I've only had this watch for a couple days and I already have a couple nicks on the watch itself. Not the screen but the watch. Ridiculous. I'm very careful with electronics. I don't get this. Kinda disappointing and makes me want to return it. How's everyone else's all black holding up?

Not a chance. My Sony sw3 is in perfect conditions. Have had it over a year today. I've had the Huawei watch 2 days and haven't done anything with it. Pretty sad. Awesome watch otherwise.

Don't now what to tell you then, my watch is fine...2 choices I suppose:
1. Return the watch if you aren't happy with it.
2. Keep it and deal with it.

That's the problem with black. If you bought silver, you could remove/buff off the scratches. using cape cod on the mirror parts or a brillo pad on the brushed metal parts.
But I admit, black is more cool!

Where are the scratches? How many do you have?
I've had mine since day one and I'm definitely not treating it with kid gloves and I don't see any scratches or blemishes. I know I've bumped it a few times...
Perhaps you have a defective unit?
I've had mine 3 months. I try to be careful and conscious of doing things with it on. I'll take it off if I'm working in tight quarters around metal or sharp objects. But I've still hit it against something on several occasions. A couple of times it was hard enough to scare me. But I have no marks anywhere on the watch.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
just like @crawrj mine hasn't been scratch.. but the bracelet is scratched like hell you can see it too but you have to take my watch away from me to see it other than that the watch itself is still scratch-less
I have 1 bezel scratch...gonna try black enamel paint to patch it.
No worries OP. You're watch isn't defective. It's just the nature of the beast. My black Huawei has a couple of nicks in it and the band itself has wear marks but it looks way cooler than the ss IMO. A little black paint in the nicks and they disappear anyway.

Just found out that there is a full body skin protector that will protect the watch - http://amzn.to/1UJjJ3K

Please be aware that the skin above doesn't protect the bezel. I used some black enamel gloss model paint on a scratch I had just above the power/hardware button - it's done a great job and you wouldn't see the scratch without looking for it.

Just so you know, Huawei used DLC coating over the stainless steel body, which is what high end watch makers use. This isn't cheap black powder coating or paint like you find on the LG G watch R. So, if you have scratched it hard enough to see the silver underneath, then you have hit the watch pretty hard.
I have had my Huawei since before release day and I don't treat it any different than I would a Casio. It has scratches, took a big hit to the bezel and so on. It has signs of wear and I don't mind that. It is a watch for Christ's sake!

I installed mine yesterday as I bought two so I would always have a spare as I sent away for another or walked into a store to get another one... I have used bodygaurdz in the past and this was my first ghost armor.... Not bad, nice squeegee and nice spray bottle with a lot of stuff.... I did mine on while riding as a passanger in a car... So it is what it is.... Also still waiting for the screen to clear up which takes a couple of days, but it is better than it was yesterday. I was going to post pictures, but it says I can't link to outside links because I am a new user... If someone can post them for me send me a pm and I will send you the photobucket links.

I also had bodyguardz on my touch pro. Just ordered the Ghost Armor for my evo as well, I absolutely hated how the edges peeled on it. Although, I think i will end up using a seidio innocase and just use the ghost armor screen protector. I just don't feel like the ghost armor or any skin for that matter will protect the phone from a fall on concrete.
Let me know how the skin ends up working out for you.

They all look like that until the stuff dries out in a couple of days.... Has nothing to do with doing it on a table or not. Read the instructions this is normal and it looks better now then it did in the picture.
I bought the Silicone Case and the Screen Protector at sprint and the phone works fantastic! Don't know why you guys need to cover the whole phone with that thing. I used to have an iPhone 3GS with Zagg Inv Shield and when I took it out to sell it, it was all completely sticky.
Never had an issue with my body gaurdz being sticky when i took them off and the phone looked like new.

I believe he was talking about the outside of the invis shield being sticky because of the case, not the phone.
After doing screen protectors on way too many iPads to want to admit too, the big thing I found is that you need to figure out what kind of protector you are dealing with. The thinner glossy protectors you can normally add water to to make placing them easier because they will breathe. The matte protectors will have an issue because they do not breathe and the water can get trapped.
In regards to the water, you need to be very careful in what you use. I know it sounds weird, but I suggest using bottled water with a drop of Johnson's & Johnson's baby shampoo. The reason for the bottled water is it will not leave any type of hard water residue behind if you don't get it all out.
Mine is looking much better... I can't complain... Nothing on the screen it going to make it look as nice as with out the plastic on it. But for protection I am willing to live with the looks. I can take pictures of it at home if you want and as for the spray I used what came with the kit to spray it down.
*EDIT: Nevermind*
Dude I want that coke fridge! Haha! And the ghost armor is badass I have it and wouldn't go any other way

make sure you take out the battery and DON"T put it back in after as the phone will reboot.

The solution they have dries really quickly, they added some substance it in, so even if the tiniest bit gets in there, you shouldn't worry too much, unless you spill the whole bottle in there lol
EDIT: this is speaking from the person who DRENCHED the screen protector before applying lol

Does it go right to the edges of the screen?
I got one ordered this weekend hopefully arriving soon.
How difficult was the application? I'm not too keen on wet application (Zagg, ugh) but is it pretty much drench, lay it on the screen and shift to center ASAP? Past experience with Zaggs, I've usually had to lay it perfectly on the first try since I wouldn't be able to shift it around afterwards.
FYI, "byublue", as mentioned earlier, takes $3 off, which is slightly better than 20%.

I'm assuming all wet applications should be the same, which means that your experience with zagg will be similar with xo.
You wouldn't be able to shift it around after its applied. However, you can peel it upwards, apply some more liquid, then place it back down
Did that with my skinomi, had no problem with it, should work with all wet screen protectors
Got mine today and applied it tonight. It was my first wet application, and it was WAY easier than the (dry-apply) SGP Crystal I had on my Dinc.
It goes very close to the edge of the screen.
No orange peel
No rainbow effect
As I said before... highly recommended

I don't think people realize that, sure even though your device isn't damaged from the liquid solution that may or may have leaked into the phone. BUT it probably set off the water damage sticker inside voiding your warranty.
That's the biggest fear for most people including myself.

they should offer a one-time design swap for any design as soon as these are released. you had 14 days to pick and re-pick your design... i think they should temporarily extend it.
Well, they added wood backs to the motomaker today:
https://www.motorola.com/us/motomaker?pid=FLEXR1#exterior/backplate
Unfortunately, it's only currently available in bamboo, costs $100 more, and will delay your order 2weeks...
Disappointing. They don't look solid... more like a veneer over a plastic back, or possibly a thicker plank fused within a plastic surround. In any event I seem to have lost interest here (especially considering the C note extra).

without having seen them in person, you can pretty much bet on this being the case. there's no way that they would have been able to engineer the wood such that it would be strong enough to grip on to the phone without a ton of glue. having said that, the amount of veneer used in the process probably only increased production by pennies.
i still think they look amazing and i still think there will be issues down the line (peeling, cracking, etc). at least moto is doing something unique here. with all of the functionality this phone offers, in addition to the overall design, this is my new favorite phone. here's hoping moto sticks with the design/process/etc and only updates the internals.

Every report I've read states that the backs will indeed be solid wood, so no veneer or anything that should peel. What I think they did was have the solid wood back fit into a plastic frame, which has the clips that attach it to the body of the phone. In this picture, I think the white border is the plastic frame.

unfortunately until we see them in person, and someone does a tear-down, we won't know the truth. i hope they're solid wood, but how thick could they possibly be? the picture shows the dimple present, which means the wood will need to have a similar thickness (or be thickened in the general area). the idea of it being a solid piece leaves me curious as to how they managed to get the speaker grill identical to the detail of the plastic cover. i can't imagine that wood fibers would allow for that amount of presicion.
Anyone have any experience with these? They just released the Nexus 5 version http://toastmade.com/Android.html

I actually like my Nexus logo running landscape on the phone like stock. I wonder if they can cut that out?
Since screen protectors usually cover those top and bottom areas, would you basically not be able to take off the screen protector without taking off the skin? Would you even be able to use a screen protector underneath? I feel like it might be elevated.
I have many leather bound books. And my phone smells of rich mahogany.
I couldnt resist. lol

Hey guys, got the cover this morning and below is a link to the photos. I haven't put the front face cover on yet but placed it on the phone for the pictures so you can get an idea. The white ash color works well with my white Nexus as it isn't that visible at the seems.
Installation was straight forward and wasn't too challenging. One concern is if I will be able to pop out the sim tray, but will test that when I get home tonight.
let me know if you have any questions.

Lookds good. How is the feel in the hand? do you feel the edges and all that?
The feel is good. It is less slick than the stock white back, so I don't feel like it is going to slide out of my hand. Also, although subtle, you do feel the grain in the wood which is a nice touch.
Regarding the edges, there is a small seam between the back piece and the side pieces that breaks the continuity but it is something that after some use I doubt I will even notice. The edge of the side that is facing the screen is a bit more noticeable, but nothing too concerning, it is a piece of wood after all.
All in all, it is very well made, I especially like how the single back piece is designed to wrap over the curves of the back plate.
Just bit the bullet on a bamboo front and back for my black N5 will update with a post when it arrives!

I ordered mine on the 5th of February and it shipped on the 12th, which was 5 business days. I didn't do priority shipping and it was delivered on the 15th. When I ordered mine, covers for the white nexus were shipping in 3 to 5 business days which is what I got. I do recall there was a message that said black nexus covers were taking a little longer to fulfill, not sure if that is still the case.

Getting out of a car and because there is no "grip" to the phone it slid out of my pocket. Dropped about 18 inches and hit a corner, dented the metal frame a little and cracked bottom of battery cover.
Bad part is case will be here tomorrow, guess it will cover it up but it still sucks.

This new "premium" design does suck in some regards. Hopefully that case covers it well. Once you put it on, you should never have to remove it because there's no longer anything back there to swap out.

It's $76 to have Samsung repair it and that includes round trip shipping. I dropped mine too.
Theres some on ebay
There's a couple on ebay ranging from $42-45 I believe. I left mine off and cleaned the adhesive off and just bought a $17 case cover. If you get a clear back cover I think it looks cool with the back guts showing
This is the reason and also that it's not removable that I'm not impressed with the "new build quality". Several friends that have the glass backed iPhones are carrying cracked phones. I would have been more impressed with a metal back. My one Nokia has a sheet metal SST back that was very strong and removable.

Wow its great that I found this thread. I too have the back of my galaxy note 5 cracked. How did it happen? I dont know exactly what happen, because I have it install with a flip case cover, so when I pull it out of the cover for weekly cleaning(wiping away any residue), I noticed a huge cracked and was really dissapointed. Well because mainly it is not a cheap phone and I guess I thought a corning gorilla glass 4 would be hard to crack. Sure I have lightly drop it a few time, but each of those fall I immediately check for any cracked and I found none. So I dont know what really happen. Anyway, after searching about this online, I am glad that apparently Im not the only one who has suffered this mishap and there is a way to fix it with mininal cost. Thanks again guys. ?
Same here... Had SView on too. Not my fault though. Small dab of Superglue in cracks to hold glass in
Clear case that shows your beautiful Note 5.

It seems there are a few replacement back glass listed on amazon, however, one of the reviews states when he received the product it was plastic.
