I've set my Wi-Fi sleep policy to "Always On" but after screen off for around maybe 15-30 mins ? It turns off Wi-Fi and when I turn screen back on , my Wi-Fi doesn't work any more , I have to reset my router to be able to use it again . Any help would be much appreciated
This happened to me as well, but I noticed it when I was still on ICS, before updating to JB. With my crappy old router I had to turn it on and off all the time until I found that the router settings were screwing me up: the DCHP lease was too short a time interval so that when it expired, the phone or laptop would be in sleep mode and not respond or something like that. Increasing the duration helped, but ultimately a new router fixed the need to constantly restart. The new router did not help the wifi sleep issue.
Some suggestions on the wifi sleep issue would be nice.
Wait wait!
Have you tested it between 00am and 07am??
If yes, it's normal! HTC has setted this device to go in "sleep mode" during the night.
During the "sleep mode" the WiFi and the Data Connection turns off after 30minute of stand-by
I have always had the wifi bug on my phone. On the latest fw 4.1.2 and still bugged. It's the drop i speed and the phone gets unresponsive when the internet connection is somewhat gone... I have to turn wifi off and on again to fix it.
I found sort of solution to it when i chose the option in settings that the wifi is turned off when in standby. And the when i woke the phone i could see a message in the bottom that said that wifi is connected.
But now i never get that message and it seems that wifi is always connected... How can i fix this? Is it an app that i causing this? That keeps the wifi connection on at all times?

either do a factory reset or return it and get a new one
I did the following:
1. Switched my WIFI to 5GHZ from 2.4GHZ. Now it is working as it should. Is this a known Bug?
Bluetooth operates at 2.4 GHz (actually, between 2.4 and 2.485). It has been known to interfere with WiFi operating at 2.4 GHz.
This is not specific to this device, but rather a general issue with Bluetooth.
Hi, i am running cm12.1 with xceletate and I am facing a problem wirh the wifi. In battery usage wifi appears enabled all the time although it is disabled. I am also not using it when I turn gps on. What could be the problem?
Thanks
wifi disconnects in inactivity
i have also same problem can anyone explained?
Its a bug in lollipop/CM12.1. Lollipop is still has a few bug issues to work out.
It does not happen with CM11 r26 which I'm using. r27 is the latest.
When I got my OP3 I noticed that my battery wasn't quite as good as some had been reporting and that there was a lot of drain going on while the phone was off. After a while I started to notice that I was having bad wakelocks only when I was on any WiFi network on campus. When I went home for Thanksgiving, this battery drain was completely eliminated and I was easily getting 6+ hours of SOT which is almost double what I was getting. Once I came back to school, the battery drain came back. I did some research and everything seemed to point to the qcom_rx_wakelock which seems to be an issue on many school/work networks. I ran Wakelock Detector while on WiFi and this confirmed that qcom_rx_wakelock is the cause of the drain.
I am on version 3.2.8 and completely stock and I would like to keep it that way. This wakelock is an issue on the network's end and from the sound of things there aren't really any software fixes that I could do. I've read that most battery saving fixes such as using Amplify or flashing a different kernel don't help anyways. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could stop this? Are there any changes to the network that the school could make to alleviate this issue? I doubt they would listen but it's worth a try. Or are there any other things I could try?
Also, I should mention that I tried the simple fix of turning off the setting "Keep WiFi on During Sleep" which prevented me from reconnecting to the WiFi even when I turned the phone back on. The only way I could reconnect to the network was rebooting my device.
same with me.
i open qq in background. if i connect to the college wifi, screen off wake time is up to 50%;if i connect to my router,it's about 12%.. BTW,i use betterbatterystates to see my wake time.
Flash Franco Kernal, it has this WiFi wake lock fix.

I'm having the same problem but what's new for me is that I'm connecting to the same router from last week I'm facing this issue on any ROM but IDK how can this happen bc my router are same as before it used to work fine before.
I guess it a hardware fault?
