What could become my next phone?

I know this question is asked a lot...
But since the Google Galaxy Nexus came out... I wanted to have it and since I have it, I love it.
It's pure, it's solid, it's fast even though it is a shame that they told samsung to produce it
Is there any phone on the market, that is comparable to the Google Galaxy Nexus at its release?
BTW: I'm no OS-Nazi... if there are good reasons, I'd buy an Iphone or some Microsoft stuff^^
Greetings

you think so?
why?
From what I hear it's pretty sick, but as you very well know the next "big thing" is right around the corner. I don't care what phone people choose, it will only stay on top for so long before being dethroned. For me, I'm going Nexus because I love pure android. No bloatware

Yes I hate bloatware, too. But I don't look for a phone that is the best phone ever for the next 20 years. I look for a phone that has a large community, strong (my g-nexus fell out of my pocket multiple times on concrete floor... still runs like a charm) but it also feels great when you hold it in your hands... and the best thing is: I have this phone for two years now, never replaced the battery and it still runs a whole day with one charge.
Did they bring us with gorilla-glass 3 finally the thing they promised with their first revision?
Nexus 5 comes with gorilla glass. Not too much bigger than the gnex with a 5inch screen. I'll find out Saturday what it feels like in your hand when mine arrives lol

Nexus 5
Oh, the Nexus 5 is bigger than the GNex. I got the Nexus5 for my wife the day it was announced and managed to get it Tuesday after it was released.
I say that it is too big for me, but that is what I said about the GNex and now I am completely used to it. The Nexus 5 is EXTREMELY responsive and quick. I would love one for myself!

I was excited for the Nexus 5, but when it came out I was underwhelmed. I got the Moto X and am very happy. Obviously the Nexus 5 has a faster processor and can be cheaper, but I honestly think the Moto X is very fast and the smaller size is a great. I got used to the Galaxy Nexus size, but a smaller phone is much nicer to use and .3" of screen size is not worth it to me. At least take a look at the Moto X, it's a nice phone.

I wholly agree with this. You will not notice it until you hold it in your hand but one-handed operation is harder on phones like the SGS3, and the Nexus 5 because it's simply a larger phone. I'm able to do so on the SGS3 but if I had to compare, it just feels better on the Moto X. I only wish I can have my own Moto X someday but the Gnex is still a good enough phone not to warrant the purchase. Everything feels better on the Moto X, I can't describe it. It's a natural upgrade to the Gnex. Also the audio amp is pretty good too so you can blast the music pretty loud while exercising.
I looked around a bit, and I find the moto droid maxx very interesting. Two days of battery-life along with a strong soc and 2GB of ram sounds amazing and it also looks very nice.
What I find really sad is the fact that I live in germany, so the moto x and the droid maxx are not available to me
Same thing for me,i'm italian

It depends on what carrier you're willing to go with. If you're under contract with, say Verizon, the nexus 5 is out of the question. If so, are you willing to change carriers to get a different phone? Or do you get unlocked phones?

my contract is expiring in august 2014, but i still think i'll be going with Nexus 5. Samsung Gnex served me well for two years.
I was eyeballing the G2, guy I work with got the Nexus 5 for his wife and took her Nexus 4. He said the 5 is amazing, why he took the 4???
I just picked up the galaxy 8" note tablet and just hot spot my gnex to it. Seems like a perfect set up for me now. The note does everything and if I don't want to carry it along, the gnex still does what I need then.

[Q] Nexus 7 2013 vs Nexus 8 2014

Guys i am planning to buy a Nexus 7 2013 on firsts days of March, but with the latest rumors that had been released those days about a posible launch of a Nexus 8 at the end of apryl... What i can do guys? All answers will be welcomed and apreciated, thanks in advance
What do you want to know. The Nexus 8 is for now just a rumor. If it does come out, it will be bigger, more than likely faster, and almost definitely much more expensive. There pretty much is a Nexus 8 out now called the LG G-Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition. It costs $349.

Buy it now.
There you go, it's not that hard to decide.
I just gave my nexus 7 2013 to a friend and was looking to buy a new one when I saw that the nexus 8 is scheduled for release later this year.
Any updates on this discussion? I can't seem to find specs or comparisons between the two.
New is always better
Only issue would be cost. Unless new has sd card or mini hdmi I can't see how it would beat nexus 7 2013. The large screen would be nice but I bet it will be same quality.

im about to upgrade from my moto g3 to the nexus 5x is it worth it right now?

im about to upgrade from my moto g3 to the nexus 5x is it worth it right now?
not really, nexus 5x was the least revolutionary phone google has made in all nexus line. that's 1 of the reason there's alot more development on 6p than 5x.
You are so close the Google Pixel phones, you might as well wait for those. If you don't like them or cost too much for you, then the 5X will probably go for even cheaper at that point. I'll even sell you mine. LOL

Galaxy note 4 or nexus 5x?

Which one should i get? if i get the galaxy note 4 of course i'm going to put stock android on it. but with the nexus 5x i won't have a reason to root it because it already has stock android. i'm having trouble deciding between these two, can someone help.
Note 4 on Aosp will suck

My wife had the Note 4 before a software update made it out of order. Luckily, insurance gave her a free replacement with the Note 5. That being said, she would always comment that my 5X took better pics which I did notice. Overall day to day performance though, I felt like my 5X had more instances of lag than her.

Hard to say unless to list the features you prefer.
