I removed Album as the default picture launcher like done by venkat kamesh (link to original thread is at the end) for other Xperia models following his nice tutorial , after installing you can choose which app will be used for opening your pictures out of the camera.

will it work with marshmallow?
No, this version is only working for Lollipop.
I will make a MM version in the following days and post it here.
I'm.using this xposed module to accomplish the same thing.

I managed to modify the apk, unfortunately it doesn't start any longer, no idea why ... Any hints what could go wrong after recompiling the apk with apktool and cause the app to crash? I did it the same way as with LP ...

Yeah, I haven't made the jump to mm for a lot of reasons, xposed modules being a big one
Should work by now with MM, see first post for instructions!
Happy Easter
didn't work on mm (32.1.A.A.163), didn't appear in drawer and oat folder didn't recreate himself after reboot, permissions are correctly set, even wiped cache and dalvik/art cache through recovery. is there a problem with the apk ? could you post md5 of SemcCameraUI-generic-xhdpi-release.apk plz

On my device it works without having the oat-folder and as far as I know the oat-folder won't be created again, because the apk is deodexed ...
I just downloaded my file again and did the whole process again and it still works .
Did you do it (copy the file and set the permissions) via adb?
Could you try it again?
md5 is: 43774a75b358b255ca629c0bfd56e289
md5 is correct, I set permissions with total commander, I did it with root explorer too, the permissions are correctly set (rw-,r--,r--) but camera app is nowhere to be found ... I will try with adb and see
The camera is missing after I did this.
Tried it on Marshmallow, can you help bro?
Followed the instructions carefully. Thank you
Tried via adb, doesn't work as well.
Upon checking the file SemcCameraUI-generic-xhdpi-release.apk its still my default apk and not the one i pushed with adb (the one i downloaded here), the oat folder was still there as well. Pretty sure I deleted it via adb as well and no error showed up.
Update: Tried it again via adb, this time SemcCameraUI-generic-xhdpi-release.apk pushed properly with correct permissions and oat folder deleted as well. But the camera is now missing again. Any ideas? Thank you
I had somehow similar problems that I can't explain ... just copy back your original files including the oat folder and check if its working again (it should) and afterwards try it again. For me it works ...

Thanks but tried it like 3 times already, no luck still.
Not working for me either on 6.0.1 -.-
Seems like .apk is broken or something (when opening .apk get parsing error )
and when replacing original .apk Camera disappears like the other ones said

Hello, what about using Xposed to create a module like the one working for Lollipop?
it would be a lot easier for people instead of replacing files, messing with odex files and It could probably support all the MM releases. If i have some time i could try to do it, but i'm not as skilled as you.
Apart from that, thank you a lot for the work! I've been searching this since ever.
modified camera for MM 6.0.1
Herewith modified camera file from 32.2.A.0.224
For me it works like a charm.
Enjoy!!

Ok, so i modded about 6 png's that are for the notification bar.
However, when i add them to my used framework-res (no problems at all) my phone get's stuck in a bootloop.
After a quick question in the ROM threat, brady1uk mentioned the file size.
so i checked them, and before i modded them they were a total of 43kb, but now they are 143kb!
Could this be the problem of my bootloop, and if yes, how do i reduce the file size?
*added the status_bar png's*
I don't think it's the file size. Let me ask, when you "add them to your used framework-res" how do you do it? Did you extract the .apk then re-archive?

I open the framework-res whit winrar, and i just drag and drop my custom files in there with out extracting it.
ok, so i replaced my new png's whit the old ones in the hope my phone would work again, but it didn't
Now i'm totaly clueless...
If someone could take a look at what i have combined and why it doesn't work it would love it (using lee droid 1.9A)

as all is failing i would suggest getting the original framework-res.apk - before u ever touched it (download leedroid rom again if you didnt back it up). And then use either APK Manager or Theme Pro to decompile the apk, then mod away and change everything you want then use APK Manager or Theme Pro to compile it back up. Thats how I do it. I think there is a chance using Winrar to just pull out the files and add them back in has currupted it somehow

ok, so i did this, but now when i flash the .zip i get a error [ E:Failure at line 9: run_program PACKAGE:check_data_app instalation aborted.]
Ok, so after failing to create my own apk file i pulled it from my desire and added the 6 files to it.
adb push, reboot.
And it gets stuck in a bootloop...
So ok, that failed, but i had the pulled framework still on my computer, so i decided to push this file back to make it work again.
But now it's still stuck in a bootloop....
seems like my adb corupts the .apk or what could be the problem?
You shouldnt need to decompile it if your only making a few changes to the framework.
I use 7-zip to open the rom, navigate to the required apk, and open that archive then swap the images over, no need to delete the original, they will just get over written. Then press up or back within 7-zip. when you navigate out of the apk you were in 7-zip will say it has been changed, carry on, pressing back untill you are all the way out of the rom. Then resign the rom and flash it.
Ive never used apk tool to change images in the htc resources or the framework res and never had a problem.

I pretty sure the framework in the zip you posted is not from Leedroid so theres your 1st problem. Unless you made more than just 6 png changes.

It could be that the base of the framework is from leedroid, but i added a theme to it (think it is NexTang-DJDroid).
used it for about a month w/o problems, then i changed 6 files in the framework. And nothing works anymore ._.
can you try flashing the stock leedroid fw-res.apk to see if you get out of the bootloop? if you can do that, then at least you have a fallback plan.
and instead of flashing it, try using:
Code:
adb mount
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
I have never had any problems doing it that way.
I had the same problems. But i tried to make a flashable zip file and this work very fine..
And remeber you can not just replace a 9.png file maybe this is your fault?

Same thing happened to me!
I Wiped Cache, Dalvik Cache, but nothing happened!
I had to flash 2.3.6 Stock ROM via Odin, to make my phone work!
In several places in the forums I see DSP manager mentioned as a way to change the sound output from the phone.
It is possible to use the .apk file or flash the .zip file to a stock firmware that is rooted (no other changes), or does it have to be applied to a custom rom?
Ta.
Here you go...
http://www.multiupload.com/7VS5O9KKQ0
Flash as you would a ROM
Hmm, I flashed it and the settings appeared, but they seem to make no difference to the sound output!
Trying via headphones? As I doubt you'd notice from the internal speaker
Other than that I can't help, have no issues personally
Yep, trying via headphones. Seems to make no difference at all. I am running a stock rooted HTC Rom.

For anyone else having this problem:
I didn't find the app I installed so I searched the net for other installation files, and found this:
h ttp://androidforums.com/1446319-post107.html
after I flashed this and rebooted, I got a 'force close' notification for the app. Than I went to /system/app/DSPManager.apk and installed it.
DSP Manager now working great ^^
I did as u said but it gives me a force close and when i try to install it i cant cause its already installed, cant uninstall it either, what should i do ? BTW I'm using AuraxTSense v7.4
did you install the one in the second post as well?
I'm using AuraxTSense 7.0
Yes, first I installed that one, it didn't work, then I installed the other. Is that the problem ? I thought so... so how should I fix it ?
good question..I'm not sure.. try installing the first again
Ok I did it, it removed the app from the app list. What now ? If I try installing it from /system/app it gives an error.
I don't know.. i just rebooted my device and it gave me the force close again. so I did what I did the previous time and ran that app from the location I wrote.. worked like a charm.. again..

I installed the other zip again, gave me a force close so went to system/app and tried to install it but I can't, only have the options uninstall and launch... No idea why is it working for you and not for me...
EDIT: Ok it works now, had to remove first the odex file and install the other zip again
Update DSP Manager
You can remove the DSPManager.apk file using the terminal emulator.
NOTE: You need to have a rooted phone, Superuser & Terminal emulator.
STEPS
1. Change to root user it is granted super-user permissions.
su -2. Then change to the system app directory.
cd /system/app3. Then move the DSPManager.apk to the tmp directory.
mv DSPManager.apk /tmp4. Move the new apk file to the system app directory.
NOTE: Change to the directory where the DSPManager_1.0.apk is.
cp DSPManager_1.0.apk /system/app5. Reboot the phone.
6. Check in the apps list and the new DSP Manager should be in there.
NOTE: If it all worked you can remove the DSPManager.apk from /tmp
rm /tmp/DSPManager.apk
Attached is the version I use on my rooted HTC Desire.
In order to work, DSP Manager also needs a file called libaudioflinger.so in the /system/lib directory in addition to the apk.
The easy way to get this done is to use an update zip for DSP Manager. Get it from one of these links (all links from this page):

I don't think you can install the zip from Astro Explorer because it needs to copy files to the /system partition which is read-only when the phone is booted up. In other words, you must have a rooted phone to do this.
If you do have a rooted phone, then reboot into recovery mode and install the update.zip the usual way.
If you don't have a rooted phone, well that's a whole different story.
i , please help me.
I've installed it via recovery and I made backup with my original needly files: libaudioflinger and libaudio. Then i copied my files back (deleted new files and moved old files) . I restarted my phone and it didn't boot. Just show me the White window (T-mobile)... Can i repair my phone by myself? Please help me and sorry for my english.

I'm sorry I don't really understand the problem. Normally, installing the update.zip should be all that you need to do. I don't understand why you copied the old files back and were those two files the only files that you backed up?

You've got it wrong. Systemless root isn't the reason system is not writable. The same will occur with traditional root.
The system is write protected on this device (regardless of root method). You need the kernel mode to disable the write protection.

No, it won't work. Kernels (and therefore kernel mods) are device specific. It won't work, and may harm your phone.
If the phone is rooted, you can try to mount system in a file explorer app, and apply the desired changes, to see if they stick (survive a reboot). Some folks have had success with that approach.
Be careful, and backup files accordingly. Or otherwise know how to return to stock, if anything goes wrong. Changes to system under root can result in unpredicted problems.
Further than that, I probably can't help; as I have no specific knowledge of your device.

Well if you mean like accessing and editing system files I'm not how to do edit them but I know that you can use a app like root explore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.explorer that's the free version the paid one is $3.99 in the US. With that you can move and add files to system folder you can edit permission of files and things of that nature.

Well system file is where all the data and software is at basically everything visible on the phone. Maybe this article could help it deals with modifying samsung rom and flashing it. If you want to read more on it here's the link: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/85703/modifying-samsung-rom-and-flashing-it-on-a-device if you wanted to remove apps or add custom apps to your phone you would modify system file.
But what I thought was important was this;
(I did not write this thread)
< "You should be able to use an archive program on PC and recompress to .tar, .gz, and others. Dont forget to re-sign the archive. Keep a copy of your untouched ROM until you have the modified ROM tested and running.
The ROMs are signed with a signature. When repacking if they don't get signed they will fail in flashing. This link will help explain it.
So basically after downloading the firmware you have to rename it so you can extract the files, change them as you need, recompress them again and re-sign them, so you can flash them using Odin." >
This thread was dealing with modifying CM rom;
< "There are multiple solutions available:
Re-Zip the Image
Advantage: You do it once, and can use the resulting image for multiple devices. That's what I did with CM7.2 for my Milestone 2. Easy enough to do:
create a temporary (empty) folder
unzip the zip file to it
remove unwanted *.apk files from /system/apps (be careful of what you remove, of course)
zip up the directory contents again
Using a graphical ZIP manager (like WinZip or the like), steps would be even easier:
open the zip file with the archive manager
remove the unwanted .apk files
if the ZIP manager requires it, save the manipulated zip
Manually cleanup after flashing, using the shell
This is what ce4 recommended in the comments. It requires you using a terminal emulator on your device:
Flash the image as-is
remove superfluous stuff from the system partition by hand (like rm /system/big/junk/example.mp4)
Manually cleanup after flashing, using other tools
Almost the same as the previous method, but a bit more user-friendly. Disadvantage: this won't do for superflous ringtones and the like:
Flash the image as-is
Use a tool like Titanium Backup or Root Uninstaller to remove unwanted system apps" >
Edit: this link explains the signature of the file: (from google) https://code.google.com/archive/p/zip-signer/

Ok so I may have found a solution for you it requires a pc and to download a program. You'll need your rom and any apps you would like to insert into it. The program is as simple as right click and delete for any apps you want to remove. The program is made by a developer on XDA named "_Logie" here's the link to the Web page: http://m.tech.firstpost.com/news-analysis/how-to-add-or-remove-apps-from-a-custom-rom-101986.html and the link to the program is on there or here's the direct link: http://www.solidfiles.com/d/da2dd6335d/
This program compiles the ROM into a .zip if you have TWRP recovery you could do a backup of your previous rom before flashing your current one because you'll have to completely wipe every main partition before flashing new rom to ensure you don't run into problems
Edit: backup system, data, and cache because those are the ones you'll need to wipe also before wiping them just in case I would remove any password that locks your phone because if you try to flash a new rom and fails and your left with the recovery file it'll mess up the password, fingerprints will be forget and backup password will be unchangeable and will require a factory reset to be able to change it.

Hmmmmm ? I think you want to change the boot animation (white Verizon logo red background? ) if so your gonna need to either need to flash a pre-made zip with Flashfire (can't seem to get it to apply from twrp) or your gonna need to manually copy into the appropriate directory (mount system directory r/w copy then change permissions of the file you copied to 644 and reboot) presumably with a root explorer though doable from terminal

Try flashing with flasfire enabling the option mount system r/w and use common paths (probably not necessary but won't hurt) I have had difficulty getting anything other than ROM and gapps to apply from twrp but flashfire seems to work . I'm thinking its due to the fact that flashfire flashes after boot loader and then resets prior to os load.
Anyone made the Measure app work on their OP3?
I'm also having problems what's brought me here. I was trying different versions and nothing works :/
Yep, works perfectly fine here. Do other AR Core apps work for you?
Actually I have a problem with installing AR Core itself, do you have a link to proper version?
Also can't get it to work. I tried a few different versions of the ARCore apk now, but when opening the measure app all I get is different error messages.

Do you have a OnePlus 3 or 3T?
I've had ARC running earlier, but can't get the Measure app to work. I can install both APKs, but I get error when starting the Measure app.

I have the 3.
What I did was the following:
1) Download and install the latest ARCore apk from apkmirror: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/arcore/arcore-1-3-180604066-release/
2) Sideload an ARCore-enabled app like Just a Line or IKEA Place (again, from APK Mirror) and launch it so it crashes the first time.
3) Using a root explorer, go to /data/data/com.google.ar.core/files/device_profile_database/ and find the file for the OnePlus 3T (it will have "OnePlus3T" in its name).
4) Rename/Remove the "T" from "OnePlus3T" in the file name.
5) Launch an ARCore-enabled app again and it should work flawlessly.

... or it replies to you then with the error: " This device does not support AR" instead of hanging at start ^^
Fobos531´s instructions seem to work well for me. I can use the measure app now. Though I'm not yet sure how exact it is. Haven't had much time yet for testing it.
For reference, I've got OP3 (not T) running NitrogenOS 8.1
Fixed, I completely kicked ARCore APK and reinstalled. Now it works. AR Stickers does not, but I think that I use the wrong APK...

Can you try manually creating the file in that case? Create a "files" folder, inside create a folder named "device_profile_database" and inside that folder create a file named "device_profile_OnePlus3_colon_8.textproto" (make sure .textproto is the extension). Put this in the file: https://gist.github.com/fobos531/64cd45838ffb6a143a83306882d208b6
Also the file should have read+write permissions only for the owner (you can do "chmod 600 /data/data/com.google.ar.core/files/device_profile_database/device_profile_OnePlus3_colon_8.textproto") to achieve this.

Same happened to me. Problem was a too old apk (didn't use the version from the download link above at first, thought I had the right one)
Sure you used that one?

This works well for me.
I have the Skulshady's ARCore before. I uninstall it and install the latest version from apkmiror, then follow this guide and works fine.
Thanks @Fobos531 , your way works for me like a charm. OOS 5.0.3 with Magisk. Installed ArCore 1.3 from apkmirror, then Ikea app, let it crash one time, edited the filename and everything works now.
i installed the lasr ar core from apk mirror,
and downloaded measures from play store
and i didnt do anything else
and its working fine.

If you are able to download measure app from play store then it means, your phone supports this, you don't need to do anything else
