Hey everyone,
Recently my device is very slow. I downloaded the app CPU-Z and my surprise that 5 of 6 cores are not working.
Notably, the device is not on battery saving mode.
H815 Android 5.1 no rooted.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it? Because it is nearly impossible to use the device.
Thanks
Cores 5 and 6 is for Big Cpu and they will enable only when it need
If you are sure that it not work try Download Kernel adiutor then in cpu settings click on the checkbox cpu cores

I have been using Yureka for few days and see that cpu cores are always on, irrespective of load. Is anyone working on a kernel which can shutdown 4-6 cores when idle or when screen off? I think this would be great for batter.
Try Cpu Tuner, it has options for profiles and to turn off CPU cores after digging into some settings to enable it as far as i remember.
I am using it. However, the current kernel (as well as Sandy) does not support core shutdown so none of the apps have this option. CPU tuner will scale down frequencies to what i want but all 8 cores are always running.
Like this?
How did you shut down the cores please tell us..

Can you share your configuration from CPU Tuner? I can't any option in cpu tuner to shut down cores. Only governors and their affinity settings.

"Simple and Powerful" Config with "Power User" profile.
My CPU tuner was working in non power user mode . Thanks for the info. I can control cpu cores now.
Now only if someone makes a kernel with more governors and automatically shut down cores on low usage . It seem cpu tuner only allows me to set number of cores for a profile.

If I am wrong correct me, if I have understood what you are trying to say, you most probably wish to use the feature where the idle cpu cores are shutdown once the load is not that much.
In my knowledge, that's 'Hotplugging' right ?? coz it more or less does the same function. Try installing some custom kernel that provide you with some really good hotplugging governers. And coz the development for yureka is really in it's full form, there have been few kernels that have been posted in the "Original Android Development" section of our xda forums. Try going through them, you will find what you are looking for !

Yes sir, hotplugging kernel is what i am looking for. Last time i checked, there was just Sandy kernel which did not had this. It seems there are a couple more now . I will give them a shot and update.

Dear Friends,
I am using Mokee Lolipop Nightly version in my Redmi 1S.
I need help for the following points :
1) In MKL when i try to disable mpdecision via ADB, nothing is happening and not even by external app like No Frills cpu control I'm able to control max frequency of my cpu.
It is constantly showing 998 MHz only. Earlier in mokee kitkat i was using no frills cpu control and it was working very fine. But not working in lolipop as expected. How to solve that.
2) I have seen in previews and videos that mokee lolipop is having inbuilt super user. But i am unable to see it in my setting menu.
However i am able to get root access via "Privacy Guard" setting in lolipop and that is working well. Comment on that.
Kindly answer me and increase my knowledge on this.

Use the Release version.
I think it is a thermal script which doesn't allow to do so.
I have noticed that when I have enabled performance option in battery settings(by default it is balanced) I can change the max CPU to 1.6 GHz
However if it is in performance mode but if my CPU temperature is high I cannot change it until the phone cools down.
So I guess if you keep it in performance mode it will automatically set cpu according to your phone's temperature.
Hmm....... May be thermal throttling is responsible
It is reportedly not working on the hydrogen model
Dear Friends i saw online one mod which will be of benefit to all of
Mpdecision is watching the load on your device! When you´re only doing simple stuff like browsing, texting or listening to music, the mpdecision service will completely shutdown single cpu cores to reduce power consumption. When you start games or other heavy processes, mpdecision will bring back online all your cores!
You can download Apps like CPU-Z to monitor your CPU Core Status! With mpdecision Service enabled, you can see that some of the CPU Cores go on- and offline. Without mpdecision all Cores are allways online.
It has been developed by the developers at mi-globe com and you can download the mod there

I am using it on my helium and it is working.

Can i know are you using GlobeRom for it to work and the same Rom version....does flash this will change anything with the rom...
That I am not sure. I am using the Globe rom and it is inbuilt mod in that rom. I dont know if you flash this mod on other roms. May be you can contact the developers.
Hmm.never heard of this ROM. Is it any good? Like what do they mean by battery tweaks..the info is a little vague...

If you go the link i have given you will be clear
On a cleanly installed globeROM Helium with nothing else on it except cpu-z, after several minutes, the governor changes suddenly to performance mode and sets all online cores to the highest clock speed and sometimes stays there for good even after several reboots. It shuts down some cores but the over-all cpu load becomes so high that it drains the battery so fast and heats up the phone a little while even idle. If the governor changes to performance mode, the govtuner mod becomes useless and incompatible and can never be run unless governor goes back to interactive mode. I use Kernel Adiutor to control cpu problems a little but I have to check once in a while because it still happens and I have to manually set governor back to interactive mode again through Kernel Adiutor. So it is useless for now. I hope they fix it as mpdecision is dong wonders on other snapdragon 650-652 phones like the Samsung A9 Pro.

Not Working on hydrogen ROM:- xiaomi.EU 6.11.17
Help me
See the screenshots
I am attaching some screen shots. Obviously it is working as two cores stopped. As soon as I wake up the device I could see for a brief second all cores stopped and they start as the device is woken up.

confirmed on GlobeROM web that mpdecision is not supported on Hydrogen. Maybe OP can edit the title to avoid confusion and error

So Now?
Guys, I tried it on my helium, but didn't work. If you would turn off 2 cores, you can download ex kernel manager and tap on "esacore mode"

Hello, in my device running Exynos 5420. This cpu have 8 cores. Why when I running cpu-z app it shows only 4 cores - 0,1,2,3 cores. Where another 4 (Cortex A7)?
I attached screenshot.

It's all the same everywhere ... I guess that's because KK and LL don't have the ability to use and control 8 cores at the same time ... The A7 small cores actually start working when system is doing demanding tasks ... As a Kernel Dev , I can confirm that the appropriate Drivers are implemented for both A7 and A15 Processors ... So , It should be just that the current Android Arch is not that compatible with 8 Core Control ... I guess It was said that in Nougat , the New arch does support full 8 Core control ... But , So far I haven't faced such features in related threads and i don't want to make you think that it would be GREAT to control 8 cores because currently TW's source does it by itself ... I hope it was helpful to you ...
With Best Wishes

underclocked can go to 300mhz both big and little.
you mean a hotplug.. when not in use all cores off then whn input turn on... unfortunatelly theres no hotplug for 636.. as they say in kernel settings balme qualcomm
