Not sure where you meant to post this but the highest HTC software version the vzw has is 3.X.X. There's still no software exploit for the m9 either so even if you somehow could downgrade there's nothing to downgrade for.
Thinking you are an m8 guy?

Nope not the m8 guy. i just bought my first htc phone since my last one about 12-15 years ago. i honestly did not know what to ask. that is why i am asking here. i have been a Samsung Galaxy person so long. HTC is all new to me again. I was hoping that if i could downgrade then i would be able to root my phone so there would be less headaches. I almost feel like a total noobie here.

OK. So no software exploit. There's a Java card thread in the general section where you can locate users who might be close enough to meet up or that you can ship your phone to in order to get s-off.

Had to scour the net for this. Hope this helps Asian Desire Z owners like me. Cheers!
That's an earlier version than the shipping ROM for those phones, isn't it ? The PC10IMG.zip file was posted here some weeks ago.

guess so, that's the newest version I have seen so far on the Internet.
But I did root, S-Off and flashed Overclock modules before doing a system backup.
don't know that if I dump my ROM , will it still be same as the original

No, because of the changes you've made to it.
Speaking of, I need the 1.34.707.5 RUU that came with my phone. This version is kinda sluggish. Slower than my desire. wish i didn't try to hack it without a ruu to fall back on.

Might be worth asking HTC for one ? I don't see why they shouldn't give it to you. No harm in trying, anyway.

Seriously? They give out RUUs? What do I tell them (not to arise suspicion) since the phone is on warranty.

I'm pretty sure that's where all the RUUs originate from. Maybe tell them your phone was acting kinda weird and you tried a "return to stock" but that wouldn't work, so you want to try flashing the ROM again to see if that helps rather than sending it back ?
You can open a support call via email on their website. You have to supply a serial number, so they probably won't ask too many questions and might even just give you an RUU.
Work asking, anyway ? Maybe someone else can think of a better story, that was just off the top of my head.
I'm ****ed. Of course I didnt tell them I flashed an older ruu rom.Their reply is:
Thank you for contacting HTC. With reference to your query, we are sorry to inform you that the ROM on your unit is up to date and currently there is no RUU. ok, well it was worth a try. Is there something specific in that ROM that means you couldn't use give the standard European ROM a try ? e.g. particular Asian languages that you need ?
Not really though I've been trying to make a goldcard through the goldcard app and failing miserably at it.

I have got an idea. Tell them you are running a old version(you get this phone from your friend, and you didn't know where it's from), like 1.34.4xx.x
and ask for 1.34.708.5 or newer
see how they reply
edit: I have post HK 1.34.708.3, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860430
hope we can get 1.34.708.5 or newer
sorry i'm just curious if you're able to flash this over to the g2? trying to find a chinese UI for the g2

[Q]Desire HD Latest Software Build?[Q]

Hi there XDA, I've asked a similar question to this before, however since then some things have changed and it's got me wondering, what the hell is going on over at HTC with these software build numbers?
I recently aquired a replacement phone from Orange UK for a Desire HD. The software version on the phone I sent to them was 1.32, however the phone I recieved was running a software version of 1.72, I know for a fact that when I sent that phone to them, there were no updates available, and the thing is, it's a door to door thing. Both handsets are exactly the same, they are both de-branded yet have an Orange logo on the back.
It's sorta fustrating because I know that one of these builds i clearly the one I should have, but I don't know which is which, would someone be kind enough to explain and point me in the right direction of the ROM i should flash? Thanks, and btw im in the UK.

If you want to root etc it would be easier on the 1.32 version but is still easy to do on the 1.72 version, you just use a different approach.
All the answers you need are in the development forum. Don't need to put a link here for you, it's not hard to find. Alternatively, use the link in my sig.
What ROM you SHOULD flash is up to YOU. YOU decide what one YOU like the most.

Your in luck, if you do not want to root, and have a unbranded handset you can have official HTC Gingerbread. An HTC RUU with the upcoming 2.3 release was leaked.

You got 3 options wait for official unlocked bootloader, buy xtc-clip, or find an unlock shop, because no one here is gonna help you. Me personally i'm taking my phone to unlock shop soon, if and when I do get unlocked I will do my best to help everyone.
This phone has a lot of potential and theres alot of developers out there that would love to have this phone, unfortunately locked bootloader is a major factor in there decisions. The sooner we get unlocked the better.
I don't have this phone myself but my girlfriend got it yesterday so it's kinda like a new toy for me too. I might have to convince her to get it S-off'd at a local unlocking shop so I can tinker with it
It's shame there's no unlocked bootloader for it though... I bet HTC would sell a lot more units if they didn't lock them.

Is HTC planning to issue RUU for the M8 or not !?

Hey Guys ,
I have been waiting for so long for the RUU . Anyone has an idea when is it going to be available ?
I just want be confident if i missed the phone up i could bring it back to default with a single file without the hassle of recoveries and flashing stock
nothing yet ?
HTC have never really officially released RUUs for their phones, they've leaked from service centres/HTC staff in the past. Some US carriers do release them but the unbranded ones are like rocking horse sh*t!
I have it for the US unlocked version but the forum doesn't let me post links.
Why not? Seems weird as this is the place to share

Just find a "Show us your home screen" or "Pics taken with your phone" type of thread. One of the reasons those are there is to provide ways to help newer members reach their 10 posts. Pretty sure you're still able to add pics as an attachment when <10 posts.
This works on CID BS_US001 unlocked version:

Old guy needs help with int. M9

Folks...
I'm like a lost sheep...and need some expert help.
I've got a new international m9 unlocked...running on US ATT network...
I'm fighting to get LTE...
The device is bone stock....and running 5.1.1....
If possible I would like to keep the phone stock when done...
The big question....how to get the device running LTE ???
I'm not good with HTC...and I don't want a Brick...so ANY solid help would be greatly appreciated....
I've been reading threads for 2 days and scared myself into posting this thread....
Can I push an RUU dev image ??...or....well.....you guys decide and I'll listen...
This old guy should be retired....but I really like this phone...
My thanks in advance....g
I would recommend going s-off and flashing the dev edition ruu I did that to my at&t version and lte works fine

Looks like the right answer for LTE...
And is the official OTA option closed at that point ??
Or will it still take MM in a few weeks ??
Not really the end of the world if OTA doesn't work....
Wondering if I should just bust it wide open with bootloader unlock and custom recovery...then I can flash anything...g
Thanks gents....I'll think about it for a few minutes....g
So....am I wasting my time with windows 10 and the htcdev...
The dang command prompt fails to open with some windows error...
No token yet....still at it...g
Edit:
Looking like adb errors...
Windows sucks....g
