Hold power and vol up buttons for a while (maybe 10 seconds or more) until the phone reboots. Once it reboots (screen black), immediately let go of those buttons, and hold the vol down rocker, don't let go of vol down until the bootloader screen comes up. If the HTC logo screen comes up again, just repeat the process, as you probably just started pressing vol down too late, or let go of it too early.
Once into bootloader, adb push a known good ROM to the phone (or put a ROM removable SD). Install the ROM in TWRP.
And let this be the lesson to NEVER wipe anything unless you know exactly what it means and what the result will be. Then double check and triple check what you have selected before confirming the wipe.
Those TWRP options are under "Advanced Wipe" for good reason. And the TWRP wipe screen also says for the default wipe that "Most of the time this is the only wipe that you need". Again, it says for for good reason.
Hi guys, months ago i rooted my HTC 526G with Kingoroot. I later tried to update the software over wifi. It updated but in restarting its now stuck in boot screen and sometimes goes into recovery by itself. Is there a way I can revive the firmware? Any help appreciated
HTC Desire 526G
I have problem like this ....cant fix it
Warning/Disclaimer: This will erase everything you have on the phones internal memory. (if you have play store set up right, you can just log back in afterwards and it will pull all your data/apps back, however if you don't, make sure to backup any contacts, data, ect that may be on the phones storage before attempting this) (then again, if you were already trying to root, you should have had everything backed up already anyway )
Charge the device to at least 50% (or an hour or two at least if the battery was completely dead)
Hold the Volume Down Button, Press power button, keep holding the volume down button
Phone should boot into HBOOT or Download mode,
use the volume up and down buttons to highlight Recovery Mode
press power button to select Recovery Mode
Phone will reboot with a red triangle icon, press all three buttons at the SAME time (vol up, vol down, power)
use the volume up and down buttons to highlight Clear Data (Factory Reset) press power button to select, let it finish clearing /data/ and /cache/
Once this has completed, Pull the battery out, let it sit for like 30 seconds without the battery
Put battery back in
hold power button for a while until it vibrates, release power button
let it sit at the htc boot screen for 10 minutes phone should eventually move to the verizon boot screen (if it goes over 10 minutes on the htc screen, try procedure again)
Post here if you have any trouble.
Still have problems

i've done the procedure but unluckly i'm still having this problem, did someone fix the loop with this method? should i just wait for custom roms? :crying:
I had it happen to me after trying to root with just about every tool out there, mine would boot up but wouldn't go past the htc boot screen white background green htc. After I cleared the data a few times (at least 3) it came back up, try the procedure more than once. Also be patient and wait the full 10 minutes for it to come back up, sometimes it can be slow to load for the first time after this kind of wipe.

Try to root with "PhilZ Recovery by Ajit", search on google, i don't remember where i have download it, but it is an .exe file.
After you install it on your computer, you select USB debugging, and connect your phone to the computer, the rest of the process is auto.
After the installation process, the phone will autoreboot in recovery, here you will select ---> Advanced Function---> RE-root System (SuperSU).
After that, reboot, and install SuperSU from GooglePlay.
Success.
Root without boot loop (you may want to wipe Dalvid Cache before reboot after selecting root).
I hope this works for you ( it worked for me HTC desire 526g ).
Have a nice day.
IF you dont find the Philz, contact me, i wil send it to you.
Philz Recovery by ajit is designed for devices using the Mediatek processor; Sadly our 526 (no g, no +) uses a qualcomm processor. I do not recommend anyone to attempt to use "Philz recovery by Ajit" to attempt to root their HTC 526 as at best it will fail and at worse it will flash a non-compatible recovery and turn your device into a hard-brick.

My phone was also rooted using kingroot. I received an OTA update and I downloaded it. Once the download was complete, the phone restarted and got bootlooped. Occasionally, it goes into recovery. I tried factory resetting it several times as mentioned in the solution. But each time I turn the phone ON again after factory reset, it is looping. Its not stuck at the boot logo. Instead it reboots automatically and in some cases to recovery. So the wait-for-10-mins thing is not working for me.
1. I received a stock ROM from the Russian section of XDA. Will flashing that ROM using the stock recovery using "install update from SD card" help me recover my phone from bootloop?
2. Will flashing the stock ROM unroot the phone? Presently, even after the factory resetting, "check the software partition" option in recovery returns a message "error - system has root". So I was hoping that unroofing might fix the problem. Will it?
3. If the above method fails, is there any other method? Like flashing a custom recovery or flashing a custom ROM etc?
Please help me fix the phone. Thanks in advance.
I am experiencing the same problem and have tried everything to avail, will this devise ever work again its still stuck with a white screen and green HTC

Hey negomo. I just fixed the phone yesterday. It seems that installing an OTA update while the phone is rooted can result in a bootloop or bricking(as in my case). I fixed this issue by flashing a stock ROM of the HTC 526g which I got from another Russian forum in XDA. Anyway I am posting the link of that stock ROM here.
( I am not allowed to post link. So please delete the spaces to get the actual link)
h t t p s :// yadi.sk/ d/gNKBahgZiwGmo
Once you download it do the following procedure
1. Copy it to an SD card and insert the card in your phone.
2. Press power button+volume up key button to enter HBOOT menu (while turning on the phone, press power and vol up button instead of power button alone)
3. Choose recovery option and press volume down to enter
4. Press power button once to enter recovery
5. Choose "install update from SD card"
6. Wait till it finishes installation
7. Wipe cache
8. Reboot phone
PS: I had already done a factory reset from recovery menu. I don't know if that had helped.
This will bring your phone back to life. Give around 10 mins for the first boot.
I hope I was able to help you.
Hit thanks if I did.

thx you are pro ??my problem solved ??
Hi! So I have been rolling with the marshmellow version of RR for quite some time and figured I was due for an upgrade. I went to update to the Nougat version, and did everything correctly, firmware, wipe, rom, then gapps. Much to my dismay I was greeted with a screen prompting me for my pattern to start android, I thought this a bit odd but went with it and my pattern did not work. I tried again thinking I may have done it wrong but nothing worked. I didnt think much of it and went to flash again to make sure I did it right, but my recovery never booted. Afterwards I got an error that was very quick and I was not able to read. It came just after the "your phones bootlader has been unlocked" etc. It was a very similar screen as well. After this, I was not able to boot up the phone at all. Once I was able to power up the phone but it simply gave me the same error and now its not starting at all. Any help would be much appriciated and thank you if you made it through this post.
First of all, you need to flash the very latest version of TWRP. If you are suffering from encryption issues and cannot decrypt TWRP, you will need to press back on the TWRP screen, and press wipe -> Format data
You will lose all your data and will be unencrypted. Make sure you have the latest TWRP, as this is vital for Nougat.

Thank you for the help, but I cannot even get into my device to update TWRP.
Try holding the power button for a minute, or try volume down + power to get into the bootloader.

Already did, it doesnt work. Black screen.
Im facing the same problem too. Cant even get adb to work ?
If you can still get into your bootloader, use fastboot commands to flash the latest TWRP.
Either hold Vol Up + Power when you phone is off, or turn it on normally and click any volume button during the "bootloader unlocked" warning screen to access the boot menu.
If you can't access the bootloader at all, then I believe the unbrick guide is your only option.
I can get to the bootloader, but when i flash recovery, it just restarts again and again.
Wipe the recovery partition first before you flash the new one.
Also, what version of TWRP are you using?
Yeah I will look into brick guides. Also going to try and let my phone charge to see if that may help. As far as I can tell it isnt charging but I might as well try.
Thank you for all the help guys, eventually what worked for me was indeed an unbrick guide. I will now be sure to read up entirely on what exactly I need to upgrade to fix this issue. For any wondering https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/guide-mega-unbrick-guide-for-a-hard-bricked-oneplus-3.452634/ This was the guide I used to fix my phone.
So I was trying to install TWRP on my phone. I have a Mac and was looking at some online guide. I had a pin set-up, and this is what I did:
1. Installed ADB and fast boot
2. Unlocked the boot loader on the phone
3. Check the terminal commands that the device is connected correctly
4. Had the ABD and TWRP img files on the phone.
5. Tried to fast boot TWRP.
What is happening now is that I'm stuck on a boot loop of a TWRP screen, the screen if flashing and won't load. I'm guessing to let the battery die out over night
I was looking at a few threads and some say that I should flash the factory image. Everyone is saying flash the stock file... However, I can't even get the phone to turn off or go back into bootload mode for my computer to recognize the phone.
Any tips?
Hold volume down and the power button down. Keep it held down might take sometime but you should get to the loader. boot twrpRC1 flash rc2 after getting in twrp. You could also start fresh by fishing factory once you get back to bootloader
Long press power button to shut it off
or press power button and vol down together and will take you to fatsboot mode and from there you can use volume button to seltect bootloader or recovery
I don't do pin's so I'm not familiar with the hangups involved with those and TWRP.
But I guess the first thing I'd do is remove the pin lock.
Then power down phone.
Wait 30 seconds!!!!!
Press power + volume down until phone powers on, then let go.
Should boot right into bootloader.
Fastboot boot twrp.
Install TWRP from the fastbooted TWRP.
I'm not familiar with the Mac process but on a PC we need to fastboot into TWRP from an image file on our computer first, and then flash the file on the phone.
I recommend keeping a copy of the boot signer on your device, flashing this fixes most of these types of issues I have found, especially with new rom upgrades etc.
Did you let the phone fully boot into the system after unlocking the bootloader, or did you immediately try and boot twrp?
I've had this problem twice before, both after a fastboot unlock, and I had to let it fully boot into the system before proceeding

Hey I think that was it. I immediately tried to boot twrp without letting the system fully boot.
Thanks you all for the support. Go XDA!
The first question everyone should be asking is if OP was on the O Beta previously.. If that is the case Op needs to flash the factory image in both slots.
Put phone into the bootloader
Flash all bat
Put phone into the bootloader
fastboot --set-active=other
fastboot reboot bootloader
flash all bat
fastboot boot twrp
Even if OP wasnt on the O beta, this should fix the issue.
After successfully flashing Oreo, I am seeing the same flashing/looping TWRP (twrp-3.0.2-0-RC1).
Long press of Pwr restarted the phone.
Rinsed & repeat a few times.
Any thoughts to flash TWRP (temporarily)?

So, I was on /e/ os, and I wanted to switch to lineageos, so I downloaded the zip, flashed TWRP (as recovery) went into it, flashed los, rebooted, got to boot screen, and right as it was about to go into setup, it turned off. I tried again, same thing, etc etc. I tried to go into fastboot and recovery, nothing. It's stuck at the Recovery mode... loading... then it has purple led at the top. it is the canadian h812 version.

Hi. I don't know exactly what the problem is and how to solve it. I would wait for an answer steadfasterX, or someone who knows the exact answer.
I would try to do this, but as I wrote above, I do not know if it will help or not:
Factory reset hardware key combo (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/unlock-unofficial-g4-unlock-any-lg-g4-device-with-usu.3760451/)
As written above the regular key combo to get into the LG factory reset screen changes a bit:
power off device
disconnect any usb cable from the device
press volume UP + power button and KEEP THEM BOTH pressed until you see the LG logo the first time! THEN you have to immediately release the power button (ONLY that) and press and keep holding the power button directly again! Keep them pressed until you see the white LG factory reset screen
After that, I would try to go into the recovery, to format and restore or reflash.
Hope this helps. But it is better to wait for the answer of the knowledgeable. Good luck!

It worked... I hope the factory reset actually fixes it. (by it worked I mean I got into it)
Nope. Didn't work. It freezes up and says 'Secure booting error :1003' MODIFIED!' with a purpleish pinkish led.
Boot in fastboot and execute:
fastboot format userdata
(this will erase all internal data, pics, apps etc)
Then let it boot.
