Hi guys, months ago i rooted my HTC 526G with Kingoroot. I later tried to update the software over wifi. It updated but in restarting its now stuck in boot screen and sometimes goes into recovery by itself. Is there a way I can revive the firmware? Any help appreciated
HTC Desire 526G
I have problem like this ....cant fix it
Warning/Disclaimer: This will erase everything you have on the phones internal memory. (if you have play store set up right, you can just log back in afterwards and it will pull all your data/apps back, however if you don't, make sure to backup any contacts, data, ect that may be on the phones storage before attempting this) (then again, if you were already trying to root, you should have had everything backed up already anyway )
Charge the device to at least 50% (or an hour or two at least if the battery was completely dead)
Hold the Volume Down Button, Press power button, keep holding the volume down button
Phone should boot into HBOOT or Download mode,
use the volume up and down buttons to highlight Recovery Mode
press power button to select Recovery Mode
Phone will reboot with a red triangle icon, press all three buttons at the SAME time (vol up, vol down, power)
use the volume up and down buttons to highlight Clear Data (Factory Reset) press power button to select, let it finish clearing /data/ and /cache/
Once this has completed, Pull the battery out, let it sit for like 30 seconds without the battery
Put battery back in
hold power button for a while until it vibrates, release power button
let it sit at the htc boot screen for 10 minutes phone should eventually move to the verizon boot screen (if it goes over 10 minutes on the htc screen, try procedure again)
Post here if you have any trouble.
Still have problems

i've done the procedure but unluckly i'm still having this problem, did someone fix the loop with this method? should i just wait for custom roms? :crying:
I had it happen to me after trying to root with just about every tool out there, mine would boot up but wouldn't go past the htc boot screen white background green htc. After I cleared the data a few times (at least 3) it came back up, try the procedure more than once. Also be patient and wait the full 10 minutes for it to come back up, sometimes it can be slow to load for the first time after this kind of wipe.

Try to root with "PhilZ Recovery by Ajit", search on google, i don't remember where i have download it, but it is an .exe file.
After you install it on your computer, you select USB debugging, and connect your phone to the computer, the rest of the process is auto.
After the installation process, the phone will autoreboot in recovery, here you will select ---> Advanced Function---> RE-root System (SuperSU).
After that, reboot, and install SuperSU from GooglePlay.
Success.
Root without boot loop (you may want to wipe Dalvid Cache before reboot after selecting root).
I hope this works for you ( it worked for me HTC desire 526g ).
Have a nice day.
IF you dont find the Philz, contact me, i wil send it to you.
Philz Recovery by ajit is designed for devices using the Mediatek processor; Sadly our 526 (no g, no +) uses a qualcomm processor. I do not recommend anyone to attempt to use "Philz recovery by Ajit" to attempt to root their HTC 526 as at best it will fail and at worse it will flash a non-compatible recovery and turn your device into a hard-brick.

My phone was also rooted using kingroot. I received an OTA update and I downloaded it. Once the download was complete, the phone restarted and got bootlooped. Occasionally, it goes into recovery. I tried factory resetting it several times as mentioned in the solution. But each time I turn the phone ON again after factory reset, it is looping. Its not stuck at the boot logo. Instead it reboots automatically and in some cases to recovery. So the wait-for-10-mins thing is not working for me.
1. I received a stock ROM from the Russian section of XDA. Will flashing that ROM using the stock recovery using "install update from SD card" help me recover my phone from bootloop?
2. Will flashing the stock ROM unroot the phone? Presently, even after the factory resetting, "check the software partition" option in recovery returns a message "error - system has root". So I was hoping that unroofing might fix the problem. Will it?
3. If the above method fails, is there any other method? Like flashing a custom recovery or flashing a custom ROM etc?
Please help me fix the phone. Thanks in advance.
I am experiencing the same problem and have tried everything to avail, will this devise ever work again its still stuck with a white screen and green HTC

Hey negomo. I just fixed the phone yesterday. It seems that installing an OTA update while the phone is rooted can result in a bootloop or bricking(as in my case). I fixed this issue by flashing a stock ROM of the HTC 526g which I got from another Russian forum in XDA. Anyway I am posting the link of that stock ROM here.
( I am not allowed to post link. So please delete the spaces to get the actual link)
h t t p s :// yadi.sk/ d/gNKBahgZiwGmo
Once you download it do the following procedure
1. Copy it to an SD card and insert the card in your phone.
2. Press power button+volume up key button to enter HBOOT menu (while turning on the phone, press power and vol up button instead of power button alone)
3. Choose recovery option and press volume down to enter
4. Press power button once to enter recovery
5. Choose "install update from SD card"
6. Wait till it finishes installation
7. Wipe cache
8. Reboot phone
PS: I had already done a factory reset from recovery menu. I don't know if that had helped.
This will bring your phone back to life. Give around 10 mins for the first boot.
I hope I was able to help you.
Hit thanks if I did.

Hi,
I rooted my DHD today and tried to flash the CyanogenMod-7 for Desire HD & Inspire. It seemed to work but now keeps re-booting every couple of seconds. It won't actually stay on long enough to put another ROM on. Can anyone help? This is the first time I've done something like this and it seemed to be going so well!
Thanks!
Pull the battery for about 10 seconds. Then hold the vol- button down and power your device on. Now you should see a white screen with some text on it. Navigate to recovery and press the power button. Now it should boot into recovery.
In the recovery choose wipe data/factory reset ald let it finish. Once its finished choose wipe cache partition.
Then go to install .zip from sd and then choose zip from sd. Now search for your rom and reinstall it
Tapatalked with Tapatalk from my Desire HD using Tapatalk.
This is common. Simply wait for it to boot and power off or use the power button to select reboot. You only have to do it once.
The instructions for installing CM7 all say to install ROM then reboot after first complete start up. Shouldn't need to reinstall anything.
Having been left alone for a few hours it seems to have sorted itself out. Thanks! I just wasn't expecting it to spend quite so long re-booting.
I guess you have enabled wi-fi just after flash cm7. Seems like there is a bug or whatever, all you need is re-boot device after first boot.
And about the re-boot loop, just remove battery to turn off you device then turn it on, enter recovery and flash cm7 again WITHOUT do wipe operation. OK, In this time remember to re-boot after first boot.
I got a bit trigger happy and tried to flash Android Revolution HD 3.3. I did a full wipe from ClockworkMod Recovery and tried to install the zip, exactly like I did for the previous ROM. That kept aborting the installation so I mounted the phone and re-downloaded and copied it onto the SD card again. Same problem. I then tried to re-install cm7 and that also kept aborting.
I now have the message "Back menu button disabled" and if I use the power button to select anything it goes straight to a white triangle with an explanation and the Droid, which I think is stock recovery? I'm getting there from what I think is Clockwork though. Is this recoverable or have I managed to brick it?
I had a similar issue a few days ago - it turned out that the battery stats were screwed up so a fix for me was to boot into recovery and then wiping the battery stats.
Everything was fine after that.
How do I do that? I don't want to reboot out of Clockwork as I'm not 100% sure I actually have a ROM at the moment.
Can boot into menu. Highlight recovery. Press power button. Powers down, not completely though. Screen stays on slightly. When waiting 5 minutes and press power button boots into loop again.

Going to leave battery out for the night as read in other posts. Fixes the problem of not totally shutting down for some. Thanks.
Well leaving battery out didn't help. Continuous boot loop. Put on charger after turning off orange light came on and didn't go to green after 10 hours. Restarted when I got home and boot loop again. Had CoreDroid ROM installed. Working fine than tried to load Kalagas Mixed Theme and that is where I am now. Looping.
Even a blind squirrel will find a nut now and then. During HTC Hboot menu, noticed it was looking for PD98IMG zip. So I shut phone down. Inserted card with it on it and it restored to original firmware. PHEW. Hope this might help someone else.
I have bricked my Motorola Defy.
I have tried flashing a new ROM using RSD Lite (following this guide). It says 'complete' but my phone will not turn on. Sometimes it will just show the Moto boot logo but never fully boot up. I can only open the boot menu.
The ROMs I have tried flashing can be found here (All UK 2.1 at the top of the page).
Background - I got into this mess by attempting to flash the Gingerbread UI ROM (here).
Does anyone have any ideas? I would really appreciated any suggestions.
Thank you.
Probably you have flashed a firmware which cannot be downgraded to eclair. Try to get again in the bootloader and flash a froyo build (the official french one, for instance).
Hope this helps
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
but supposedly it is still an éclair ROM so it shouldn't be the reason... best thing would be to flash an original 2.1 rom, I'm sure you can find one on the development section. Make sure to have a fully charged battery though - charge it on someone else's phone, for example.
It's most likely a problem with cache. Power your phone with Volume Down holded, when in recovery press Volume Up + Down, clear data/factory reset, clear cache.

Have you tried one of the 2.51 version roms?

Just an update...
All ROMS I have tried have installed OK through RSD Lite. The result is always 'Finished' or 'PASS'. But then when I try to turn my phone on, it never boots up.
I really appreciate the replies so far. If anyone has any further ideas, I would love to hear them.
Thank you.
UPDATE
I have just flashed the latest froyo leaked ROM as suggested around the net. Slight progress, the phone now boots to the moto boot logo but no further?
Does anyone have any ideas from here?
Thank you.
you do know that after flashing an sbf it takes a very LONG time to boot the first time! I just hope you are not giving up after a a couple minutes of M logo and pulling the battery or something it literally takes like 5 minutes.
You said you are still able to enter bootmenu? That is not possible after flashing an sbf, as it wipes the bootmenu away! Are you talking about bootloader?
Pull the battery and immediately put it back in while holding vol down. If the phone does not turn on just by inserting the battery then continue to hold vol down and press the power button for about 3 seconds, do not let go of vol down. Continue holding vol down until stock recovery appears.
Once you're in stock recovery press vol up AND vol down at the SAME TIME. Now use the volume toggle to select wipe date/factory reset, use the power button to make your selection, then wipe cache partition. Reboot
Walk away for like 5-10 minutes and check back on it.. Theres no reason it shouldn't work

Hey,
I have just got back from dropping of the phone with T-Mobile - Damm!!!!!!!
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I must have talking about the bootloader. Not the menu. I will head back to the shop in the morning and collect it back off them. Hopefully as it is a Saturday they have not sent it off?
Sooooo frustrating!!!!!!!!
I will update you when I have got it back and tested the above.
Thanks again,
Chris.
LOL I know what you mean... I had instant heart failure the first time I was stuck in a bootloop!!! Thought I wasted $400
I just panicked and gave up.. damm! Loads of people have said that its almost impossible to brick a defy. Fingers crosses thats true!! Lol
First, sorry for my english.
I have a similar problem. I flashed the official french froyo.
First it runs good. But today, two days later, the defy reseted automaticaly.
Several times.
Then I did a wipe. At the end the defy reseted automaticaly and stopped at the motorola logo. I flashed again. At the end of the flash, when RSD boots the defy, it stopped at the logo again. After...it must have been 15 minutes I pulled the battery and tried to get into the bootloader for a wipe.
But I can't enter the bootloader (vol up + power). The motorola logo appears and nothing happens. The last time I waited over 30 minutes.
OK, I have my phone back from T-Mobile...here it goes!!! (fingers crossed).
EDIT
Battery is out - will re-charge with the USB cable trick..

Hey, I am still have issues...
I have charged it up but cannot access recovery. I have tried taking out the battery and putting it back in while holding vol down but no luck. I have also tried holding the power button as well like you said.
I am going to leave it charging even longer to see if that helps.
I've recently got the JB update so I installed it, or atleast tried. Because when I try to turn on my phone again it gets stuck on the HTC logo (White screen).
I think somehow my battery went down during the installation and now I can't access my phone anymore.
It's a clean phone, no costum ROM and I haven't rooted it in any way.
Is there a way to fix my problem? (Preferably withour rooting it.)
I tried holding the power and volume down buttons and then selecting recovery but that doesn't work as I just end up getting stuck on the black screen with the Red triangle.

Try going into HBOOT
Hold down Power button & volume down buttons together when the phone is switched off. This will take you into HBOOT.
Select Recovery using the volume down button and press power to select it.
Hopefully it is able to recover and re-flash the firmware.

if it's an unrooted phone, HTC have been very good at fixing phones bricked during OTA in my experience (2 day turnaround)
When you see the phone with the red triangle before you want to enter the recovery press vol - and the power button.....or at least the vol - button. Can't recreate it as i am on a custom recovery. You will bypass the red triangle and will enter the recovery. Maybe a cache wipe wil do, or a factory reset !

I've tried the factory reset be just like the normal boot it gets stuck on the HTC logo.
Clearing the cache might work but doesn't your phone needs to be rooted for that?

I cant recall if wiping cache is an option in the stock recovery !?
One can erase cache using 'fastboot erase cache' after getting the phone to restart in fastboot mode. See here and go to the 'Try this first' section. Hope this helps.

Hold power and vol up buttons for a while (maybe 10 seconds or more) until the phone reboots. Once it reboots (screen black), immediately let go of those buttons, and hold the vol down rocker, don't let go of vol down until the bootloader screen comes up. If the HTC logo screen comes up again, just repeat the process, as you probably just started pressing vol down too late, or let go of it too early.
Once into bootloader, adb push a known good ROM to the phone (or put a ROM removable SD). Install the ROM in TWRP.
And let this be the lesson to NEVER wipe anything unless you know exactly what it means and what the result will be. Then double check and triple check what you have selected before confirming the wipe.
Those TWRP options are under "Advanced Wipe" for good reason. And the TWRP wipe screen also says for the default wipe that "Most of the time this is the only wipe that you need". Again, it says for for good reason.
Hi,
I have a bootloop issue (I was using LOS official and it crashed when I answered a call) and when I try booting in recovery mode it just starts normally.
I do the Power + Vol down until I see the LG logo then release both for a short time and hold them again but it starts the LOS bootanimation..
What I am doing wrong ?

The G4 has a really stupid way of entering the recovery. I couldn't get in for a while too. Try again making sure you are actually pressing the buttons together at the same time. That means having just one click. They have to be clicked down at the exact same time.
Also, the instructions you've seen (first Google result) may not be the best. This is what I do WITH a custom recovery (TWRP).
1. Power off completely
2. Holding power and volume down at the exact same time until the lg logo appears.
3. Continue holding the volume down button but release the power button for a second.
4. Press and hold power and volume down again.
5. When asked if you want to wipe the device, select yes. This won't wipe the device but will take you to TWRP (if you installed it). Otherwise, it wipes the device.

I think mine is the genuine bootloop issue.

Ok after a few tries I managed to do it this way
Hi guys, today I've managed to brick my G4 so it doesnt boot neither to recovery nor fastboot nor download mode. It just loops the LG logo as you can see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gm0dh6bLp4
Any ideas how to recover?
Thank you

If you don't remember doing anything that might have caused this, then it may be the LG G4 bootloop bug.
I'd put the phone in a zip lock back, in the freezer overnight and then back up all my data as quickly as possible. You're phone may be dead.

I'm sure I've bricked it while flashing LOS (regular dirty flash of new weekly like i do nearly every week), this time just went something wrong...
As far as I can tell from some YT videos my reboot pattern is different from regular G4 bootloop
Thx for your replies, I managed to revive my phone after whole day of tinkering. Had to overcome some issues so I've posted the solution: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73539738&postcount=1

Hmm, wait, ok. I did it finally, you just need to press them simultaneously and then when LG logo appears just release the power button for literally 1 second and then press and continue to hold both of buttons. That's it.

This actually worked!!!!....The 1 Second is crucial in the process, I did it on my first try after reading post
I did the procedure but it went to a page that said clear your phone or not! Just it, and there is no option to clean cache partition or any other
