Hi!
Today I unlocked bootloader and installed a custom rom and everything went fine.
Now, when I tried to flash the camera mod app, I couldn't enter TWRP. When trying to do it with the restart option it shows a broken android and I have to remove battery to get the phone running again. Manual (holidng down vol button + power button, as well as holding down buttons and releasing them for 1s) is also not working.
The phone works fine, but I would like to have TWRP working.
Can I just reinstall twrp like the first time?
Thank you

What device? H811? Needs to know more about what software you flashed.
If you can get into fastboot you can push twrp there.
Hmmm i flashed xperia phones locked bootloader twrp on my h818 and i got this error too so it means it changed the recovery but can't start it?
Sent from my LG-H818

H815 EUR. I installed the 2.8.7.0 and the 2.8.6.1 from https://dl.twrp.me/h815/. I tried it multiple times with these 2 versions and everytime I get the same error.
Connecting it to pc and entering recovery works without a problem, though.
Edit: I flashed Genisys 3.7

So you can get into twrp with "adb reboot recovery"?
Your problem is you can not access it from neither the rebooter app nor the hardware buttons?
When using the harware buttons, hold vol down then press and hold power until the logo shows up. Release power for a second then press and hold again.

Correct, I can get in twrp with "adb reboot recovery"
I was releasing both the volume and power buttons. Tried it again, but I came to a menu where I could only choose whether to delete all data (factory reset) or not. When choosing NO, the phone proceeded to boot normally.

That menu is perfectly normal. You have to select okay. Because you have a custom recovery it will not factory reset your phone but rather boot you into twrp.

I don't know what to do because my device is currently not booting. The device is stuck at the HTC logo for a very long time (both when booting normaly or going in to revovery). The device finaly is finished booting in like 10 min. , but when it is finnished booting the touch on the screen doesn't work, it keeps a black background and it says no service. In revovery on the otherhand the optical trackball doesn't work anymore, the hardware button does tho because the first option "Reboot system now" does work.
What should I Do???

Have you tried using the volume up / down buttons for moving around the menus and power button for select in recovery?

The volume up/down buttons dont work in recovery
Now its just stuck in a bootloop .
And there is no way of wiping the device, because the trackball isn't working.
hep would be greatly appreciated
The first thing I would try is to remove the SD card and see if your phone boots.
If that doesn't work. Have you tried putting fake flash on your SD and booting into recovery on that to test your trackpad?
Why has it started playing up in the first place? Did you have a bad flash? A wee bit of the history of your device might help to find out what's going on.

the trackball isn't working in the fakeflash. The whole problem didn't happen after a bad flash, but it just went in a bootloop when i tried to put it on this morning. I was running Defrost 1.4
You don't need trackball in the fakeflash. You navigate there using volume up and down. It should work. Try .
How about resetting it by doing the following.
Switch it off, or remove battery > Hold volume down and power button > wait a few seconds > use volume to go to clear storage > power button to select. This doesn't involve going into recovery so your buttons might work there.
Can't you get into the bootloader mode with vol. down + power and wipe it there?
Edit: Few secs too late heh

You need the trackpad to select the option after choosing it with volume up/down.

No, it says clear...... and then it just restarts the bootloop
The fake-flash worked!!!!!!!
I deleted everthing there but now, when I boot up the device it boot up straight into fastboot
You could try now using an ruu to flash. Or try getting into recovery and see if you can use the buttons now.
I'll try a ruu, but the recovery still wont work

version I currently have, maybe not the newest (0.14), but works just fine.
i heard that you simply hold down the VOLUME DOWN and POWER BUTTON at the same time to boot into recovery, however whenever i try it does nothing until i release my finger from the POWER BUTTON and then it just boots normally.
what's the proper way of doing this with this phone?
thanks
[EDIT] as stated below, i got it to work. rather then powering off completely and trying it, i ended up just doing a simple reboot and then it worked.

Did you flash the recovery correctly? Try reflashing it if it won't work.

i got it. apparently i was doing it incorrectly. i was powering down the phone completely and then attempting it.. i finally tried to just 'reboot' the phone and then it worked.
go into "settings" click "power".. and make sure "Fast Boot" is un-checked.
Same here. Even though Fastboot was disabled, I cannot boot into recovery from off state.
If I power up the phone normally, then select restart, and while the phone is rebooting--I press and hold the down volume key; THEN it boots into the menu that gives me the choice of booting into recovery.
Oh well, it worked...
Hello Root, bye-bye bloat!
Waiting for some CM7 goodness to spread our way.
After upgrading to 6.0.1 via OTA the touch screen does not respond anymore.
The buttons work.
How can I restore back to previous version or do a factory reset? Device is stock/locked.

From what you are saying the power/volume up/down buttons work. So boot into the bootloader mode hold the down volume button in and the while holding this button in press and hold the power button in until it boots into bootloader mode then release both button. At this point you will get android on it side with belly open. Press the volume down button the get to where it says Recovery Mode in the large arrow. Now tap the power button this should put you in recovery mode. After the Google name goes away you will see the android with a red ! point. Press and hold the power button and while doing tap the power Up button. This will bring you to a menu list use the page up/down keys to select the Wipe data/factory reset, then hit power to execute.
The easiest way to roll back would be to visit WugFresh Nexus Root Toolkit web page and use their tool. Link here!
Good luck and report back with results and/or help needed.
Was able to factory reset.
Now I am at the Lang select screen and the touch still not responsive.
Maybe it is hardware issue?

Sounds like a possibility. However, it was working prior to the 6.0.1 upgrade. I would try rolling back to 6.0.0 or even 5.1.1 to see what that does for you.
Installed custom recovery (TWRP) and the touch screen works fine while in recovery mode.
Now I will try to flash a different rom version and see if the touch screen still functions.
Thanks.
After I did Factory Reset via TWRP, the touch screen is like new. I'm good for now.

If I have TWRP recovery and still on stock rom can I flash the SuperSU zip file from recovery to obtain root access ?

From what I've read yes installing SuperSu should allow you to obtain root access, as long as the flash is successful
Unlocked phone's bootloader and flashed the latest TWRP, downloaded straight from their site and md5 checked.
If I try to enter TWRP from fastboot, it enters fines but the shortcut just doesn't. If you can't enter twrp from the shortcut, then your basically screwed if you brick it..
I even tried flashing twrp all over again, and still have the sample problem.
So how can I fix this?
i have the same problem, plus the fact that i had error during flashing new rom and now i can't even go back to stock, cause my PC doesn't recognize phone in download mode. Any fixes?
bumb
If u have root u can use an app called Flashify download from playstore go to recovery by using this app n The regular way to go Volume up and power button delete all select yes confirm yes u go into TWRP
Use Flashify or while you're in recovery flash again the recovery use the "Flash Image" option. And now you'll have permanent recovery
i found a solution, when your phone is off press volume down + power until lg logo appears, then release power (keep holding wolume down) and press power again. Then double yes and boom TWRP

Thanks mate. This made the factory reset menu open, and after clicking yes twice it did a normal factory reset like there was no twrp there.. I flashed twrp a couple of times with no error messages, and even got into it a month ago. How did it disappear.. what the hell
Step 5 of the upgrade instuctions say that if you want install add-ons, you need to click Advanced then Reboot to Recovery. However, my phone, as mentioned in the instructions can happen, goes to a black screen. So how can I install Gapps after side-loading LOS?
Has anyone successfully carried out the upgrade?
Try this:
Connect your phone to a charger or pc....(make sure its charging)....then press and hold (vol up + power button)...until android one logo shows up, as soon as the logo shows up just leave the power button but still holding the volume up button until it enters lineage os recovery menu. Then flash your gapps...and then factory reset,....then reboot system. It works.....good luck

My problem was not that I didn't know what to do. The problem is that on my phone, I just get a blank screen when I boot to recovery. The recovery still works, but it is hard to use if you can't see what you are doing. However, as I have another phone where I can see the recovery, I was able to use that as a guide.
Ok

Hello! I have the exact same issue! Is there any known fix yet and can I contribute somehow?
I haven't found a solution, but some workarounds are given here: https://gitlab.com/LineageOS/issues/android/-/issues/4170

The TWRP workaround did not work for me, but I awas able to install it blindly.
Is there any way to run the LOS Recovery on a windows PC in VirtualBox or something? Then I could make some screenshots of the Recovery Menu so everyone with the same issue can at least do it blindly in theory...
