Stock recovery giving Error!! - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Currently i am on beanstalk, and want to go back to stock.
I flashed the stock recovery via fastboot, but when i enter into Stock Recovery mode, it gives me Error icon.
The whole process is to flash the stock zip via sideload, but i am not able to enter the stock recovery.
The stock version i am trying to flash is 2.20.40.160.

I flashed all three files, Droidboot.img, recovery.img, boot.img.
And then turned the phone off, and now it is stuck on Asus screen. Urgent Help!!

hello,
when you enter into stock recovery mode, do you see the robot with the error message? have you try to press power + volume up button? I think the error message is normal.

Sorry for mybad english

Yes, i did try that too. But nothing happens.

Got it working, i was long pressing the volume up with power, instead it was long press power + press and release volume up.

Now extract firmware.zip
And get it from META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
Now zip only updater-script and attach here.

Soft Bricked Oppo Find 7

Hi everyone. I bought this Find 7 today in hopes that I could get it running. The previous owner apparently went to flash cm11 and he soft bricked it. The phone will power on to the start screen the the screen stays black and goes on and off. I can get to fastboot but not recovery. I have read in the oppo forums that I need to push the stock recovery too it but am unfamiliar with fastboot.. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I got it to boot up following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/find-7/help/bricked-7-t2897376. Then I went to wipe it and I'm back where I started. The Msm Downloader is japanese so I don't understand what half of it means. Must have been a fluke it booted up.
I got it to boot up again. I'm not sure what I should do with it next. There is no recovery installed.
If you can get to fastboot, download a recovery, navigate to that recovery, use
fastboot flash recovery x.img
Where x is the name of the file. Hold down power and volume down until phone vibrates, and you should be in recovery

Thank you for the response. I have been trying to do that. I have the recovery.img downloaded but I can't seem to get it to my phone. I'm not all that familiar with fastboot and adb.

Which recovery are you trying to install??? OPPO stock recovery or other custom recoveries like TWRP??
By the way, as long as you can get into fastboot, everything is fixable, just a matter of how long it takes

Yes I do. But I don't have time until 1 and half hour later
You can place the .img file anywhere you want, but you just have to specify the path and name of the recovery image on the fastboot flash command. For example: fastboot flash recovery C:\openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-find7.img (this is if you put the recovery image in the root directory of C drive)

Try: fastboot oem unlock
I don't know if this will works directly since you probably don't have the OPPO driver and i'm not sure if you need it. By the way this method will wipe everything on the phone but i assume you don't have anything on the phone yet anyway :silly:

No, you don't need an older version. You simply aren't installing it correctly. Follow the instructions EXACTLY as shown the recovery thread.

As I expected, you did not follow the instructions properly. The instructions direct you to "uncheck auto-reboot in Odin". You did not do this.

Directly from the instructions:
8. Hit "START". Wait for Odin to finish (~10-15 seconds). The message area will display "RES OK" when finished.
9. Restart directly to recovery mode before rebooting into OS.(Hold POWER, Volume UP, and the HOME button all at the same time. When you see the Samsung Logo, let go of the POWER button, but keep holding the Volume UP and HOME until you see the recovery screen).

"No Command" screen after trying to flash recovery

Hello,
I had attempted to flash the recovery found on the official forums and I had followed the tutorial. I had then tried to put my p8000 into recovery mode with Vol + and Power. After selecting recovery mode with the Vol - button, I see an android robot with a red triangle and it says "No Command" under it. I have tried to flash the Recovery many times and I was wondering if I was doing something wrong or if I need to do something else.
Any help is appreciated.
Same Boat
I seem to be in the same boat, only got the phone the other day so I guess it is an updated version, if you manage to find a solution can you let me know, and I'll do the same if I do, Regards Chris
Can you extract the image from zip file and flash it using flashify? Have you tried that? You are rooted already aren't you?
If I remember correctly........
On the ' No Command' screen, hold down the power and volume UP buttons for a few seconds, then release volume UP. This should take you into recovery.

But we've all done it.
