KGL rk3066 freezes and does not get into recovery screen - MTCB Android Head Units Q&A

Hello, friends.
My HU was working fine with latest Malaysk rom. But suddenly the HU keeps stuck in boot screen, with android logo (Malaysk mod), as in a loop or something like this.
I don't know why it happened, but now is impossible to access recovery screen to try wipe ans reinstall firmware. The combination reset+pwr button does not work anymore.
Could somebody help? Suggestions?
Best regards
Paulo

Also having similar issues with my 3188 with the latest Malaysk ROM. I need to get into recovery so I can flash something else!
When I get into recovery I can't see anything on the screen and the lights on the side of my radio just pulsate light blue until I restart the unit.
Everything was fine for a couple days after I flashed, and out of nowhere I start having these issues...

Black screen on recovery

Hey all. Just recently, or the last few times I've tried to back up my rom to try another, when my phone goes into recovery, I just get a black screen and therefore can't see what's going on. Does the same when I flash another rom but it still flashes, so I'll get my rom, but I just can't see what's going on. I thought it was my version of recovery but I tried another version and it did the same. Any ideas?
Thanks all.

It seems the problem is with recovery, right?
Have you tried reinstalling the recovery via rom manager?
As in reflashing CWM? I just tried it yeah, same results.

Is the screen completely black? Do you see any backlight?
Try 4ext recovery

Sorry for the late reply, had no internet access. Bootloader is also blackscreened, and 4Ext doesn't work...
Hi, I have same problem.. Black screen in recovery and during the boot. When the system boots, screen is OK. Sometimes i have also blackscreen when I want to use HW keyboard. I tried 4ext, reflash older versions of CW but still the same. I can see a screen through Android Screen Monitor and I can cotrol it. But phone is blak, only backlight. Can somebody say, how to solve this issue? Thanks
I have exact the same problem as described here. My bootloader and recovery screen stays black without backlight but with lighted capacitive buttons. I tried different versions of CWM and 4EXT and the problems is the same. During normal boot and phone usage the screen if fine.
I can't exactly recall when it started to happen, but I could flash CM nightly 263 without these problems and two days ago I found the problem about the black screen.
Anybody here has a possible solution to this problem?

Does anyone have an answer to this? I bought a Desire Z off eBay - as far as I can tell it's stock - and this problem is driving me nuts. I also get an issue where sometimes the phone won't wake up straight away and I have to press the on/off switch quite a few times - the lights come on at the bottom of the screen but the screen stays black. The phone also won't wake properly if I slide it to wake it. However, it feels like a software issue rather than (say) a screen hardware issue as if I plug a charger in to wake the phone up, it does so immediately, every time.
Please, please help! I'm slowly going insane with this.

[Q] No Display

So I was at school and I turned my phone off to conserve battery but after trying to turn it back for about an hour I gave up,
the back light for the display works fine but nothing shows up on the screen does anyone know what the problem is?
ROM:Sonygen 10
Kernel:Lupus 4.1&4.2
no flash tool either
Don't say use flash tool either because I already tried and it doesn't do anything after trying to flash to stock

Sleep/Wake problems [SOLVED]

So i was using Darthstalker v3 and arter97 kernel 9.3 with no issues.
Suddenly one day, i noticed screen flicker when waking the device, followed by hesitation. So my first step was to wipe the dalvik/cache. That apparently did not help.
I then lost my bootup logos, as well as shut down, along with the screen pretty much refusing to come on.
I used smart switch to emergency recover the stock firmware. Nothing. Then i Odined a stock untouched rom. No change. Once i actually got the phone to render the screen in recovery, so i wiped everything three times, and and flashed darthstalker v6. I also rooted the phone again just before that. I
So when the phone is powered off, the battery icon is present, and the screen wakes to that no problem. Since i set the device to never timeout while charging,
when i plug it in, the screen comes on, but as soon as i try to touch it, poof, the rendering of the screen goes. But, while this occurs, i can hear the icons being pressed,
etc. Completely stumped as to what to do. Can someone help?
[SOLVED]
strangely enough, I found a solution in a most peculiar way.
I managed to finally get into the phone by charging to 100 percent. Then, I downloaded flashify, and attempted to flash tekxodus rom, as well as selecting dalvik and cache wipe.
The flash did not work. the phone just rebooted. Then, I downloaded rom manager premium, and then rom manager attempted its prerequisite attempt to detect my recovery. (up until that point, I had twrp installed).
The detection lingered, so I pressed the back key and selected reboot into recovery. Surprisingly enough, I was back in Stock recovery.
So apparently the solution to the anomaly I encountered in the OP, is to either follow the simple steps above, or, to flash stock recovery in Odin. If that is at all possible for the user. I can confirm the above worked for me as I tried everything for the last week and this was the only method that worked.
The shutdown/startup logos are back, with no screen flicker or hesitation on sleep/wake.

yeah i just suddenly started having this problem. my phone would reboot itself and then it would be updating apps as if i just flashed xposed or something, my phone would have issues with wifi, flickering lockscreen, and if you rub the screen while its off which wouldl show you information stream doesnt work either. Decided to dump the rom. Am going with the TEKXodus N5 with arter kernel

It's just like I told you. When I read that you had experienced the same precursors that I came across with the rom, I had a hunch you would be soon after posting the exact issues that I eventually ran into.
So when you download Tekxodus and flash, please keep me informed as to if it resolves the issue. As you are aware, stock firmware has not resolved the problem for me, but then again devices vary.
So enjoy the fix if you ever run into the above issue.
Im fine with stock, but I miss the fun of trying new roms.

[HELP] Inconsistent Screen, Blue Screen, Bootloop

Hi all.
So, my screen has been dodgy a few weeks now. Basically, if it's too dark or a pop-up comes up, it'll fade out, and I need to switch it off and knock back on.
Anyway, when on it today, I got a Blue Screen of Death and since, the screen hasn't given me anything in the way of details in Recovery. I can't see a thing. And I believe the LEDs are telling me it is in a bootloop. So I essentially need a step-by-step guide on how to restore to factory settings WITHOUT using the screen. (Vol - x2, Power, that sort of thing.)
Can anyone help a brother out?
EDIT: I might add, powering on with the battery in into Download or Recovery mode doesn't seem to be working. However, it'll power up without the battery in and just the USB to PC.
EDIT EDIT: Rooted, Stock Lollipop.
I don't have a solution but my phone has literally had a BSOD
I'm rooted and running Fulmics 5.0

I have the same rom and i have blue screen. Is a problem of the rom?

Always boots into TWRP, can reboot from there to OS. Prepare for bootloop?

Recently, whenever I restart or cold boot my Nexus 5X, it boots into TWRP. I can still get to the OS by selecting Reboot>System in TWRP. But the weird thing is that I haven't changed TWRP version or done anything to the OS recently, this just started happening. Does this mean the bootloop is coming for me or is something else going on?
This is happening to me as well. Planning on reflashing factory images along with TWRP and seeing where that takes me. Have you started bootlooping or stayed the same?
Did anyone figure out how to fix this issue? It isn't a huge deal, but I'm worried that if my phone crashes, it may reboot during the night and I'll miss an alarm. Did you guys just reflash factory images to resolve this?
Check settings of apps related to booting or TWRP (not from recovery mode)

Mine has been doing this also ever since I got a replacement phone, I thought it was weird but thought maybe it was something I flashed that isn't sitting right... Its a minor issue and I dont reboot too often so I havent done anything about it. I have this replacement for about 3 months and no other problems have started....
try reflashing bootloader and recovery via fastboot
