DOZE Available - Galaxy S3 Neo General

Hi guys
There is DOZE app on the play store. It is released a few days ago, and I am using it now. I have to say it is doing fantastic job. It saves me at least 20% percent battery.
You can install it, and write your opinions and was it helpful for you in this thread.
All the best

I'm not an expert but I believe the real doze is more than an app.

That's not real Doze from Android 6.

Greenify!

No more envy of your friends' iPhone which never become slow and battery hungry after lots of apps installed. With Greenify, your Android device can also run almost as smooth and lasting as the first day you have it!
Greenify help you identify and put the bad behaving apps into hibernation when you are not using them, stop them from battery leeching, memory hogging and stealthy running, in an elegant and unique way! They could do nothing without your explicit launch, while still have full functionality when running in foreground. Like what iOS apps act!
The built-in App Analyzer will analyze and show apps in your device that keep running persistent services and those launch itself automatically on a regular basis (when network connectivity changes, or every time you unlock your device, install / uninstall / update your apps, etc).
ROOT is required. If you are experiencing hibernation issue, this may be caused by your root management app (e.g. "SuperUser"), please try installing "SuperSU" instead.
here is the link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify ( you can download it from attachments too !! )
There is also a donate version which lets you put system apps for hibernating as well!
Here's the link for that..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify.pro
Give it a try people and don't forget to thank the owner and me if I have helped..
OP I have removed the apk because the developer only wants it to be downloaded from the playstore (yours was the old version anyway). Here's the link Please don't do that again. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155737
Cool app! Missed this one until now. I'm wondering if there any advantages/disadvantages to "Greenifying" apps compared with "Freezing" apps with Titanium Backup. It seems that Titanium's freezing requires more work on the user's part. Their widget that freezes/unfreezes and launches and app is very similar. The difference is that I have to manually REFREEZE the app when done. Is this correct? If so, this is a wonderful app. Still testing...just installed. THANK YOU!
You are correct! I used to use titanium b/u pro.. But like u say, it requires much user attention and input. I much prefer greenify, and I seem to get better battery life with it too (likely because of the automation, thus less screen-on time = better batt life). Not sure if it gives better performance, cause I don't push my phone very much, and it was already fast as hell with tbp.. I'm running soa b4 right now, previously jmt6 worked great with both. Hope this helps

Update: just from modifying my greenify list a bit and switching to interactive governor, am now getting 5-6 hrs screen on time.

I don't know if I'm seeing much difference with this app. I have been using it for some time already, but most of my battery hogging apps (according to the greenify app) are messaging apps, tapatalk, etc that needs to notify me when it needs to. If I greenify these, I won't get any notification from them, right? Is this correct?
If so, then i'm not sure if will see much difference in battery life anyway..
I get a full 12 hour day with 20%+ left by 10pm

[Q] A solution for Play Services nlp wakelocks on Lollipop, without using Xposed

Hi.
Everything seems awesome on Lollipop, apart from the crappy crazy Play Services wakelocks. I've greenified Google Play Services, and although it fixes the mad battery drain, it doesn't seem to like it, and after a few hours, the phone gets absurdly slow. Removing it from Greenify results in normal speeds, but increased battery drain.
I remember using Amplify, and Xposed module, to fix the high battery drain, by increasing the Play Services location polling time, but now we don't have Xposed anymore.
Is there any known way to fix this?
I've noticed the same thing and also used to use Amplify.
I have the exact same problem, used to use wakelock terminator too, but that requires xpsed framework as well....
Any solutions welcome...!
Maybe you can find a ROM that has a wakelock blocker baked in. Illusion for Verizon does.

I used wakelock terminator for kitkat as well. I just installed lollipop today and am actually pretty happy with the battery life so far, but the play services is still near the top. Would be nice to have even BETTER life by preventing these wakelocks. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. Hope someone can find solution! I'll keep looking around.
Heads up! http://www.droid-life.com/2015/02/10/xposed-developer-nears-release-for-android-5-0/
Fusion v5.0 has wakelock blocker.

Should I even bother using Greenify?

I used to use Greenify when I had my Xperia Z3, but I don't know if I should keep it on my 5T, and if it affects performance or not (ex. reopening apps draining more battery or apps taking more time to open).
I have the 8 GB model, so I don't have any RAM problem.
Lately I've decided to try not using any battery "optimizer". I'm currently on OOS B2 with Flash Kernel 3.0..1 and I can easily get nearly two days if battery life with a "normal" use with around 4hrs of screen on time and 1~1.5% per hour while on idle overnight.
So, I think that overall that's not worth messing with Greenify. IMHO
About performances, in theory having to relaunch apps that have been terminated by Greenify would have some inpact on that. Guess that would be quite low, being the device so fast!
My advice would be see how it goes as it is and then try installing Greenify and see if you notice any improvement.
My two cents.

Greenify only hibernate apps, not terminate.
I use Greenify for Facebook and Messenger as they drain a lot of power. I would simply check your battery stats if there are apps that use a lot of power without active usage. If so, Greenify then. If not, it probably doesn't make a huge difference.
Greenify is no matter what, a must download app for me.. Until V30+ and OP5T.. Didn't need it anymore, because I didn't notice a different between installed it and not..
This is an easy one. No.
Deep sleep and idle battery drain seem pretty good on the OP5T so far, I wouldn't bother.
I still use it, nothing related to performance but because I personally do not need some of my apps to run in background. I only use them when I open them so I can save a bit of battery by keeping them hibernated until the next use.

As long as I have good cell signal, I can routinely get 8hrs of SoT with the stock One plus kernel from OpenBeta2. I do use Greenify for the social media apps though. Greenify will basically tell you if it will help or not by displaying apps that it thinks will benefit from hibernating. Although, if you aren't rooted, it basically isn't worth installing.

I'm just asking because I use Amplify, Greenify and Android's built-in battery saver and Android OS still drains A LOT, and by a lot I mean that I can get 3 hours SoT with amoled themes on.

Wait, you get that on the 5T? If so, return it.

better then greenify

Guys as I have used Greenify app for a long time on my rooted phone and I know o havent rooted my op5t knowing Greenify won't work as good as on a rooted phone so I tried a different app named servicely this servicely app has stopped many background processes way better than Greenify without root
Really happy with this service me app without root what it if I root my phone and use full features of services earlier I used to have only 1.5 GB of RAM free on my op 5t 6gb variant but now I have nearly 2 to 2.5 GB free
Long story Short Service Lee is a better app as compared to Greenify

I do not understand how the app could work with your unrooted phone as the developer has clearly stated that "First of all make sure you're ROOTED (it won't work otherwise)." (see the description in Play Store). If you see any imporvements while using the app without root, then it must be placebo.

My phone is new and on stock trust ..me y would i lie
In Greenify we have to hibernate apps manually as they wake up frequently but in case servicely its not .it keep the background clean see i have an app called. Mochats for. Parrellel apps it used to run like mad on background but now not even single services in background 1000 star's to dev
Servicely has its own thread. Here's the last comment. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76488342&postcount=701
With Oreo, which is quite efficient on its own, apps like Greenify, Force Doze, Servicely, Amplify, and Naptime won't help your battery life much except for taming a rogue app (or two) that's constantly chewing up battery in the background. Ever since Marshmallow with its built-in doze feature, the need for these so-called battery saving apps has dropped significantly with each new android OS. Most, if any "savings" are placebo, and without root, you're dreaming, OP.

Reducing the battery drain

Hi,
My battery gives me around 6 hours of SoT and standby time around 16-18 hours with no gaming, using only internet browsing and social media for the most part.
From what I can see, the idle battery drain is not too bad if the phone is on doze, but the phone is not on doze most of the time during the day.
Also the active battery drain is high.
Any tips on making this better?
I'm on OOS Open Beta 8, on an Op7T with locked bootloader. The issue was same with the latest OOS stable.
Thanks!!

Run Naptime with Google Play Services dozed, run Servicely and block all apps you don't need, install Kirisakura Kernel from the OP7 Pro thread, disable sync when you don't need it, and set the max gpu freq to 585 MHz. You should be able to pull a maximum of 12hrs SOT... It obviously depends on what you're doing. I'm on OB8 as well.
Edit: I'm using Franco Kernel Manager as well, a bunch of the tweaks I suggested can easily be done through there, I highly recommend purchasing it!
Edit 2: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...el-kirisakura-1-0-0-op7-pro-aka-t3933916/amp/
Here's a link to Kirisakura Kernel, it needs a couple of magisk mods alongside it to work correctly, make sure to read the thread and install those as well.
Thank you for the advice, man but I'm not rooted..

Hey
Thank you so much for the advice.
I'm sorry I didn't mention it in the main thread that I'm not rooted. Do you have any ideas that don't require root or an unlocked bootloader?
By the way, I'll definitely try the root tweaks after my warranty expires, I had purchased FK Manager for my previous device.

Yeah, both naptime and servicely can be run without root.
Also, unlocking your bootloader doesn't void the warranty on OnePlus devices
