I have been running marshmallow based custom roms and have made their nandroid backups in twrp. But after one bad incident(unresponsive screen) i gave it to service centre and landed up with stock kitkat..now i have a rooted stock kitkat with twrp recovery.. my question is ..can i just restore the marshmallow backup with twrp OR do i have to upgrade to stock marshmallow first.?
edit: nevermind..restored backup directly..

Hello,
I used clockwordmod to backup my ROM
my question is, if I upgraded to Android 4.3, would it be possible to downgrade to my original stock ROM (4.1.2) using the restore mode in CWM?
thanks
Once my device has been rooted and I installed any custom rom and need to go back to stock for future OTA .
I have a Nandroid backup done with TWRP
Could I restore my Nandroid backup and flash stock recovery and I'm all set for any future OTA ?
Hi,
So I bought an LG G3 a few weeks ago, rooted it and first flashed TWRP 2.8 to back up the stock ROM then flashed Cloudy G3 V1.2 this is the ROM I'm using now. I really wanna try Lollipop and already downloaded AndroidNow HD 7.0. Now my question is how should I flash this to make sure that it **** happens I'll be able to go back to my stock backup. As far as I know my version of TWRP does not back up the modem partition and since lollipop updates it as well.
What I was thinking is going back to stock rom from the back up, updating TWRP to the one that is able to backup the modem partition and then create a new backup and then flash AndroidNow HD 7.0. Is that necessary? Or am I good with the old backup?
I am running stock right now (JB 4.2.2) and I am planning to flash a Lollipop ROM (AICP 10). If I create a backup (for my stock ROM) at TWRP and did the needed measures to flash the Lollipop ROM and was successful however I want to return to stock ROM. Do I just have to factory reset and restore my stock ROM backup to have a stock ROM again? Sorry for this noob question.
Heeeeelp!
Any idea if that would work?
Just use odin to flash any stock rom
So backup-ing in TWRP before I flash Lollipop from my current rom [Stock JB 4.2.2] is useless?
You can also use your backup from TWRP.
But It will then show that it has been modified, could be a problem with the warranty.
If you want to go back completely for warranty then odin is the way to go
Thank you! I actually don't care about warranty since mine is overdue already. All I wanted to know was if I will be able to go back to JB 4.2.2 with that backup in case I have problems with Lollipop.
Hi Folks,
Saw many users struggling to restore their phone after messing up with their phone either during flashing any custom ROM, custom recovery or even flashing stock update via Firmware finder or flashing any unapproved stock firmware via DLOAD method and event after trying various methods of reviving the phone unable to do so and they can not flash the custom ROMs as well, sometime due to FRP locked etc or various unknown reasons.
Please share your TWRP backup for such users so that they will be bale to restore their phone and use it rather throwing it in frustration. It could be either TWRP backup for stock MM, Stock Nougat, Custom MM or custom Nougat
Please do not forget to mention the model number and the backup type as TWRP backup for stock MM, Stock Nougat, Custom MM or custom Nougat so that user download and restore only the backup they need rather messing it up again.
It can be system+boot or system+boot+vendor backup.
Example- BLN-AL10 Stock B375 Nougat
Thanks and happy flashing.
