[Q] Locked my phone!! Want to save data!! - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Problem is I'm using Jellybean and my phone is locked and I forgot the pin!! Now, when I try to flash TWRP kitkat version it stays on stock recovery, same with Cwm recovery!!
Thats why I need the Jellybean version of the twrp recovery!
But I tried to download jellybean version of recoveries from xda and several other sites but it is erased from everywhere!!
Kindly provide a new link for downloading if anyone has it still.
Thanks in advance!!

No, you don't need an older version. You simply aren't installing it correctly. Follow the instructions EXACTLY as shown the recovery thread.

As I expected, you did not follow the instructions properly. The instructions direct you to "uncheck auto-reboot in Odin". You did not do this.

Directly from the instructions:
8. Hit "START". Wait for Odin to finish (~10-15 seconds). The message area will display "RES OK" when finished.
9. Restart directly to recovery mode before rebooting into OS.(Hold POWER, Volume UP, and the HOME button all at the same time. When you see the Samsung Logo, let go of the POWER button, but keep holding the Volume UP and HOME until you see the recovery screen).

Yes, depending on what data you want. But you will need the custom recovery working first.

Awesome

Here's the detailed steps to install the Stock Firmware for your device:
1. Head to the download page, this is the UNmodified firmware provided ‘as is’ from Samsung/carrier servers. [Don't forget to choose your location]
2. After download is complete, extract the downloaded file and you should get a MD5 file.
3. Enter the download mode form your device [normally by holding the volume up button + home button + power button]
4. Connect your device to your PC.
5. Start Odin.
6. Odin should recognize your device, and you can tell so by seeing that the first slot from the upper left is taken, if not then you need to install a driver for your device. [I personally just download Kies and it automatically download the proper driver for your device]
7. Click on PDA from Odin and browse to the extracted MD5 file.
8. Press Start.
9. Do not unplug your device until the process is fully completed.
10. The phone will reboot and you should see a Pass! on Odin, which means the process was successfully accomplished.
Don't proceed with any step of the past steps unless you fully understand every single one of them, if you have any difficulties understanding anything feel free to ask!
Thanks, will flash it when download finishes.

if you do all of instructions well, and didnt worked, then...
I THINK your problem will be solved by this way:
If you have installed samsung stuck recovery, or whatever ,now, just enter it by holding vol+ , home button and power button
then do all wipes. restart in download mod by holding vol-, power button and home button. after you've done it, then flash the stock official firmware in odin by given instructions
if I helped you press thanks button!:good:

These instructions mentioned above should work but, I higly recommend wiping user data ( only) multiple times [through recovery] and rebooting, then wait patiently for Samsung's logo as it usually takes longer times at first boot, If this didn't work, then I'd say doing what fellow member Reza Kashkuli recommended.

Wiped to factory settings, rooted and flashed cwm and it fixed itself  thanks for help again.

Brick, brick, and more brick

Guys, I think I really screwed myself this time.
1) When I turn my phone on, it shows "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again." However, when I try to do the emergency recovery on Kies, it doesn't show up on the list of devices that requires emergency recovery.
2) Somehow I deleted CWM, and I have no backups
3) Stock firmware doesn't load correctly. I tried it (Maybe with the wrong file, I don't know), and it got me to the start screen, but the touchscreen freaked out on me.
Hope all of you like a challenge... Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Phone won't boot to recovery, Even when I press up-home-power it stays in odin mode.
What bootloader is on your phone? The phone is an i747?

This sometimes happens when an ongoing OTA update is interrupted. You could first try firmware recovery via Kies. If that doesn't work, then you can flash custom recovery via Odin, since you can get into download mode, and flash a complete stock image or custom ROM via recovery. To try the first option ...
1) Install and open Samsung Kies on your PC. You need Kies now and not Kies-3
2) Open Tools => Firmware upgrade and initialization
3) Enter your model name (SGH-I747)
4) Enter the serial no of your device. Open the back cover and look in the battery compartment for this
5) Do not plug in your phone at this time but make sure you have a good quality data cable ready
6) Wait for firmware download to finish and follow the rest of the on-screen instructions. Connect your phone when prompted and allow firmware restoration to be complete.
Hope this works. If it doesn't, then try firmware restoration via (custom) recovery. I wouldn't suggest you try flashing with Odin in case your phone's bootloader already updated to 4.3. Your safest best would be to flash a complete 4.3 stock image and you can follow the instructions posted in this thread ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
First, you would need to flash custom recovery to your phone via Odin. You can use TWRP or CWM for now since the files posted in the thread support either one or other of the two. If you need further directions or help on this, please let us know. Good luck!

For the Kies way, It starts working, but then it turns off suddenly.
For the other way, I don't know how to do it, because I think CWM got deleted off my phone.
EDIT: When I removed the SIM Card, I was able to install the firmware. However... It freaks out whenever I put it in recovery mode, not letting me select an option. Oh, and When it gets to the purple oval with the samsung logo in the middle while booting, it shuts off.

You said you were able to successfully flash the firmware. Good! Was this via the Kies option or the recovery option? If you flashed the firmware, then you are there already. Can you try booting into recovery again and doing a wipe/factory reset? If this doesn't work, then we can try the 4.3 restore.

Except, of course, you'll need to be able to get into recovery mode fully to use this option. You may try downloading TWRP for your device via the following URL ...
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/d2att/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-d2att.tar
Boot your phone into download mode and flash the recovery *.tar file via Odin
Check if you can successfully boot into TWRP. If so, you can try the hard wipe thing here. If not, it gets more difficult and you may need to go back to Odin.
If TWRP recovery works ....
1) Try doing a hard wipe/reset. If this works and enables you reboot successfully, order a drink or something. If you still cannot boot successfully, then try next step below.
2) Download the 4.3 stock recovery zip for TWRP posted in the following thread. Verify the MD5 and save to an external SD card...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
3) Place the SD card in your phone. Reboot to TWRP recovery and select install. Wait for flashing to complete. Clear your cache/dalvik and reboot to system
If you still cannot get to recovery ....
4) There is an Odin flashable *.tar file for i747 on 4.3. There have been mixed reports on its success, however. Some have reported using it successfully whilst a few have reported a brick. You have little to lose, however, and a brick, if it happens, would be likely recoverable. Scroll through the thread to find the file posted by Recognized Contributor Enewman. Download this file and flash via Odin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722660
I'd have also suggested flashing 4.1.1 via Odin, except there is a risk that your phone is already on the 4.3 bootloader and flashing an older would result in a brick.

I thought you could get into download mode easily enough before? If you have difficulties getting into download mode, you may try using a jig as you will need download mode to effect any of the various solutions. There is no reason to panic, however. Your phone is never bricked as long as you can get into download or recovery mode.

my phone shut off in the middle, and it said that it failed. Now I'm back to the "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please connect to kies and try again" screen. I can still get into download mode. What now?

My phone on bootloop, and Odin is not working.

Hello. I'm not a developer or anything, but I do think that I know some things about technology. I have been trying to fix my GN2, AT&T. I have rooted it, and I did something bad, and now I don't even have access to recovery. Sorry if this question was posted some where else, but trust me. I've searched everywhere to find a way to fix my phone. Oh, and I do have access to download mode. Well, I did saw on a other post that you have to flash a ROM, via Odin to fix this. It did not work. It's my first time using Odin, but I put the .tar file in to the PDA section, and clicked start. (Of course with my phone plugged in to my laptop on download mode). After like 30 minutes, it failed. I tried some other USB ports, but it did not help. Please help me. I don't know what to do.

INSTALLING TWRP 2.6.3.1
- Run Odin3 v3.07.exe
Download Link http://www.mediafire.com/download/772dlmuaxfgm0x2/Odin307.zip
- Put your Note 2 in Download Mode
Entering download mode is very simple. First you will need to turn off your device. Once it’s off, you need to press this button combination: volume down, power button and home button. Keep them pressed until the download mode shows up. Once you’re there, you will be required to press volume up to enter the download mode or volume down to cancel and reboot the device.
Plug into a RELIABLE usb port and a RELIABLE usb cable (preferably the white Samsung cable) and wait for it to show up in Odin (COM5 or something like that)
- Click the PDA slot in Odin and locate the openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-t0lteatt.img.tar that you downloaded.
The filename that goes into the PDA Slot is openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-t0lteatt.img.tar
MAKE SURE IN THE OPTION AREA ONLY AUTO REBOOT AND F.RESET TIME ARE CHECKED!!!
- Click START and wait. It will complete and reboot.

No worries. Did you take a 4.3 backup before flashing 4.4.2 ?
If not, just ODIN back to 4.1.1 LJ2 like in Post #1. Then flash a custom recovery and you can then flash one of the 4.3 ROMS.
Oh look here's one ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2704375
Flash the 1.75 version then scroll down and do the 2.0 Update.
You can do that after completing Post #2 and following these steps under Option #2 in Post #3
OPTION 2:
You will need to flash a custom recovery. I'm detailing a TeamWin Recovery Project (TWRP) install
Here is an explanation of TWRP and how to use it to flash the [ROM][4.3][Dec-2013] AT&T I317-UCUBMK6/MJ4 *Stock* Rooted

Thank you very much! I fixed it!
Glad you were able to get it fixed. I had the same issue a few weeks ago. I'll compare your thread to mine to see the differences that got us the same problem...assuming they are the same. My thread about it is here

I'm in the same boat as the OP.. However, my PC will not recognize the tablet so I am unable to add files to the internal SD card. What are the steps I need to take to flash to the stock rom? I followed the link provided and flashed the recovery via Odin and I feel like Im still at step 0. What do I need to do from there? I really appreciate any help because I'm at a complete loss.

OK so you have kit kat and the custom recovery, right?
1. Download the file from step 3 in the link I provided and copy it to your phone's sd card.
2. Power off your phone.
3. Press the up VOL, Power Button and Home key all at the same time. release them when the samsung logo flashes.
4. If the phone reboots, power off and try again. You should now be at the TWRP recovery screen. If not then you didn't flash the recovery correctly. If not at the TWRP screen, repeat the recovery flashing step. Remember when in Odin, make sure the Auto Reboot is not checked. After it completes, power off the phone and repeat from step 3 above.
5. Once you get to the TWRP screen, select 'Install". Locate the SU zip file you copied in step 1 above, select it and slide the "slider" to flash it.
6. Reboot and that should do it.

Root sm-t700 mm

I've been scrolling through to find a way to root my tab s couldn't find a post for it. Is it possible to do it or not yet??

Sorry I didn't explain good enough. I flash TWRP in Odin choosing the AP button of course after going to download mode. Everything goes good tablet restarts. Try to go to recovery to root it but instead of TWRP it's stock recovery. I Hope that makes sense. Sorry again for not explaining well

Please refer to the link in post 6. This is precisely why I ask people not to direct link.
You will find your answer in the instructions there.
rooted with these expalnations but I have troubles
Hi, I rooted my Samsung sm-t700 s 8.4 wifi with the XDA CF one, but I have few problems:
1) tablet won't download and install PPP Widget
2) when in Es file manager (Pro) it doesn't recognize root (it happens only to this app, all the other ones get well)
3) tablet doesn't recognize internet key
I have SuperSu (Pro) and BusyBox (Pro) installed...
Perhaps in XDA CF, kernel value to use usb/otg as ethernet is locked? do I can work on build.prop to solve?
Many thanks
