Zenwatch 1 or SW3 - Asus ZenWatch

hi both are similar price in the uk at the moment, just bought the zenwatch1 due to the fact you can easily change the strap.
but having major problems updating to lollipop atm...
phone is not being found in zenwatch app also, works fine with replying to mesgs and okgoogle
any help

In my limited experience as a new owner myself, I found that running the update whislt the watch is docked and charging helped.. I managed to upgrade from 4.4 to 5.1.1 quite easily when I found that.
On day 3 of ownership still a little in the messing about with it stage, so far 27 hours off charge and at %50 battery screen off with all notifications, using Slyde style watch face. mine also doesn't work with the zenwatch manager on google apps, but you really won't miss it when you are on 5.1.1. As the Android wear app does most of the things that the Zen manager is supposed to do anyway. I did find on this forum a version of ZW that does work, version 1.5.1.150515, so if you find and install that version, you may find that one works.

I had problems with the Zenwatch Manager phone-unlock facility and got rid of it six months ago - I haven't missed it.

Just a quick report back I had the zenwatch for two days ended up selling it and getting a sw3 the Sony beats it hands down
Speed of the system,
The charge is also faster, take under an hour to fully charge
Battery life Is also better

I wear a watch as much for the aesthetics as the function, and IMO the ZW wins on this score. My ZW does enough of what I need while being better looking in most situations, especially as I have about ten different straps for it.

Having used mine for a few days now, I have to say.. I love it. Stylish, comfortable and decent battery.. Used for over 38hours and still had 24% of the battery left..
I get all the notifications I have selected to get, I can reply directly to texts with pretty accurate voice control and It was under £100.. No issues so far other than the ltest version of ZW manager not working with it but You really don't need it with the watch updated to 5.1.1.
It's akeeper.

So just uninstall VZ Navigator? I mean, I don't know why all these carriers slap their own navigation on top of the G-Maps one.
Well.... Maybe I should.
But I don't like installing a custom launcher or jailbreaking the phone.
I received an message from a reviewer works for Wirefly, saying that his LG runs VZ navigator smoothly. So, maybe that's just his issue.

I don't mean any offense by this at all, but if you're not going to root (jailbreak) your phone, you're pretty much on the wrong forum. That's all we do around here.
I have a reason for that;
after i use the phone for a month, i will bring this back to korea, where LG provides excellent customer service. But they don't take care of handsets bricked by rooting. So, I want to root it at least 1 years after I bought the phone.
Before you do anything to your phone, would you please make a screenshot of Settings -> About phone (scroll to the bottom)
I'd like to make sure our unbricked phones have the same data there.
Screenshot can be taken by pressing at the same time power button and home button, the images stored in /sdcard/Captured Images/
(first time I see a linux with spaces in the filenames..go figure)
This is mine:

[Q] New to the S3

Hey guys I just bought my S3 maybe a week ago and absolutely love it! I had it rooted and flashed within the first night. Mainly my question is though when I first got it I was running super quick and my RAM was rarely more than 50% full. After rooting I installed the Anakonda rom, setcpu, and juice defender ultimate to manage my battery.
Now I'm coming from an iPhone so I'm still adjusting to the difference in the phone but it seems like when I don't touch my phone i can go 15+ hours and not lose any battery but the moment I start doing anything it plummets. I used Titanium backup today to remove some bloatware and could just watch the battery disappear. On top of all this my RAM is constantly staying >50% full.
Any ideas? Is it bad to have the ram so full cus honestly I feel like the phone slows down (ie going to home screen and have a black wallpaper with no icons) then all the sudden it flashes and its all there.
As I said, Im new to the S3 and Android and absolutely love it. Just looking for advice so no flaming please ^.^
Edit: I would also like to say I use GoSMS as my texting app with the emoji plugin so my girlfriend and I can send those crazy icons back and forth. If youknow a better app (paid or free) that can use emoji please let me know.
I get better battery life without juice defender on this phone.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
I get 14-15 hours with everything syncing, auto brightness, and no better saving apps, with 3-4.5 hours screen on time.
This is from today, notice on the right where it flattened out, I was taking a nap phone barely lost any battery.

[Q] Is this typical battery performance?

I'm new to the Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Toro), I just switched from a Thunderbolt.
So here's the issue: I am seeing much quicker battery drain than I would expect when running Carbon 1.1 (Android 4.2.2) or Carbon 1.0 (4.2.1). I'm going to try franco kernel today. Here are some screens showing stats. I replaced the stock battery (person who sold it said it wasn't holding charge) with Anker battery. I also disabled NFC wondering if maybe this battery doesn't support it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, maybe I missed something with installing the rom with this phone, as I said before, I am new to the Nexus.
You might can squeeze a little more, but </= 2 hours screen on time is generally what you can expect.
Seems pretty normal to me. With almost an hour of onscreen time 53% after almost 7 hours is pretty good.
Alright, thanks for the input. Sort of not what I expected, as this isn't much better battery life than my TB. Would anyone expect an improvement using just 3G? I don't typically use data on my phone anyone, as at home and at work I have wifi

Not a substantial one, no, but minimal improvement maybe.
EDIT: Unless the majority of your battery drain is coming from data usage.. Torrenting and such..
I somehow noticed a much better battery life in 4.2.2 than 4.2.1
I am running ParanoidAndroid 15th Feb release and AK 691 Pirates on my maguro.
I have disabled sync and only sync mails 2-3 times a day and complete sync once.
And screen on time between 2.5 to 3hrs is normal for the GNex.

Moto 360

Just got the Moto 360, so far, very nice. but I'll know more once i give it a full day's test. anyone else have it yet? your impressions?
It's on my Christmas list. I want the metal band one. I'm jealous!
Sent from my Moto X
I got mine, love it so far. I got one the day after launch and put a black pebble steel band on it. Battery life is shorter than other watches but hasn't been an issue.

i'm getting an easy 22+ hrs. seems to do more with how "active" your wrist is than anything else. lately at work, i've been taking off my watch to prevent my wrist from turning over when i type on the keyboard (frequent screen wakes). i usually get my m360 back on the charger with +50% from 7a-10/11p each day.

Battery impact is negligible on the moto x. I still get ~3hrs OST per day on the phone.
With the watch, I'm consistently at the 50% mark after 14 hours on my wrist.
I highly recommend it - certainly a nice extra motivational factor to get more active again.
I've been a fan of wearable tech since before it was practical. Still own a Sony Liveview (which will no longer stay in the band). I really want to like the 360 since it's round, and I have a Moto X that I love. But it looks large. Hope they come out with a smaller lady's version.
FWIW i took it on a 14hr trip and used it with GPS. had the watch off since 8a that morning, charged it up around the afternoon and then enabled GPS guidance. I don't think I got 11hrs before the watch completely died.
on the way back i didn't use GPS and somehow managed to get more than 36hrs. I took it off about 8a on Saturday and it didn't make it back to the cradle until 9:30p Sunday and it still had 23%!

Battery issue - Anyone else has same issue?

Hi guys
I've had my HTC 10 for over 2 weeks now, and as I decided to change from iOS to Android the first few days/week the battery would only last me barely 14 hours.
However, the last few days were very impressive with the phone lasting me 2 days and 12 hours with normal usage (no games and not heavy internet browsing).
But today something weird happened as I took the phone in the morning to go to work and at 10:30/11:00 my phone was down to about 60% without me doing anything to it and without a specific reason to it.
I will attach some screenshots to see if anyone had the same problem/issue.
I would appreciate any feedback you may have!

Did you try to restart the phone? Something is keeping your phone awake. A restart every couple of days is always helpful.
Yes, I did.
However, the phone's battery still only lasted until 7 pm. Which is really weird as I literally almost didn't use it...
Will see how it goes today
My battery life did not last very well either when K first got my 10. I'm an HTC lover by the way. In my experience, I've learned you really need to optimize the controls and settings after you purchase the phone to get the most out of your battery. I restrict a lot of app permissions that ask for location so my phone isn't constantly locating itself on GPS. Same for Wi-Fi. I turned off the auto scan for the Wi-Fi cause that absolutely toasts your battery. And then I turn off vibration feedback for touching keys just to conserve even more. I moderately use my phone throughout the day checking mail, texting, browsing the web, facebook, xda, altos adventures, a YouTube video here and there. I get to my office at 4 in the morning, don't get home til 3 pm and my phone still has anywhere from 45 - 60% charge. I think that's great considering my M8 normally has 15 - 20% when I would get home. Just tinker with the controls for a bit. Maybe I'm wrong but this is what worked for me
Yes, I understand and I have done so by restricting must apps and by having the same constant brightness and normally (as it happens today) the phone after 12 hours still has 50% battery. But it was that episode that literally was eating away the battery without me using the phone at all!
Thanks for the replies so far
