HTC one m8 GPE 6.0 not detected by pc - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
My is not currently detected by my computer but it still charges. It was all working fine last week.
I don't even see in device manager as an unknown device.
I tried the usual things like another cable, another USB port, another computer and factory reset but none of this worked. I also tried to go in fastboot but when I plug the usb cable it says FASTBOOT AC and if I remove the cable it stays that way.
I also tried entering the #*0808# menu but it doesn't seem to work*(Connection problem or invalid MMI code)
Is there something else I can do? Is there any way to debug to see if it's the USB plug?
Thank you in advance.

HBOOT USB Master Mode

Has anyone tried connecting a usb stick to the usb port of the phone with an adapter cable and then going into the bootloader? i noticed the message "failed to open usb master mode" flashes on the screen when first entering the bootloader. perhaps it's there because some newer phones don't have removable media anymore and this would be a way to flash files on it when you can't copy anything to the embedded mmc memory. maybe if the bootloader detects a usb stick it will mount it automatically.
I just tried, but nothing happened. Must be my OTA cable is bad. Also tried with USB keyboard connected to see if it makes any difference, but didn't notice anything unusual. Also tried booting HBOOT with some keys pressed but no luck But again, my cable might be bad.

T989 USB Port DEAD

When I plug my handset to ANY computer (with, without kies or drivers, it doesn't matter) the phone charges, but, nothing appears on the computer (no unknown device or recognizing the two drives of the phone, but not mounting them (as it did before)) on the phone.
The "USB" icon doesn't prompt and if I go to settings/wireless and network/ USB utilities, when I touch the USB mass storage button, it prompts me to connect cable, which is already connected.
-USB debug isn't activated (I've tried both)
When my phone is powered off and I start to charge it, the charging screen doesn't prompts, It just start booting.
I've tried different USB Cables.
The Phone is Official Stock Never Rooted (I discovered this trying to root it today)
Am I SOL if I want to root it without a working USB Data port?
Any ideas?
i would say make sure there's no dust/ buildup in the port. I had connection issues once to find a pocket lint cramed in there. next do all the other stuff. uninstall/reinstall drivers, diff usb port, diff pc, reboot. My symptoms were similar to yours but i was able to reboot into recovery/bootloader and use adb/fastboot no prob, so not sure. and I was already rooted/twrp recovery. might be worth it to try fastboot in bootloader just to be sure and get a recovery on it asap. If that works you should be able to recover stock or flash whatever, then test usb again in diff pc with fresh kies install. good luck.
Sounds like bad/improper USB cables to me, not all USB cables support data and charging, make sure you're using an official Samsung USB cable.
If you have a friend with a Samsung smart phone ask to try their cable.

pc connection doesnt work

ok i was going to transfer some files to my phone via usb cable and when i connect the usb cable to the phone the only thing that happens is that it displays slow charging logo. i checked and the phone is set to ask what to do when the cable is connected and tried another cable. im not on a custom rom and i tried to factory reset the phone but still wont work. any ideas ?

HTC One m9 grayed out USB Connection

I have a new m9, performed 3-4 os updates, and now I cannot connect via USB to any PC. I've read suggestions, different cables, different PC, but nothing works. I booted into are mode, but it still didn't work. I haven't done a hard reset, yet.
The setting More - USB Connection shows the following, with nothing I do allowing me to change it.
Any ideas?
Mine is blanked out too. I think it might only work when it detects mirror link, try using the original cable.
If you are trying to connect as a mass storage device just connect the original cable to phone and pc. The pc should recognise it within 10 seconds.
You can force USB modes from within developer settings.

LG G7 EMW (Brazil - Claro) USB does not work, but charging and EDL mode do

Hi all.
I have a wonderful LG G7 (model G710EMW from Brazil carrier Claro).
Recently I've tried to connect it to my new car audio system that supports Android Auto and it didn't work as expected. Long story short, I've discovered that USB does not work on my phone.
Charging works alright, but anything that requires an USB connection simply does not work.
When I connect my phone to my PC, the phone starts charging, never shows the "USB connection" notification icon and the PC does not recognize anything. The phone also does not allow me to choose the kind of USB connection that is to be used (you know, MTP and the other options). When connected to PC through USB cable it displays exactly the same behaviour as if it was connected to a regular charger.
I have tried different cables, being two LG original USB-C to USB-A cables, an USB-C to USB-A from Xiaomi and a generic brand USB-C to USB-A charging and data cable. All of them show the same behaviour.
I did soft reset my phone, thinking maybe some app I downloaded could be interfering, but it also did not change anything. Also hard-reset, but no change either.
I've already tried replacing the circuit board with the USB plug but that also didn't change anything.
The only time USB works is in EDL mode, which shows expected behaviour. PC recognizes the "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3)" port and with QFIL I can navigate through partitions and stuff seems to work.
I would try installing a different ROM, but as I would need to cross-flash to unlock bootloader (default ROM does not enter fastboot) I am stuck on the USB issue now.
Has anyone seen something like this? Any suggestions to what I could try?

Hi bro, i'm from brazil too, have you tried reinstall usb drivers? have you tried on another pc? If you are using Windows 10, check on Windows update if its not blocking the drivers

I did try on another two different computers, all on Windows 10, and none of them recognized the phone except when the phone was in EDL mode.
I haven't tried installing drivers for the phone, before when it worked I never had to manually install anything for the PC to recognize my phone.
I'll give that a go, thanks!

Just to let you know, I could not find the USB driver for regular usage of the phone connected to the PC. What I found was drivers to use the phone with ADB and drivers for EDL mode.
I got to test the phone on a Linux Manjaro installation and there the computer also did not recognize any new device with "lsusb" command, whereas using a working LG G7 ThinQ the output of "lsusb" was:
Code:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 1004:61f9 LG Electronics, Inc. Optimus (Various Models) MTP Mode
Note: the working phone had the USB connectivity option set to "Charge only" (or something like that, my phone is in Portuguese).
