"camera detected " message every time i use my camera - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
I have as S4 mini and every time i try to use my camera, a black box appears that says "camera detected". I have to wait till it disappears before i can do anything. This usually takes about 5-6 seconds. The message also appears randomly in other configurations too even when I am not using the camera. It is really annoying as I cant do anything while the box is on the screen, just have to wait for it to disappear. Its particularly annoying when I want to take a quick photo of something as I often miss the moment waiting forthe box to disaappear. THis has only started happening in the last few months. It was fine when I first got the phone. I wondered if it was a result of another app downloaded or something? Im not a techie at all and know virtually nothing about phones or computers, so any very simple help would be hugely appreciated! Its driving me mad

bluetooth not working, camera not working

hi,
i have got an artemis to, and it was working fine till an few days ago.
Suddenly when i want to start my bluetooth, it doesn't work and says it's got an hardware problem, and my camera was working just fine, and suddenly it says, could'nt initialise camera.
So i gave the device an soft reset, didn't help, so i gave a hard reset, didn't work on the bluetooth, but the camera worked! Just ONE TIME!
So, maybe you guys now what i could do with it.
I still have garantee, but then the device is away for a couple of months.
I'm new to this kind of device, so i don't know very much about this, like installing new software or something else.
Forgive me if my english is awfull, i'm from holland.
Thanks!
I have the same problem!!!
I have the same problem than you with my camera.
It sometimes says "Couldn't initialise camera", and I need to soft-reset it so as to make it work. I don't really know why that happens.
And even more, when I'm using the camera, and I stop taking photos for a couple of minutes or something like that, and the camera goes to standby mode, when I press the camera button again to re-start it and keep on taking photographs, It seems to have the zoom adjusted at more than its maximum value, and it doesn't aim to the things it has in front, but the things situated at my left side, and I need to soft reset it, because if I close it and start it again, the famous message "Couldn't initialise..." appears again, so the only solution is a soft reset.
If anyone knows why this may happen, please, help us!
Thanks in advance!

HTC weather has stopped working

Hi all!
About 3 weeks ago my HTC weather-app (if you want to call it that..) stopped working. Ever since then I have been trying to revive it at various moments of the day, but it just will not update. I just tried it a second ago and it still does not work.
It goes like this; I click on the "update now" button on the taskbar and the 4 dots around the tiny globe start turning and they keep on turning.. and turning.. and turning.. and then it stops. It sometimes gives me an error-message but sometimes I get so annoyed I go on with whatever I was doing on my phone and forget about it.
I am connected to the Hi! network, if that helps.
Kind regards,
priscilla
Change your apn from portalmmm.nl to Internet. Then it should work again.
Where can I find apn?
And thanks!
Never mind, found it and it works, thanks!

Can't get the Quick List to stop appearing!

Hey there.. I just installed the Energy ROM after having received this phone as a gift from a friend (with an unknown other ROM installed). I haven't had any problems with it for several weeks until just earlier today when the Quick List has decided to randomly start appearing on my screen. I don't even know how to trigger that screen to appear myself, but I can leave my phone unlocked on my desk and it'll randomly show the Quick List for a little while, then it'll vanish, sometimes extremely quickly. But I can't do anything on the phone anymore since it's constantly appearing and interrupting whatever I'm trying to do.
Like I said, I attempted to install an Energy ROM (Energy.RHODIUM.21916.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Mar.08.7z, according to the file I downloaded from the Energy website) and it just finished no more than 30 minutes ago. As soon as I turned the phone back on from a reboot, that dang Quick List screen appeared.
Does anyone know why it keeps popping up and how I can get it to quit? Or is there some way I can just disable the Quick List altogether (as the options on it aren't really useful anyway..)? Thanks for any help ya'll can provide!
Started having this problem a few weeks ago. Did some hardresets, some task29 and tried different roms. But this quick list keeps appearing outof nowhere. Starts to get frustrating.
It's happening again...
So, for no reason that I could tell, it magically started working again (same rom as listed above) and I never saw the Quick List window again until today.
Today, I was using that same ROM as before, but the Quick List window started appearing. I thought that perhaps it was just something to do with that build, so I upgraded to the English build available at (well, tried giving the link but apparently I haven't posted enough, so never mind). It's at "http : // Energy Roms dot com forward slash www forward slash flavors forward slash sencity.html" for the HTC Touch Pro 2 Cookie (April 8, 2011 version). The ROM installs without a problem (absent the annoying attempts to get the phone to not constantly display the Quick List) but as soon as I power the phone on, the Quick List starts blinking on again.
I searched around as before for a solution and thought I could just disable the setting so that when I hold the end call button, it displays the Quick List, but after 10+ attempts to get to the settings window without the Quick List appearing and interrupting me (then closing itself automatically and displaying the Home screen), I finally got the setting saved and it didn't change anything.
Is it possible to just turn the Quick List feature off? Is there some known reason why it has possessed my phone? Thanks for any help ya'll can give.
Is there still no solution for self appearing Quick List? because I have the same problem :/
EDIT:
I've solved it The front keys flex need to be reconnected to main flex because "endkey" was self pushed what in energy rom is configured to turn on Quick List.

Strange network behaviour

Hello folks,
I have encountered a weird behaviour of my beloved 5X when on mobile data.
It occured for the first time approximately 8 or 9 days ago (well, at least that's where I really noticed for the first time since I am on WiFi for 80-90% of the day).
Suddenly everything Google-related stopped working. I could not get into my mails (blank screen and the loading circle for an eternity), I could not get google now to work properly, facebook didn't work (also blank screen + loading circle) and and and....finally google now and facebook showed some content but without any pictures. The same happened when I tried to use Chrome to browse the web. Either I could not get a connection to any website I tried to enter or something showed up but without pictures loading and veeeeeery slowly.
Strange thing was that everytime I just searched for something via Google, the results showed up almost immediately, but then again as soon as I tried to enter a webpage nothing was working.
This happened a lot of times until now, sometimes a reboot is helping, sometimes not. Sometimes airplane mode on/off is helping, sometimes not.
This is driving me crazy and I don't know how to proceed.
Is there any app for mobile data diagnostics or some kind of tool which can monitor the in- and out-data of my mobile network?
My carrier is Vodafone in Germany and this is definitely not a carrier-problem since I know a lot of people with Vodafone who did not have any problems in the couple last days.
Any advice on how to proceed in order to delimit the possible causes for this behaviour would greatly by appreciated.
Thank you in advance. :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

"unable to connect" pop up every few minutes

Good morning,
I keep seeing a pop up at the bottom of my screen every few minutes that says "unable to connect" . I see it on my home screen and also while in apps. I can't figure out what is causing it to happen. Has anyone else had this?
I also keep having sound issues where I lose sound for minutes at a time. Do not know if this is connected.
Thanks for any help.
That sounds like an application problem not a hardware or ROM issue. You installed something on your phone that's causing this to occur, or it's your WiFi. Impossible to tell what's wrong with the limited amount of info you provided.
