?
Anyone that is interested, the phone will be on sale for just 75$ in about an hour: http://dealsnow.info/2015/10/14/umi-emax-mini-for-just-75/

It's a bit odd that this model doesn't support band 20 LTE (800MHz).
I have read some methods to unlock it, however nobody confirm that it works

Theoretically you can enable any bands on the software side, but it won't work because of hardware limitations.
today is arrived!
Unboxing & Review Received from Coolicool :
Review Umi EMax Mini (Sorry for the translation, i've used Google)
Package, Content, Aesthetics:
The pack is now a classic for the latest products Umi, a square box of a generous size with treatment embossed silver; on the back there is a label with the model and IMEI numbers.
Box contents: Smartphone with pre-applied protective film screen, 1 AC outlet with USB 5V 1A White Italian and 1 USB Cable TV; no headphone is extra protective films.
- External dimensions of the smartphone to be a very compact 5 "; it measures 139.9 x 69.8 x 8.5mm for a little more than 130g weight.
- Construction of good quality, the materials return a good feeling to the touch, the metallic finish of the side frame and processing cover embellish smartphone.
- On the left side we find keys, and the right side we find the volume rocker on the top and the power button slightly lower.
- At the top we are the only audio jack; on the underside there is the Micro USB socket and the speakek (only in the right part, since the symmetrical opening on the left has no speaker inside).
- In the back at the top center we are the 13 megapixel camera from Sony / Samsung f / 2.2, slightly below the flash with dual led to even lower the microphone.
- In the front we find the earpiece at the top, the camera 8Mpixel f / 2.2 and light sensors / proximity.
- The soft touch buttons are three and except the center button circular, the sides are backlit.
- Cover removable; the presence of a knurled machining, allows to obtain very good grip.
- Outer pane with pre-applied film from the house; the glass does not seem to work rounded perimeter.
- Display brightness and good viewing angles; Full HD IPS LCD screen with colors well played, good sharpness for the category, and white balance after all good and very deep black.
- Touch-sensitive and comes with multitouch 5 touches, writing quickly and accurately with both function that Swype typing with two fingers (keyboard used google)
- Two sim slots: Two Micro Sim 4G (with dynamic selection software).
- Presence slot MicroSD up to 64Gb (tested).
- Battery is not removable from 3050mAh declared, to the test with amperomento we found about 2950mAh, which can cover the busy day with no problem.
- Android 5.0.2 without any customization (if we omit icons) and launcher Onetouch (that of TCL M3G 3S).
- Opening apps and switching between apps is not without some small hitch browser .. stock fairly accessible but suggest that Chrome while consuming a lot of ram speeds up navigation.
- Excellent management 16Gb of internal ROM that are available in a 11GB partition for apps and data.
- Good management 2Gb ram by Android 5.0.2 .. more than 930Mb of ram vacated after loading some apps into memory at startup.
Connectivity:
WiFi b / g with no problem hooking stable, good power (presence of dual band).
BT 4 tested pairing with headsets, car and other smartphones without problems
OTG: Properly functioning
GPS: good, the outside has fixato cold in 20 seconds, 12 satellites, with an accuracy of a few meters; GLONASS compatibility and Baidu
Camera:
- Main camera 13Mpixel f / 2.2 that produces good shots in daylight; fast focusing and saving shots; camera interface very well-structured and comprehensive; the flash of good power allows some shots in most light conditions poor. Even without using the flash, the use of high ISO (up to about 1500iso) still allows you to take extreme emergency after all decent.
- Good performance video
- Secondary camera for Selfie 8Mpixel with face detection function, shots and discrete video
.
Bench:
Antutu 5.7.1 more than 30000 punti..risultato in line with that of other 615 CPU Snapdragon 1.5Ghz.
Geekbench 3 with 2260 points in multi-core test and 647 in the single-core test.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/user/ 3909297
Geekbench Battery Test (over 5 hours and 30 'screen on time, a little low for a 3050mAh but enough for at least 4 hours of screen on the busy day of work with active data traffic.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/ 138925
Audio:
Good sound quality, good volumes of speaker and earpiece, the other party has no problem and feel the item is free from noise and interference or metallic effect.
Position of the speaker in the lower apt, although the presence of the second speaker for the stereo effect would have appreciated !.
Good vibe and the sound with headphones.
Conclusion:
PRO:
- Price of 130 € for a terminal with characteristics of medium range 2Gb RAM / 16GB ROM and 5 "FullHD that if proposed by a brand known, would have cost twice as much.
- Full HD screen that shows good brightness, color and viewing angle of the display (bright colors and deep black)
- Good assembly, the materials used, the distribution of weight (130g) and the grip that gives the cover with knurled processing.
- Good reception and good also the audio
- Dual SIM (two slots micro sim) and MicroSD card support (tested support up to 64Gb)
- Android 5.0.2 practically stock of 10 September 2015
- Main camera from 13Mpixel f / 2.2 with good quality if good light and holds well even high ISO.
- Battery 3050mAh from that in spite the snapdragon 615 and the Full HD screen will take you to end the day in an easy way.
- Double tap to wake
- GPS with Glonass + Baidu and presence magnetometer (compass) and Gyroscope
- OTG supported
- Led Notification and keys backlit soft touch side
- Total identical to TCL M3G 3S, then Accessories / cover compatible those of the latter
AGAINST:
- SD card can not be set as memory for the installation of APP (photos and videos can be stored instead on sd)
- Android 5.0.2 with some problems of fluidity of the interface and some acclaimed as the memory leak.
- Presence of Chinese app One Cleaner "cleaning system" that makes the device slowed; simply best to remove it from the app.
- 4G with these bands 1,3,7 (then is absent the band 20 to 800Mhz essential especially with the wind).
- Some uncertainty in the fluidity of the interface and too general, which improves putting in developer mode animations 0.5xe GPU rendering and with the help of alternative launcher like Nova.
- Unfortunately not practicable root trying different tools; Umi had accustomed us to the root of the factory and so in this case we were wrong

This is the comparison video between Cubot X16 and Umi Emax Mini:
(Italian language Comments)
can you share also this comparison?
The band-problem (800MHz) of the UMI Emax is still not fixed?? Sad, I hoped they would fix it...
Megthebest - great review, thanks for that! But two questions:
1. You wrote, it's not possible to install apps on SD-Card - isn't it pre rooted, so you can use Link2SD for that procedure?
2. Did you test RootJoy? Because UMI said with RootJoy you can install the newest CM on the UMI Emax Mini.
800mhz band is not fixed yet.
Stock rom comes without root, and you may have to install twrp (chinese/english) and try if with sulersu you can work with link2sd and ext partition on sd.
I have not tested rootjoy yet, i will check today
Ulefone Future 5,5" MTK6755 64bit, 4GB+32GB, Android 6, Fingerprint ID
It has a front without bezel between display and the right & left edges, so it will be thinner than most 5.5" phones such as iPhone 6 Plus. You can not find a volume rocker on the frame because there will be an invisible "touch" volume rocker. Its fingerprint scanner will be located on the right side. The "Future" will be Ulefone’s first metal uni-body model. And it will come with both CyanogenMod and Android 6.0.
It is powered by the MTK6755 2GHz octa-core 64-bit SoC, 4GB RAM plus 32GB storage. This will be Ulefone’s flagship device in 2016.
Ulefone Future
- 5.5 Inch
- Bezel-less
- MTK Helio P10 MTK6755 2GHz octa-core 64-bit SoC
- 4GB RAM & 32GB Storage
- Fingerprint Scanner

It is not out yet and there are no more information, but I'm definitely going to review it when it comes Rumours say that the "Elephone P9000" maybe will look similar as Ulefone and Elephone are working together on some models.

I even heard they work together and yeah they both look beautiful <3 I can see that the OS on Ulefone Power looks the same as in the Elephone P9000. Stock Android with e few customizations But in benchmarks the processor looks weak, weaker than x10 on Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 hence even from MTK6752 in multi core so that's definitely a let down. If they just used x10 instead but they probably want to cut the price too as the competition is very high. We'll see how things will go.
Btw, I watch your videos on YT and you do amazing work so keep it up
I'd like to ask you based on the phones you've used/reviewed which one would you suggest more based on display, OS stability-speed-lag free and support, performance - gaming, camera, battery (I heard there are batteries that get weaker after only a few charges or maybe months i.e percents of batteries go down while screen off(have you faced such an issue ?) .. etc.
Eagerly waiting for this phone to get released. The build quality and the display are looking top notch from all the photos and videos you can find on the web.

It should come end March if everything goes well.....
Personnally, never liked the buttons on screen or one-button phones. It looks like a good phone, but not for me. I wish they build another version that have menu, back and home button not in the screen...
Anyone else thinking like me?
it is amazing, i like it. good design
It seems it will have a version with Helio X20 and 128 GB internal memory:
Ulefone Future will have Helio X20 128GB Version
Chinese brands are high on making devices with stunning specs since the beginning of 2016. Earlier we have Xiaomi, VIVO, and now Ulefone join in the rush saying their bezel-less device Ulefone Future will also a Helio X20 version with 128GB built-in storage.
Ulefone says the X20 Future will still be equipped with 4GB RAM because the chipset is not compatible with 6GB memory at all according to the MTK official information. Among other specs, the display will have a resolution of 2K and the back camera will adopt 20MP CMOS. Due to a shortage in supply of X20 chipset, the top-spec Future will be released later than the Helio P10 version.
In addition to the bezel-less Future, Ulefone will also launch a version with narrow bezels around display, also packing Helio P10 and 4GB RAM but offering lower camera resolution and smaller built-in storage. And of course this version will be a little cheaper.
Anyway, the normal version of Ulefone Future will be released in April with 16MP Samsung Camera, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 1080P display besides, Helio P10 and 4GB RAM.

I think I also would prefer hardware buttons because from what I can see in the video, the screen doesn't fill up the full phone frame, and the virtual, pop-up buttons look like a little too away from the bottom edge. It's weird.
I think a best bet is just to keep the traditional, stylish look such as from Be Touch 3 and Vienna. The virtual pop-up buttons could end up compromising the new design style and new features of the phone. My 2c.
According with Ulefone news, it will be on sale next week

If you have ever suspected that Ulefone Future is a just a bait the company use to keep the their brand awareness, you can be at ease now because we finally see the bezel-less device announced on the official page of Ulefone, who stresses the sale will begin next week.
Ulefone Future has all the specs that are supposed to come with a Ulefone flagship in the year of 2016. The octa-core 64-bit chipset Helio P10 is as fast as 2GHz; RAM and built-in storage are enlarged to 4GB and 32GB, respectively; and the 16MP Samsung S5K3P3 camera is expected to offer more details in photos with PDAF for fast focus as well as dual-tone flash to fill natural light in darkness.
The above specs only justify the Future’s existence in the high-end market, but it would be an average competitor if without the bezel-less display and side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The 5.5-inch 1080P display is said to offer limitless visual experience while sitting below the power button, the fingerprint scanner will be right next to your finger.
3000mAh battery capacity sounds mediocre this year but a flaghship is not supposed to be thick. Many brands’ solution to this dilemma is a high-power charger, while Ulefone is no exception. They will provide users of the Future with a 9V/2~3A charger to fill up its battery in 1 hour.
Another indicator for Ulefone Future being a flagship is its metal unibody, which claims to come from a whole piece of magnesium-aluminum ingot by CNC cutting. While preserving the natural texture of metal, the unibody will have solid structure to protect the screen from hitting.
For more, Ulefone Future will come with Android 6.0; the Cat 6 baseband will support 350Mbps mobile data speed if your local carrier can offer 4G at that level; gyro sensor is equipped for VR apps; and Type-C USB is adopted for reversible plug.
Ulefone Future measures 151.5 x 73.5 x 8.6mm in size and the weight is 185kg with battery built in. Thanks to the bezel-less design, the Future will be smaller than most 5.5-inch devices. And you will have 2 colors to choose, grey and golden.

Ulefone Future - Information & Reviews
Introduction
After their amazing DAC Smartphone at a low price, Ulefone has finally announced another amazing device that will be sold with sales starting from next week.
This is the Ulefone Future
Unlike their previous devices, this is their first flagship featuring a Mediatek Helio P10 CPU, 4GBs of RAM with 32GB of ROM, an excellent 16MP Samsung S5K3P3 Camera supported by PDAF auto-focus and a dual-tone flash configuration, a 4G Cat. 6 Modem and a Gyroscope Sensor. Pretty nice considering that no other Ulefone device was made with so much high-end hardware.
Even if some previous leaks said that it would have a 2K Display, this isn't true. It will have a 1080p 5.5" Display (bezel-less)
Similar to some Sony Xperia devices, the Ulefone Future will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a pretty particular feature that makes this device different than others.
There are no dimensions known yet, but it is said to be absolutely thick and this is why its battery is just 3000mAh. It doesn't mean that this is too low, because the included hardware doesn't require so much power. Supported by MTK Pump Express Quick Charge technology, it will be able to be recharged in more or less 1 hour.
Almost all Chinese companies are now focusing their attention on the chassis, and this device will have a Metal Chassis (with CNC treatment) that makes the device much more ergonomic and reduces the risk to break it much easier than standard treatment.
Mediatek provided the Helio P10 CPU only starting with Android 6.0, so the Ulefone Future will have the latest release of Android.
Other details coming soon
Hi Guys. New information. The Pre-sale will start on 4th May 2016:
Ulefone Future Presale to Start up May 4 with USD199.99 Flash Deal
Ulefone announces today they will kick off the presales promotion of their bezel-less flagship Ulefone Future from May 4 with a flash deal of USD199.99 apiece as the beginning, a sharp discount of USD70 from the original price of USD269.99.

After all of them are sold out, you still have the special price of USD239.99 for unlimited preorder until May 25. Remarkably, the USD239.99 package will contain all accessories including 9V/2~3A fast charger, Type-C USB cable, Type-C to micro USB adapter, TPU case, screen protector, and dust plug while USD199.99 will only cover the cable.
Among Ulefone Future’s components the most remarkable is 5.5-inch FHD bezel-less display which is comparable to the 3D display of USD700-or-so Samsung S7 Edge, while the 4GB RAM is popular among international flagships this year.
Other specs of the Future include Helio P10 8-core 64-bit 2GHz chipset, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, metal unibody, 32GB storage, 16MP Samsung S5K3P3 camera with PDAF and dual-tone flash, 3000mAh battery, 9V/2~3A fast charger, Type-C USB, and gyro sensor.
Ulefone Future will come with Android 6.0 pre-installed. Color-wise, there are grey and golden to choose.

More information about the battery
Ulefone Future Recharge and Drainage Test
Ulefone Future has 3000mAh battery which is only passable in the year of 2016, since a flagship is not supposed to be thick. As compensation, a 9V/2~3A fast charger will come in the package to fill up the battery in 1 hour.
In a latest battery test, Ulefone staff managed to charge Ulefone Futre from 21% to 76% in half an hour with the phone turned on, indicating that a singe charge will cost less than 1 hour. And playing online HD video for 30 minutes, the battery drained from 100% to 91%. If this has authentically reflected real life, one-day normal use should be out of problem.
In addition, Ulefone Future will share the same Pump Express Plus charger with the mammoth battery device Ulefone Power. And as always, Ulefone claims the Future has packed a Sony li-polymer battery.

OUKITEL is releasing a new device named OUKITEL C4 with high-end design while maintaining the usual lowest price among 4G smartphones.
When it comes to OUKITEL brand, we first think of the K10000, K6000 PRO, K4000 or U7 PRO. And as we can see from their product plans, apart from the price tag, they brought big battery smartphones to solve the pain point of battery life. Really great jobs! Today, they are releasing a new device which they believe to be the best budget device, the OUKITEL C4.
Many consumers would think of Xiaomi when talking about cheap devices, however, OUKITEL is setting a new frozen price for lowest device. By releasing the new device OUKITEL C4 with MT6737 Soc, they determined the price of this 4G smartphone same as 3G devices like those with MT6580 chipset. It will be sold at OUKITEL Authorized Store.
Except the 4G chipset, OUKITEL C4 is doing even better on a plus point which is screen. It sports a 5 inches HD screen with 1280 x 720 resolution, and its brightness will make the screen very easy to view in bright sunlight. Here are the specs, that have been also added just before this news.

OUKITEL says that the Official Price is $59.99, but you know each e-shop might apply different prices.
My C4 has been shipped! I'll probably receive it this week. I should receive the black variant, let's see how good it is.
Considering that the C3 was great, i think this one will be even better.

Review
Introduction
This is the OUKITEL C4
Hardware
This device is powered by a Mediatek MT6737 SOC clocked at 1.25GHz, with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM. Being one of the first devices available to public with MT6737 SOC, it provides some nice improvements compared to the MT6735 such as VoLTE support. Everything is supported by a 8MP Rear Camera and 5MP Front Camera, both interpolated. A real successor to the previous, and well-made, OUKITEL C3.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with basic accessories: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/1A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, 1x Warranty Certificate and the Smartphone (of course). No TPU Cover or Screen Protector, but as always a screen protector is already applied.
The device has a Plastic Chassis, with a rare design that provides better grip. It feels solid enough, maybe feels just a bit cheap due to the Chassis Color (Opaque Golden), and the back cover is removable with a slide method.
It is 14.37x7.26x0.93cm, compact enough and pretty light too, just 165g.
On the front side there is the Standard Flat Glass, no 2.5D, with not-so-small bezels. The upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. Unfortunately there is no Notification LED, but this device is ultra-cheap for its specs so we can't have all.
On the lower front side there is only the Soft Keys area, with Menu, Home and Back touch buttons.
On the back side there is the plastic back cover, with a glass-like surface that isn't bad at all, but a bit scratchy. It can be replaced though, and it makes the whole device a bit more stylish.
The upper rear side of the device features the Camera Sensor supported by a Single Rounded Flash (Single-Tone) configuration. It is almost flat, without any risk of scratch.
The lower rear side of the device features the brand logo, and the Speaker Hole.
Device
Screen
The screen is bright enough, with a good white balance but there is a noticeable banding issue, easily fixable with a software update.
Light Sensor supports partial smooth light changes, sufficient for smooth fading in/out. This is its maximum brightness.
Viewing Angles do not suffer any issue at all, perfect in every condition, and here you will definitely the banding issue i said before.
Camera
Rear Camera provides sufficient photo quality, it is just a 5MP interpolated to 8MP so you can't expect something better, but it is enough for occasional photos.
The Single Flashlight works pretty well, maybe even better than some other more expensive device i have reviewed.
As regards Video Recording, well just like photos you can't expect super quality. It records 1080p Videos, just like any latest device, but its quality is just sufficient. Again, this isn't a device made for photos. The same applies for the Front Camera, no wide-angle is here.
Audio
Speaker is extremely loud, just like the previous OUKITEL C3, a bit distorted at maximum volume but its quality isn't bad at all. Low Frequancies are missing, but there are no issues as regards the clarity.
In-Call Quality is decent, and pretty loud too. Everyone was able to hear me perfectly. Microphone Quality seems to be good.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Thanks to the 4G Band 20 support (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it), I’m almost always and everywhere connected to the 4G Network of my Mobile Network Provider (TIM Italy).
Also 3G Signal Reception is accurate, actually I never managed to get connected to the 2G Network of my Mobile Operator because there was always some 3G Signal available.
4G Network Speed is pretty good, it highly depends on your Mobile Operator and mine isn’t pretty good. While 3G Network Speed, is just fine as it should.
WiFi 2.4GHz speed is decent, I managed to get connected to my network connection at 65mbps, and Speed Tests reached more or less 35mbps.
Battery Life
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and as you can see it matches the declared value. (declared 2000mAh, real almost 2050mAh). The previous OUKITEL C3 has a 2300mAh battery, this is the only downgrade i notice.
As always, every device i review gets tested with the Geekbench Battery Test. A good result for such a small battery.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/386759
Charging Times are not extremely high, the 1A charger helps compared to 0.5A USB Charging, but still not fast as 2A or Quick Charging times.
Software
Following its nice way to develop the OS, OUKITEL choose to use an almost completely clean version of Android 6 Marshmallow, with usual Mediatek features and nothing else. Smooth and Lightweight.
Just like other last-gen Mediatek Devices, there are some typical features such as Gestures, Scheduled Power On/Off, etc…
The UI is almost always responsive, i have noticed some small lags and RAM issues under heavy usage because the OS is 64-bit based, not a nice choice for a 1GB device. Maybe they will release an update that will make it switch to 32-bit who knows. I hope so.
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 3, GFXBench, PCMark (Work & Storage) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance isn't superb, lower than MT6737, maybe the software isn't ready enough. I hope to see some improvements here.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is sufficient for basic daily tasks, a software update might improve it.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – As you can see, 3D performance is medium. Not as good as MT6735, but sufficient.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (4x Cortex-A53), enough to handle almost every type of activity.
GFXBench – Due to RAM issues, almost every test crashed so...i will wait some updates to retry this test.
PCMark – As you can see, only the Writing score is a bit lower than others.
Work
Storage
Vellamo – Even if this is a RAM Hungry Benchmark, it still provides some good results.
It is clearly noticeable that this device needs some software improvements as regards performance, and considering the previous OUKITEL C3 updates, they won't abandon it.
Conclusions
OUKITEL choose to use an MT6737 SOC to provide a nice improvement over the MT6580 used with OUKITEL C3, there are no doubts that this is something that i appreciate, the device feels solid and is super-cheap considering its specs, but the software needs to be improved. Excluding this issue, i do not notice anything else negative or that might impact its daily usage.
So, do I recommend it? If you are searching for the cheapest MT6737 ever made, offering 4G, VoLTE and decent build-quality for such a low price, this is definitely for you.
Pros:
Bright Screen
Insanely Cheap
Solid Chassis
Good Battery Life
4G and VoLTE support
Cons:
Software needs huge improvements
Noticeable Screen Banding issue (probably related to the software)
No Notification LED
Smaller Battery than the OUKITEL C3
No TPU Cover included
Touchscreen Sensitivity isn't great

White & Black Colors Comparision!
On the Black Variant the Chassis has a gold-like color, while on the White Variant it has a Pink color.
Also, as you can clearly see, screen borders look huge on the white variant.
Thanks for this detailed review, I think I'll buy this device. Do you think that they will release the kernel source / device tree?

Oh, how sad
Received my Oukitel C4 today. The phone feels really solid, and performance is pretty good. Volume and Power keys feel a little bit clicky but that does not bother me. A big con is the internal storage, it is labeled with 8 GB, but 4 GB are used by the Android system. So all in all you can only use 4 GB which can lead to problems with apps which cannot be moved to the sd card. I should also mention, that OTG is NOT supported (have seen some sellers which advertised it with OTG.) The OS is more or less vanilla Android 6.0 with some nice MediaTek related features like customizable gestures, duble tab to wake / sleep, schceduled power on/off etc... The phone has a very clear and bright screen and the speaker which is located at the back has decent audio quality.
All in all i am satisfied. The phone has by far the best price-performance ratio I have ever seen!
Hi all,GPS is good in this phone ? Tnx
Hmm,
Isn't Oukitel violating the GPL by not releasing the source?

Yes, just like the 99% of all Chinese Companies. Unfortunately, there is no GPL in China so they have the rights to choose whether to release such packages or not.
Hey, just found out that homtom released their kernel source + device tree for the homtom ht17 which uses the sane SoC like the C4. Maybe it is possible to boot this kernel on the C4?

How Long Can 1% Battery of UHANS H5000 Last?
It really drives people crazy when he/she need to use his/her phone for emergency, only to find out that there’s only 1% battery left. This is because many smartphones cannot last very long with only 1% battery. UHANS H5000 seems to hang on 1% for about an hour.
No kidding. The 1% battery of UHANS H5000 has been tested for the time it can last. It is a very big surprise that the phone has done such a great job of power consumption. You can watch the video below.
The UHANS H5000 was said to carry 5000mAh battery capacity. Now considering the weight, thickness of the phone and the power consumption, the company has changed it to 4500mAh. It still packs with MediaTek MT6737, 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM, 5MP front camera and 8MP rear camera.
A great campaign allowing users to buy UHANS devices is up on the company's website: http://bit.ly/2ehIEhG

UHANS H5000 vs Samsung Galaxy S7: Battery Test
The battery of UHANS H5000 is 4500 mAh, which allows users to do a lot of what they wanna do. From the previous battery test video, we know that UHANS H5000 has very great power consumption. How is it compared to other devices?
For this comparison, Samsung Galaxy S7 was picked to be the competitor. Both phones have been fully charged and put them into the same gaming test for half an hour. Though the battery capacities are not the same, we can still see the different consumption between UHANS H5000 and Samsung Galaxy S7.
It seems that the battery of H5000 is quite a highlight. You can expect to have it in hand and test it. By the way, there will be a special campaign for the Double-Eleventh Day. You can stay tuned by following this thread.
UHANS H5000 Survived from Dropping Tests
We can hardly say that UHANS H5000 is a phone with any particular shinny spots, but it is decent and budget-friendly. Well, specs are not everything, because if you look further, you can find that UHANS H5000 is actually a very tough buddy.
To prove it, UHANS did some regular dropping tests with pocket height and hand-hold height. The H5000 has been tortured for several times under the protection of a protective case. Nonetheless, it still works very fine.

Review (part 1)
Introduction
This is the OUKITEL K6.
Hardware
Coming as the first Helio P23 device ever released on the market (correct me if i am wrong), this new K6 should be the successor to the K6000 Plus. It could be easily considered as the second flagship, together with the MIX 2, from OUKITEL since the specs are not bad at all. It comes with 6GB of RAM, 64GB of ROM an
d an huge 6300mAh battery.
Unboxing
Unlike the K8000 reviewed before, this K6 comes with a whole new packaging that also looks more premium, even inside. The amount of included accessories is still the same: 1x Type-C USB Cable, 1x 5V/3A USB Charger (not sure whether this is a Pump Express charger or not), 1x User Manual, 1x SIM Card Removal Tool, 1x Warranty Certificate, 1x OTG Cable, 1x TPU Cover and the Smartphone (of course). A screen protector is already applied.
The K6 doesn't feature anymore a full-metal chassis found on the K6000, but they choose to go with a plastic back cover (not-removable) instead. That's a pity because it is something that makes a device more premium. Anyway, the plastic cover doesn't seem to affects its solidity too much, even though i can notice some minor imperfections where the plastic touches the metal body. Also, i will never understand the need to remove the 3.5mm Headphone Jack on thick devices. There are just no valid reasons that would justify this, and i am not the only one to think the same.
As a battery phone with a 5.99" 18:9 screen and 6300mAh of battery, it is almost obvious to not expect a compact device. It is 15.8x7.61x1.08cm with a weight of 263g, really heavy considering the size. I don't understand why it is so heavy considering the plastic back cover.
This is probably one of the most complete devices i have ever reviewed, since it includes both Front Flashlight and Notification LED (RGB) on the upper front side while still keeping the reasonably thin bezel. Of course there is also a Front Camera, the Earpiece and Light/Proximity sensors.
Nothing to complain about the Notification LED, it is really bright and RGB.
On the lower front side there isn't anything at all.
As regards the back side, it features, as already said, a plastic non-removable cover with a nice-looking light effect. Still, it is plastic so expect to scratch it easily. I may recommend to use a screen protector also on the back in order to not ruin the effect.
The upper rear side of the device features the Camera Sensor with a Dual-LED - Single-Tone Flashlight on the left, and a Fingerprint Scanner just below.
Just like most latest devices, there isn't anything important except the OUKITEL logo on the lower back side.
Device
Screen
Compared to the MIX 2 5.99" 18:9 screen, the one used on the K6 is, in my opinion, not as good as i would have expected. Colors look slightly washed out even after some calibration using MiraVision, and i can notice a minor smearing effect while scrolling menus. It seems to be a common issue for this kind of rounded screens, since i found a similar issue on another device reviewed some weeks ago, so it might be a software issue or just a limit of this first gen of panels. Hopefully in the future this will only get better.
Nothing to complain about the light sensor, and the screen brightness is high enough for a sufficient visibility under direct sunlight.
The rounded corners do not seem to affect viewing angles at all, as good as they should be on a IPS panel.
Camera
Identical to the MIX 2, this K6 features a Samsung 16MP rear camera sensor that, together with the new Helio P23 ISP (Image Signal Processor), does seem to provide some great shots. HDR works decently, and the amount of image noise is not too high, as long as the available light is high enough of course. An overall good result.
Also the Flashlight seems to work properly, no out-of-sync issues neither lack of light. Powerful enough, maybe a dual-tone variant would have been better.
Excellent results as regards the Camcorder. Videos are recorded in 1080p30 with a really stable framerate, no stuttering and high image quality. Currently the best Mediatek device ever tested in this area.
The front-camera sensor is, unfortunately, unknown (was not able to obtain the codename) but it should be an 8MP camera sensor interpolated to 13MP. Thanks to the Flashlight, it is possible to obtain some pretty decent shots even in low-light conditions. Pretty average quality.
Audio
It is pretty common for most smartphone to not feature a really powerful speaker, especially with latest models where, due to the bezels reduction, the space for a big chamber is slowly decreasing. This K6 is not exception. It doesn't feature a really loud speaker unit, but the sound is clean and there is a minor amount of low frequencies.
Unfortunately though, just like on the MIX 2, the Earpiece seem to produce a slightly distorted sound at highest volume. This is where the lack of a proper sound chamber is noticeable. Anyway, it is loud enough.
Nothing to complain about the Microphone, it is properly calibrated, and the lack of a secondary microphone does not seem to affect much the quality. Perfectly usable for calls and video recording.
GPS
Excellent results for the GPS. An high amount of satellites gets locked, even indoors.
Indoors on the left, outdoors on the right.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
The device is meant to be used with European Networks (Band 20 included), just like most Chinese devices that are sold with EU Plug chargers. As regards the signal, i was not able to find any issue or lack of network connection, and the speed test run on 4G confirms it. Not a bad result.
For some reason, Mediatek keeps providing a WiFi N-only card even for last-gen mid-range chipsets, thus there is no WiFi AC support on this device. Still, 5GHz WiFi N networks are perfectly working. Connected to my home network, the device is able to use my internet bandwidth completely.
Battery Life
Starting from the Battery Capacity, i was not able to confirm the 6300mAh battery capacity declared by OUKITEL, instead i get a result of ~6090mAh. They declare a minimum of 6000mAh, but a typical of 6300mAh is definitely unrealistic considering it (it is usually ~100mAh higher from the min, not that much).
Battery Life is just outstanding compared to the previous gen Helio P20/25. The PCMark Battery Life test provided a result of 22 hours and 5 minutes, able to last at least two days of heavy usage (or one if you don't sleep...just kidding). Test run at minimum brightness, with WiFi on and Sync on.
OUKITEL seem to be really proud of the choice to use a 5V/3A charger (Pump Express 3?) for this device. They are not alone, OnePlus also uses a 5V charger with even higher current. Based on some testing made by external websites, this reduces the device temperature while keeping the charging speed high. Is it really making a difference compared to a standard up to 12V quick charger? Well, i was not able to notice that much difference as regards the charging speed, but the device felt noticeable cooler to the touch.
Software
Different from previous devices reviewed in the past, this is the first one that comes with Android 7.1 instead of 7.0, probably due to the newer BSP provided by Mediatek for the Helio P23. Unfortunately it isn't Android 8.0 Oreo, but i guess it will be updated really soon.
The OS is clean, there is no bloatware pre-installed excluding a third-party keyboard that can be disabled, and it runs pretty smooth with no lags neither slow-downs.
Something even more interesting about this K6 is the NFC Antenna. As far as i know, this is the first time OUKITEL implements this feature, so well done for this choice. Unfortunately i can't test Android Pay here in Italy so...i need your user feedback about its compatibility.
All Mediatek Goodies such as MiraVision, Gestures (double-tap to unlock included) and others are included.
An extra feature has been included with this model: Face ID/Face Unlock. How does it work? It just uses the front facing camera to recognize your face, do not rely on it if you care about your device's security. Period (also clearly written in the warning).
Both Gyroscope and Magnetometer/Compass are present.
No malwares detected with Malware-Bytes Anti-Malware using latest definitions.
As regards the Fingerprint Scanner, it is really accurate, but slightly slow. Personally, i prefer accuracy more than speed, but if an OTA Update will be able to speed-up the reading process, it would be even better.
Review (part 2)
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, GeekBench 4, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0), V1 - GPU Benchmark Pro and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – Even though this Helio P23 comes with a new-gen Mali-G71 GPU, it is less powerful compared to the one found on the Helio P25. Not a bad result, but pretty average.
AndroBench – No words about this result, it is just outstanding for an eMMC 5.1.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
GeekBench – For some reasons, it fails to get an internet connection. To know more: http://support.primatelabs.com/discussions/geekbench/23518-not-internet-connection-detected
GFXBench – This benchmark is just too much for not high-end devices.
PCMark – Somehow this benchmark gets higher results compared to the Helio P25. As i always say, software optimizations are more important compared to raw performance, and this is the proof.
Work 2.0
Computer Vision
Storage
Work 1.0
V1 - GPU Benchmark Pro – Using the Snapdragon 820 preset, 3D performance seem to be a bit low for really heavy games. Consider to reduce graphics quality for a smoother experience.
Vellamo – Overall good results considering the CPU, somewhere in between the MT6750T and the Helio P25.
Conclusions
Being the first devices ever released by OUKITEL with such high specs, together with the MIX 2, i am not so surprised to see that some areas are not as good as they should have been. They always focused on battery life more than performance, and this new strategy can only help them to get better and better, device after device.
This is an overall good device, i like the thin bezels and also the new Helio P23 that seems to be way more power efficient compared to previous alternatives provided by Mediatek. Still, the lack of an headphone jack on such a thick device is really non-sense.
I recommend it to those looking for a battery phone that features almost everything, with no great requirements for gaming.
Pros:
Android 7.1 instead of the usual 7.0
NFC Support
Notification LED
Gyroscope & Magnetometer/Compass
Excellent Battery Life
Cons:
No 3.5mm Headphone Jack (adapter-only)
Not released with Android 8 Oreo
Noticeable smearing effect while scrolling menus/pages
Really heavy considering the plastic back cover
Requires longer than standard USB plugs
