Hello everybody!
After two days (Yes, two freaking days) i finally got CM11 running on my Ouya, which i intend to use to run Kodi! Everything is set up and working as a charm, except for the audio, and i'm at a total loss as to how to fix this?
My setup is CM11, with CWM 6.0.4.8, running on an Ouya connected to my TV via HDMI!
cm-11-20151221-UNOFFICIAL-ouya this is the CM i'm using, it's made for this device afaik and i guess should have sound of Hdmi? I read that CM11 does not support it originally.
Any help, or pointers of any kind is greatly appreciated
I fing using the audio gain under the volume control is the only way i get volume.
What buttons did u use to get in recovery??

Hello.
I just updated my Xperia S from CM9 to CM10, and it's great!
But I have this one problem which ruins the whole experience for me. Whenever I plug in my headphones (I use the new Apple Earpods) the sound still goes through the speaker. The only way to get the sound through the earphones is holding the play button when I plug it in, but then the music pauses after 1 second, and when I press play it just goes through the speaker again.
I tried using the 'audio_policy.conf' from the CM10 thread, and I set the permissions correctly, but it didn't work. Is there any way to fix this? Because now I can't listen to my music.
Thanks

Yes, same problem here, fix pls
I have a set of buds with an inline Mic and buttons. To get them to work I have to hold one of the buttons while plugging in. As I don't use these for phone calls I don't know what function the button controls. Labels are gone.

I noticed this too, I think it's because Apple earphones need proprietary Sony drivers to work and FXP can't use these as they're proprietary.
I was just thinking, is it possible to copy the lib (or whatever file) that makes the headphones work on stock to CM9? I know it won't work with CM10, but it should work with 9. I want to try, but I have no idea which file I should use.

Neither do I lol. Try doing some research into the audio libs for ICS? Good luck
Can anybody check if the problem persists while using the Default sony Earplugs which came out of the box with L26i Xperia S?
I am rounding up facts and what all to expect when I flash my phone
I think they should work, but I can't test it since they stopped working after 2 days

I have my Apple earpods working on CM10 All you have to do is download 'SoundAbout' from the Play Store. Open the app and change the 'Media audio...' option to 'Wired Headphones'. The only downside is that you have to change this option everytime you want to use the speaker, but at least the headphones are working

I have the problem too. When I plug in my headphone, the sound is still coming from the speaker T_T
Does anyone have the solution for this?
By the way, when using SoundAbout, what happen to the notification sound? Do they still come to the speaker?

All the sounds come from the earphones, even when you plug them out. But the app has a widget which you can press to change it back to the speakers

I also use that, it works well with wireless beats. Are your headphones bluetooth or wired? I know where to turn the Volume up in the system but only works for Speaker and wired headphones.
Mine are wired. Viper has independent controls

I like the viper as well been using a little over a year now. If you wanted to change the volume you can look in system/etc/default gain.conf
If you open that up with a editor or put onto a computer and open up youll see some default numbers that you can raise and it will make the volume louder. Its pretty easy to understand if you were to open up.It has a description of what numbers are what sound. Im sure your fine with viper but just giving you the option just in case you wanted to learn something.
Is there a way to boost the bluetooth volume on the G3? I used to have a G2 and used the flashable zip in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799537&nocache=1.
Is there an entry in the mixer_paths.xml that I can edit for this? I looked through it but wasn't sure which value to change. I found a few threads in the themes and apps section for volume boosting but none had a specific bluetooth volume setting.

Downloaded that app but don't see anywhere in it to increase the bluetooth volume. Which option would it be? Headphones, Speakers, Handset, or Aux?

Fot BT audio I think you have to set up Handset, change it to 65, apply, reboot and let me know if it works for you. You must be rooted.

Are you running a custom kernel? If so, check if your kernel has audio boost options.

No I'm running the stock kernel on Cloudy 2.5. I tried editing the mixer paths Advanced Headset but that didn't seem to increase the bluetooth either.
Anyone ever find a solution to this? I just got my G3 yesterday... running rooted 24B stock right now, but the low BT volume stinks! Do you guys know of any fixes or stock-based kernels that support bluetooth volume boosts?
Hey guys is it just me or does anyone else have crazy low Bluetooth Volume? Even maxed out is it very very low compared to my Nexus 6P. And has anyone figured out a solution to this? I tried the Devine audio mod great for increased speaker volume but Bluetooth it does virtually nothing. Any help into this area would be greatly appreciated.
I have the same issue. No solution so far...

Should be able to be fixed using the mixer_paths file but I thought the volume was fine
If u flash viper u can easily adjust the output gain, also for Bluetooth

My volume is comparable to what I got on my Nexus 6P. I listen to my podcasts at the same volume level over my car stereo as before.

Use Devine beats to flash it. Here is the official threat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/softwaredapp-divinebeats-sound-master-phone-sony-t3274355
While u find the newest beta to flash here:

It includes the Bluetooth fix and was just posted in the op3 telegram group.
Hope I could help.
I'm on the stock rom but rooted. I assume it doesn't matter but I'd like to be sure.

Well as long as you use TWRP to flash it you are fine.

I think this has an issue with streaming apps like Spotify, same as other versions of V4A I've tried. Mine won't play in the car either. Annoyingly, gonna have to revert to stock for now.
This does not work for me.......looks like I'm not able to get Viper4Android to work either. So it looks like I will wait for a later time. Thanks for the recommendation though.
I don't think Viper works. It doesn't seem to do anything to increase the volume on phone calls using Bluetooth headsets. Unless somebody can tell me a way to do it I don't think it works.

U have to enable viper it in the specific section, e.g. Bluetooth. U can check if it runs when pressing driver status while music is playing.
Also go to menu then UI SETTING and enable expert mode.
In the Bluetooth tab scroll all the way down and crank the output gain up. Done

It doesn't seem to work even after doing your suggestion. I guess I need a different method. Thanks for the assistance though.
Same issue for me. Installed via twrp restarted, connected to bt headphones, also car, music would not play thru any player. Used advanced mode too. Appears to break things in 3.2.1 requiring a reflash to fix as deleting apps and editing build.prop didn't fix at all.

it's possible to use viper on non-rooted device ?
i'm experiencing the same problem with my plantronics explorer 50 and onplus support told me that my device actually is not compatible.
Completly stock and no complains about bluetooth volume in my Volvo C70.
Certainly not with Music, for phone calls I should like it a little bit louder, but my Samsung S6 Edge is certainly not louder, and the audio quality for conversations (both ways) is even beter on the OP3.
Just wondering if anybody has managed to find a way to boost the headphone volume via usb c?
Previously I would just go into system/vendor/etc/mixer_gains.xml however it seems with our device we don't have this XML file.
The output volume is a bit too low for me, so I was hoping I'd be able to boost it as I have on all my devices in the past.
