for the backstory: Recently I upgraded from the stock LG G3 D851 to CloudyG3 but short after doing that I noticed the terrible battery performance because of 5.0 lollipop. So I decided to get Fulmics which I am currently using now. I've been using it for a good week but i noticed two things that do not work now but have worked before. My Netflix and MMS.
When I go to Netflix and try to play a video, it just loads it infinitely. I tried resetting the device, uninstalling the app, changing setting in my AdAway. Nothing worked. And for MMS, I have it set up properly because I can receive images from people but I cannot send one to them. It just says sending indefinitely and informs me that it has failed after a long period of time.
Now, I don't know if this is because of installing Fulmics or the device being faulty because I had an issue with it in the past or something completely different. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated
Cheers!

Could you point me to the right place? There is a couple Fulmics threads and I don't know if you're talking about the most recent 4.2 update or something else. Thanks

Actually scratch that, I found the fix. Thank you so much!!! And as for the MMS problem I think it's just my phone showing it's age. I've had basically the same issue only with SMS where I was able to receive messages but could not send any.

mms has nothing to do with the age of the phone. Maybe double check if you got the right VPN settings?....

hey guys, i have the stock rom of tmobile (windows 6.5) and i have a problem.
i dont know why, but my mms never downloads on its own.
i always get a message saying the download expired and if i want to try to download anyways.
i always want my mms to download and send automatically.
any help would be great.
(i've searched for MMS reg tweaks and things like that but nothing was ever the exact problem i had.)
T-mobile is nothing but trouble.
I was with them for 2 years, no MMS with the razor, then I updated to A1800 nothing, no MMS and no internet access.
After repeated calls to the tech support to fix the internet, they all failed and I switched to Sprint.
Sorry i am not solving your problem, but you may want to think about switching.

but now i like the stock rom too [odd, i know] and thats the rom i have the problem with
It's been awhile since I was on stock but have you tried going to settings>connections>connection>connections and pick *Automatically configure connection* and see if that fixes it. I had the same problem and did that and had no more probs. Hope this helps Good luck

stupid MMS should just download and send on time!
i have searched every possible threads and browsed Google for hours to find for a solution. but i couldn't find any. i have a stable WiFi connection, yet, my whatsapp messages are delayed.( they are not delayed if i am using mobile data). if i send a msg now it takes forever to send it.moreover if someone send me a messsage , i receive it lately, probable 3,4 messages together. i have also noticed that my WiFi do not stay active when i use whatsapp.probably this is the reason my messages do not get sent instantly. the two small arrows in the WiFi bars disappears.which means data are not being sent or received.i have to open the play store or browse the internet to make the connection active. why is it that when i use whatsapp the WiFi connection becomes inactive but when i browse,WiFi is healthy? is there any way that i can force WiFi to stay active and connected when i am using whatsapp?or is it possible to increase the priority of whatsapp to use the max WiFi strength just like browsers and play-store? i really can don't care about battery if i can use whatsapp properly.is there any modded whatsapp apk which can force max wifi to stay active etc etc... i am really frustrated. any help is highly appreciated.
p.s: i have changed kernels, from Franco to trinity than Franco again, unchecked "avoid poor WiFi connections", set WiFi sleep policy to "never"
Sounds more like a problem with your WIFI router then the phone itself. Have you tried to reboot your router?
WIFI High performance widget might help you to keep the WIFI alive when screen off.

Did you tweak the Wifi parameters with your custom kernels (low latency mode)? Have you tried flashing back stock kernel to see if that fixes the issue?
not yet. but my question is if the wifi network was the problem then my brothers htc one x running ics and galaxy tab running gingerbread should also face this problem in whatsapp, ryt? but they dont.is it the rom i am using?do u think getting back to stock might help? any recommendations? i love xenon
I know exactly what you're talking about because I experience it as well. It doesn't matter what ROM, (stock, CM10, PA etc) kernel, (stock, Franco, Trinity etc) or what WiFi network I'm on (work, home, coffee shop etc) but whenever I'm on WiFi my messages in WhatsApp are delayed when the application isn't open. I've basically concluded it's the app itself that has a problem with WiFi. I have no fix, I just keep hoping that the next update will fix it.
The developer website isn't very helpful either. Basically suggesting not to use WiFi if the other fixes they suggest don't work.

I know it was running fine for me on ICS, but I noticed it changed after JB. I run the version of WhatsApp offered directly from the website which I think is different from the Play Store, so I don't know if it was a version change, or something specific to JB.
If I know I'm going to be using WhatsApp I stay off WiFi. Not ideal, but it's the only thing I've done that's "fixed" it.

If you always had this problem since the day you bought the phone and on stock (not sure if you flashed a custom ROM right on the first day you owned it), probably not. But if whatsapp worked fine before and the problem was introduced after flashing a custom ROM/kernel, I'd say returning to stock will probably fix it.

I've used whatsapp since day 1 I have my gnex. No issues whatsoever, not on ICS nor on JB. I also don't see this forum flooded with people complaining about whatsapp, so I'd say it's a specific problem linked to your whatsapp account and/or phone.

I've used Whatsapp for a very long time, previously on an HTC Desire S and now on my GNex GSM and never had issues.... I'm on stock JB rom but I've tried several others with diff kernels and no probs whatsoever. Until today. Faced the exact same prob as the OP described (whatsapp msg's go thru or come very late on wifi but do so fine on 2G/EDGE - however everything else works just fine re gtalk msg's/browsing etc and whatsapp works fine too on my brother's SGS3 on wifi).
Was going nuts googling about it when my brother informed me that he'd changed the home ISP and now our wifi router was pumping out access from a new ISP's modem. So I tried switching back to the old ISP to test (swapped the cable modem that connects to our wifi router) and whatsapp works fine again. Then my brother switched back to the new ISP's modem and same problem for me on whatsapp! So we factory reset the router after upgrading it's software to latest from the manufacturers website and now, finally, whatsapp works fine for me on both ISP's modems.
Maybe you can try messing with your router (factory reset or look thru its settings or try another ISP input just to test?), maybe it will help. It's a strange issue though. (FWIW my router's a cheap one by TENDA and my phones wifi sleep policy is set to always on).

Hi folks,
Sometimes I can't receive picture messages and I can never send them to my wife's telus phone. They show up as white squares with no text included. Anybody had this or can provide suggestions? I have tried many things so far. Full story below...
Thanks
**************************
I have a Telus T989/ S2X. I have had it for 1.5 yrs and have flashed numerous ROMS since I rooted it about a year ago. Over this time I have had MMS issues on and off.
From early ICS ROMS (darkside) and now to Jelly Bean roms (CM10 nightly, Jedi Jelly, Slim-Star...and more) I have had a strange issue. I can send picture messages to almost everyone and receive from almost everyone. Occasionally I have an issue receiving from friends on the Rogers/ Fido network and it stalls at 'downloading'. I tried unchecking auto-retrieve and it does not fix it. I have also tried multiple radios on multiple roms.
More recently my msgs cannot be viewed when I send them to my wife's phone ( I know, a blessing sometimes right?). She is on the same network (Telus) and has no problem sending/ receiving from anyone. When I send to her it shows as a white/ blank square and none of the text I typed shows up. Regular text are no problem ever.
I called Telus support and they ran me through checking the APN settings and a bunch of other tests sending pics back and forth and no fix. They are going to escalate the problem. I tried the trick of sending yourself a picture via gmail too without any luck. I didn't tell them I was rooted and on 4.1.2....but I have tried tons of diff roms and done a bunch of searching on the forums and google.
Just today I tried the Koodo 4.0.4 rooted ROM with no luck. Then I got pissed off and backed everything up and rolled back to the Telus 2.3.5 Gingerbread ROM. Guess what? MMS worked just fine!!?? I double checked the APN settings and they were identical.
So....has anyone else had this issue? I don't want to be stuck on Gingerbread just to use MMS. Could it be that the newer versions of the MMS/ SMS have issues? I noticed that when I went back to 2.3.5 it said "converting to MMS" when I attached a pic. I never see that in any other ROM.
Any suggestions or solutions that people have come across? I am slightly frustrated....especially since my wife's Nexus S has no problems and my S2X is way better but failing.
Thanks for your time and thoughts folks!

maybe u were send pics that were larger than the network supports. Hypothetically telus may only support 5meg attachments while Rogers/Fido does 10 ( I think this is actually the case but I'm not 100% sure). Use a third party app like hand cent or gosms that supports MMS compression and see how u fair

It seems like some are getting through with Handcent. So the stock app in CM10 is not working then? I should try different size files maybe to see if that is a factor like you said.
Good Afternoon!
I recently upgraded my Optimus S to an Optimus G and loving it but after rooting I'm not able to send text messages nor when i do get a reply its usually after a couple days or after a reboot. I've gone through and updated the PRL,Profile, and firmware and ive updated all the permissions as someone else recommended with no avail. Sprint of course states that i should drive the hour and a half to the closest sprint repair center to fix it. So i guess i am stumped on what else i could do on my own to fix it, and if i cant how would i Un-root the phone so they dont get all weird since the phone was rooted?
Update: After deleting the SD>Data>Datacom.android.providers.telephony>databases>telephony.db i was able to send and receive texts messages for about an hour...then for some reason it wouldn't work again am i just missing something?
Update 2: Completely started fresh and now back to a stock rom, this issue was fixed in the process besides almost bricking meh phone, worked for a little while then stopped again
Update 3: So after countless hours of help from the great people on the IRC channel and breaking down and talking to sprint i found out it was from the Airave that was messing with the internals of the system and once i reset that it worked fine
Fixed

After a huge debacle it was all fixed thanks to Artlan on the IRC channel
So anytime I install a CM based rom I can no longer send or recv MMS. I have ran bliss pop, res.remix. cm 12.1 plain and 13 plain. None of which will allow for MMS. Even installing a 3rd party sms app and manually inserting APN values does nothing. All apn's are correct in system settings.
But as soon as I go back to stock, or a modded/slim version of stock, everything works just fine.
Is there an issue w/ CM and MMS? And if so id there a fix?
thx!

Delete all of the default APNs available and then create a new APN with your APN settings, It should work fine because from my experience any other similar APN settings to the one that you create interferes with your custom made one.
Already did that. Manually added along side default APNs. Added APN alone. Restored default APNs. Nothing.

I have no clue then, this was the only method I did to get my APNs working.
You could try every custom rom until there is one that gets the APNs working
I am on Cricket Wireless and ran into the same issues, even after entering the correct apns and deleting the other ones. This occured on every rom except stock based roms. I have solved the MMS issue by toggling airplane mode on and off every time that I restart the phone, and that pretty much fixes the issue.

I too am on Cricket.
I am now running Super Zen which works great. Just wondering why this seems to be a CM issue that hasn't been addressed. I guess not enough people are having the issue. Which in the end could be a Cricket/AIO issue, who knows.
Thanks for the reply. cheers

I'm running BlissPop on my Z00A in Australia with two SIM cards as a daily driver. Vodafone (SIM1) for personal and Telstra (SIM2) for work.
Firstly I'm pretty pissed I can't do MMS on SIM2. I thought I could at least do it slowly over 2G. Now I find I can't at all. My priority however, is to get MMS working on SIM1 since most people can email me at work instead.
Toggling airplane mode doesn't work for me either. In addition SIM2 doesn't reconnect until I manually search "Network operators" or reboot.
Unless the MMS on CM issue gets fixed soon I'll be heading to a stock/slim ROM.
Wonder why this has gone on for as long as it has. 12.1 has been out for a long enough time that it should have effected the masses. Unless enough people don't care about MMS.
Has anyone tried a cm13 rom and does the problem still exist?
