Phone no longer has any reception. Help please :( - HTC One X

Any ideas guys?
Out of the blue my phone stopped receiving any reception. Zero bars and a cross.
I tried flashing a different rom to it just incase it was a buggy rom, no luck.
I've tried my sim in another phone it works fine, tried a different sim in the one x no reception.
I took it to tmobile and they said I need to send it off, it's broke. It's rooted, will they still send it for repairs? If all else fails can I get a link to flash stock firmware please?
Thanks in advance for any help

You could do a full reset back to stock or you can try other roms first since you are rooted already.
Btw you should ask questions in the Q&A section not general.

oops sorry, I was linked to this section by another (gaming) forum I frequent.
How do I do a full reset to stock? (I'm currently on insertCoin rom)

You can get a link to the ruu in the development forums.
Lock the bootloader and run the ruu to restore the phone to factory stock. Hopefully this removes the security warning, but if not then you will have to cross your fingers and hope that when T-Mobile sends it to HTC, that either you just get a refurb/new phone and they get to deal with what is most likely a crushed antenna contact (just like wifi antenna, but on 3G...), but there is a chance that they will simply claim your warranty is voided due to "illegal software", which is really just repair-center speak for "HTC will not pay us to repair this phone because it was unlocked at some point".

So the steps are (I'm a complete noob)
Connect phone via usb
Open One X AIO kit
Command > Relock bootloader
Run RUU.exe
What screen should my one x be showing when I will run RUU on my pc?
Any other steps I'm missing?

Do *#*#4636#*#* in the dailer, go to phone information and make sure that its set to WCDMA prefered.

Well I tried these steps;
Connect phone via usb
Open One X AIO kit
Command > Relock bootloader
Run RUU.exe
I get error message;
"ERROR [140]: BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR"

I got the same problem sometimes. Do you see network when you try to set manually the network carrier. If it's the case you need probably to set in automatic mode. For me, it s work.

Make sure you navigate (cd) to the correct directory in cmd prompt before attempting to execute fastboot. Use the dir command to make sure fastboot.exe is in the directory before you run it.

Just realizing, you said you relocked your bootloader again, I'd say if you could get it unlocked again, then try the steps in that thread you might have more luck.
Was your phone carrier locked or sim free?
If locked you'll need to install the RUU from your original carrier. If sim free I think any RUU should be ok.
I thought I'd bricked my phone a couple of days ago, but managed to find my carriers RUU and restored it from that.

[Q] Cannot install stock rom with RUU.exe?

SOLVED!
I need to send my DHD to repair, so I want to make it (almost) stock. It is now ENG S-OFF, HBOOT 0.85.2007, radio 26.14.04.28_M, CID HTC_Y13.
I think I will let it stay S-OFF, so I would just install a RUU.exe.
I have tried with two different releases of RUU's, both RUU_Ace_sen30_S_HTC_WWE_3.12.401.1_Radio_12.65.60.29.
The process stops at the moment when it says "ten minutes". It then shortly shows that I am not using the correct upgrade tool, which probably means that I am using a wrong RUU? What am I doing wrong?
it depends which country your in I need to know to help you.

or If you want to stay S-OFF, then u can restore the original backup and unroot...
unfortunately I did not take a backup of the stock, I have just checked :-(
Actually I have the goldcard I used to unlock and root it. However, my vol up button is not working ( vol down is) - which is why it has to go to service.
Is there anything I can do with that when installing the RUU from Windows?
I might go the hack kit, I have never used it that way around. I just try to understand what the problem is about installing the RUU, CID? - the ext4, that it does not like (I am on ARHD, Gingerbread and Ext4 recovery)?
When I try to use the RUU.exe: The fault comes when it is going to restart to bootloader, then it says: "fault 155, fault when updating the image"

If your volume rocker is broken, maybe that is the issue, it stays pressed. You should try to flash a RUU from command prompt and fastboot, but first you have to get the PD98IMG.zip file....
Vol up does not act as if it is stuck, more like no reaction. The wifi also turned off a few days later, and I have seen that this is a normal fault, first vol up goes, then wifi - and that it takes a new board.
As said, I have the goldcard with a PD98img.zip on. There is a lot of ".img" files in that. Shall I fastboot flash to the recovery.img, that is within that zip, and then what?
Or do I need to find it from the procedure of looking at a temp-file when I try to install the RUU.exe?
Sorry for asking, but I think that I better double check in this situation

Just get the original RUU and then run it. maybe the PD98IMG.zip file that u have in your sdcard is not the correct one. Make sure that it is the one for your phone!!
Thank you - I am eng S_OFF
I am not sure I understand what you propose. Shall I extract the zip file from the RUU? What would the name be I should look for Can I fastboot a zip file, I thought it had to be an .img file?

not actually. I think flashing a PD98IMG.zip file is better and safer. I am just saying that you should try using the correct RUU.
but can I do that without using vol up?
You can flash the RUU with the phone in fastboot. Plug it in (you should see fastboot USB in red), have the file in the PC, open a cmd session as admin and navigate to where the PD98IMG.zip file is and then type:
Fastboot oem rebootRUU (you should get a black screen with silver HTC)
Fastboot flash zip PD98IMG.zip (when you get the okay in the cmd screen, ignore the green bar in the phone)
Fastboot reboot
That will flash the file without using volume rocker. Hope it works...

Problems with Wifi [Not scanning]

Hi guys,
This is my first thread here in XDA, so, forgive me by a possible mistake.
I recently bought a HOX, the seller said that is the international version.
I'm in 4.0.3, with software version 1.29.707.11 (already checked for updates, but phone says its up to date)
So, sometimes when i turn my wifi on, he doesn't connect in my network (already saved), i go to wifi settings, put to scan, and, aparently, the phone don't scan the networks and doesn't found my network too.
Obviously, im on the range of the network, and don't have that factory problem with bad wifi signal.
And, sometimes too, phone takes a lot of time to get carrier signal, so i turn on plane mode, then turn off, and finally get carrier signal.
My question is: is this normal? What can i try to fix it? (Thinked on a factory reset)
I don't tried anything yet.
If anyone could help, i'll appreciate and if the thread is on the wrong place, please move it
Just try flashing the RUU, which will delete everything and return it to stock.

The difference is that it will reflash the ROM from scratch, it's the first thing HTC do when you take your phone for repair. It's very safe (when flashed with decent remaining battery) and very thorough.
Check the Shipped ROM sticky in the development section.
I am searching about the Rom Update Utility, but i'm not finding a good tutorial to follow, explaining the whole process.
If anyone could help me in the process
Edit:
Thanks again Pope! I'll look in dev section
You just have to charge the phone, put the phone in fastboot mode (hold down the volume down key when switching on the phone, then navigate from there), plug phone into Windows PC and double click RUU.
You may want to do an "adb backup" (you'll have search for this) beforehand, flash RUU, test and then restore.

Ben sorry for tons of questions hehe
I'm reading a tutorial, and on it said that i need my CID number, in order to download the correct RUU file for the correct region of my HOX. How can i know if this RUU you posted is the correct for my HOX?
I've tried to get my CID number (downloaded the fastboot flasher tool) but when i put the cid command he returns: CID > None lol
I Know that my HOX is from Shangai (has a SH in serial number) and got my MID number.
So, i just need to know which file i need to download, the right one of course hehehe
If i will need the CID to know, i'll ask for the files for fastboot commands (i don't found them)
If not, just confirm the link you posted ealier if its the correct RUU for my case.
PS.: This link posted is only for premium users, and i don't have a premium acc, can you provide in another mirror?
You can't flash the wrong RUU, the phone won't let you.
You don't need your CID as you are not unlocked, knowing that you are 1.29.707.x is enough. It's the right RUU.
I'm sure you don't need me to hold your hand whilst you use google to find that file somewhere else. The sticky dev thread I previously mentioned will likely have a ton of mirrors for the file.
So.. i'll look fot the file in other places.
Today, i've connected in my wifi network, and the phone says there's an update...
It's the same update announced days ago, but in my case with a different update number...
Phone has been upgraded to ICS 4.0.4 and Sense 4.1.
If the problems persist, i will flash the RUU anyway, but, because of this update, nothing changes right? The RUU file you posted still valid for my HOX?
Not any more, you've updated your hboot, so you'll need an updated RUU (you can't install on older hboot, packaged with an older RUU).

Help in solving bootloader issue

Please I have a peculiar problem, I pray you can assist me. I tried to root my telus dhd using advanced hack kit, after running the hack kit the phone failed to reboot. It stock at a blank bLack screen. To solve that, I mistakenly flash a froyo pd98img on a GB ROM. Since then, the phone takes about 20 to 30 minutes to boot. It will start with a splash screen and vibrate for about 10 minutes then takes another 10 minutes to boot. The problem is I can't enter boot loader and I can't use the hack kit again to return to stock since the phone won't reboot in the process.
I will appreciate any help. Thanks for your time.
And why exactly can't you enter the bootloader? Remove and re-insert your battery, Press Vol Down and Power button to boot into the bootloader.
Can you post the text that appears on the bootloader? Is your phone S-OFF yet?

Sounds like a messed bootloader. Go to the Ace Think Tank thread linked in my signature. Find the PDF in post #7. In that, read about the messed bootloader fix.

Yes, it's messed up bootloader. Yesterday on #ahksupport, @attn1 gave an adb command, which after typing it, The phone booted to a black screen with HTC on it. Then he gave me a link to a file which he ask me to paste in cmd window. But unfortunately he changed his mind due my inability to respond swiftly to his question.
I have found the PDF, will give it a try. Thanks
Update: This is the file uploaded to by @attn1 yesterday. I believe it's an extracted and unlocked bootloader. The only problem is that I don't know how to flash it. If anyone can assist me.

Just make sure you read properly how to do it before proceeding. Read the guide bananagranola gave you and follow the instructions. We can help with almost anything but conquering your fear. Unless you want glevitan to connect to your computer via teamviewer and have him press 'next'.

Ok, this is what you have to do. I sent you the pastebin link in the IRC channel yesterday but afterwards attn1 told me that that solution would not work in your case. You need to flash that HBOOT in this way:
Code:
adb reboot oem-78
wget https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13152450/ace/PD9812000_Ace_Gingerbread_S_hboot_0.85.0024.zip --no-check-certificate
fastboot flash zip PD9812000_Ace_Gingerbread_S_hboot_0.85.0024.zip
The code will also download the hboot....BE PATIENT IT WILL TAKE TIME TO FLASH...RELAX AND ENJOY

that is normal as you don´t have a RUU in your phone. Does it still take long time to boot in hboot? from there you should be able to flash a RUU as that hboot supports multiple CIDs
I don't think it worked as he is still showing the .007 boot which is froyo.
Question why wouldn't your guide work in this case? Is it because of it being the nam version(pd12000 vs pd10000)? Hboot versions not interchangeable?or something else that as mentioned in the irc

to be strictly plain I am not quite sure..but Attn1 told me that the fix in the guide will only work with just one RUU build 1.32.xxx can't remember now. So he has to flash a new hboot that will allow multiple CIDs...

Just one question...when you flashed the hboot did you get the OKAY.finished in the command prompt? Your is still at slow motion for booting??
If the answers to the question are: Yes. No...then you can flash an unbranded RUU and it should work. :good:

Noob trying to be clever - never works :(

Hi, in my impatience to get JB, I knackered things up. I forgot to put the boot img onto my sd card, ran the flasher tool detailed at the start of the big JB update / OTA thread in the general forum and now have a phone with the following:
HBOOT 1.36 / stuck on the splash screen / no access to the sdcard / is/was completely stock & unbranded. The screen I arrive at when pressing the volume don on reboot tells me in highlighted pink at the top of the one ith the three skateboarding robots that it is
***LOCKED***
ENDEAVOURU PVT SHIP S-ON
Booting into recovery gives me 3 or 4 seconds with the green arrow, a reboot and then the HTC one x beats audio splash screen.
Is it going to have to go back to HTC or can someone help me avoid that please?
Sorry for cross posts, I'm trying to get into the right place but am desperate to get this thing back and functioning.
THANKYOU - in advance for any help.
A desperate noob.

Hi Tomascus! A helpful voice in the wilderness, thank you... Most definitely is states *** LOCKED ***. It was never rooted or faffed about with prior to me doing whatever I just did to it this morning. Do you think it can be sorted without going back to HTC?
Think you need to put the Boot.img in the same file as your JBflasher tool (where you put the unlock code from HTC) you cannot flash the boot.img from your SD card.
Did you make a backup? What recovery do you have?
---------- Post added at 02:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:57 PM ----------
Firstly you will need to register your phone on HTC Dev
Next you will need to get the Unlock_token.bin file from the email you are sent and put it in the JB firmware flasher tool
Next you will need to put the Boot.img in the same file as above
If you can boot your phone into fastboot by pressing on the power button for 10 secs and then holding volume before it reboots you should be good to go,
try what you did again after doing the steps above and then you will be unlocked, with CWM recovery installed. The boot.img of your chosen custom rom will be installed,
then you can mount the phone via usb in recovery, put your rom on there and flash it, it should boot

Also have a read of this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843585
Read through it, the bit you need to do via HTC Dev is below:
Unlock the Bootloader:-
Did you install HTC Sync at the start? As now you're going to need it!
Navigate your web browser to www.htcdev.com/bootloader and click register at the top, complete the registration process, making sure that you use an email address that you have access to.
Once registered make your way back to www.htcdev.com/bootloader and sign-in.
Once signed-in at the supported devices drop down select 'All Other Supported Models' and click on Begin Unlock Bootloader.
Now before we move onto anything else we're going to want the Fastboot Files, which Cursed4Eva is kindly hosting here: Fastboot Files
Once downloaded, on your PC go to the folder C:\Android and inside that folder create a new folder called fastboot, so you'll have
C:\Android\fastboot
Now the fastboot files that I linked to earlier come in a Zip file, unzip it to C:\Android\fastboot, this makes it easier to find it in CMD.
Now back @ htcdev, you've registered and signed in? Good, you've chosen All Other Supported Models and clicked Begin Unlock Bootloader, it'll ask you if you wish to continue, click yes, then the Legal Terms will pop up, just click that you acknowledge both terms and continue with 'Proceed to Unlock Instructions'.
Now click through the instructions until Step 8, ignore everything else.
Now turn off your HOX, now we'll turn on the HOX into the Bootloader, so press and hold down the Volume Down Button and whilst pressing the Power Button, continue to hold this down, the phone may vibrate and bleep a bit but continue to hold it down until you are greeted with a screen that has some options on it, Fastboot, Recovery etc... Now the touch screen wont work so we navigate using the volume buttons & Power Button, press down on the Power Button wile you have Fastboot selected, you'll enter Fastboot Mode with the options HBoot, Reboot, Reboot Bootloader & Power Down. You'll see above these options it'll have Fastboot written and highlighted in Red, leave the phone as it is, just plug it into the PC via USB and that highlighted 'Fastboot' will become 'Fastboot USB'.
Now open CMD, enter
cd \Android\fastboot
This will access the fastboot folder in your C:
Now in CMD once you're in the fastboot folder enter this command:
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
Now it'll bring up the Identifier Token. (see Image)
Now using your mouse, right click in CMD where it says
<<<< Identifier Token Start >>>>
Highlight it to where it says
<<<<< Identifier Token End >>>>>
Now on your keyboard, once you've highlighted the Identifier Token press 'Ctrl + C' to copy the Identifier Token.
Now back at the HTC Dev website, scroll down to after Step 10, where it says My Device Identifier Token:, Click in that field and either press Ctrl + V or right click and paste your Identifier Token into that field.
Now Click Submit.
You'll now be taken to a page where you'll be informed to check your emails.
Open up your emails and you'll have an email from HTC and in that email will be an attachment, this will be called Unlock_code.bin.

Hi and thanks again, I received my unlock token, have tried huge amounts of different things and still can't seem to get this thing working. With regards to which recovery did I have etc, I'm afraid I have no idea as the thing was stock, unbranded, never been rooted or anything. Horrible feeling it's back to HTC for this one... Cheers again though, really appreciate your help and efforts.

OK, I've somehow managed to unlook my bootloader using the HTC tool so assume this is a good thing? Anyone tell me what to do now please?
That is exactly what you wanted to do
have you got a command prompt open which is linked to your fastboot folder?
Bear with me mate i'm at work but can help
You will need to flash the attached file through fastboot commands (make sure the attached file is in your fastboot folder):
use the command
fastboot flash recovery c:\fastboot\CWMrecovery.img
You will need to replace the bit in bold above with the path to your fastboot folder if any different to mine
Hi again, I can't thank you enough for this, I've somehow managed to relock the thing now... I simply tried to re-run the flasher tool, got distracted and ended up re-locked. Arrrgh!

Lol nightmare!!! (concentrate lol!!! )
Can you confirm that under where it says relocked on the fastboot screen it says HBOOT 1.36?
You will need to run the flasher again (send anyone who distracts you packing lol) make sure there's a file called
recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.4.0-endeavoru.img
in the JBFW flasher
Have you downloaded a custom rom? if so which one?

Right ok! gotcha,
it looks like you have updated your firmware without picking a custom JB rom lol! the JBFW tool was meant for anyone who wanted to install a custom rom!
You have two options,
1, Install custom recovery and custom rom or
2, Run the JB RUU which will install stock JB on your phone, This should work as you have the correct HBOOT, you can find the link here;
http://www.filefactory.com/f/7cc7b2fbdd03c031/
You will need to find the file below:
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.27_Radi o_5.1204.162.29_release_298897_signed.exe
Basically you run it on your PC with the phone connected via usb and it does everything for you, You will need to connect your phone in fastboot mode (as you cant boot normally) and run the exe file, let it do its thing and your phone should boot
I am not 100% sure if is will work as I have always updated via RUU when the phone is connected booted normally, not in fastboot but it should do, if not your best bet is route 1. I will be leaving work in 15 mins, I will link you up later on Gtalk if you wish
