Hi everyone, I just got the p605 today. Just looking for the best way to root. I know the tablet has been out for two years. The posts I've been reading are from years ago, and I am reading conflicting reports. Any suggestions? And, how is kit kat one the tablet? Right now it's stock up.
Thanks, dk

Folks, I'm coming off an N7000 and before that a Nokia N900, so I'm no stranger to rooting and roms and the like... here's my issue/questions
I am looking for a simple root in order to get TB working so I can get rid of this AT&T bloatware. Had the phone for a day and no need for roms yet (I'm just blown away by the quad core on this beast)...
Last week I decided to root my N7000 and this was amazingly helpful:

So is there a similar .zip I can locate that will just grant me root access?
This is on/for an SGH-l317 on 4.1.2 with ..CALK7
I appreciate any guidance. Not much time to do as much surfing as I used to, taking care of my 2 month old!!
Look for a thread that talks about ExynosAbuse. You'll be rooted within seconds after installing it.
actually "full rooting" only takes about 30 seconds, so if you know how to use odin, and know how to get the phone into download mode, its super easy...

Hi all! I'm a new member, but I've been reading XDA for a couple of years now. I'm usually pretty decent at finding solutions to my own problems, but now I'm in need of a little help.
I recently had to unroot my i747 and restore back to stock firmware. That was about a month ago. Now I'm missing my CM10 and my stock Android goodness and I want to re-root. Unfortunately, none of the old methods I used work for me now. I think I've realized that the reason for this is that during my month away from CM and root-access, I foolishly OTA updated to 4.1.2. I'm also on a Mac, which I realize is yet another hurdle to jump.
I've looked and looked, and nothing I've come across seems to work. I've tried Motochopper and Casual Root but as far as I can tell, neither one supports 4.1.2 right now, and Casual's kind of buggy on Macs as it is.
Am I missing something obvious, or is this just a waiting game for the time being?
Thanks for reading!
If I were you I would just borrow a friends pc and root with chainfire auto root via odin....its the fastest and easiest in my opinion. I literally rooted my phone in my buddys truck the other day in less than a minute. Like you updated to 4.1.2 and had to re root.

Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone had a quick tutorial on how to unroot a Canadian Telus SGH-I747 and return to stock? I'm not very knowledgeable with this sort of thing (I know, with this in mind I probably shouldn't have done anything in the first place, but...) I rooted mine a few months back at the suggestion of a friend, using the walkthrough posted this past June on the 'Honai of Android' blog, under 'How to Root Galaxy S3 (Canadian) SGH-I747M on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Firmware' (I can't post the link directly because I have too few posts). Anyway, I ended up really having little to no use for it and now I may be selling the phone anyway. Even if I don't, I'd prefer to return it to stock just so I can get regular updates, etc. I've looked around pretty extensively for a Canada/Telus-specific tutorial on how to do this, as everything I've found involves other carriers, or makes a point of warning international users, etc. so I'm a bit paranoid about screwing anything up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :good:
Hello everyone, I have recently dropped my phone and the screen is pretty messed up, so I went by Verizon and long story short, I will be getting a new Note II tomorrow. My current one (SCH-1605) is rooted, I am unsure if they will charge me or not because it's rooted (read some horror stories). I've done some googling and it seems like the only method I have found involves mobile oden + triangle away. Isn't there a way that involves the computer, so I don't have to buy 2 apps to unroot my device?
I have also run into some problems with getting a hold of my stock rom at stockroms.net and I come across two different roms (http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyNote2/SCH-I605/official) I have no idea which one I want. I do not stay in-tune with the rooting scene but I do know I love my phone rooted and I want to thank you all for making it possible to begin with and to help out nobodies with problems you guys probably answer everyday!
Bought a Note 4 about a week ago and I'd like to root. I've been using an IPhone 6+ for the last 2 years and wanted to get back to Android. I'm not finding a clear-cut answer or guide as to whether root is possible on my device (SM-N910A with PK3 Baseband). Either it's so dead simple that there is no info on it, or it just can't be done. I learned this the hard way with an LG V10.
Is it possible? If so, could someone direct me to a guide?
Thanks for your help Fellas.
There is no root method available for the SM-910A. Most of the other Note 4 variants do have root, but not the AT&T version.
