No Power Button - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

So my power button no longer works. Typically when this happens and we have root, we can use one of the reboot programs from the app store. I have tried the ones that claim to not need root to work but none of them do. Short of using ADB to reboot and removing the battery, is there anything else I can do? Are there any apps I can use or anything? Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Disable / Uninstall Voice Dialer app

I've tried to disable voice dialing since I don't want to use this feature with my bluetooth headphones, I keep misdialing people by accident when hittingt he 'speak' button on my headphones, and cant get to my phone quick enough to turn the call off.
I've tried to uninstall via titanium backup, however the app is restored after a reboot.
bit annoying, and theres no software option to turn it off eitehr as far as I can see.
Is there a way of doing this?
Thanks in advance.

are you rooted with s-off? if your not rooted you cant remove it, and if your rooted but dont have s-off, you will need to use adb to unistall it
rooted - yes
s-off - no
I had problems with the adb drivers, and getting adb to work. Could I use the same script in a terminal app like terminal emulator?

No you can't unless you are S-OFF as the system partition is read only when the phone is fully booted. So, unless you are prepared to S-OFF, you will need to get your ADB access working.

[Q] Finding HBoot version

I was trying to follow the noob instructions, but I can't seem to access the info screen that should appear when I hold down the down volume key and power on - is it something to do with it being a vodaphone branded machine?
Edit:sorry solved that, was reading a post that said to turn off fast boot in "Under settings > applications > remove tick right of fastboot." - its in power not applications
The other thing is, I am wanting to keep the phone exactly as it is, but without the bloatware that is on it - to do this I only have to root it then I can uninstall what I don't want, right? I don't need to do anything else?
What happens when you hold vol down + power?
Removing bloat will not give you more space, you know that right?

Yeah I got the boot working - fastboot was on.
On the other issue, it is more to do with a couple of unremovable apps that are constantly updating - a barcode reader which is apparently part of a botched vodaphone update as well as the flash player - they never complete their updates and aren't removable. As well as some other stuff that just gets in the way in the app list - I don't use them and they make it harder to find the thing I am actually looking for.
If there is some way of just hiding them from the list, that would be fine too. EDIT: actually it wouldn't, as it wouldn't cure the updating issue.
So I guess what I am asking is if I can root without changing anything else, and that will allow me to remove the offending apps?
You can freeze them in titanium or remove with root explorer if s-off.
Or use adb to remove. Guide for that in my signature

I might be flashing, and I have a question, will this same thing happen if you only freeze setupwizard and not remove it?
Are you sure it has to do with setup wizard? I've removed that app on both my phones with no issues

Happened to me also, but only after I factory reset the phone to give it too a friend, also when calling the phone it auto hangs up on the caller. Trying to reflash it atm to get it sorted.

I think I lost root. How do I check and fix?

I've had a few apps tell me that I'm not rooted and my wifi tether no longer works (laptop doesnt even see the network. Tried changing and using another tehtering app and it saw it but only gave me limited connection. No internet.) but when I put SU into terminal emulator it returns #.Can someone please tell me how to check to make sure my root is still fully entact and functioning.
Try opening the superuser app.
Thanks for the fast response man. I really appreciate it.
I did and it didnt do anything so I cleared the permissions for it aaaaaaand think i made it worse. in super user I scrolled down to the wifi tether app and clicked it and hit the trash icon withouth thinking it through. IS there a way to manually add allowed apps. I also noticed SU never prompts me to allow apps anymore. Really holding up my ingress progress. lol

Just run any app that needs root and it will prompt you again. You cake also download root checker from play store.

Thank you too eles. I actually just did that and it told me I dont not have proper root access. But Terminal emulator does show # when prompted. Can either of you tell me how what may have caused this and how to fix it. I did just get the 4.1.1 update from T-mo so Im thinking maybe that.
Reflash superuser with your recovery.

Thanks again aero. I reflashed it and Root checker still says im not. I also tried to run fix permissions and it says an error too.I also tried to do a back up and it hangs on "done freeing up space". What would be your next step to diagnosing/fixing this. and Thanks again you guys I've been freaking out a little. lol
Just re-root.
Then reflash your favorite ROM.
How did you root in the first place?

Is it really that simple? Won't there be some issues because I have a somewhat partial root already? I honestly don't rememeber my original method. I did it back in september and havent messed with it since. I never even ran any roms I'm still bone stock. Is there a method you would suggest? or possibly a link to it?
Yes, it really is that simple.
If root still isn't working, follow instructions in my signature. The su zip is also going to wipe out any previous superuser/supersu that is present on your phone.
Alternatively, if you already have CWM on your phone, you can use this http://db.tt/okfh9vzU to update it without tripping your counter.
Thanks to your guys' help I was able to reroot using the tool kit. Now my issue is that I did this to fix my wifi tethering issue and its not. What app would you guys suggest for tethering? I dont have it on a part of myplan but I know theres ways around it. Wifi tether and barnacle didnt work (wasnt seen by laptop or other s3) and fox fi was identified, let me connect but said it was limited, then eventually went to fully connected but still wouldnt load pages or anything. If I can get one of you guys to help me solve this by suggesting an app or something I'll get out of your hair.
Do I need to load a custom rom to tether maybe? Thanks again guys.

[HELP]Shell has been granted Superuser permission?!?!

Okay, what the hell?! Every now and again (usually when I'm running Dolphin Browser and/or trying to cut/copy/paste) I get a floating notification at the bottom of the screen that says 'shell has been granted Superuser permissions'! It flashes a few times and then my phone restarts. When it turns back on, I have to restart Juice Defender and SwiftKey (default keyboard ALWAYS comes back, even if I shut down or restart myself!) manually. I went into the Superuser application the other day and there was nothing in there by the name of 'shell.' In fact, the only two things I have granted Superuser permissions to are Titanium Backup and the Android System (is this the culprit, I wonder). Either way, this problem has become a real pain in my ass. It always happens at the most inconvenient times. I would really, REALLY appreciate a solution to this problem.
Also, I have my phone set up just the way I like it, as far as the layout and what not. I've only rooted my phone, I have not replaced the G/UI or OS. If I backup my phone on Kies, wipe it and restore the backup, will it restore the root, Superuser, etc? Or just my apps, data, UI layout and what not? I'm beginning to think that I don't know enough about rooting, or just have horrible luck with it, and need to just run the phone stock. Is there a way to root, delete bloatware and unroot?
Thanks in advance for the help! I appreciate it.

Seriously? No one knows anything about this? There's another post about the same problem that has also gone unanswered.

Does it happen every time you copy paste something? Have you tied other browsers to copy paste from?
Something could have happened during rooting. I assume you have a cusom recovery? I might try and flash Chainfire's root method found here http://download.chainfire.eu/324/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.30.zip It will just overwrite the supersu and the su binaries.
If that doesn't do anything for ya I would Odin back to the stock rooted ROM found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 and start over. Or try one of many great custom ROM that are available.
I don't know what else you could do. If you could get a logcat it would definitely help find out why you are having these issues, and actually solve them. There are plenty of resources on how to obtain a logcat here on xda. Or try an app from the store to save the logcat. PM me with the attachment and I will look at it for you.
I could be totally wrong. BUT I think its samsung doing it. When I denied it permissions it restarted. I did it again and it did the same. I think its intertwined b.c I never had it with AOSP roms
