Ever since this ROM festival started, I've tried every ROM. And I have to say, the battery life IS TERRIBLE. My battery never lasts a on normal usage. we need to fix this, people.

Nameless rom is very best dude it is same as stock.
Just change cpu to 245hz under conservative

Stock ROM Battery Life

So I have been experimenting lately. I have only tried one custom ROM so far, but I have tried 3 different kernels with the custom ROM and 2 different scripts for UV and UC to help improve battery.
The ROM ran flawlessly, and all 3 kernels I tried did their job, they ran smooth/fast and had good battery life.
I was curious how much better my battery life is now compared to stock. So I decided to restore my Nandroid yesterday of the stock ROM straight from Telus. It's rooted obviously, but no special kernels, scripts or anything else. I wanted to compare and see how much my battery has improved.
TBH, and to my surprise, the stock ROM's battery life is much better than I expected.
Typically, what I do is leave for work each day with a fully charged phone. On the custom ROM, regardless of kernel selection I would still have 75% battery life remaining when I came home from work 9 hrs later. That's approximately 2.8% battery drop per hour, so a full charge should last me approx 36hrs.
Today my stock ROM is currently at 80% battery life after 9hrs. That's approximately 2.2% battery drop per hour, so a full charge should last me approx 45hrs. Almost 2 days of battery life.
IDK why there is a drastic change, maybe it's because the custom ROM was based on T-Mobile? I am running Stock Telus, which is much leaner than stock T-Mobile. I really didn't do anything different with the stock compared to custom. My setup was virtually identical and I used the phone the same way as well.
Just found it interesting. Wondering if anyone else had tried going back just to see how much battery they are saving.
I do miss some of the awesome features and customizations the custom ROM provides. But, very impressed right now with how well Stock is running. Just thought I would share my experience with ya. Have a good day. Peace.
When u flashed the custom roms, did u give two or three days in between kernel changes, and at least 3 charge cycles before u compared? Otherwise those figures are void. speaking from personal experience, apps on your phone and the kernel are doing a lot of behind the scenes stuff foe a couple days after, that's y 3 charge cycles are recommended before u judge

The main kernel and ROM combo I was running for 2 weeks. Switched and have been using another kernel the past 3 or 4 days? Switched back to stock yesterday.

Best Custom Rom for Stability and Battery

Hello,
What Custom Rom you guys think its best for Battery Life and Stability?
I've been using CM11 for the last few months and now im Trying Omnirom. They are both stable and use the same battery.
I cannot try every rom, so im asking here for your opinion.
I very much doubt battery life would be any different because of ROM version.
It has more to do with individual usage patterns
&
BT On/active/streaming
Brightness level/Auto
Data On/updates/push services
Calls talk time
Text/chat apps
Wi-Fi/Hotspot on/active
I'd say if your getting nearly 2h's of screen on time then the ROM is just fine.
There may be others getting more, but it all depends on how you use your device.
I don't mind charging my phone 2-3 times throughout the day(to help keep it topped up), I don't use Wi-Fi since I have unlimited data, unless it's for a large occasional download (testing new ROM/apps) have auto app updates and push services on) and leave BT on to automatically connect to my car stereo and start streaming music and also always leave auto brightness on.
Personally, I have tried lot's of different Custom Roms, and to be honest, none of them are as good as Stock 4.3 in terms of battery life and stability. Yes, other ROMs offer additional features and Android Versions that would otherwise be unavailable, but are mostly less stable, more laggy and have worse battery life. If you want customisation, you can root and use Xposed Framework.
That said!.. the best custom ROM that I have used is both FML Kitkat and FML Lollipop by MWisBest.

Recently I went back to 4.2.2 (Verizon) because no roms I could find had decent battery life. I started using greenify to help with memory, as I find that soon as it gets to about 100mb free, the lag is terrible.
So in your opinion FML Kitkat vs stock on battery is worse? I briefly tried FML Lolipop but felt it was too early in dev and buggy
thx,
riz

Yeah, I've always found that stock Jelly Bean has the best battery life. But your experiences may vary with usage.
I have used CM11, PA, Shiny ROM and FML so far. I cannot compare them to stock, since I haven't used stock due to lack of customization features.
IMO, Shiny ROM + Dirty V Kernel with Nephilim's settings had the best battery life. On standby, my phone ran for more than 2 days without a single charge. Performance was decent, although I wouldn't say that it was ideal.
I'm currently running on the latest FML Lollipop + Smitty L Kernel with Nephilim's settings. The battery life is decent, with about a day and a half standby time. Performance is fantastic. If you value both battery life AND performance, you might as well give this a try, as it is definitely worth the effort.

Stock vs CM

What is your opinion between cm and stock (preferring genysys rom right now)?
Some facts like performance, prettiness, camera and i would like to get lot of info of battery life (cuz im a maniac for battery, like sot, standby, on different factors...), and also your boot time.

Your Rom Experience with HTC One M9 as of September 2017

Recently got a M9. Wanted to know your experience about the most popular rom for the M9. Viper, Leedroid, ICE... How to you like them? What is battery life and performance?
I don't care about customization so as long as a rom is fast, stable, and hold good battery life, I would take it.
Let me know if you could jump in and share your thoughts.
Thanks
p.s. I actually went ahead and flash leedroid 10 v3.9.0 stable.
The room is fluent but I can't get notifications....
Do you have Leedroid tweaks installed?
I'm using ViperOneM9 now, seems stable and good battery.
I'm using ICE M9 5.5.9,and i have tested Viper rom. I prefered ICE with great battery life, smooth fast, and without problems. Ice great rom.
I used viperOne before, great rom with good battery life... I hated all the preloaded apps in the rom
I personally chose viper as the best stock based ROM but I found battery standby by time suffered to extent and i barely managed to get 8 hours out of the battery.
It also has far to many options and tweaks for my liking.
I ran a development stock ROM based on 4.x firmware for a few weeks, and it worked fine.
I'm currently running lineage OS 14.1 after a spell running lineage 15, but although 15 is very good, its not fully stable and has no working camera and does randomly reboot at times.
I'm getting a solid 14 hours stand by on the battery using lineage 14.1.
I just find that the best (for me) at this time.
The bad part of aosp roms is camera and sound.
For me stock nougat is the best.

Best ROM for battery and performance?

Hi,
I have several questions. As i do not like bloatware on androids i would like to know which rom you prefer.
The most important for me is battery life, second performance.
I have been looking for custom roms but there are so many of them.... I am not able to decide which one is the best.
You can also recommend stable kernels.
I have been reading and searching forums but roms and kernels update quite often....
I know its much to ask but that would help next users to decide what ROM to choose.
The best would be screenshots of SOT and Antutu benchmark.
Also that would help if XDA would make it as a rule to ROM developers to upload SOT and Antutu benchmarks
I'm using xXx Nolimits but i can't guarantee good battery life i don't know what happened but on all roms/kernels i'm trying only getting 4-5 hours SOT

Treskmod, just Treskmod. It's the snappiest and best Rom in terms of performance. The battery is also pretty dam good. It's based on AOSP with Omni's amazing stable framework. If you use tripndroid governor with deadline Io scheduler then you will never experience better performance.

If you like oos, stay on xxxNolimitsRom, been using this rom for more than 2 weeks, 100% stable, no lags, speedy performance and amazing battery life. I use snapchat, insta, whatsapp, spotify,fb messenger, telegram and youtube all the time with no battery saving options nor greenify and get 6-7hrs of sot daily. Give it a try.
Thanks for replies, I fixed the crazy battery drain problem, updated to latest oreo and I had 20% battery drain less than 1 hour. Showed me 3h battery life and now... I don't think it's possible but here is the proof of improved battery life...
