Is it possible to change D852 to D855? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm new to LG.
I got LG G3 D852 model but it does not support LTE band in my area.
Is there anyway to convert it to D855 or D850?
Please give me a suggession

up......

You can use the BlackSoulsxxx MM port, which is a d855 port and makes your phone call itself a d855. However, I really don't think it will give you additional basebands.
The basebands available are a result of the radio in your phone and if your phone lacks the hardware, you're SOL. Also, I'm pretty sure the port still uses the lollipop modem.
In any case, if I were you, I'd give it a go. If nothing else you get the general improvements that come with MM and UX4.0.

[Q] [Question] Parts compatibility between SU640 and LU6200

I have a broken SU640 with a fried board. I wanted to know if the board of an LU6200 is compatible with the rest of the SU640 ie screen, antenna, etc. I know that the NFC would no longer work and the carrier bands would be different but its ok since my carrier can support both phones. Any enlightenment on this topic would be much appreciated.
no idea u could try calling LG but they will most likely tell you its not even if it is just to be safe

[Q] Unlocked LG G3 - F400 vs D855

Unfortunately LG has been quiet about launching an unlocked version of the G3 in the US.
Assuming there wont be an Unlocked US model, which one would be better: Korean F400 model or Asia D855 (both 32GB)?
I'm guessing D855 should have less bloat than an unlocked F400 from Korean carriers and perhaps slightly better screen tuning (European/International version is also D855). Suggestions?

Korean Model can pick up ATT LTE and I was able to run hotspot apps without rooting or hacking anything. That and the Antennae was a huge plus for me lol
Any other difference?

Im not sure of the radio bands but the Korean model does have a lot of Korean left once you switch it to English. Kind of annoying like in the dialer.

Thanks. Since both F400 and D855 support my carrier's 3G/LTE bands it all comes down to the other differences likes pre-installed software, screen calibration/tuning and others.
I wonder if anyone tried different G3 models - Korean, European and/or US and would be kind to post some impressions.
question
the f400 and d855 are the same size? found some nice back covers on aliexpress but it says only corean version f400 but they are all the same size no?

[Q] Lollipop for VS985?

I just got the G3 a couple days ago. I had the G2, and now that I'm on the G3 forums trying to figure things out. It is going to take a learning curve again, also because I was on ATT and now I'm Verizon.
I've gathered that the 855 is the International model, but do any of the Lollipop 855 ROM's work with the VS985 that isn't CM12? I at least have Cloudy running on my phone again, so I was at least able to figure out Bump and rooting.
Thanks for the help!

Due to the way it's signed, I believe you have to use ROMs bumped for your particular phone model. You are on the same model as me (VS985), so we can only use ROMs for VS985.
Go to these forums which are specific to our model (VS985 - Verizon G3) -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3
In the Development forum, there are a lot of ROMs specific to the VS985.

LG G3 variants need quick answer please...

Hi. I am thinking of getting an LG G3. Unfortunately, all the local variants for sale are the D852. What I need is either the D851 (tmobile) or D852G (Videotron). I need Aws band 4 (1700/2100).
I've been searching around and found this interesting thread:
http://forums.redflagdeals.com/can-lg-g3-d852-work-wind-mobilicity-1720993/
Which says it's possible and somebody has actually done it. But I have my doubts.
So my question is: Is the North American LG G3 physically the same phone for all variants, but is just firmware locked to work on certain frequencies. Or are they physically different (ie. different antennas tuned to certain frequencies)?
If it's the latter and it has specially tuned antennas, it may work on aws band 4 but signal strength would be weaker? I'm not an engineer so I'm just guessing.
Thanks.

LG G3 Models : which one should I buy for using Custom ROMs?

Hi Guys,
I am willing to buy a mid-range smartphone. I have some options like Moto G, Honor 5X, One Plus X etc. But, I want to go with the LG G3 to try my luck., as It'll be upgraded to Marshmallow. I am not sure if I am doing the right thing or not. I need your experienced advice on that.
But, I also can see there are several models of LG G3 here in US:
LG G3 D855 - International Version
LG G3 D851 - T-mobile, US
LG G3 D850 - AT&T, US
LG G3 LS990 - Sprint, US
LG G3 VS985 - Verizon, US
I would like to use it both inside and outside of US. So, if I buy the International version, will I get the 4G LTE support in US? Can I root it and install Custom ROMS in it? Because, I googled it, and I saw, Only, T-mobile version comes with Unlocked Boot-loader. Is it true?
Please, let me know, And, it would be great, if you suggest me some better place to buy this phone online. Thanks in advance.

Check gsm lte bands are listed there for each model. Although the international model has the most custom rom support and has an fm radio. And nop there are no bootloader issues with the g3.

Thanks I think I'll go with the International version.
beware of fake D855s and you will not get LTE coverage, at least with AT&T. For these reasons I went with the 851. Good luck
No LTE on the d855 in the USA. Although it really is the best version to go with, be aware of that. In the USA at least, you'll mostly run on HDSAP+ which really is fast enough for a mobile in my opinion. (Usually from 7 to 21 Mb/s)
