Hi
Update available screen come up
Download and install etc
It's a file of 1.2 gb
It Installs
On bootlog comes up with error sector 7
I dont know why that means
I can send a screenshot
So you answered one question, how about the other (how did you try to hard reset, and what were the results)?
Can you boot into bootloader? If so, what does it say for OS number?

To hard reset I used the power and volume down bitten
Scrolled down to factory reset
It would reset but no changes to the problems like no service /no sound /
I factory reset a couple of times as I could not use the settings to connect wifi
After a few tries, settings error did not come up and I could connect to wifi and update the phone apps etc
If I restart, setting error comes up again etc so I avoid restarting the phone etc
Apps work fine,
With no sound videos do not play
On bootloader
OS-4.16.401.13
Thanks
To update, and hopefully fix the SIM issue, use RUU. See following thread, RUU download on Post #3, and instruction on Post #17:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/marshmallow-6-0-update-htc-m8-european-t3296141
No need to relock bootloader, as its still reading LOCKED.

Read post 6 of the thread redpoint linked. It gives you instructions. RUU.zips can't normally be opened with ANY zip program as they are signed.

None.
No place in the instructions does it say you need to unzip the RUU.
You flash the RUU zip using the fastboot command, do not unzip it.

You have a USB connectivity issue.
Try another cable, another USB port, try to re-install HTC drivers.
Almost there

Any ideas guys?
Out of the blue my phone stopped receiving any reception. Zero bars and a cross.
I tried flashing a different rom to it just incase it was a buggy rom, no luck.
I've tried my sim in another phone it works fine, tried a different sim in the one x no reception.
I took it to tmobile and they said I need to send it off, it's broke. It's rooted, will they still send it for repairs? If all else fails can I get a link to flash stock firmware please?
Thanks in advance for any help

You could do a full reset back to stock or you can try other roms first since you are rooted already.
Btw you should ask questions in the Q&A section not general.
oops sorry, I was linked to this section by another (gaming) forum I frequent.
How do I do a full reset to stock? (I'm currently on insertCoin rom)

You can get a link to the ruu in the development forums.
Lock the bootloader and run the ruu to restore the phone to factory stock. Hopefully this removes the security warning, but if not then you will have to cross your fingers and hope that when T-Mobile sends it to HTC, that either you just get a refurb/new phone and they get to deal with what is most likely a crushed antenna contact (just like wifi antenna, but on 3G...), but there is a chance that they will simply claim your warranty is voided due to "illegal software", which is really just repair-center speak for "HTC will not pay us to repair this phone because it was unlocked at some point".
So the steps are (I'm a complete noob)
Connect phone via usb
Open One X AIO kit
Command > Relock bootloader
Run RUU.exe
What screen should my one x be showing when I will run RUU on my pc?
Any other steps I'm missing?
Do *#*#4636#*#* in the dailer, go to phone information and make sure that its set to WCDMA prefered.
Well I tried these steps;
Connect phone via usb
Open One X AIO kit
Command > Relock bootloader
Run RUU.exe
I get error message;
"ERROR [140]: BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR"

Guys,
I urgently need assistance, I really need to have my mobile working very soon!
Heres my issue!
BOOTLOADER IS RELOCKED
and every command I run, I get the following ..
Sending Unlock_code.bin = FAILED DATA TO LARGE
trying to reinstall clockwork
Sending BOOT , then it says FAILED REMOTE not allowed
I am absolutely stuck in the bootloader loop with no recovery or any .IMG working.
Yes I have searched high and low to help me out all day literally all day and it's been stressing me out alot!
Please help!!
Kind regards
SOLVED MY PROBLEM AND MANY OTHERS MIGHT GET HELP FROM THIS.
First of all if you are having the issue I have please follow the next steps.
If you notice when you are in the Bootloader it will say RELOCKED ** SECURITY WARNING ** if so
Run this bat file with the cable connected until the ** SECURITY WARNING DISAPPEARS ** - http://www.speedyshare.com/b3WsH/Fas...y-recharge.bat
It should disappear after one reboot of charging when it does remove the cable and close the BAT file
Reconnect the cable and open a fastboot cmd window and run the "" fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin "" this will then allow write access and you should be able to use your phone again! my CM10 rom is still working and etc
Hope this helps for other people, please message me if i wasn't clear enough in above.

I have tried the RUU but it comes with the 140 ERROR

Cheers guys
usually when you have error 140 is because you have wrong hboot version (you have to be lower or the same than ruu),
watch in bootloader what hboot do you have and then download ruu from here http://htcruu.com/?dir=Endeavor
check if you have a branded phone or not, and which region (europe, asia...) and download the right one then try again

Factory reseting won't work, and recovery will just reboot the device only to get it stuck the way I mentioned before. Any help, anyone?

Please I have a peculiar problem, I pray you can assist me. I tried to root my telus dhd using advanced hack kit, after running the hack kit the phone failed to reboot. It stock at a blank bLack screen. To solve that, I mistakenly flash a froyo pd98img on a GB ROM. Since then, the phone takes about 20 to 30 minutes to boot. It will start with a splash screen and vibrate for about 10 minutes then takes another 10 minutes to boot. The problem is I can't enter boot loader and I can't use the hack kit again to return to stock since the phone won't reboot in the process.
I will appreciate any help. Thanks for your time.
And why exactly can't you enter the bootloader? Remove and re-insert your battery, Press Vol Down and Power button to boot into the bootloader.
Can you post the text that appears on the bootloader? Is your phone S-OFF yet?

Yes, it's messed up bootloader. Yesterday on #ahksupport, @attn1 gave an adb command, which after typing it, The phone booted to a black screen with HTC on it. Then he gave me a link to a file which he ask me to paste in cmd window. But unfortunately he changed his mind due my inability to respond swiftly to his question.
I have found the PDF, will give it a try. Thanks
Update: This is the file uploaded to by @attn1 yesterday. I believe it's an extracted and unlocked bootloader. The only problem is that I don't know how to flash it. If anyone can assist me.

Just make sure you read properly how to do it before proceeding. Read the guide bananagranola gave you and follow the instructions. We can help with almost anything but conquering your fear. Unless you want glevitan to connect to your computer via teamviewer and have him press 'next'.

Ok, this is what you have to do. I sent you the pastebin link in the IRC channel yesterday but afterwards attn1 told me that that solution would not work in your case. You need to flash that HBOOT in this way:
Code:
adb reboot oem-78
wget https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13152450/ace/PD9812000_Ace_Gingerbread_S_hboot_0.85.0024.zip --no-check-certificate
fastboot flash zip PD9812000_Ace_Gingerbread_S_hboot_0.85.0024.zip
The code will also download the hboot....BE PATIENT IT WILL TAKE TIME TO FLASH...RELAX AND ENJOY

that is normal as you don´t have a RUU in your phone. Does it still take long time to boot in hboot? from there you should be able to flash a RUU as that hboot supports multiple CIDs
I don't think it worked as he is still showing the .007 boot which is froyo.
Question why wouldn't your guide work in this case? Is it because of it being the nam version(pd12000 vs pd10000)? Hboot versions not interchangeable?or something else that as mentioned in the irc

to be strictly plain I am not quite sure..but Attn1 told me that the fix in the guide will only work with just one RUU build 1.32.xxx can't remember now. So he has to flash a new hboot that will allow multiple CIDs...

Just one question...when you flashed the hboot did you get the OKAY.finished in the command prompt? Your is still at slow motion for booting??
If the answers to the question are: Yes. No...then you can flash an unbranded RUU and it should work. :good:

No, I didn't get OKAY in the command, It didn't show finished. The phone screen just showed black with HTC written on it for almost two hours. Then eventually it rebooted to white screen withe info I posted above. Yes it's still at the motion boot.

Then I don´t think you have flashed the hboot....the process will take 2 or 3 hours I guess. You need to get OKAY. Finished near the end to know that you have achived the goal.
If you want I can lend you a hand via teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com/) but you have to put the phone in fastboot usb first. When you are there just send me the ID and PASS over a Private Message (PM)...

Thanks for the assistance. I will try the command again to night, if unsuccessful I will send you a pm tomorrow. Once again, thanks
I just got a new HTC One M8, I got it second hand, but kinda new, all rooted and everything, I was told I can just go on
and install new ROM's and it will all work. That didn't work.
I installed roms before, I know what needs to be done. I flashed my HTC Desire HD, hundreds of times.
So I came here, downloaded the new revolution rom from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694917
I also downloaded the new Venom Rom from this site(to check them both)
Anyway I install the rom, I get these screenshots
Except for symlink fails, it seemed to all work.
I press reboot I get this screen
even when I press install SuperSU, it does something reboots and goes back to recovery, and it won't start my phone.
I tried a few times different ROM's, the SuperSU question keeps coming back everytimes i press reboot from TWRP, and every ROM
I tried won't start, I can only use the recovery.
I have TWRP v2.8.6 - the newest.
Any suggestions? Anything will do!
Thanks
If this helps, before I open the recovery i have this, so you can see my phone information
Try again with TWRP 2.6.3.3

Ignore the superCID part, you already are superCID.

I read your guide there, and I have a question.
should I be in some window in the pc/phone to run the RUU? becuase I connected my phone and went to fastboot mode, typed in
cmd "fastboot devices" and got the SN and I understood i was connected to fastboot. Then just tried to run the RUU and got
an error, not really sure if I need to run it from a different window or anything
Thanks!

What error? Did it say something and give you a number perhaps?
It might not be the right RUU for your model.
In fastboot, do fastboot getvar all and post the readout here. Delete the serial # and IMEI from it though. That is sensitive and personal information.
I, or someone else if they see this first, will direct you to the proper RUU.

I don't know. It should work. Try flashing the splash zip first that you can get from here first, then run the RUU as administrator.

Go to where I linked to get the splash zip. Follow those instructions if you haven't already.
After you have flashed that, run the RUU. You may have to run it twice. Don't disconnect or reboot. Just run it a second time.

If on Marshmallow, you need to use TWRP 3.0, and SuperSU 2.76. But you need to unlock the bootloader again, to do that.
A lot of folks have been trying to use old versions TWRP and/or SuperSU (or toolkit that will install old versions of those) which results in no boot.

USB connection error. Boot the phone into bootloader-fastboot mode, try again. Also make sure HTC drivers are installed, and try different USB port, different cable.

That's true, you have no OS since you relocked the bootloader (which would not have been my suggestion).

"I can't do anything now" is not an accurate statement. I advised you several things to try to remedy the RUU Error 171.
One alternative, is if you can find the RUU in zip format, you can flash from SD card.
Another alternative, unlock the bootloader again, and restore a stock TWRP backup (stock "nandroid") from the collection here on XDA.

Meaning what, that you are still getting Error 171?
If you tried something I suggested, and it didn't work, you should post that, and specific details and results. Otherwise, you make it harder for me to help you, as I waste both our time asking questions for info you should have provided in the first place.
And you didn't try "everything". Don't post statements like that. Its an exaggeration (if you truly tried "everything" in the world, it would eventually work), and doesn't actually tell us anything useful. Be specific in what you tried, and the specific results.
What Windows version? What USB version? Win7 and USB 2.0 have the best chance for compatibility for RUU.
Also do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).

Your gratitude is appreciated, but I'm not sure what I really did to help.
If you were clear about what version M8 you have (one of the main reasons I asked for getvar info - but you never supplied) and what RUU you were trying, we could have identified the problem a long time ago.
Happy to see you sorted it out, in any case.
