I just testing the app, and I have to say: Cool, man, this is a realy cool. Now I can listening a music from YT with minimal battery consumption, because screen is off.
In my opinion, and for my taste, your app interface is nicer but official app.
I don't want to be a saucy, just asking:
-Can you implement a feature, when watching video in app (portrait mode, not full screen) and press back to return on search results, video continue playing in small window in bottom right corner? You know, as an official YT app.
-Can you implement a feature music continue to play when exit on home button?
Thanks.

Actually i'm not the developer of this app i credit the OP above.
And about your questions really i have asked before about the background feature and i use the "awesome pop-up" app to floating window of video and do other things in my phone.
Another thing, try this new mod Youtube here with new YT sources and all the features you asking for it, if you don't want to face any problem with it use the xposed version.
(For xposed version scroll down and click on xposed icon, you will have two downloads app one for the mod YT and other apk for module in xposed)

Downloading now...
After using it for a few mins... Cool new little app, but ide rather stick to using HTC streaming media/internet explorer combo.
Cons:
-Cant clear/erase any text in input boxes by hitting the back button, it will end up being used like a normal back button command and return you to previous programs/home screen. Very annoying, you will have to close the program and reopen it to reuse the search field.
-No option to sign into your own YouTube account like you can on m.youtube.com. I like being able to go to my favorites and my videos. You cant do this with this application.
Pros:
-Very fast and simple layout.
-The video buffers extremely fast and the video/sound quality is superior to HTC Streaming Media Player.
-Seems to be stable.

Load a video then press up, mine had no sound til I pushed up on the D-Pad and got the players slid bar.
Not a bad app, but too limited, SvB4EvA review is spot on

Is there an updated version of the youtube app (or a mod) that allows you to play videos in the background and/or with the screen off? A search turns up results from 2009. Thanks

I couldn't find the stock youtube app modded. But in the market they have an app called Nextvid its free and lets you make playlist and works with screen off! Hope that helps.
Hi everybody,
I'm looking for a ROM for the G Pad (v500) with multitasking support. I need it mostly to watch lessons whilst reading some material (mostly pdfs). I know the stock rom has a floating video player, but it doesn't play most video formats.
So far I've tested Omni 4.4 w/ multi-window, but it's a little buggy with MXPlayer in Splitview and when I'm interacting with one app (Adobe Reader, for example), it freezes the other (MXPlayer, for example).
It doesn't matter if the multitasking is done via splitview or floating windows. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

You can have mxplayer run in the background (not sure if video images get rendered or not)
I remember seeing in the multiwindoe code patch about setting which side of window is active... I might patch that section (could lead to lower battery life).
Have you seen other implementations that work with both splitscrrens active, like Samsung's split view? I've tried xposed+xfloatingwindows, same "bug"
Alternative is an app like BsPlayer, which actually does its own pop-out to floating window feature, like the Facebook chat heads
Didn't know about this BSPlayer feature. I'm gona give it a whirl. Thanks!

I'd rather try to get omni's splitscreen feature polished, since it will work across more apps instead of just specific apps(like samsung's splitview)
I tried many 3D Movie player apps before landing on VRTV - I was pretty content.
Just yesterday, the author added Daydream support, which lets the app appear in your Daydream library (nice) and supports Controller actions/clicks to control the app (file selection, player controls, volume +/-, zoom, re-center, 3D mode, etc.).
v3.2 is still in beta, but seems pretty well baked.
:good:
Is this it?

What type of TV does it let you get?
CZ, yes, that's the app.
Not sure about your second question.
So you can use this to watch 2D movies too?

Yes, you can select 2D format. Works well if that's what you're playing

Thanks for this! My Pixel XL and Daydream VR are on their way, so I bought the app and joined the beta program. Can't wait to try it!
Just a note:
Many of my 3D titles are in MKV format. The app does not natively support the audio track on this format. You'll need to install a codec which is simple enough. The author is taking the conservtive approach not to bundle this codec with his app.
1. Download the APK for VLC for Android, version 1.7.5 and unzip/winrar it.
http://get.videolan.org/vlc-android/1.7.5/VLC-Android-1.7.5-ARMv7.apk
2. Copy the file "lib/armeabi-v7a/libvlcjni.so" to your phone
3. Start VRTV and select "Install codec library" from the top right menu, locate libvlcjni.so and select it.
4. Restart VRTV, AC3/DTS audio should work

Worked great, thanks! Just have to play around with the settings some more and get used to the interface. Wish that Android could understand exfat so I could just leave a bunch of my bigger movies on my flash drive for when I want to watch them. Don't really want to fill up my internal storage with them.

Hi there,
How can I record the music I am listening to while recording video? I want to capture the moment with the music I listen to . It always stops the music playback when a video starts recording. I use the integrated camera app. Stock Android 8, rooted.
Thanks everyone.
Don't think you can, but use the video editor afterwards to add that same track, only takes a few seconds
That is not working as I need tune perfect recording of the exact moment the track is played. I cannot post that.
Which app do I need or which firmware allows that simple function? I remember my old phones being able to do that.

No firmware will allow it, you'll have to look for an app on the play store
Personally I would just edit the audio/video on PC
At least you could edit the mp3 in Audacity on PC to have it start at the perfect place, then use the video editor on Android to add that mp3
Spotify + Instagram?
You can install the "Sound Assistant" from the Galaxy Store and then enable the Dual-App-Sound (in your case, the "sound"-app). Then you can start recording with the camera, and the phone keeps playing the audio, but the Quality won't be the best, because it's recording the sound from the microphone and not internal.
Can confirm
Can confirm. Dual app sound in Sound Assistant and select your camera as the second app will allow you to play music while recording a video. I also suggest (if applicable) making sure that your setting for your volume control in your camera settings are set to system control and not take pic or start video.
Spotify + Instagram works perfectly!
