Hi friends;
I have HTC M8 Marshmallow with Sense 7.
I rooted my device with SuperSU 2.65.
But;
I can't edit build.prob file in system folder.
I can't put apk and lib files to system->priv-app folder.
In fact ;
I edited build.prob file in system folder. (I used Root Explorer)
I put apk and lib files to system->priv-app folder.
But, after I rebooted device edited build.prob file returned original and
deleted apk and lib file that I put to system->priv-app folder.
Before these applications I mounted system folder R/W
Why did this happen?
How can i solve this?

Because super su is system less root, you won't be able to edit the system files. I don't even know how that mod worked

You can't edit system files while your device s-on,you need wp module or custom kernel with wp module to edit system
Some m8 roms have this module implemented ( if not all roms )

You've got it wrong. Systemless root isn't the reason system is not writable. The same will occur with traditional root.
The system is write protected on this device (regardless of root method). You need the kernel mode to disable the write protection.

No, it won't work. Kernels (and therefore kernel mods) are device specific. It won't work, and may harm your phone.
If the phone is rooted, you can try to mount system in a file explorer app, and apply the desired changes, to see if they stick (survive a reboot). Some folks have had success with that approach.
Be careful, and backup files accordingly. Or otherwise know how to return to stock, if anything goes wrong. Changes to system under root can result in unpredicted problems.
Further than that, I probably can't help; as I have no specific knowledge of your device.

In several places in the forums I see DSP manager mentioned as a way to change the sound output from the phone.
It is possible to use the .apk file or flash the .zip file to a stock firmware that is rooted (no other changes), or does it have to be applied to a custom rom?
Ta.
Here you go...
http://www.multiupload.com/7VS5O9KKQ0
Flash as you would a ROM
Hmm, I flashed it and the settings appeared, but they seem to make no difference to the sound output!
Trying via headphones? As I doubt you'd notice from the internal speaker
Other than that I can't help, have no issues personally
Yep, trying via headphones. Seems to make no difference at all. I am running a stock rooted HTC Rom.
Hi, I flashed the DSP from recovery and rebooted. Installation was successful but I can't find the app anywhere in my phone? where do I see it?

For anyone else having this problem:
I didn't find the app I installed so I searched the net for other installation files, and found this:
h ttp://androidforums.com/1446319-post107.html
after I flashed this and rebooted, I got a 'force close' notification for the app. Than I went to /system/app/DSPManager.apk and installed it.
DSP Manager now working great ^^
I did as u said but it gives me a force close and when i try to install it i cant cause its already installed, cant uninstall it either, what should i do ? BTW I'm using AuraxTSense v7.4
did you install the one in the second post as well?
I'm using AuraxTSense 7.0
Yes, first I installed that one, it didn't work, then I installed the other. Is that the problem ? I thought so... so how should I fix it ?
good question..I'm not sure.. try installing the first again
Ok I did it, it removed the app from the app list. What now ? If I try installing it from /system/app it gives an error.
I don't know.. i just rebooted my device and it gave me the force close again. so I did what I did the previous time and ran that app from the location I wrote.. worked like a charm.. again..

I installed the other zip again, gave me a force close so went to system/app and tried to install it but I can't, only have the options uninstall and launch... No idea why is it working for you and not for me...
EDIT: Ok it works now, had to remove first the odex file and install the other zip again
Update DSP Manager
You can remove the DSPManager.apk file using the terminal emulator.
NOTE: You need to have a rooted phone, Superuser & Terminal emulator.
STEPS
1. Change to root user it is granted super-user permissions.
su -2. Then change to the system app directory.
cd /system/app3. Then move the DSPManager.apk to the tmp directory.
mv DSPManager.apk /tmp4. Move the new apk file to the system app directory.
NOTE: Change to the directory where the DSPManager_1.0.apk is.
cp DSPManager_1.0.apk /system/app5. Reboot the phone.
6. Check in the apps list and the new DSP Manager should be in there.
NOTE: If it all worked you can remove the DSPManager.apk from /tmp
rm /tmp/DSPManager.apk
Attached is the version I use on my rooted HTC Desire.
In order to work, DSP Manager also needs a file called libaudioflinger.so in the /system/lib directory in addition to the apk.
The easy way to get this done is to use an update zip for DSP Manager. Get it from one of these links (all links from this page):

I don't think you can install the zip from Astro Explorer because it needs to copy files to the /system partition which is read-only when the phone is booted up. In other words, you must have a rooted phone to do this.
If you do have a rooted phone, then reboot into recovery mode and install the update.zip the usual way.
If you don't have a rooted phone, well that's a whole different story.
i , please help me.
I've installed it via recovery and I made backup with my original needly files: libaudioflinger and libaudio. Then i copied my files back (deleted new files and moved old files) . I restarted my phone and it didn't boot. Just show me the White window (T-mobile)... Can i repair my phone by myself? Please help me and sorry for my english.

I'm sorry I don't really understand the problem. Normally, installing the update.zip should be all that you need to do. I don't understand why you copied the old files back and were those two files the only files that you backed up?
Hi, I am currently using stock JB with a couple of mods/extras i managed to link in via the kitchen. But frustratingly so I cannot change the boot image and are hoping with appreciation someone in here can direct me. So far I have tried everything I am capable of. That is from within the kitchen enabling the function which is suppose to allow you to change your boot animation. Although it gives you the tick and creates a different directory for your boot animation this still doesn't work. I have tried replacing hTC_boot_one.zip file but does not work. Whenever i do replace or alter that file the boot starts as normal with white htc and then goes to black with android with a back light rolling from side to side, like kit in night rider. I also have tried flashing Mattmans-Boot-Animation which uses aroma installer. Still didnt work and as far as I know it just added the file in system/customize/resource/. There appears to be a command file preventing any changes internally in stock. Really appreciate and hope someone can help. Thanks in advance......happy new years.....:good:

Have you mounted system as rw? In root explorer you just press the button, not sure on other apps, and have you set the right permissions? rw-r--r-- to match everything else in system/customize/resource.

If system is mounted as ro (read only) you can't change anything in the folder, this is the default setting I think and it needs to be mounted as rw to allow changes.
You could try to rename something in the system directory and if it doesn't actually change then you need to change it, or check if the filesize of the boot animation you replace changes.
Like I said, rootexplorer app changes it with a tap of the button, not sure what else to use

Thanks again. No problem renaming any file within system so I guess it is mounted as rw. As to file size, i have tried different file sizes and identical file sizes to the hTC_boot_one.zip file. I have even tried using the same Zip file and just replacing with different images. Making sure to end up with the same values. Nothing seems to work.
Strange, I had rooted stock Rom and it worked fine, maybe you have the wrong format of files or haven't zipped as store only, no compression. I assume it is a sense one x Rom?

I DO NOT TAKE CREDIT FOR THE WORK. I ONLY TRANSLATED THE SCRIPTS TO ENGLISH .
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK OR BREAK YOUR FUJITSU.
I have managed to find a bat file which will allow you to root your F-02E japanese phone.
I have also found a script to allow system R/W made by kikuhare
Steps Involved:
Make sure your phone has 100% charge.
Download the Root + System Mount
Extract the zip's to different folders.
Enable USB debugging under Menu > Settings > Developer Options.
Point to the folder where you extracted drivers from "usb_driver_F-02E_1.0.zip". Wait for drivers to install.
Make sure the phone is connected as PTP not MTP.
CMD into the folder "f-02e_oneclick_su_installer". It is inside the "Root + System Mount_1" files folder.
Run the runme.bat.
Download "Root Checker by joeykrim" from the Play Store.
Run the "Root Checker" app
Wait for the process to finish.
UPDATE System R/W
Connect phone to computer
Download the System Read Write Mounter_1.zip <<<<<< Only need to download if you did not download the "Root + System Mount_1.zip" file.
CMD into the "F-02E_system-mounter" It is inside the "Root + System Mount_1" files folder.
Extract the file and run the"START.bat"
Run everytime the system restarts to mount system as R/W.
Enjoy root .
NOTE: This method does not give full root permissions. You will still be able to underclock the CPU to some degree and use the CoreControl app to disable cores. I will have to run start.bat inside F-02E_system-mounter folder everytime the phone restarts to get system R/W
Drivers: usb_driver_F-02E_1.0.zip
Root Includes System Mount: Root + System Mount_1.zip
System R/W Mounter: System Read Write Mounter_1.zip

I have just frozen them, just incase if the phone needs the at somepoint. Xposed framework doesnt work as it need system R/W and the root method has not allowed system R/W mainly because the phone bootloader not unlocked. Secondly make sure you do not uninstall/disable the Phonebook and Phonebook Service provided by Docomo. Its key to allowing you to add and sync contacts.
So Xposed wont work at all then, thats a shame what about lucky patcher, does that need R/W?

Improved the .bat file. Now you will have system R/W
Download the root file again and run it. Follow the steps starting at 10 if you have already rooted. :good:

I have not been able to overcome the issue. It is a design issue. Because it is waterproof phone the heat cannot disperse.
The only thing I have been able to do is keep the CPU frequency down to lower the time it takes for the phone to heat up.

Well if you mean like accessing and editing system files I'm not how to do edit them but I know that you can use a app like root explore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.explorer that's the free version the paid one is $3.99 in the US. With that you can move and add files to system folder you can edit permission of files and things of that nature.

With that you can move and add files to system folder you can edit permission of files and things of that nature.

Ah ok, so I found these two threads related to the subject one is for repackaging ODIN files if your using a Samsung: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549712&page=5 and the other is a general tutorial on custom roms https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195858 Also this article covers mostly everything about creating and installing ROMS http://lazydroid.com/2011/03/howto-repack-and-sign-rom-image-update-zip-files/ I hope this information helps I do not know much about creating or repackaging roms

Well system file is where all the data and software is at basically everything visible on the phone. Maybe this article could help it deals with modifying samsung rom and flashing it. If you want to read more on it here's the link: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/85703/modifying-samsung-rom-and-flashing-it-on-a-device if you wanted to remove apps or add custom apps to your phone you would modify system file.
But what I thought was important was this;
(I did not write this thread)
< "You should be able to use an archive program on PC and recompress to .tar, .gz, and others. Dont forget to re-sign the archive. Keep a copy of your untouched ROM until you have the modified ROM tested and running.
The ROMs are signed with a signature. When repacking if they don't get signed they will fail in flashing. This link will help explain it.
So basically after downloading the firmware you have to rename it so you can extract the files, change them as you need, recompress them again and re-sign them, so you can flash them using Odin." >
This thread was dealing with modifying CM rom;
< "There are multiple solutions available:
Re-Zip the Image
Advantage: You do it once, and can use the resulting image for multiple devices. That's what I did with CM7.2 for my Milestone 2. Easy enough to do:
create a temporary (empty) folder
unzip the zip file to it
remove unwanted *.apk files from /system/apps (be careful of what you remove, of course)
zip up the directory contents again
Using a graphical ZIP manager (like WinZip or the like), steps would be even easier:
open the zip file with the archive manager
remove the unwanted .apk files
if the ZIP manager requires it, save the manipulated zip
Manually cleanup after flashing, using the shell
This is what ce4 recommended in the comments. It requires you using a terminal emulator on your device:
Flash the image as-is
remove superfluous stuff from the system partition by hand (like rm /system/big/junk/example.mp4)
Manually cleanup after flashing, using other tools
Almost the same as the previous method, but a bit more user-friendly. Disadvantage: this won't do for superflous ringtones and the like:
Flash the image as-is
Use a tool like Titanium Backup or Root Uninstaller to remove unwanted system apps" >
Edit: this link explains the signature of the file: (from google) https://code.google.com/archive/p/zip-signer/

Ok so I may have found a solution for you it requires a pc and to download a program. You'll need your rom and any apps you would like to insert into it. The program is as simple as right click and delete for any apps you want to remove. The program is made by a developer on XDA named "_Logie" here's the link to the Web page: http://m.tech.firstpost.com/news-analysis/how-to-add-or-remove-apps-from-a-custom-rom-101986.html and the link to the program is on there or here's the direct link: http://www.solidfiles.com/d/da2dd6335d/
This program compiles the ROM into a .zip if you have TWRP recovery you could do a backup of your previous rom before flashing your current one because you'll have to completely wipe every main partition before flashing new rom to ensure you don't run into problems
Edit: backup system, data, and cache because those are the ones you'll need to wipe also before wiping them just in case I would remove any password that locks your phone because if you try to flash a new rom and fails and your left with the recovery file it'll mess up the password, fingerprints will be forget and backup password will be unchangeable and will require a factory reset to be able to change it.

Hmmmmm ? I think you want to change the boot animation (white Verizon logo red background? ) if so your gonna need to either need to flash a pre-made zip with Flashfire (can't seem to get it to apply from twrp) or your gonna need to manually copy into the appropriate directory (mount system directory r/w copy then change permissions of the file you copied to 644 and reboot) presumably with a root explorer though doable from terminal

Try flashing with flasfire enabling the option mount system r/w and use common paths (probably not necessary but won't hurt) I have had difficulty getting anything other than ROM and gapps to apply from twrp but flashfire seems to work . I'm thinking its due to the fact that flashfire flashes after boot loader and then resets prior to os load.
Until TWRP is available for this device, root must be done by flashing patched boot image via fastboot. I'm still in the waiting period for the bootloader unlocking, but I prepared files in the meantime. Maybe someone will find them useful. Attached are stock boot and patched image with Magisk 21.1, EEA ROM version. Just unzip them and flash from fastboot.
Full version: V12.0.6.0.QJSEUXM_20201117
Edit: patched boot image reuploaded, the previous one didn't work (at least on my phone). This one has been tested and is working fine.
hello,
having the EEA version 12.0.6.0, as a boot patch can I immediately give the modded boot, in fastboot?

You can flash patched boot image directly, or just hotboot it (fastboot boot patched_image.img) and install Magisk from Magisk manager.
hello,
I did and at the moment everything is ok.
thanks
but there is a strange thing, Mixplorer, it does not change the permissions of the files, yet it has root permissions
I think the root is not perfect, I can't change the permissions of the files

Which files on which partition with what kind of permissions? RO partitions must be remounted as RW, but it's not always possible and using Magisk is usually a better and safer approach.
hello
let's talk about system partition files how can I remount as RO?
using Mixplorer, if I click comeback as RO, it tells me failed

I keep my system partition RO so I can apply OTA updates, so I haven't tried it. You could try another app (for example Total commander), but you will be probably out of luck because of Android 10 limitation. Read more detailed explanation here https://android.stackexchange.com/q...m-partition-locked-to-read-only-in-android-10
I would suggest using Magisk module for system modifications.
hi
i tried other app manager like root explorer and es explorer, but the result is the same. i also installed magiskhideprops module, but my phone is not supported as fingerprint yet
What are you trying to achieve?
the terminal command to try to mount as RO would you know?

Why don't you do it with a Magisk module? Once you install a module, you can edit it directly in /data/adb/modules folder.
i read android 10 problem, would you recommend me to mount with termux, installing vim?

If you know how to edit system mixer files, you should be able to build your own module (or adapt one of the existing ones). But of course it's up to you, I'm just offering a well known and working solution to your problem.
