Last KLD upgrade problems - MTCB Android Head Units Q&A

My Autopumpkin KLD/RK3066 unit recently started giving me the "com.google.process.gapp has stopped" message, so I thought it was time to step it up and get one of the latest ROM's here. Anyways, I started at:
MCU
MTCB0KLD-V2.30
Jan 22, 2015 13:50
Model
S07
Kernel 3.0.361
Build rk3066-eng4.4.4.23012015.1544
...and I went to KLD 2.78/latest update.img date 12/31/2015 called update_4_4_4_FUSE_800X480_RK3066_33_MAL_30_12_2015
What an amazing difference! Too many great things to name so I can never go back, however, my rear pre-amp channel has disappeared, and radio reception no longer works, when both these features were working before the flash upgrade. It's possible that the solder broke on the antenna lead as mentioned in other threads, I'll check that, but have others encountered these issues simultaneously? Did I overwrite with the wrong MCU.img? I've tried every Radio Tuner in the pulldown under Factory Settings...
One other minor issue, I can't change the rotating startup logo to the Porsche logo, it appears to accept my change, but then never does it.
Thanks for any help in advance!

You should have kept the original MCU, updating only the ROM...
Loading a newer MCU must be the last measure only if there are some relevant problems that can't be solved by a new ROM.
This recommendation is too often ignored...

So, are you saying I could downgrade the MCU.img, and my rear channel and radio may come back? None of the apps in the Update.img depend on later MCU firmware versions?

Absolutely not.
Restoring the original MCU might solve the problems, but unfortunately not always completely succeeds...

Just did the downgrade, no effect. Also, it's not just the pre-amp rear RCA outputs, the rear speaker outputs from the head unit itself are dead. Has anyone else had the rear channel go out on one of these decks from a firmware upgrade?
I'm fortunate in that I can have the front channel go to my amp and drive 4 of the 6 speakers, the dash speakers are driven by the front channel of the radio. Of course, the fader no longer does anything...

I'd revert back to the OEM android image and see if that fixes your problem also. Here's one for KLD, dual core, 800x480.

a few mic and speaker questions

so, i have had this blueangel for a while now and for the last (almost a year) i ave had low mic problems, with the handsfree it seems to be fine, but when i put the phone to my face people winge that i am to soft..it used to be fine before..also i replaced my blueangel speaker sometime last year, hoping that the audio quality might possibly be a tiny bit better, but i was wrong it is still crappy..so i am finding out about ordering a new mic (i have a feeling that is the problem, as the gsm issue would have affected the handsfree aswell??) should have one next week, but the audio quality issue is a big one, any ideas? the speaker cant produce certain frequencies and it sounds like something is dying!!..
back to the mic, could it be another problem that wont require replacement mic? i have made the hole bigger, but no dice..
any ideas peoples?

You could try going back to stock and see if that fixes the issue. You will then know that it isn't hardware related and that it is rom related. Otherwise, you will have to assume that it is hardware.

[Q] Speakers Problem : Software related or hardware .Suggest Any software to check

Hi there mates
I believe I have faulty speakers on my nexus as I don't hear anything from top speakers. Anyway can I confirm its not a software issue ? I got it shipped so sending back and forth will take two months via a friend to America. I am currently not in the UK to claim from Asus on global warranty. (Kazakhstan)
What can I do ?
Also suggest me a software that I can use to check it like taking control over both speakers or turn one off and on.
I am currently on Stock and not getting time to wipe datas and go in safe mod and check thoroughly due to my exams.
I even opened my nexus but could not find any wires or extra wax on chipboard. However, I didn't try changing the speakers (I forgot)
And I don't intend to open it again as I want to claim it via warranty.
Any help or advice ?
EDIT SOLVED :

Edit : Solved
To be completely honest with you good sir. It is likely a fault speaker. You can try flashing other Roms if you are rooted, and along with trying a factory reset.

Seeking a little clarity on USB capture devices

Hello all. New here, and relatively newly back in the Android world. I'm an apple guy(I know, bad word) when it comes to phones after two unfortunate attempts at Android ownership, but recently jumped back into the Android world with an attempt at a Nexus 7 car install. I've been having a heck of a time getting the one feature I really wanted to work though. That feature would be the backup camera. Really, adding a backup cam was the main reason I decided to change my stereo, as my car has really poor rear 3/4 visibility. I went with the Nexus because any change to my factory Blose system required replacing the amp, etc, and all of the aftermarket head units suck ass for the price.
So, long story short, I have now purchased two different USB capture devices to try to get the backup cam working, and neither work. The first time I ordered the wrong thing, not knowing about the STK 1150 requirement. The second time, I ordered one specifically listed as guaranteed genuine STK1150, and it's running a UTV007 chip. Grrrr.
So my question for you fine folks is, how the hell do I go about getting a USB capture device that will work with Android? Specifically, I'm running Timur's kernel, and the device is a 2013 model with 4G. I don't care if I have to fumble my way through tasker or whatever though, I just need a backup cam that works when I put the car in reverse.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Eonon GA6153F *BRICKED* (No recovery) Please help!

*Unable to post on software development due to limited posts*
Hi all, hope your well
My Eonon Ga6153f has been slow since I first got it.
Eonon have sent me numerous update files throughout my warranty period and there after but still no speed improvement
I decided to install a custom 'Malaysk' 5.1 firmware 1024x800 RK3188, this was whilst the car engine was off, it failed multiple times and I found out that the system was looking for a 'dupdate.img' not 'update.img'
So I renamed the file and it was going well however my car battery died during the installation and the head unit just cut off. I believe the head unit is now hard bricked.
All i get now is a black screen. I've tried booting into recovery as advised by eonon by holding reset and power etc.. But no luck. The dvd ejects and the head unit lights do come on when letting go of reset for 1 second but that's it.
I've tried using sd tool to load the stock eonon firmware on it but no luck. I've also had the img file on USB aswell but still nothing when switching the unit on
I've also tried rockchip batch tool by connecting head unit to the computer but rockchip cannot find the device? (Windows 10)
Am I doing something wrong? Any solutions?
I've spoke to eonon and they can't do nothing as I'm out of my warranty period and they are only willing to offer 10% off a brand new unit which still would cost me £280 which I reallly do not want to spending again
I've been driving without a stereo for 2 months now! Boring journeys everyday. Hope someone can help!
(P.s i am based in London, UK if anyone would like to come help me out)
Anyone???

MTCD 2GB 7.1.2 upgraded to MTCD 4GB 10.0 root/firmware

Hello there. I have upgraded the board from my Eonon KBT navigation from 4c/2gb/7.1.2 to 8c/4gb/android 10.
How can i root it, or if its an alternative software from malasyk/hal9k that can i use?
I kept searching, but i only found alternatives for Android 9.
Which board did you end up with for your upgrade? I also have an old Eonon unit (GA8166A for BMW X5 E53). I believe it is a PX3 board - MTCD KBT 2.61.
Hey. I bought this one : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32814725689.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dUrIXPN
Ordered via DHL (extra pay), but asked the seller to put a price tag of 10$, because DHL wouldn't take any commissions for under 10$ final price ).
It was plug and play with 2 day transport from China to Romania.
Nice - thanks for the super quick reply. I understand I need to flash the MTCD to MTCE with the correct KBT firmware before installing the new px5 board.
Did you manage to find an up to date version of the MTCE KBT firmware? Once again thank you - I really appreciate your input.
Nope, i didn't installed other MCU.
I did try a HA 3.41 version, but screwed my navi completely, even if i tried to make everything again in factory settings.
I did leave my default MCU (that came with the navi, KBT 2.61), and worked flawlessly.
I did saw your post now, about the Bluetooth problem. I have EXACTLY the same problem since i got it, and only in the cold weather. So, i guess its something about Eonon afterall.
I actually got tired of the bluetooth connection and i didn't conected it anymore to my phone.
Thanks - and no BT/WiFi issues? The reason I want to change the board is intermittent BT/WiFi.
Refresh this thread, i edited my last post )
So, the board will not save the BT issue.
Actually, i regret buying this px5 board because i think i would have been better with another navi.
Don't get me wrong, its a big difference from PX3 to PX5, but it would have been a bigger one to PX6 )
I saw some variants from XTRONS and JOYING, decent price, but with PX5 also. I want to get a PX6 if possible, to make it even faster.
Interesting. In my case it seems to be temperature related. Below 10 degrees or so the BT will not work. Eonon suggested to enter factory settings and set the BT to WQ_BC8. Did not work.
But when the unit is warm after driving for 10 min or so it seems to work. That is if I set BT to WQ_BC8 and then restarting the unit. After parking the car overnight the problem is back. All the paired devices are gone and the unit does not show up when searching for BT devices.
Maybe a different BT module (i.e USB) would solve the problem. WiFi works all the time.
Yep, wifi works without fuss.
BT, exactly your problem. Devices gone, no pin, no name, unsearchable.
Probably a different module to integrate on the motherboard, but i don't think its that easy to switch, i have no ideea. I will search!
