Hi, Last night I was playing with my new charging dock that I 3D printed and all of a sudden my SW3 stopped charging. The LED on the charging brick blinked a couple of times and that's all she wrote. I tried different cables, different charging bricks and nothing seems to work. I had about 20% of battery power left so I just turned of my SW3 to conserve it a bit. Any ideas?
Would love to see what your charging dock looks like! anyway, have you tried charging from a computer's USB port or directly from a wall outlet with a phone charger? Hope it isn't a hardware problem...
You can also charge when it is off.
I tried all these options, I think that my charger fried the watch charging circuitry. I bought a second one off craigslist yesterday and charged it in the car on my way home. Once I got home I plugged it into the same charger and now I can't charge the new watch either. I'm going to be forced to file a equipment warranty claim from the charging station manufacturer and hope for the best. By the way here is the charger in question. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009DCNP9O?redirect=true&ref_=cfb_at_prodpg

so the option to not charge it is not ticked under power settings, and its set to charge via usb from advanced config and still no dice.
tried different usb ports and nothing
the led is orange, says its charging in power options
any thoughts?
Try a diffrent usb cable, some cables do not provide enough power to charge the phone. (guessing maybe they are old 1.1 cabels). But I know I have a few cables around that dont charge my phone and they also will not work with my portable external usb hard drive because they wont provide enough power for it. But they work just fine with my digital camera.
I´ve read somewhere that disabling USB charging is better for the battery life, so I have it disabled.
You've tried different USB ports, but were they on the different computers?
so i've tried different cables, different ports and 2 different PC's and 2 different laptops.
I know its not the cable i'm currently using because i plugged it into one of those A/C to USB adapters and charged fine.
I'm starting to think its my batter,
If you have tbattery installed, do u get values for all the boxes?
All mine except 3 or 4 are 0 :/
Well, you are not the only one having this problem. Mine is brand new. I started setting it up last night and had it hooked to the computer via usb. I installed a few .cabs such as google maps, myphone, and a few tweaks such as tether, disable sent notification, enable all camera modes, and manila start menu unlocker. While it was connected it said it was charging. When I went to bed I turned it off and connected it to another usb cable on another computer which is an a/c hub. I went to turn it on this morning and thought it was strange it was not fully charged. I continued to set it up a bit and take it for a spin. After a while I turned it off again and hooked it to the usb a/c charger again. I just tried turning it on and nothing was happening. I connected it to the usb again and it finally turned on, but I checked the battery level and it was at 0% and turned off. I have it connected to the a/c charger and giving it a little bit to see what will happen. One thing that seems strange is that the battery discharged more while it was off and attached to the usb a/c hub during the afternoon causing it to refuse to turn on at all. Any thoughts?

I think the odds are pretty good it's your battery. The orange light means power is going through the charging circuit, so you obviously have your settings correct.
I'm guessing you're in Austin or near? If you want to try popping my battery in it for a few minutes and see if it charges fine then, PM me and we can set something up.
the same thing is happening with mine. Sometimes it will charge, sometimes it wont. weird thing is that it only started doing this a few days ago... i know nothing has changed ROM wise, so only things i can think now is maybe the actual USB connector on the phone or the battery, but since I am getting a charge via wall chargers im not sure what to think lol
Just an update.
If i have the USB cable plugged in (and car charger to which doesn't charge as well ) after 15 min or so a warning appears saying that the current is too low to charge the device. Either closed unused apps or switch to a/c power.
I've ordered a 1800mah Mugen Power Battery. Gonna see if it resolves the issue, if it does then i'm gonna call at&t and see if they'll swap my battery for me.
I have found as have others here after reading some posts that if the phone is almost dead or battery is very low then it will not charge via the USB anymore. The orange light goes on and it says that its charging but the charging circuit seems to be protecting the phone and not letting the battery charge.
The only solution I have found, and it has only happened twice so far is to plug it into a wall charger and fully charge the battery. It will then charge via USB again and all is good. I normally only charge my phone with usb while connected to Activesync but once in a while you seem to need to top it up with a wall charger.
It is also highly recomended not to run Lithium Ion batteries right out.
How do you know it is not charging?
There is a difference in the wiring from a wall charger and a USB charger. There is a signal line in the wall charger telling it to charge at near 1000ma. In the USB cable that line tells it to limit the charge current to 500ma. That is the limit for current that you should pull from a USB port. If you are using the unit heavily, you may actually need more then the 500ma., those running the battery down possibly.
If the unit is idle, it will still take much longer to charger from USB then off of a wall charger.

If you are asking me, I know it was not charging because I also had the "not enough power to charge message" and the phone went from about 15% when I plugged it in to stone cold dead by the morning. The whole time it was pluged into a computer I have used repeatedly to charge it with. I then put it on a AC charger and it went to full charger in about an hour and a half or so.
My Desire has already connected to the AC but it had done nothing after an overnight charged. Any solution for this? The LED is on when it connected to the AC.
Same here since a few days
anyone with a solution?
If it is refusing to charge, maybe a dead battery or something like that? If so talk to HTC about it. Could be something else but very much unlikely.
Usb and car charger seem to work fortunately. Probably a broken ac adaptor . Strange because the orange charging led is lit while plugged in however it's not charging. Whrn I plugged in an old cigarette to usb charger in my car which resulted in amessage from the phonr cmplaining that there is not enough current. Not the case with the ac adaptor. Charging led is on but using battery instead of charging
Hi,
I've dropped my phone while charging and after that I could not charge it. What happened was that the two hooks on the mini-USB port were ripped off and the contact was imperfect. I replaced the USB-miniUSB cable and it worked, I've had no problems since. I hope that your problem is as easy as this.
[SOLVED] I just picked up the HD multimedia dock for my Atrix and have been using it in the evenings with my phone and love it! I have noticed that strangely it drains my battery! Much faster if streaming Hulu or something though. Yes, the power supply is attached
Have you experienced this? When I sleep the phone, it will charge it to 100%. Wondering if I have a dud. Wanted to find out if this is "normal" before I try to reach Motorola for warranty.
UPDATE - I failed to mention that I was using one of those wonderful Chinese cells I got on Ebay in the phone. Once I placed my OEM battery into the phone, the discharge appears to have gone away. Updated this post just in case someone searches for this in the future.

did you plug the dock into the wall? It suppose to charge your phone also, not drain it. Double check if you got an A/C adapter with it
Indeed as my question stated, it is plugged into the adaptor and it will charge to 100% once I turn off the screen.
By the lack of folks chiming in, I assume I got a faulty wall wart, so will start the process of figuring out how to exchange the power supply under warranty.
the dock can be kinda funky sometimes when it is plugged in. watch your battery icon to make sure it is charging when it goes into the dock. There are some comments about this on the motorola site. Sometimes I have to unplug the adapter and plug it back in until a couple of times before the charger "kicks in". the mods on that forum suggest plugging directly into the outlet, not a power strip.
Recently I've noticed that my Gnex battery will LOOSE charge when plugged into any power source that isn't the Samsung charger. Weird right? If i plug it into my laptop, car charger, an LG wall charger the battery will drain. It has happened multiple times where i've hit 15% battery life and plugged it into my laptop or car charger and it will loose a 1% about every 2-3 minutes.
I've switched roms with no luck. What is going on?
Its not uncommon for this to happen from a laptop port - especially if the phone is being used while plugged in. The USB output on laptops is likely not very high.
Check the amperage of the alternative chargers you are using. If its too low, they won't be able to keep up. Make sure its the same as what the stock Samsung one puts out. Can't recall its exact specs off the top of my head...
Laptop and car charger are 500mah or less. Your phone is using battery faster that it's recharging. Nothing odd about that.
charger
I'm charging on my laptop with a cable of blackberry and no loss there. Charging with at the wall I'm using only samsung utilities so I can't help you out there..
Despite that I don't understand what that has anything to do with rom's?
When I set my 360 on the charger, it wont charge. I have to unplug the charger, plug it back in, then it will work. Every day.. every time I put it on, it wont work until I do the steps mentioned previously.
Anyone else?
I'm having the same sort of issues. I haven't tried unplugging the charger. I just put it in place and I'd it doesn't start to charge remove and replace. I tried the Droid Turbo charger wall wart on the and it doesn't work at all.
I have the same issue on occasion...extremely annoying when you don't notice it until you wake up to a dead 360 in the morning! Add that to the massive battery drain since the last Android Wear update and I'm charging twice a day now!
I am having an issue with my charger and it appears the port on the dock is broken and I have only had it for a month... :/
I had that issue a while back with a cheap ebay charger. Not with the moto charger. pretty sure it's defective somehow
