Hey there,
First of all im using android 6.0 and i took of the case.
Last week my device suddenly began overheating and discharging aproximaly 1 precent every 2 minutes . Its even discharging while connected to the charger.
Pretty sure it has nothing to do with battery itself because i tried 4 different original batteries which all work perfectly fine with a different device.
I also tried to factory reset with no help..
I had a few "breaks" from this problem and sometimes it dosn't discharges quickly but when i start to use it, it starts to discharge fast again...
Is there something i can check before i send it away to the company to check it?
Thanks in advance,
Rony.
U need a waklock detecter also stock info whats drianing the bat screen web wifi also u can try safe mode for a few hours to see if its in ure apps or atock system

Hey folks, noob here. I did some searches but not seeing anything on this issues I have....at least in the incredible area.
I have the Dinc and am running CM7 and incredikernel. Sometimes while browsing through an app (facebook normally) with the battery at about 40%, sometimes more.....my phone will freeze, reboot and then i will have 0%. I have cleared battery stats after it reaches 100% a couple times, so I dont believe thats the issue.
Is this something that has already been encountered/documented/fixed?
Thanks.....and especially thanks if there is a massive thread on this that I didnt find.
Sorry I can't link you to the thread. I'm on tapatalk. But do a search for the battery callibration thread. It might help.

I really dont think its the calibration....
It just died on me with about 2 hrs of use and most of the time it was idle....something is seriously wrong.... Im almost wondering if my battery is smoked....
I had no problems with my phone prior to plugging it into a portable battery. It destroyed everything.....
I had this issue with CM7 however I would get down around 30% and then BAMMMM!!! the phone would shut off... I recommend you charge the phone up to 100% then turn it off unplug for a few seconds plug back in (while the phone is still off) and let it finish charging the battery completely... then and this is where it sort of stinks, wipe the phone completely and reflash CM7... once you reflash via CWM let your phone boot.. let it run power off flash the incredkernel and your battery issue should be fixed... as always make sure u run Titanium Backup so ur apps are backed up... Good LUCK!!!
First sorry for the translation, I'm from Brazil and I'm using translator ok.
I come here asking for help to you to solve a major problem that is plaguing me, and the next have a galaxy tab 3, SM-T210 model, the following is happening and the battery meter this crazy carry the tablet 100% off when I turn on 10 minutes on the battery drops 1% to% the tablet works well for hours, and placed on standby screen off the meter starts back until you reach 100% and so continues the meter is completely crazy, already tried everything restored original factory hard reset, I root already used the battery calibration, practically already tried everything porfavor count on help from you to solve this problem, I'm waiting thanks.
Same problem here. Changed battery and problem remains.
I can use it with 1% for hours, seems some problem with battery meter. I'm about to flash a custom rom / bootloader/ recover from scratch wiping all to see if it helps.
Otherwise I'll need to use it at 1% forever
-----------
Edit 1:
Absurd! Seems this device forgot the low battery level...
Replaced battery, flashed another stock clean rom with latest version (4.4.2)
This "drain" also happens on recovery screen.
It works with 1% during hours... I' ll try to let it drain all (wait it to really discharge all) and recharge 100% again.
-----------
Edit 2:
Haha, went to recovery right after post last update, then it increased from 1% to 100% without the charger
Seems something is messing up with the battery levels on android OS on all versions. I'll let it discharge on recovery... at least seems it is the correct level... let's see if the device learns again the battery levels
-------
Solved: removed battery, hold power button for 30 seconds (to clear all energy accumulated on circuit (capacitors?!) and plugged it again. Worked.
I read about it on some google search.

In standby overnight, maybe 3-5% battery drain. A lot of things come in play though such as what apps you have installed, if your on LTE, or 3g, or wifi, or even go into airplane mode at night, etc.

first of all , I'd like to thank you for your reply ..
I've bought a new desire 816 two days ago and I can notice something wrong with the battery as it drains faster than normal
and it gives false percent as it increases after restarting the phone ..
I've tried to calibrate the battery by letting in turn off by itself then recharging it to 100% but then I realized It's still giving me false number
I don't know what to do ... It would be great if you can help

Have you tried a battery calibration app such as the one by NeMa in the PlayStore? It requires root but it basically asks you to charge your device to 100% which is done from empty to max in about 3 hours. At this point you go in the app while its still plugged in and "clear" the batterystats. This is the file that tells the device how much charge it can hold and on some devices this file gets buggy/glitched. It will wipe this file away and generate a new one based on the charge the battery holds at max. It then asks you to use the device as normal until it dies and recharge to full afterwards. This has worked for many and I hope it will work for you as well.
If you have excessive battery drain look at the Power settings and review the usage. If it shows a green line on awake and it doesn't show the same matching the screen on time then you have a background app sucking battery from the device. Facebook and its Messenger are known to be the culprits but if you download Greenify from the PlayStore. It will allow you to hibernate practically every app so there is no battery drain when your device screen is off. In combination with this app I am able to get an average day and a half of use with no charge and normal use with Videos, Music, Facebook, Messenger; etc. I average I use about 6-10 hours on this device with pure stock w/ root & Greenify with battery calibration via app done.

Yes, Greenify does require root in order to work but it does work flawlessly.

Unfortunately, the lack of rapid reaction because I was too busy
Pressing the power switch for exactly two minutes and the device will tell you Alglaq Do you want to or not agreed to the demand and calibration Congratulations to you
Thank you
I fixed my battery issue. the exposed software killed mine relating to the same issue i believe you had or have. reporting wrong percentage. once had 50 percent, took it back out of my pocket and within 5 mons i had 4%. wouldnt charge.
Power it off... hold all 3 buttons (power+volume up+volumedown) after 15 seconds it will boot back up. this calibrated my battery. hope this works for you.
Wrong battery percentage report is fixed by HTC on 1.58 rom update. it works fine on 1.58 Rom
My battery on my htc is draining fast I think it went from 100% to 83% percent in like 20 minutes is this normal? I have disabled everything that I'm able to disable on this phone but once it gets to 70% the drainage kinda slows down
Hello everyone!
I have been using different Roms lately and the durability of the battery is pretty bad. Usually people say the battery should last at least 12 hours in normal use, in my case it works on use only a couple of hours (With screen off it can be on about 10 - 12 hours). And the weirdest thing is that I tried to drain completly the battery of my phone, after I got it I turned it on (With charger connected) and what happend was that I was into the window you get whenever you install a Rom or turn on the phone for first time (configurations, apps and the order of the things didn't change) and without even 5 minutes of charging my phone says it has 67% of battery. I've already tried different monitoring apps and also battery calibration apps, there was no improvement at all.
Any help or suggestion will be accepted.
Thanks for the help.

First flash stock ROM via ODIN. (Uncheck auto reboot) Manually reboot to recovery. Wipe data/ factory reset and wipe cache.
Use the ROM for a couple of days without installing extra apps to check battery performance. If phone battery does not last for over 8 hours on normal use, buy urself a new one.
Press thumps up if you found this suggestion helpful.

Hi, I just bought a used galaxy tab s 10.5 and the battery jump from 20 to 99% in 20 minutes when charging . I started using it at 100% and it shuted down for low battery in 30minutes and I power it on again a it said 75%. How do you thinks is going on with the tablet? Thanks and sorry for my bad english.
Do you know if it's rooted and has a custom recovery. Clear cache and fix permissions in recovery mode
No root
It is not rooted and it have stock recovery. Is there an app to reset battery stats?

try booting stock recovery and do a factory reset.if that don't work than look into rooting it and TWRP so you'll have the option to flash something else or clear the cache and fix permissions
done
I did the factory reset and the permissions fix thrught TWRP but the battery still crazy. What more can I do?
I got the tablet down to 0% battery, to the point that it wouldn't turn on.
Took off the back cover using prying tools and then disconnected the battery, power cycled thrice by holding and releasing power button and then reconnected the battery and let it charge overnight to 100% and now battery life is amazing, don't have those drastic drops anymore.
There are no warranty stickers torn etc involved with doing this so you don't have to worry about voiding it. Just take your time and start at the microsd slot, open the hatch and work your way around slowly. Its difficult first time around because there is adhesive glue as well as clips holding it down. But still very doable without damaging anything.
Here is a link to a battery calibrator for root users
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vitula.batterycalibration
There are other calibration apps
Definitely other options before taking it apart [emoji111]
..
I tried with the battery calibration app and nothing. I leave you a screenshot , thats is WHITHOUT any charge, when it shuted out I just turn it on again. What is indexservice?
OK after ready the links below I believe a debloated ROM could solve your problem

I will try a debloated rom because son process called index service is draining the 60% of my battery, but is rare that the tablet shuted down and when I tried to turn in on and it shuted down immediately for low battery, but and enter in recovery mode and leave it on with max brightness and it stay awake for 4 hours!! Even when twrp said that is has only 1%.

Post back to let us know it is after a ROM flash
Can you post a full screenshot of your battery settings. You just posted the graph. Not sure about the index service, but knox drains battery too.
Had the same issue crop up on mine. Did the the battery 0% drain then recharge a few times. And factory format. Now it just randomly keeps restarting (even when on charge now). Called Samsung and they have sent a pack to post it to them to sort I hope.
Now with the debloated rom the crazy battery drops have stop but I'm having random restarts. What's is happening now?
I know it's a lot of work and getting frustrating but let's try Odin back to stock .

Let's try back to stock. Thanks a lot for taking time to help me.

I'm on here all the time and when I get my devices the way I want them I just browse around trying to help with what I can .no problem and your welcome

Now with stock rom I still having random restarts and battery drops. I dont know what more to do and I dont have warranty.
I leave it all night on plugged in the charger and it didn't restart but when I started using it, it freezes up and restart.
Now it sounds like a kernel issue .I really dislike that cortex chip to
