Gsm rom only Tmobile AT&T for Sprint phone - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

I was wondering if its possible to make a gsm rom only for people like us who have a sprint phones unlocked and we only using gsm service such as AT&T and tmobile.
I do make custom roms and make little changes in roms, but i never porting gsm rom to cdma device before. I tried to flash tmobile and att rom on the phone, but i got no service "imei and baseband" showed as unknown.
Im ready to buy you $100 whiskey bottle , and im sure there are many of us need rom like this.
Btw stock looking is a preferred
Thanks

Why is it there is no roms for this device?

yes...the custom recovery works.
but the roms will install but doesnt works perfect. no service

I can work on putting something together
I finally got my two devices unlocked. I can put something together that is geared towards GSM only. The reason they are not working is the framework, buildprop, and mainly the kernel do not use the hardware the correct way. Even though they have gsm capability kernels/ framework from the GSM only devices will not establish connections the same way.

After updating to 6.0.1, the GSM network is more stable. I'm using Att and now LTE and 3G both working perfectly.
I feel now my phone is pretty much as good as stock AT&T phone, except the sprint bloated apps and other sprint stuff. Like voicemail and the ability to dial 611 without jumping to sprint app. I'd love to have stock AT&T ROM and I'm sure others would love to have stock T-Mobile rom and international stock ROM....
This guy did it for sprint note 5

This would be awesome. At the moment I can't even get MMS to work on the g928p on at&t.

Im sure this isn't the only way but probably easiest. Get cm9 and there is an option for it in the settings menu. Works like a charm.

Can't you just put in a 3G apn in ? I believe you can under wireless & networks - more..mobile networks- Access Point Names-hit the search button- new apn and enter one that is for 3G only and click on the one you build as your apn and voila.

From my experience after changing to gsm only and then back to WCDMA preferred i was unable to pick up an LTE signal anymore, requiring to perform the unbrick method to re-aquire LTE connectivity

Hey everyone! I have a couple of concerns/issues, I have been digging in the forums, on tmobile, etc., I have called my mother and she did say I was special (confirmed Im a loser). Hope you guys can help. I am on the tmobile network, I had an LG G2X (awesome phone), had no problems with root, roms, etc., I just got and unlocked a LG Nitro HD (930) which is from AT&T, I added in the APN for tmobile, which I am able to make calls, text, and get internet, but I can only get 2G/Edge speeds. Does it have to do with the baseband? When I go into the settings I do not have all of the options I had on the G2X to select the network type and so on. I purchased a new phone so that I would not need to renew contract, the phone is better, faster, but slow as a turtle on the internet. I would also like guidance on how to root? There is so much on the LG nitro it is somewhat confusing, I would not want to do anything to ruin the phone. What is the best method, easiest, safest way to root my LG Nitro? I have seen forums with different methods, and so on, the device does not seem to be too root friendly, if one of you experts could provide guidance on how to? best method? what is the best way to load a custom rom, and the best rom out there with good battery life? That would be great. I had CM9 on my G2X and it was great. My phone info is this:
baseband - P930-mdm9220b-v10j-Feb-26-2012-xx1
Kernel v 2.6.35.11
Build GRJ90
Android 2.3.5
Looking at the other post, I thought this would be the best one to post it on.

Hello,
Given the information you have provided about your phones current software you will need to go through the un-brick process in order to downgrade your phones software to a version that can be rooted. Even though your Nitro is not necessarily bricked at the moment the un-brick process will restore your phone to a root able state. I would recommend using mattman86 "[GUIDE] Unbrick, Root, And Install CWM" thread also located in the general section of the Nitro Forum. This guide is a bit easier to follow than others found around here. As a result of the un-bricking process your phone will be rooted. From there I would suggest installing ClockWorkMod recovery and performing a backup of your phone in case you do brick your phone in the future so you will not have to re-do the un-bricking process. As for custom ROM's I would recommend CM9 Stable release. I get awesome battery life with CM9 Stable on my Nitro. As for your data connection, I would try to use a different T-Mobile APN if one exist and see if that works. Hope I could be of help. Click the thanks button if I helped you!

The reason you can't get faster data speeds is because AT&T phones are designed to operate on AT&T's 3G network frequencies, which are not at all compatible with T-Mobile's. Basically, it's impossible to get 3G or faster speeds using the Nitro HD (or any other phone sold by AT&T) on T-Mobile's network, nor will it ever be possible. If data speed is important, you should return the phone now and buy a phone that is intended to be used with T-Mobile instead. (That, or switch providers to AT&T.)

That is correct, you still need to downgrade, your baseband indicates you are on the February update released by LG and you need to downgrade to the original October firmware that came with the nitro when it first shipped. T-mobile to work on ATT

Hi,
I spent last night getting my t-mobile galaxy s4 to work on ATT. I did a lot of research on the subject and it wasn't that difficult at all. I bought the phone off of EBAY.
I was able to accomplish this from all of the tools here and a little research.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335109 (hopefully fixed link)
The first thing i did was root the phone and install CWM. I then used the sim unlock found in the link above. The next step i took (because i like custom roms on my phone) was to install TASK650's AOKP rom. I flashed the rom and followed his instructions.
After the restart, I went through the welcome screen and shut the phone down. I put my sim in and started the phone. I noticed i was getting the H, but no LTE. This led me to more research. The fix was easy once I found it. The APN needs to be pointed to the ATT phone option. It defaults to wap.cingular. After about 5 minutes and a reboot the LTE appeared and after the speed tests confirmed.
This is not a guide. I am just sharing my experience. If you do this please do your own research as you can do damage to your phone. There are risks involved, flash and modify your phone at your own risk.
Why are you posting the same thing here that you did in the att area?
actually i'm thankful that he posted it. I'm trying to accomplish the same thing and its good to know it works. I tried the unlock sim procedure and it didn't work, although I didn't follow the newer instructions, so I will try again.
also, your link seems to be broke
Guess if you post the same thing everywhere you may get an answer. New concept. I'm gonna remember that.

Best bet is to ignore the search function and post any and all questions you have, no matter the topic, wherever you please. Makes this forum so easy to navigate and n00b friendly.
Wrong
This is exactly why these forums go to sh$$
Obviously you did not read the rules, peeps like this need a week ban from this site until you understand the rules.

Sarcasm doesn't go through text very well.. :\ I wasn't actually being serious. Check my posting history, I've been flamed for telling someone to do their own research... I've caught crap for recommending someone to, at the very least, use an already established thread on the subject to ask their question which has been asked a thousand times... but meh.

you can also do a speed test and check if you are getting LTE speeds.

The AT&T APN's I have used in the past with success to get LTE are:
Name: ATT LTE
APN: pta
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,supl,mms
For the "phone" APN, just replace "pta" with "phone". The other values should be the same; although I never got LTE/4G with that APN.
Things not listed are "not set"

Are you certain you're in an LTE area? I pulled those straight off the phone I was using prior to getting the S4; and I was getting LTE..
Ohh, one other thing, not sure if it applies, but still... depending on what kind of phone you are coming from, you may have to call AT&T and have them tweak your data plan. I've seen reports that when coming from an iPhone to Android, you will still be on the iPhone data plan and unable to receive 4G/LTE.
Yes I am in a lte area I used to get it with my iphone all the time then I switched to a s3 changed the plan and got it with that now I have an unlocked s4 through tmobile
A buddy of mine works for at&t so tomorrow hes gonna give me the stock apn settings from an s4 so ill try it out

I really appreciate you creating this thread. It helped me out a lot. just ignore the trolls as they are of no value.
Thanks to your thread and a little searching i too was able to get everything working. I moved to tmobile from att just to find out service in my area was very bad. Switched back to ATT and brought my tmobile galaxy s4 and everything works great. using paranoid android rom from tmobile forums and works perfect on ATT with LTE.

Switching from T-Mobile to ATT

Hello, sorry if this has already been brought up but I haven't seen anything concrete. I have a t-mobile S4 currently running on att. It seems to work ok, but should I do anything extra like flash an att kernel? So far the only issues I have is that visual voicemail won't work, and the signal stops every now and then and reconnects like fifteen second later.
Running liquid smooth Rom atm.
Thanks!

Have you changed the APNs to AT&T's?
About Visual voicemail, do you mean T-Mobile's Visual Voicemail app? If so, you can not use it anymore, because you need to have T-Mobile service.

Because you have a T-Mobile device, stick with the T-Mobile kernels. As far as what APNs to use:

[Q] Verizon HTC One and AT&T Sim Card

Hi:laugh: Well I'm new to theses stuff so I will estate my problem and question:
I bought a unlocked (Verizon) HTC One, and I put my AT&T Sim Card --
The phone recognized the sim and its says 'at&t' and I input the at&t APNs(the 4g because thats its the plan i got)
but I can't call, sms or even going in to the internet its just says E(I think thats means Edge rigth?) and the phone doesn't do anything.
(I live in Puerto Rico)
I had tried in Global Mode and in GSM/UMTS mode.
I cant entered even setting that are suppose to pop when you dial *#*#4636#*#*
The phone is S-On.
What can I do to at least call/txt in the phone? Or what do you guys advise me?

Thanks!

So what carrier (instead of Verizon) would do the work?
(by that I mean: the phone working with multimedia message, message, 4g, calls)?
In PR we got NET10, CLARO and some other, I just want the phone working with its pros :l
there's no way to patch the radio of the phone or something?

So it doesn't matter if you unlocked the phone or no, 4g won't work and that's it?
Thanks!
I have heard that the radios are there but have been disabled. I'm not sure how true that is, but knowing Verizon I wouldn't put it past them to do that so you can't use it 100% on their rivals. Kinda like how every other HTC One has the FM radio but ours is mysteriously broken... hmm...
Oh

You're in a forum devoted to the Verizon versions of the HTC One. So why post about your AT&T sim?

Because the phone is the Verizon version and is unlock that's why about the Att Sim problem.
But its seem that Its not the 'at; like they're saying is suppose to be a problem with the disable radios...
That's why asking is there's a way to enable those radios or something now

I believe that any radios that do not function in the Verizon version of a phone (including frequency ranges for various cellular services as well as the FM Radio) were not disabled by any sort of software. Instead Verizon supplies phones with modified hardware: the circuitry and connections in the phone. No patch or App can change the hardware.

What about achieving S-Off and enabling the proper radios? I too have a Verizon HTC One with an AT&T SIM. Ive been doing a lot of research into it and found a couple suggesting that method would work. Thoughts?

I stand by what I said. A SIM doesn't change the hardware to which it is connected. But: is anyone preventing you from
continuing your research and trying whatever pleases you? I for one will be delighted to hear if and how you got FM to work on a Verizon HTC One.
So can someone please tell me if Verizon phones are supposed to have G connection only with Verizon sim card, how did my phone had G connection?!!?! Where I live and most of the places it says "E" but already I noticed on a couple of places that it says "G". What's the deal? Using MetroPCS!
p.s. Also contacted MetroPCS and they confirmed that I was using "G" connection...

Galaxy S4 4.4.2 NB4 won't send MMS or receive em =/

I got this phone for my dad, as he had this old crappy phone for years and overpaid for his cell bill every month for minute plan lol i know.
So i got him this Galaxy s4-m919 model to find out that it was upgraded as part of a plan, then the person claimed it they lost it to sell it to another person, and ofc they wouldn't refund me.
So i took another path and came on here to get help, ofc it was a T-mobile phone, so I guess i'm blacklisted on t-mobile networks, but i flashed to 4.3 modem, did sim unlock, then flashed back to 4.2.2.
Put in my new Att sim card, and service has worked ever since, the lame part is now he wants to use MMS, and it keeps on failing to send/receive, when he recieve a mms from someone, it comes up as a huge ass url(you have to click it to see the picture in the browser or w.e, but never ever loads rofl, idk y.)
He doesn't use any apps, he just uses it for calling, internet at times, navigation, wants to use MMS, takes pictures/video, etc. But MMS doesn't work, I ever called the H2O to help me, and they said that i needed to change my "Message Center #" for it to work, seriously? My other phone has "+12063130004", and my dad's is "+13123149810", i think H2O rep wanted me to change it to the # my other phone has which is the first number i listed. Is this really the care? If so, how can I change it? =/
First thing to check, in my opinion, is to see if all the APN options are set correctly. Settings \ Mobile Network \ <more> APN Settings will usually get you there. The ATT APN settings can be found here but you may need to search around if H2O requires different ones. I'm on standard ATT and the settings at that link work for me, with my M919 phone.
Good luck!

Just tried ATT Phone APN settings, and my internet nor MMS work; yeah H2O has a bit different settings then att.
They're:
name: h2ointernet (doesn't do anything but eh)
APN: att.mvno
proxy: not set
port: not set
server: not set
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingurlar.com
Multimedia message proxy: 66.209.11.33
Multimedia message port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: not set
APN type: *
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
Turn APN on/off: on
Mobile virtual network operator type: none
I also saw somewhere that you can hook up your phone to the computer and change the Message Center # using Root Explorer(just re-read the post on xda about this and u have to have it rooted =/), then 'SilverEdit' to edit the xml to enter the message center number?( also heard it wasn't permanent either, if u turned it off, or battery died or w.e. it would revert to the previous #, not sure tho) Not sure what to do here. The internet works fine, but H2O rep says i need to change my Message center number to a different one for mms to work. Also tried changing default msging app to hangouts and sending a mms, and it came up with " mobile plan blocks MMS." I also put his sim card into my working phone, and ofc the message center # was the same when i switched it over to my phone and ofc it won't send, says "mms not supported by network, service response error"
Anyone?
Can anyone help me with "Message Center"? My MMS doesn't work, can't send or receive(when i receive an mms, it comes as a big ass url something like "viewmymessage.com/webgui/bla bla/ bla bla/ and so on/", can't open the link on the phone.
If you have AT&T service on a t-mobile phone it needs to be unlocked. He is using it to call people, so I guess it is. You should try flashing an AT&T modem.
Before that, try making your APN type: IPv4 or IPv6. And MM message proxy:0
I'l try that, just put in my H2O settings: APN type: IPv4 or IPv6. And MM message proxy:0; Can't try atm, as for some reason his data went down to 0, even tho he wasn't even using internet for anything on his phone...which was weird. The way I unlocked this phone was flashing the 4.2.2. modem, then went thru "service mode" and did step by step. If the Apn settings you gave, wouldn't work, would flashing the att modem 100% work(got link for the modem, cba to find it atm, last time if flashed it, i used odin)? I'm on 4.4.2 Android version, Baseband: m919uvufnb4.

You're with AT&T on a Tmobile phone right? You should still need to have an AT&T modem. In the slot where it says "APN type", put it as IPv4 and the slot below "APN type", put it as IPv4, also. But non of that is worth trying if you are using AT&T service. You need AT&T modem and APN settings.
Edit: I was watching a movie and read you comment wrong lol. Yes you need to flash AT&T modem and APN

No problem, I was just wondering, is it safe to use other carriers modem onto T-mobiles phone, yet using At&ts modem(diff carrier), some people said it could screw up your IMEI or w.e rofl. I found the modems for i335 which is Att here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2496517

Off-topic, if you flash to att modem and you already unlocked your phone or w.e., nothing gets effected, once unlocked, stays unlocked eh?

Actually, be careful with this. The modem (which is two parts) has to be paired with the phone model. For example, an M919 can't use the modem from an I337. The Modem runs the radio hardware, which varies by phone. ATT & T-Mo variants have different antennae bands supported, so need somewhat different radios. I'm not sure if trying a different radio will brick anything, but numerous threads have said it doesn't work. The modem consists of the modem.bin (the "GSM Modem") which can be flashed at will, and the non-hlos.bin ("LTE Modem")which needs to be paired with the phone bootloader, or else chaos ensues.
You DO need the right APN settings. Unfortunately, I have no experience with the message center thing... can't help there.

Your phone will still be unlocked regardless. Try to change the APN setting to AT&T first. Like Frankenscript said, both phones have different radios so changing the modem might not work.

I seen people say it works and others say it didn't. Nothing about bricking the phone tho but I do understand what you are saying.
I tried ATT settings, didnt work. I put on H20 settings that were on the site, didn't work. Tried my bros H2O settings that he got from chat rep on their site, then 4G started working, but I keep getting "Mms failed, server error" or w.e. keeps failing, put the H2O internet settings(on), and mms settings. Not sure if his phone is missing something or because his phone is blocked on tmobile's networks, his using H2O meaning his on ATT's network.(i bought him a cheap 1$ mirco-sim, off ebay) Not sure if that plays any role, the calls are good, dats works now, etc, just mms wouldn't work. Suggestions? Some1 on H2Os rep side said it could be the "message center #", that's y it can't be sent or receive or w.e.(His is atts message center #, and its greyed out"
Anyone know how to fix mms problem?(cant receive or send atm, tried a lot of things). Mms keep failing, server error, not supported by network or w.e., lost on wut else to do.
Anyone?

This is the root of your problem, buying stuff from other people, it's probably stolen.
Throw it away and go buy a new phone from Att and this issue will go away.
Somethings fishy here.

Cell 4 sale store was selling it, not just a random person. I guess they probably either do it themselves ir buy it from ppl who do it.(upgrade their phone to gs4 or w.e. then claim it lost or stolen, thus keeping their old one and selling the new one) I think they probably flashed it to work for internation, but idk, might've been rooted before 4.4.2, since ota got installed, means root is gone. Anyway to fix the problem instead of just replying with a negative reply? I want to use the phone, calling etc works fine everywhere, 4g is a bit in some places, mms doesnt work at all, one rep at h2o said it might be cuz of message center number, he wanted me to change it to a diff one and see if it solves it or not, but my message center is greyed out.
Apparently there is something wrong with it, at least you should be able to get it replaced for one that works. It could be a build.prop issue. Just guessing.
Pp. Good luck.
Still looking for a solution, anything I could try, to fix Mms to work again?(cant send or receive as it says "server error", failed mms, etc)
