Bricked D855 - LED flashing red & blue - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, guys!
I stupidly bricked my D855 trying to install CM 13.
It was on Stock Lollipop.
Now it only flashes red and blue led. No system and no recovery.
This is exactly what I did:
1. root
2. install TWRP 3.0.0.0
3. reboot to Recovery mode
4. completely format all partitions
5. upload CM13.zip and Gapps.zip
6. try to flash CM13
Here I got an error about the Baseband version and the flash did not started.
It was version 20B I guess.
7. Search Google about the error and found an update to version 30B
8. Download the firmware.zip and upload to phone
9. Flash firmware.zip
10. reboot
This is where I got stuck.
I thought it would boot to recovery again, but it is completely dead.
When I power the phone on, I can see the LG logo with this error at the top left:
ERROR : boot certification verify
[660] ------------------
[660] Secure booting Error!
[660] Cause : Boot certification verify
[660] -----------------
And then the screen turns off and the led flashes red and blue.
If I try to push Power and Volume Down, I got the same thing.
If I try to push Power and Volume Up, the screen turns off, but the led don't flash.
If I push only Volume Down the phone reboots to the LG logo.
LG Flash Tool does not detect the phone.
I've searched on Google, YouTube and here on XDA and did not found anything.
It was stupid to format all partitions, I know.
Is there a way to recover the phone or I should buy another one?
Thank you very much for the help.

Hi, guys,
Download Mode still works.
Using LG Tool, the KDZ method did not work, but looks like the TOT+DLL mode works.
Unfortunately, I could not find the files for my specific model D855P.
The tool recognizes the phone at COM41, but the files for D855 are not suitable.
Anybody know where I can find the TOT and DLL?
Thank you!!!

It's a google search for your required firmware. Try it.
https://www.google.com.pk/search?q=...rome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8

Thank you very much for the help.
Unfortunately I did not found the correct TOT and DLL for D855P, but the KDZ file worked.
I changed the Mode option on LG Flash Tool from DIAG to Emergency and the flash did the trick.
Now I'll try to upgrade to stock 6.0, root, install TWRP and than CM13.
Thanks, guys.

Thanks, man!
The flash of the KDZ file fixed this error, but it's always good to have this fix.
At this very moment I am ready to root my new Android 6.0 Stock

Hey.
First of don't cry.
Now, you have TWRP right?
Grab an external SD card and load a ROM onto it through the PC (for GPad)
Put SD in GPad, factory reset device.
Now go to install, external sd, locate ROM, Swipe to flash.
After flash wipe dalvik and cache then Boot to ROM.
If above fails.
Download LG PC suite and install LG drivers to PC.
Plug LG GPad in PC
Run the LG Suite click Upgrade recovery.
Now it will download stock LG ROM and after download will flash automatically.
Will then reboot after flash.
Hopefully now is fixed.
If hangs at boot screen boot to stock recovery, (power off, power button + Volume down, when LG logo appears let go off all buttons, now press all three in. Will need two hands for it,)
Then get a factory reset prompt, click power button twice to perform a factory reset.

Lg Optimus G pro E988 Doesn't BOOT (maybe bricked)

Hi there, I recently bought an used unlocked LG G PRO E988 (made in korea) version. I rooted it. I tried to flash a custom rom but got stuck in boot loop with a security warning saying "SECURE booting ERROR!! Cause: boot certification verify" But while booting if I kept the volume up and power botton pressed it would give me "SECURE booting ERROR!! Device is unlocked so booting success" , However i could not get into the download mode no matter which ever key combination i tried. Finally pressing the volume up ,home key and power botton at the same time while putting back the battery on i ran into recovery mode and flashed a new rom "sphinx" and it was working fine, though I kept getting the "SECURE booting ERROR!! Device is unlocked so booting success" while booting up. I installed the Philz touch recovery while installing sphinx rom but day before yesterday I wanted to install the default cwm recovery and flash sphinx again with less apps,so from the recovery mode i wiped dev cache, wiped cache partion (and i think i wiped data/factory reset as well ) installed the sphinx rom again and rebooted from sphinx installation screen where i need to check a sqaure box to reboot. but my phone got stuck in boot loop again and with the same security warning "SECURE booting ERROR!! Cause: boot certification verify" but this time pressing the volume up and power button while connecting usb or putting back the battery didn't change the security warning to "SECURE booting ERROR!! Device is unlocked so booting success" neither could i get into my recovery mode. And i have always failed to log into download mode. I read almost all the threads about how to get into g pro download mode but never succeed. The only screen i was getting besides "hard reset" and "boot logo with security warning" was a screen with this message "Recovery mode,Using this mode, service center can back up and recover your data. Press and hold the POWER key more than 8 seconds to reboot and continue using phone." which would eventually take me to the boot loop again if i kept pressing the power button. sigh ! And at this point my phone was not being detected by my pc. I tried "[GUIDE] Optimus G Pro Full Hard Brick fix" by ricanares, but i couldnt get to download mode so the process failed for me After searching for hours and reading tutorials i found out about pdanet drivers and mtk droid tools. which finally detected my phone in pc only when the creen " Recovery mode,Using this mode, service center can back up and recover your data. Press and hold the POWER key more than 8 seconds to reboot and continue using phone." appears. Using mtk droid tools i tried to use a boot image (from an extracted .tot file)and recovery(from same .tot file) but i was getting an error saying no split boot image found.Tried using extracting a .tot file and sideloading the recovery.bin and boot.bin .Tried pushin and sideloading cusom recovery.apk files and all efforts in vein. For any files i send using sideload my phone shows an error "E:footer is wrong ; E: signature verification failed" Using mtk droid tools i could enter into a recovery mode but i dont think it is the cwm recovery mode. it has fewer options. I am so lost at this point ! I need some expert help ...
Things working
1. Boots into stock recovery using mtk tools.
2. Pc recognizes device as LG Android net phone
3.Mtk tools recognizes the device as LG E988
4.Can use adb sideload options to send files to phone in recovery mode (but phone outputs error as 1st attached image )
5.In recovery mode I can see and go into /cache folder using update from cache option.but theres nothing there
THINGS NOT WORKING
1.Doesnt Boot into recovery mode using physical buttons
2.Doesnt Boot into download mode
3.Cant get into fastboot mode with adb commands
4.Doesnt mount sd card .(tried formatting sd card with sdformatter)
5.Don't have a proper backup of my phone.
6.Can't extract downloaded .kdz files to get the boot.img and recovery.img files (tried using lg p970 rom converter, optimus L9 image extractor and lg extract)
HELP
1) Does anyone have extracted .kdz for e988 that has split boot image ?
2)How can i fix E:failed to mount /sdcard error.
3)How do i get to download mode in e988 ? is it possible that i deleted the mode ?

Have you tried:
1) remove battery
2) hold down both volume buttons and power button
3) insert power cord while keeping buttons held down
4) download mode is yours to cherish??
And for once you get into download mode: your KDZ! (or more here)
From there to go here and do more things. Things cannot be left undone. They hate that.
" SECURE booting ERROR!! Device is unlocked so booting success"
This is normal once you install a custom recovery. As long as your phone works, ignore.

Thanks for your response. Yes i tried that but didn't work. I tried with and without battery both. actually tried numerous times.Only the soft keys keep flashing and nothing else happen. But i will give it a shot again. Plus the secure booting error has changed to "SECURE booting ERROR!! Cause: boot certification verify"-- is it just because I am back to stock recovery ? If only i could get into download mode life would have been a lot easier !! (finger crossed)

Still boned? The LG Support Tool worked for me once, when I was in a similar situation way back last month when I first began smartphoning.
I was in this *exact* same situation after trying to flash my first ROMs and recovery stuff, but I don't remember how I got out of it. :| ACk!
Yupp still stuck . Will try again later tonigh. Didn't get a chance to sit with it the whole day. Hoping for the best !!

Oh! One thing to remember: always plug your USB cable directly into your computers motherboard USB ports, and avoid plugging into USB hub ports (like via a monitor or keyboard). If a desktop: that also means don't use the ports on your computer system. always use the rear ports that plug directly into your motherboard.
(A couple of times I was able to flash a stock TOT/KDZ via the USB hub on my monitor, but that is not a feat that is repeatable for me.)
This makes *all* the difference for me.

The Why: You can't flash that via the stock recovery. You need to use FreeGee to flash CWM or TWRP.
You can get your system into stock recovery: this is good! Does ADB recognize? If not check Windows drivers. If ADB recognizes it, and you can 'adb shell' into it, maybe I could walk you into rooting and installing a custom recovery via the shell?
1) If not already, have ADB at hand. It is your best friend.

Dude, you are so in the wrong program:
LG Flash Tool 1.8 -- this is what handles your TOTs.
Err, wait, you're on E988? Nevermind, no TOTs for you. I've only flashed KDZ a few times, and I don't recall off hand. :| I think it was this one that worked for me: here.

Yes I can actually get into shell using adb. and my device is recognized as an adb device in device manager. If u can walk me into rooting through adb that would be awesome. specially if i could install a cusom recovery. I spent a bit of time yesterday looking into the files in my phone through adb. tried to change the default.prop file , and push in a custom recovery, but no luck. and i could be wrong but I think for some reason my internal storage (/sdcard) is not being mounted.and same for my external sd card.
But i highly appreciate your response dear Thanks alot for looking into it.

device cannot start (code 10)

Hi, I have TWRP installed running latest cloudy and xposed, during uninstalling xposed my device is stuck at boot screen showing lg logo and I cannot go into recovery. however, i can go into download mode to bring it to stock (kdz or tot method) but the issue is the lg mtp device driver is giving an error "device cannot start (code 10)" which I believe is the issue as flashing kdz or tot doesnt go beyond 0%..
Any idea to overcome this? OR is there as way I can go into recovery as I already had a nandroid backup which i could reflash again.
Please help.
try this
Also u should be able to access to recovery even if u are bootloop in any case try this for the drivers
(Remove batt wait 3 sec put back ...hold power and down release it when u see lg logo then press quickly power and down again till u access to factory reset menu )
( from there u can access to ur custome recovery)

2. I tried flashing a KDZ File using LGUP (Software version: 20i). That doesn't work either. Once my phone enters download more I get an error "0x2000 CEFS::Can't Initialize"
3. I tried installing TWRP but I can't get into recovery mode / bootloader. When I enter "adb reboot bootloader" it will simply restart as usual into the OS, except that in the top left I see a message that reads "Secure Boot Error :1003"
(The reason I am installing TWRP is because I have a flashable zip file for 20i)
4. Since my phone is rooted, I was able to install flashify from the play store and when I try to flash twrp, it gives me a success message but upon reboot it simply reboots into the OS again, and has that message in the top left that reads "Secure Boot Error :1003".
5. The button combinations to get into recovery mode don't work either.
6. I am thinking trying to use a TOT and DLL file but I can't seem to find them anywhere (Can I get them from the kdz?)
Even if could get into fastboot that would be appreciated. I do not understand why I am unable to get into fastboot!
My Phone is the T-Mobile Version (H811) Currently Running Software H81120H (Lollipop)
Which key combination do you have tried exactly to get into recovery?

[Problem] Bootloop "Your Device is corrupt." Can't access recovery.

Hello,
Woke up to my phone turned off and upon turning it on showing the Your Device is corrupt error and after 30 seconds a reboot happens automatically. I remember I had a "low disk space" alert for a few days. I think there is absolutely no free disc space. I can't access recovery as when I hold down any buttons it turns on and quickly shuts down within 1 second upon the first screen showing.
Don't know what to do. I had many important files on it as well.
Any tips would be massively appreciated.
Why are we facing this issue?
+1
Any solution for this?
My device is also facing the same issue.

Factory reset is the only option!!
connect your phone to pc in normal charging mode and then try booting to recovery mode (power&vol+), you should be able to boot to recovery.
you will loose all your data.
Sadly this is clearly not working. There is quite a few posts on the nokia forum relating to this and the android 10 update bricking the device. But so far there is no solution and as well as that, the recovery mode is not available.
There appears to be some opportunists on youtube that are exploiting this to profit to fix the device, but that is no real help.
So I'm also in the club of a bricked Nokia (well its my mothers phone) that has remained stock the entire time. (it's a good thing I kept my Nexus 4!)

Try booting in fastboot .
Poweroff your phone .
Connect to pc .
Press (vol- & power) until the logo appears with a little fastboot written in left bottom.
If you are able to boot into fastboot then tell me I will give you the solution.

Yeah, it's refusing to go into fastboot, just keeps going in a cycle back to the corrupt error again

Hello i had the same problem , i recovered my 5.1 plus this worked for me maybe it works for you too.
First download sp flash tool and firmware file i have 5.1 plus world wide version and dowload the image PDA-209B-0-00WW-B06 for x5 use the image with cn not ww.

Run sp flash tool load the scatter file from the image, then unthick the box sutinfo, systeminfo_a & cda_a and hit dowload, conect youre phone holding volume up and down until it starts download.
Wait until it finish and the green box wit ok appears. Now the phone will start and after android one logo, the robot image and no comand will show up, click power button then quick on volume up and recovery menu shows.

You left the most important step .
Readback step in SP FlashTool.
Hey folks!
Let me share what worked for me when I solved this issue on a friend's phone.
This guide is dependent on you being able to boot into recovery mode - the screen with the green android robot laying down with a red exclamation mark on top of it.
We'll use recovery mode to sideload an OTA image to the device. Go to the Nokia OTA repository on telegram (search for Nokia OTA repository). Once there search for Nokia 5.1 plus and from the search results look for a full Android 10 OTA image with the April security patch (sorry, can't post links - should be 1.23 GB). Download that file and move it to the root directory on your SD card and then insert your SD card into your device.
Now, boot into recovery mode on your device (there's a key combination that will get you there but I'm not exactly sure what it is - try Power + Volume Up or Power + Volume Down). Once you get to the recovery mode screen, press Power and Volume Up to load the recovery menu. You'll see a bunch of options listed there - the one we're keen on is 'Install zip from SD Card'. Scroll down using the Volume Down button until you get to that option and then press the Power button to select it. You should then be able to select the zip file you downloaded earlier from your SD card. The process should then take a few minutes to complete. If all goes well, you can now reboot your device and Profit!
Good luck!

Readback is the most important step when you are flashing stock rom .. it backups all the partitions in a single file which you can use to restore if something goes wrong .. many users have faced issues because they didn't do the readback process . You can check out the guide for downgrade and there is nothing to search about .. if you can access recovery/fastboot then it's very easy to restore . If you can't you will have to flash the stock rom . You can check the guide in Guides thread. You just got lucky .if something went wrong you would have end up bricked up your device bad.
